Sensei Garm is dead by the time Jay arrives in the picture, so when SoG comes along he's pretty confused. He doesn't have a personal connection to Garmadon like the rest of the group does, so he's actually the one with his head screwed on the most about taking him out and being wary of him. Overall though it's pretty much the same as how canon Jay acts about Garmadon. Meanwhile Garmadon's just kind of baffled that Jay exists at all since he was missing for so long

2. Yes he does! They stay after the game but they're not yellow anymore they're average scar colors

3. Kai and Jay have a lot of tension throughout the whole AU! Their dynamic is so interesting to me and I like to explore it in the au. Kai is SUPER distrustful of Jay and they take a while to warm up to each other. On the flip side, something that happens that absolutely SHATTERS Jay's trust in Kai for a while. Their relationship is super important to me so I'm excited to develop it more!!

They remain very close :D Racer 7 and Jay didn't interact much inside the game but they both respect each other and Racer 7 is super grateful to Jay for helping everyone leave the game

So finished my rewatch of all of ninjago that is easily available on Netflix (so the original, day of the departed and some of the shorts I could not watch)

Theories about dragons rising and therefore SPOILERS

While the merge would’ve happened no matter what BUT Ras and Beatrix triggered it early

Ras’s master is the overlord

Land of the Lost tells us what’s going on with the Departed Realm. It could’ve shown up on the map but once you’re in you can’t leave it creates a fog

Lloyd could’ve ended up in the land of the lost as a kid

I have decided that Spitz is actually Skales Junior but he got separate from his family during one of the events in Ninjago and they all thought he died and he lost all his memories

Fritz is a formling and judging by his hat he has a bird form. I’m hc that he got lost and stuck in the land of lost things during Zane’s reign and by the time anyone was able to remember him it was too late

Geo, is so obviously is love with Cole but I’m sorry I ship Cole and Vania and I won’t be swayed maybe they can be poly but I feel like a lot of Geo’s affection for Cole may come from him being the Son of Lilly and so he feels like he is the only one who can truly accept him

The Merge had to have messed with people’s memories because Lloyd keeps being treated like this perfect angel and no one wants to mention how much of a menace he was a child and I think Sora and Arin would greatly benefit from learning that (and not just in haha he was a menace and he’s getting payback from them. I really think it will help them in their learning)

Cole is most definitely going to be the one to find Jay

The administration is a nightmare but also far too real but maybe that’s just because I live in the US (cries in victim of capitalism)

The Administrator has to be either PIXAL or Garmadon but a fun twist would be Mindroid or Borg

Misako realistically would be dead by this point the youngest she could be before the Merge was mid 70s (I refuse to believe she and Garmadon got married before she was 20 because I’m so tired of cartoon woman being questionably young. I don’t care if that means she was late 40 early 50s when she had Lloyd it’s possible and actually not uncommon) BUT this is Ninjago so she’s probably alive and researching stuff

Also did anyone notice that the temple grave place Nya and Sora went to had a pillar that matched one in the Monastery and they show it immediately after in almost the same place I am really hopeful that’s important

PIXAL better be living her best life building stuff for fun and profit and they only thing missing is Zane and she just really misses him but otherwise everything is perfect for her and she won’t have to leave that but instead just move it to the monastery or the crossroads

The Geckle chancellor knew it was Zane he just didn’t recognize him at first and was embarrassed about it so he tried to cover it up by saying not even Zane himself could live up to Zane

Blazey H Speed/Racer 7 is Kreel change my mind

The explorers club has branched out significantly and now every major city that will allow them has a club house

The ninja are adults in this and you can’t change my mind

I think Lloyd is late 20s early 30s

I know Wu or the first spinjitzu master is probably who the big source dragon was talking about but I really hope it was the good part of Garmadon I just would really like to see that and it would also be funny if there were multiple versions of Garmadon running around because of Harumis ritual and then like the merge caused him to further split apart. It would be hilarious

Random post about my movieverse headcanons for side characters- GO!

Scott is Milton Dyer’s son who accidentally got sucked into Prime Empire, but ended up meeting Okino, Racer 7/Blazey, and Unagami, who not only helped him escape, but were able to get to the real world themselves and now they’re all Milton’s kids (even if Okino is almost an adult- doesn’t matter found family fluff baybeeeee). Also yes this means Unagami didn’t become evil, Scott helped him through that.

Fugidove (known as just “Dove” in his civilian life) did not go down the path of questionable villainy and is instead Dareth’s adopted son who runs a bird pet store next to his dad’s dojo. He attends collage with Morro, Wrayth, and Odoroki (Fuchsia ninja)

Dareth, as mentioned, still runs his dojo and is as silly as ever. He’s a great dad to Dove and also part times as a paternal figure for Benthomaar and Clancee (more on that later), all three of which he split the element of nature amongst (Dareth is the EM of Nature here btw). The element was split into four parts: land animals (Dareth), birds (Dove), plants (Clancee), and Marine Life (Benthomaar). Dareth’s also been seeing this morally grey guy as of late, don’t know if you’ve heard of him… I think his name is Ronin?

Benthomaar is a bit younger than in the show and actually has a good relationship with Kalmaar (though it’s not like Kal will ever admit he cares for the squirt).

The League of Jay is a group of four kids who are all Blue Ninja fans and go to school together named Stellar, Scrub, Crest, and Azure. Also all four are half brothers (dad’s side) whose moms bonded over their shared shitty ex and are now a polycule (so ig half brothers biologically and step brothers legally?). Anyway, their bio dad is some big time actor, think he played the main guy in Starfarer… kinda funnny they all have bird names like Jay, huh?

Vania is largely the same, but she does have a BFF named Charcoal she hangs out with on the regular. Her father introduced them and she immediately jumped at the new friend opportunity. Charcoal doesn’t show his feelings much, but he does genuinely care. It’s also why he’s doing what he can to prepare Vania for the inevitable day when he has to leave and help Vangelis with some… plans. He doesn’t want to, but he doesn’t exactly get a choice in the matter.

Ultra Violet is actually related to a pretty wealthy and semi-influential family in Ninjago City. Not that she participates in any of that, or even sees her family much.

Echo is a BABY and must be protected at all costs. He’s 8, he lives with his dad and brother, and he lives both of them so much, and they love him, and everything’s good for this lil pampered guy. He does want to go to public school like his older brother, but Dr. Julien keeps saying no and that it’s unsafe. Echo doesn’t understand any of that, but he thinks it’s gotta do with some mean, icky guy he overheard his dad and brother discussing once. Also Echo’s BFFs with Nelson.

SPEAKING OF NELSON- probably the last HC for now- the mailman (real name William) is a close family friend to his mom, Rosie, and took Nelson in so she wouldn’t have the financial burden and so she could finish school. Nelson’s biological father isn’t in the picture, it was a dumb, drunken one night stand with some actor. Rosie regularly visits and takes Nelson on days or weekends out whenever the both of them are free. Her finances are stable now, but Nelson’s happy with William and his new siblings (who all have a pension for an oddly specific shade of pink-), so he’s stayed there. He’s also still a paperboy and hangs out with Antonia regularly, he’s just jealous she’s sooooo much faster on her routes than him- it’s almost like she’s got superpowers!

garmadon moved to the sky kingdom to train under chen a long time ago, but later left and was cursed by clouse to slowly lose his sandwing traits and turn evil. harumi heard of these stories and left to go find garmadon bc she believes he can overthrow chen and make her queen

morro and harumi are more like antiheroes than villains

there’s like a ton more lore and i honestly have the full thing fleshed out so please ask me questions if you’re interested and i’ll try and make some art for it!!!!!

I don’t remember if I ever rlly elaborated on my potential Ninjago s12 but I’m listening to GRRRLS and it reminded me of it, so briefly here’s all the ideas I had for it (and are currently having for it because I am now coming up with stuff on the fly):

The focus on Jay would be forshadowed by the fact that Jay doesn’t get a resolution to what he does in s11. He seemingly feels bad about ignoring Zane’s dream and in general feels more of a disconnect to the group. This is subtle and he tries not to let it bother him. This is highlighted more at the start of the season, as they are investigating the mechanics hideout.

We would see that Jay gets transported as player 2. He arrives at the very core of prime empire, the tower, which also serves as menu screen. He’s greeted by Unagami, who offers to play games with him, an offer he takes due to being excited

I think on the ninja’s end it would mostly be the same. BUT Whilst Zane and Pixal can’t enter the game due to risk of their data getting scrambled (how that works I’ve decided is that, Prime Empire works by translating bio matter to digital but it can only do bio matter bc it knows how it works, and it doesn’t know how nindroids are made and therefore can’t translate them without risk of error), zane and pixal can set up some sort of communication system that allows them to contact the ninja. Essentially zane and pixal are video calling the ninja from their minds and over the course of the season they chip in with gaming tips (canonically zane and pixal are both gamers so)

The ninja end up meeting superstar rockin Jay, and it goes on as normal, although Okino is a little weirded out by him

In the just dance episode, Nya finds out on the dance floor that Jay is the sussus amogus imposter. Shock horror on the dance floor

It turns out that superstar rockin Jay was just an artificial construct being controlled by the real Jay who is still in the tower with Unagami. But recently Jay and Unagami had a real fight and that’s lead to Unagami taking control of superstar rockin Jay in an attempts to stop his friends’ progress

Not entirely sure how the superstar rockin Jay thing ends tho, all Ik is that I want Nya to have an “oh my god what happened to my boyfriend”/“wait a minute Jay would never say that”

There would be an episode detailing Jay’s pov, showing how he and Unagami became friends and started playing the games together after feeling similarly lonely, exploring Jay’s tendency to ignore his problems and how it’s resulting in him growing distant, before Jay realises he doesn’t want to give up on himself and he’s gonna try to reunite with his friends (probably after seeing how hard the ninja are trying to find him). Then Unagami reacts badly to the idea of being abandoned by Jay and they fight, ending with Jay falling through the walls and into the core of prime empire, in like this weird void of pure code.

I kinda also wanted to idk make more lava moments but that’s just me

I never really worked out what I wanted Libber (Jay’s mum) to do in this but she’s gonna be relevant

Like something something she’s been here, there’s an echo of her buried in the code. Maybe the game was based on her travels somehow. I kinda wanted Jay to be guided out of the code void by some sort of depiction of her

I kinda want Milton Dyer and Scott to have both somehow known Libber

Maybe libber really did abandon Jay. Maybe like Jay she also had issues that made her feel like she had to distance herself. Maybe there was a genuine reason and she was taken from him. Maybe the point of the season is that it’s hard to tell what happened in the past but that doesn’t stop you from carrying on in the future

Idk I just need there to be a more conscious parallel between jay and Unagami and themes of abandonment

There’s also some kind of theme of giving up not giving up seen with Scott, Okino and Blazey (racer 7), where they’re all encouraged to keep trying. I gotta do sometime with that idk…

Also the mechanic deserves to be cooler. Like can we make him more badass I want his villain resume to look so good that he actually qualifies as a Crystal council member

That’s all I had/have got for now but yeah! I do like most of the season I just think it has a lot more potential yknow

Hello! Little announcement.

As you all know, I released these links so that all may watch the entirety of Ninjago for free.

However, today I discovered that unfortunately, at least one of the episodes is missing. Episode Racer 7 from Prime Empire to be exact.

Turns out that the episode One Step Forward Two Steps Back, was released twice on Cartoon Network Asia. But under two different titles. The titles Racer 7 and One Step Forward Two Steps Back. Resulting in them seeming to have all episodes, but they in fact, do not. Unfortunately, since it is on Cartoon Network Asia, I am unable to to fix this.

Just wanted to let everyone know. I apologize for any inconvenience. If anyone has any safe, legal, trustworthy sites one which people may access these episodes, please let me know, so I may update the links.

I watched every Lego Ninjago review there is on YouTube, and when the topic of the worst piece of Ninjago we have gotten comes up, the answer is either the Hands of Time, or Day of the Departed, and I am so tired of it. Both of these are not great, they are not perfect that’s for sure but they are definitely not the worst.

While we all know the only reason Ninjago is still a running show is because it sells toys and Lego sets, the writers and the creators never leave us hanging and always make sure to give us something to enjoy and cherish, whether it is a good animation and wonderful scenery, or an amazing plot and great villains. However, there is one season, in my opinion, that unfortunately left me hanging and is leaving me hanging the more I rewatch it, and it is neither of the two that I mentioned before.

When constructing a season that will be added to an already running show, it is important to have one of the two main points (same goes for the books and movies): It needs to resolve a problem from a previous season that hasn’t been resolved or it needs to move characters forward, even if it is just one character in particular.

While every season after season 10: March of the Oni has been neglecting that fact, there is one in particular that doesn’t even have the tiniest bits of either.

“Would you like to enter prime empire?”

Season 12: Prime Empire, is in my opinion the worst piece of Ninjago media we have ever received and I have a very simple reason why: it does absolutely nothing with anything. If you erase the Prime Empire altogether, the only thing that will change in the show will be the first scene in Season 13: Master of the Mountain

And the two scenes in Season 15: Crystalized, which is a doomed season on its own, first being where Akino is the one who saves Nya from the Mechanic and the second one being where Racer 7 is the one who is driving Cole so he can contact Princess Vania, which could be altered in a second because no matter who does each of these things, the plot isn’t changed.

The entire plot of the Prime Empire is also very bland and reminds me way too much of Jumanji. They get stuck inside a game and instead of having to save themselves, they have of save themselves and Jay. *gasp* the plot twist!

Characters don’t move forward whatsoever and the only bit of development and character building, if we could even call it that considering the fact that it lasted 15 seconds, is when Jay confronts Unagami and mentions his biological parents and how their abandonment of him affected him while trying to relate to Unagami.

It’s also nice to mention that both of Jay related seasons somehow always end up with him and Nya till the last bit before something happens to Nya and Jay because of the feelings of loss somehow takes care of the problem. I have no problem with Jaya by any means, them and Pixane are the only ships I like from this show, but to make both Jay’s and Nya’s characters so focused on one another is in my opinion a wasted potential, when there are other four characters on the team and even more on the outside whose dynamics with the characters could have been explored instead.

There are also few things left unexplained that sometimes make my brain itch, like why couldn’t Zane enter prime empire if we literally saw him enter a digital world in Season 3: Rebooted, and literally nothing happened to him, not to mention he literally upgraded himself after he rebuilt himself in Season 4: Tournament of Elements, or how could literal characters from a video game live amongst humans in Ninjago, aren’t you made of pixels or something? Like are we forgetting that the Overlord, literal definition of power had to take Lloyd captive and almost drain all of his golden power just to get a physical form?

I kind of would’ve appreciated if we had gotten Jay & Cole focus season instead as we haven’t had much of their friendship for a while. Not to mention both of them enjoy video games so it could’ve been a great dynamic.

Although, even if we had gotten them instead, I don’t think my opinion would have changed much. Making a Ninjago season based on video games and technology and virtual world doesn’t fit into the original show one bit. The whole show is based around elemental powers, mythical creatures and centuries old wars, so to make a video game based season is something completely out of the show’s original focus.

Even back in Season 3: Rebooted, they had tried to give us technology based season and it didn’t exactly hit with the fans either, but is at least somehow tied to the original world. The whole idea of Ninjago becoming a modern city after the final battle is not a bad concept by any means, it was just too long in my opinion and should’ve had maybe 5 episodes instead of 8.

Overall, I personally find the Prime Empire the worst season of Ninjago, but that obviously doesn’t mean I hate anyone who enjoys it, I enjoyed it the first and second time I watched it because it is beautifully animated and has some funny moments here and there. I also enjoy almost every single piece of Ninjago media because the characters bring me so much joy even if they were ruined by the lack of character in later seasons.
