Sometimes venturing onto the For You side of Twitter sparks joy.
Tumblr media
Based take. Shoujo and Josei are fucking top notch, both in characters and art style (how can you not think they’re beautiful?)
Tumblr media
“Ruined the JJK and MHA fandoms” is WILD. I avoid fandoms for the most part (except perusing tumblr for the occasional fucking thesis women write about character motivations i love you women <3) because they usually suck. Seriously, I kept up with OPM for a bit because it was entertaining but holy shit the subreddit (very much full of men) is literally just… sexy woman. More sexy woman. Memes about artist constantly drawing sexy woman. Memes. Occasional power scaling arguments. Low quality page colorings of the exact same page. There is NOTHING. How the hell can women ruin the fandom when the fandom IS the women?!
It’s the women creating in depth analyses on characters; it’s the women writing fanfiction, creating doujinshis; it’s the women creating fandom centered accounts; it’s the women buying every new merch piece that comes out AND giving free advertising by posting about it online. And then men will go on and rag on women for doing all these things. It’s infuriating.
Longevity of a series is also something these idiots ignore. Seriously, look at Katekyo Hitman Reborn. The manga ended in 2012 and the creator is working on a different series. Katekyo Hitman Reborn still gets regular merch releases. This is a series that ended over a decade ago and still has an incredibly dedicated fanbase of, I wonder who, that regularly spends enough money to keep it consistent. You cannot look me in the eyes and tell me that series is supported mainly by men. I do not care how hard Amano Akira tried to alienate her female fans with her treatment of the female characters you know exactly whos spending the money based on who is constantly getting merch (minus the titular character, because of course he has to be there.)
Tumblr media
Honestly I don’t give a damn that fandom can often be absolute insanity; you get a group of people together and it’s always going to be a shitshow, that isn’t unique to fandom, people just like to pretend it is because as always, there’s an undercurrent of misogyny because people know women carry that shit but they only want to acknowledge it when they can use it to criticize them.
I love that she came for the JJK fandom as well. I’ve been following the series because honestly it is really fucking funny because it is the epitome of shounen tropes. The author literally baked them into the world. Explaining your abilities to the opponent makes them stronger. So this entire series you get giant pages of just white with text explaining every little fucking thing like theres a narrator standing over your shoulder making sure you can’t possibly miss anything on the first read. Fuck dude, I don’t mind exorbitant amounts of text in my manga, but you cannot be serious in pretending that is good writing. There’s a deus ex machina that every character can pull out of their ass called a binding vow. Black flash also falls into this category.
Hell, the latest arc has literally just been flashback after flashback playing during the battle of the characters forming a bunch of plans in preparation for the fight we currently are following. This is genuinely one of my most hated tropes. The characters just get off screen power ups that then get handwaved as “well we showed you the flashback right?” there is NO anticipation, any excitement you feel for the battle is purely manufactured rather than genuine. It’s not “I can’t wait to see how the growth I followed of these characters affects the battle” it’s “wow, what cool ability will they pull out of their ass next?” I hate it I loathe it and it’s even worse with emotional moments. Why couldn’t you write this into the story in the first place? Why are you giving it to me in a shitty flashback?
Maybe I didn’t explain it well enough because I launched into a rant. The reason I hated it so much is because it forced the reader to be an observer rather than an active participant in the manga. Everything is spoonfed to you. You don’t need to reread the chapters over and over to put together the pieces on how, where, and why each action took place, the author does that for you. You don’t see everything from a new perspective when you read it a second time, catching lots of things you may have missed because you’re not allowed to miss anything the author deems important.
I enjoy this manga. There is good things about it. But it is nowhere near the god manga (“kamige” would be the term if it was a visual novel; I don’t know a manga equivalent) men like to pretend it is. It genuinely seems like they think everything being explained every page is good writing.
Tumblr media
Based and succinct.
Tumblr media
Anyway, you shouldn’t restrict yourself from experiencing specific genres because they’re for “the lessers” because that’s actually fucking cringe and maybe you should touch a Josei manga, or even a Shoujo manga. Maybe it’ll open your eyes and you’ll realize, hey, women’s media is actually- oh who the fuck am I kidding just pull the trigger.

Star Trek: Discovery might have wrapped its fifth and final season, but it’ll never truly be over!
I’m currently seeking submissions for the first annual Celebrate Discovery Zine, a collection of art, fanfic, essays, poems, how-to’s, and photographs.
Submissions are open August 1-September 1, with publication scheduled for September 24. At this time, only a digital release is planned; however, a high-res, print-ready version will be available for anyone wanting to print the issue for themselves.
Submissions can be sent as attachments (rtf, doc, docx, pdf, jpg, or png) or in the body of the email to jordanlafordan [at] gmail.com. Please do not send links.
Nothing created using AI generative tools will be accepted.
Unfortunately, this is not a paid opportunity. Reprints (meaning the piece already appears elsewhere, like AO3, your blog, Tumblr, etc.) are welcome!
For all pieces:
- Star Trek characters, settings, timelines, etc, from other series are fine, but it must include something/someone from Discovery.
- Original Characters are welcome, as long as they’re Discovery-related.
- Don’t worry about canon, and any Discovery timeline is welcome.
- While thoughtful critique of Discovery is welcome, the intent of this zine is to celebrate the show.
For written pieces:
- Nothing over 3,000 words will be published, though if your piece is longer and available elsewhere or if you’re submitting one chapter of fanfic, we’ll provide a link to the rest of it.
- Content warnings will be included at the beginning of the piece, if applicable, though we won’t accept anything that includes sexual violence, violence toward animals or children, or “open door” physically intimate scenes.
For art and photographs:
- No depictions of sexual violence, violence toward animals or children, or nudity will be accepted.
- Please only send non-blurry, high-resolution images.
If you have any questions, please send an email to jordanlafordan [at] gmail.com, or send an ask!

okay, I have to ask — how do you like your kobo ereader??
I’ve been eyeing one for a while bc I really *don’t* want a kindle, but also *so* many people have a kindle that it feels like it’s the only real option
Holy crap I LOVE IT. It's so much better than the Kindle. (Also: this got long)
I decided to upgrade my old Paperwhite (it was a second gen, so pretty old and small) and I almost got a new Paperwhite automatically (cause I felt much the same as you).
But the Kobos were on the same page and since I'm trying to be less impulsive, I started poking around and they are so good.
I went with a black Libra 2 and it's like the software was actually designed for human beings, unlike the Kindle software, which I think was designed for no one except the devil.
I side-load only and keep all my books organised in collections. The only way to do collections on the Kindle is manually, one book at a time, or jailbreak (and I'm not sure you can jailbreak the new Paperwhites, plus it's such a PITA).
On the Kobo, I can build collections from within Calibre, super fast and multiple books at a time. You can also do them manually on the Kobo, but even that is SO MUCH EASIER than on the Kindle.
The actual screen reading experience is basically identical (you can even side-load the Kindle font if you want it), since e-ink is pretty much e-ink, but it has few extra 'while you're reading' tweaks, like setting the all around margin size of the book (great if you switch between books and comics) and controlling the presence of, and info in, the top and bottom bar (pages left in book, pages left in chapter, percentage left to go etc). It also has a brightness and a warmness setting, so you can tweak those til they're just right for you.
I'm loving the physical page turn buttons so much - way easier than having to swipe the screen. I can hold the Kobo in one hand and just page forward with my thumb. It's also a teeny tiny bit lighter than my old Paperwhite.
I also love that you can 'archive' any books you've bought from Kobo, so they don't show up on the e-reader (you can still get them from Kobo later if you want), unlike Amazon where they're always right there unless you delete them forever. Like I said, I side-load everything, I don't want to see the Amazon-displayed copies. I don't want to see the Amazon displayed ANYTHING.
Kobo also doesn't advertise to you. Even in a non ad-supported Kindle, the home page of the new Kindle software shows trending and suggested books. It's bloody advertising. The home page on the Kobo shows you things about your library, with a discrete text invitation at the bottom to find new books or make a wishlist. There is a 'Discover' tab where you can see suggested books and such, but you have to actively go there, which means you're seeing it because you want to see it.
It's very intuitive to use - there's tabs down the bottom that do what they say on the tin and the settings are clear what they do. If it goes to sleep on 'Books' it wakes up on 'Books'. If you have authors sorted by last name it shows them all sorted by last name (this was endless aggravation on the Kindle which seemed to have an 'I do whatever the fuck I like' approach). It displays a cute little 'sleeping' when it's asleep along with the cover of what you're currently reading (you can turn that last one off).
It natively supports a decent assortment of file types: KEPUB, EPUB, EPUB2, EPUB3, PDF, FlePub, MOBI, PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, TXT, HTML, RTF, CBZ and CBR.
I cannot recommend the Kobo Libra 2 highly enough. It's the damn bees knees and I wish I'd gotten one years ago. I can't ever see going back to the Kindle.
Some pics and Calibre details under the cut (which doesn't seem to be working, darn it).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(yes I have been rereading the Kitty series)
The Calibre plugins I grabbed are below, but tbh honest you don't really NEED any of them:
Tumblr media
I also converted my library to kepub, which isn't necessary, but gives you some nifty extra reading features.
To create Collections on your Kobo with Calibre
Decide what Calibre column you want to use for setting your Collections (I use tags, because I don't use it for anything else, but you can also make a new column in Preferences or use one of the others).
Make sure your Kobo is ejected then go to Preferences in the toolbar, locate the Import/export section, then click Sending books to devices.
For Metadata Management, choose Automatic management.
Click Apply.
Remain in Preferences, locate the Advanced section, then click Plugins.
Expand Device Interface.
Scroll down and select either Kobo Touch Extended, or if that's not present, KoboTouch.
Click Customize plugin.
Switch to the Collections, covers & uploads tab.
Checkmark Collections.
For Collections columns, enter the name of the Column you're going to use for Collections.
Checkmark Create collections.
Click OK.
Close Preferences and exit and restart Calibre.
Fancy up your library by putting your books in Collections and when you're done, Send to Device and those collections will be there, all nicely and satisfyingly organised on your Kobo.

Deadline: March 1st, 2024 Payment: Royalties Theme: Horror and dark romance novellas and novellas, series or stand alone Eerie is and has always been an inclusive publishing house. We would love to read manuscripts from all walks of life including BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA and marginalized humans. If you have a horror story, we want to read it. Eerie River Publishing only publishes a handful of novels a year. Regrettably, this means we will have to pass on some fantastic writing. We wish we could publish them all but the truth is we wouldn't be able to put the resources needed behind each project to make them a success. And that is what we are here to do.   We are an inclusive company that accepts submission from anyone regardless of race, gender or sexuality. We accept agented and non-agented submissions during our submission window. What are we looking for?HORROR & DARK FANTASY We are seeking high-quality, novel and novella series in horror and dark fantasy. The series should be two or more books within the same world or following the same characters throughout. At this time we are not interested in short story collections, erotica, strictly religious fiction, YA Fiction, or poetry. We want unique, well-crafted stories with compelling plots, terrifying twists, and entertaining characters, for mature audiences. Give us your grim, heart-wrenching twist. The perfect story would balance the light and the dark pieces of the storyline with humour, alongside the emotional twists and turns. In essence, if you can evoke a gambit of emotion throughout the story then we will be hard-pressed to say no.   Manuscripts should be written in good taste, and be aimed for a mature audience. As this is horror we expect the scary and horrible, and we encourage a step toward darker, more horrific tones within the storyline. We won't shy away from some use of violence and gore. However, we will not be accepting any manuscripts with detailed rape scenes, pedophilia, sexual torture, or untoward behaviours regarding animals of any kind (you know exactly what we mean). Novel submissions should be under 100,000 words.  Novella submissions should be approximately 25,000 - 60,000 words. Please ensure that you are sending us the best version of your story to be reviewed. For novel novella and series, the first of the series should be completed in full, have already undergone beta readings, editings and revisions, and an outline of the next books should be in place and ready to discuss.  Submission GuidelinesWe will be moving towards a form submission for these initial submissions. SUBMISSION FORM DETAILS: This is a list of all the fields and questions on the form.   Tell us who you are! Legal name, pen name, where you are published (if you are), and let us get to know you a bit. Please include your social media links.   A brief outline & word count. Give us the rundown of the story, main plot arcs, twists and ending. Please include the word count in this section.   Upload section: Sample Manuscript - The manuscript's first three chapters in a Word document. Please title your sample manuscript as "(Your Book Title) - Chapters ". Please send only doc, .docx, or .rtf format. We will not be reading any other format. PDF's will not be read. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: We will be asking for the first THREE chapters of your story as a doc/x file for consideration. Please have this ready and formatted for upload.   Manuscripts must be completed in the Shunn style format, so please review the hyperlink for details on acceptable formatting. We will only be reading and considering unpublished and original works. This does include works published on websites, author pages, Reddit, and any other forum or site found on the internet. How to submit: Complete the form once the submission window has opened.  If you have issues with the form you may send your information to: [email protected], and for clarity please title your email as "Novel (Novella) - Title - Author Name"
COMPENSATION We will be offering a competitive royalty rate and a decisive marketing plan. We are looking for Worldwide English rights for paperback, hardcover, eBook, merchandise and audio. Authors will be paid 40% royalties for net eBook sales with a chance to increase to 50% should a specific threshold of sales be met. Details of the exact contract will be discussed between the author and the publishing house.  As an indie publishing house we want to work alongside authors who are focused, and who are ready to sell their novels and novellas with us. Just like the "Big Five" publishing companies, we will work with you to market your book to the best of our ability. We will also help create a list of recommendations, as well as a schedule for you to make sure that you are grabbing the attention of potential readers during the pre-launch. We believe creating a street team to spread the word is vital, especially in this age of social media. Readers want to know about the authors they are reading, so a social media presence is paramount.   Getting your print books into the big box stores is nearly impossible without first proving you can generate sales, so our aim is to focus on eBook, local book stores and potentially audiobooks until we can approach the larger corporations. FAQ How long will it take for a response? Our goal is to respond to every query within 60 days of the initial submission. Should we request a full manuscript for review, please note this will take between 3 - 6 months after the submission window has closed.  What if my manuscript is picked up somewhere else? Congratulations! We know this happens, but please realize that we are devoting a lot of time to reading and reviewing. Please tell us immediately so we can take it out of consideration.   What about other genres?  They will be coming, trust us. We want to be able to do all of the dark genres right now as well, but we have realized the only way we can service our authors the best way is to start with one step at a time.   What about short story collections for single authors? At this time we are not looking to expand the story collection series past our open submission call-outs. That being said, we do have an existing contract with some authors that we have an agreement with and will be publishing those.   Do you want my work professionally edited? No, but we do expect a finely-tuned manuscript with minimal errors so we recommend having someone beta read for errors and inconsistencies. A beta reader can be a friend, family member or fellow author, as long as they're someone who will read your manuscript and provide feedback. The goal of having a beta reader is to have them find some inconsistencies with plots, missing or extra words, and give impressions of characters and the overall story. You don't have to hire someone to do this, but it is highly recommended that you do not miss this step. What gives me the best chances to get published? Here is a very simple list of what makes a good story great, and what we are looking for when we read your manuscripts: an original concept characters who are relatable, who are interesting and have believable behaviours, motives, and relationships with other characters strong and fluid dialogue that sounds believable when read multiple strong plot points throughout horror - We want to be scared Are you a vanity press? No. There is never a fee for submitting to us (for this, or any, of our anthology calls). If your manuscript is selected for publication there is no cost. We take on all the financial responsibility of putting the book together, such as editing, creating the cover, formatting, marketing, etc. If you have any other questions feel free to send us an email, or you can contact us on Facebook or Twitter.  Via: Eerie River Publishing.

so excited for flowers and thorns!! absolutely loved how your prose adapted to the universe and really put you in that old-timey, asoiaf feeling. james and lily are GREAT i can’t wait to see where their unwilling attraction takes them lmao.
also, side note, if you don’t like html formatting, why don’t you use rich text (and then just fix the annoying italics space it does when you reread)? i find it easier, but maybe you have a preference!
THANK YOU! i have been rereading dunkegg/relistening to the main series to get the vibe right haha. going to have to squeeze in a “naked as their nameday” mention somewhere… i especially love the big cast of it all because we all know i adore a random secondary character, and (spoiler alert) ive squeezed many into this one because there’s going to be time jumps between chapters!
re: rich text, that’s my preference actually but i write in scrivener and it doesn’t copy formatting when i paste directly from it into rich text on ao3. not a me problem, scriv users have worked out many a workaround. i used one last night that compiled my doc into a .rtf file, which was fine except that it parsed line breaks as br rather than p so it was one ugly text block, which I belieeeeve is because i don’t use two hard returns to get to the next para in scriv, i just use a first line indent. which is way more info than you asked for lol but what i was coding ln was really just replacing all the br’s with p (and i just noticed that I missed one 😭)
anyway, this is mostly because it’s been like 6 months since i last posted anything and i’ve since remembered i had my own workaround (export to word doc then paste in google doc THEN copy to ao3 rich text lmfao) so i might switch back to that. or do some digging to figure out how to get my scrivener compile format to include my para breaks since that’s way less work for me and surely there’s a way.

Remember the Flowers (Sci-Fi Visual Novel)
So most visual novels I've talked about on this blog have been from Echo Project, a development studio that is famous in the furry visual novel scene for making some of the most acclaimed VNs in the furry fandom and for actually completing some of them. Remember the Flowers isn't made by them though. Its creator, primary writer, and artist are all Jericho. The only connection it has to Echo Project is that its music is done by Anthemics, who's a regular OST composer for Echo Project games like Arches, Khemia, Interea, and a few tracks on the Smoke Room. Because of that, the soundtrack to this VN is really stellar, as most of Anthemics' work is.
Now I will warn you that it is really hard to not spoil this game as the story contains two really major twists that precede some of the best parts of the entire game. I will try though. With that out of the way, the game starts with the protagonist having a nightmare before waking up in the middle of class. He's a college student who's sort of coasting by on his journey to become a doctor. After correcting his teacher on his lesson after he was caught napping in class, he soon gets dismissed and makes some plans for a date with his boyfriend before taking a nap in his dorm room. When he wakes up, he's in the middle of a dark alley with long white hair, a bloody headwound, medical scrubs, and the inability to remember basic details about himself. Fortunately, he's found by Cooper, whose job it is to find humans like the protagonist and take them to a safe haven called Resoom where he can get help once he's safe. It's only now that you find out this world the protagonist is waking up in is a futuristic scifi dystopian world, unlike the more or less regular modern setting the story started in, but with some characters who are anthropomorphic characters, because furry.
Now before I threaten to spoil the game, let's go over some positives. The biggest one I have is the serialization. One problem a lot of unfinished visual novels have is that they have a hard time finding a place to pause the story before the next update. Arches does this pretty well while 9:22 does this really poorly. Remember the Flowers, thankfully, not only has chapters that begin and end in pretty good places but it also has groups of chapters called "Arcs". Each Arc could be a visual novel in its own right and it makes RtF feel like a compilation of a VN series rather than one long VN. This is especially good because the creator is not working on this game as their main job, so they can't afford to do frequent releases. However, the structure makes it so you can just read to the end of the last completed arc and be satisfied with waiting until the next arc is completed. Each arc is bookended by a major twist or a major character revelation that sets the new status quo of the next arc. The first arc is definitely the weakest one, as the only major character besides the protagonist is Cooper and it provides a lot more mysteries than answers. However, the second one is my favorite, but the third and so far last completed one is really a great contender if not for the fact there's not a lot to do except hang out, but the character exploration is really fantastically done.
Now for other positives, the protagonist, Cyrus, is probably the most well-written human protagonist in a furry VN. Human protagonists have a very terrible reputation in furry VNs for being extremely bland player-insert characters whose self-identity is so non-existent that you usually get to pick their names. It's such a negative stereotype in fact that Furry VN databases usually include "Human Protagonist" as a tag to filter out. Even Adastra falls into this trap to an extent. But Cyrus is not a bland character. For a few things, he's asexual and has a pre-established boyfriend, childhood friends, and his own career path and interests. Although he still has about as much personality as Marco in Adastra at the beginning of the game, as the plot progresses and he finds out more about himself and the world around him, he slowly has more and more personality and development to his character and the fact he sorta fills the role of a player-insert early on makes the dramatic beats hit that much harder, because then the progression to what he's like later on makes so much more sense, because you can't help but imagine that if you were in his place, you would probably end up the exact same way. This is exemplified in the text. In the first arc, he's just wide-eyed and curious. In the second, he's maintaining a much more critical outlook, trying to assess everyone he meets and every piece of information he gets carefully. In the third, he's robotic and describes everything very matter-of-factly. He feels like he's talking in the third-person for how bluntly he describes everything. But he does start to get back in touch with his humanity as the arc goes on. However, in the fourth arc, while he's almost back to his old self, there's a distinct lack of self-regard or care for his own well-being. And each step from the beginning of the game to the last update feels natural.
Now I did make it clear that the first arc has some problems. It's unfortunately very slow and not a lot happens. Most of it is used for some broader establishing information, but the actual plot is boringly simple. Cyrus goes home with Cooper and spends a day or two at his house, he then goes with Cooper to get some supplies, and they hop on a train to the pickup spot. Until the arc-ending twist, that's most of what happens. And because Cooper and Cyrus are the only major characters of that arc, there's not a lot of dynamic to play off of and because Cooper is very secretive, there's also not a lot of information to find out. In the second arc, you get introduced to 4 major characters, 3 of which have their own dynamics with each other who are also a lot less stingy with information and a lot more open about their backgrounds and who they are. And any information they do withold, they make sure to explain why they are witholding it and that in itself can give you something to mull over, or it can inform their characters, such as Axel who withholds the absolute minimum information he's been commanded to, Ring who is very stingy with what he reveals and rarely reveals basic information except on accident, and Rose who barely conceals any information if she can manage to remember it. Also, they do reveal most of what they are witholding anyways by the end of the arc. So by contrast, the 2nd and 3rd arcs are very entertaining and well-paced even if it does get a little slice-of-life-ish by the third arc. I wouldn't recommend skipping the first arc though. It still has its moments and there's a lot of important information in it you can't miss.
I'd say Remember the Flowers is definitely a great visual novel even in its unfinished state, especially since it's more like a game series anyways. I highly recommend it and I would do that even for first time players. If you want your first furry visual novel to not feel like a dating sim, then RtF is a really good choice. I would recommend it over Adastra only to people who really don't need visual novels to be completed to like them. With that said, until next time, keep on yiffing

Aksak Maboul - Une aventure de VV (Songspiel) (Made to Measure Vol. 48)
In the wake of their acclaimed comeback album 'Figures' (2020), Aksak Maboul took a playful sideways step to create this total work, a 63-minute, continuous suite of fifteen pieces, which could be described as an experimental audio play. The thread running through 'Une aventure de VV (Songspiel)' is Véronique Vincent’s text, an enigmatic philosophical-poetical tale unfolding through monologues and dialogues, spoken and sung by a series of characters, played by Alig Fodder, Laetitia Sadier, Audrey & Benjamin from Aquaserge, Don The Tiger, Blaine L. Reininger, and the members of Aksak Maboul’s current live band: Faustine Hollander, Lucien Fraipont & Erik Heestermans. The music was written & arranged by Marc Hollander and features his characteristic genre-hopping tendencies: strands of electronica, pop, jazz, collage, techno, ambient, improv, krautrock, contemporary classical & systems music are merrily woven together, in the inimitable Aksak Maboul style. The album’s subtitle, 'Songspiel', highlights its theatrical/musical aspect: the work pays oblique homage to the those experimental radio plays that once emerged from the creative workshops of the BBC, the RTF and the RAI, and especially to those German Hörspiels which, at their best, might combine spoken word, instrumental or electronic music, songs and sonic research. Une aventure de VV also modestly alludes to certain stage works written by adventurous composers during the first half of the 20th century, which embraced singing, spoken dialogues and elements inspired by popular music. Those composers sometimes invented genre names to describe their pieces: fantaisie lyrique, mimodrama, or... songspiel).

I'm looking for beta readers for book three of the Darkspace Portent series, Thriving: Rebirth! There is no limit to how many readers I'll accept. And I'm tagging @drippingmoon because I'm fairly certain I'd be beaten within an inch of my life if I didn't 😩 (kidding of course)
Prerequisites:
18+ only, for the love of god
you don’t have to be following me!
must have read the published versions of books one AND two (for feedback clarity)—you can find purchase links here
What I’m Looking For:
Here's a questionnaire for you! Please read everything carefully!
I can provide the draft by sending you:
an email with the file type of your preference (I can do .pdf, .docx, .rtf, and .odt), AND/OR
a link to a Google Doc of the draft created just for you (meaning no one else has access to that copy but you)
If you're interested, you can reach out through tumblr or discord! My discord username is artdecosupernova and I'm willing to add people who aren't interested in beta reading as well.
Things to Know:
▷ Should you receive a Docs link, I ask that the comments feature be used ONLY for commentary you may have, and to keep critique/feedback in the questionnaire. That said, of course, commentary is NOT required (but I love it 😁).
▷ Rebirth has MATURE CONTENT, including but not limited to drug mention/use, scenes of a sexual nature, and violence. Please keep in mind!
▷ I have not had the patience or the spoons to make this draft sound pretty. Things like word choice and repetitive words and sentence structure (I don't even have the spoons to properly figure out what the hell I'm trying to say) will be dealt with after the beta reading process cuz I'm gonna need the break lmao
What is Thriving: Rebirth?
After waking up on a strange planet to a full-on war between what have become the Consortium worlds and an alliance hell-bent on taking control of the Milky Way, Warren falls into a brand-new existence while getting used to being mutually in love with Thrive. The two of them embark on a mission to round up a team of elite individuals with the purpose of taking down the Blue Prince Hyret, the Morrite head of civil unrest, all while the Emmuli start to reach out directly, toying with Thrive and Warren’s sense of security and reality.
Bonus Content:
All beta readers will get exclusive BONUS SCENES (unedited and as-is) in your format of choice (Docs, .pdf, etc.). They are part of one file and will be titled and separated so hopefully you'll be able to jump to/skip any scene you'd like.
(There will be explicit bonus scenes! I've labeled them so they're easy to avoid (or find 👀))
As of posting this I have not quite finished the bonus content, but rest assured it will get to you. It's hella spoilery, so, sending it to you when you're done would probs be better anyway.
Deadline (⚠IMPORTANT!⚠):
...There is none. If you're committed but busy, that's totally fine. If you need time to buy and read the first two books, go for it. All I ask is that you give me some updates here and there about progress so I know what's going on.

dear nunun,
what medias have you been consuming as of late. I wish to know about them but I believe the messenger pigeon is occupied or sick.

Dear pen pal,
Outside of the obvious one, I recently became enamored with a game called Fear and Hunger, or funger for short! It's pretty dark and gritty, with a really clear berserk inspiration, but it's also full of really interesting world building and characters. I love all of the stuff with the gods and the moon scorching forms! D'arce is sooo silly I love that gal :}
I tried rewatching ATLA some time ago and I still haven't finished it.... I'm bad at watching stuff oops.
I HAVE rewatched all two seasons of drawtectives recently for no reason, but that series is really short and fun and good background noise so I just put it on while doing chores.
Also the starkid musicals, I actually watched Starship and HMB for the first time not long ago and I listened to some of the songs from them on repeat for several days straight. I also watched Into The Woods, and it's soo good and I can't believe it's free on YouTube! The costumes and the set are just magical!!!
I also can't wait for news regarding the Order DLC for Splatoon, I just need some new sploon content pleeease Nintendo... I came up with a whole Splatoon/HS au right after the third game came out and I'm still working on it from time to time, tho I haven't posted anything about it on here. I did draw some Splatoon OC's a while ago that i still really like and I wanted to make a post about them, so here's a thing with them. I love my girls who don't have names.
Tumblr media
Um yeah that's all I can think of! Outside of me rewatching all of the sonic RTFs but I do that constantly so I don't really count it. Waiting to hear what you've been consuming recently, in terms of media OR snacks!
With love,
Nunun.
