Hello
Here I am again. ;( Firstly, I hope everyone is well ♥. Well, I don't even know where to start. But let's go… Many people know that I'm Brazilian, but I don't think they know that I live exactly in the south of Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (yes, I'm from Rio Grande do Sul ♥). Unfortunately, our state is going through a catastrophic emergency situation due to flooding caused by the high volume of rain and poor management of the cities' water drainage system. I had plans to return to The Sims community later this month, but due to the difficulties we are facing I believe it will take a little longer (which I hope I'm wrong…). In addition to struggling to support myself in a country with high taxes, we still have to face the calamity in which our state finds itself. Unfortunately, the rain returned and with that the water rose again in many cities, which ended up making the situation even worse. I really wouldn't want to ask for help because it's not your fault for anything that's happening here, but if you feel like helping in any way, I'll leave the link below for donations. Thank you so much for everything ♥.

You have no idea the pain it is. I´ve lived 10 years in Rio Grande do Sul. My wife was born there. This beautiful pink building, a museum Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana, is now flooded, to the second floor. #Rio Grande Do Sul

My fandom connection really, really is yet again my source of sanity. I'm in the middle of the worst natural ecological disaster in the history of the country and everywhere I look the feeling of helplessness is indescribable. 75% of cities of the state are completely underwater due to massive rain and there's no forecast predicting to stop raining. Because of terrible political decisions (that honestly, could see all of them coming as well as many people, but actually living the bad decisions happen is much worse and maddening) we're basically on our own, the civil population is doing everything: rescuing, collecting donations, gathering information, organising shelter.
The most panic inducing part is that May isn't even a rainy season. It rains, alright, but it's supposed to be the easiest of the rainy seasons. September and February are much, much worse.
It's not even a matter of being prepared for the next one because there isn't a way to contain this amount of water. When I say cities are completely underwater I don't mean people are able to walk on it---I mean the light polls of public illumination are underwater. That's above the roof height of a normal one-floor house
We can't protect ourselves for the next one and the next one will happen. This is not something we can control because that's the consequences of decades of abusing natural resources and overheating the planet. It's 120% a consequence of global warming.
Did you know that one European baby already consumes more natural resources than an adult of an in development country? And then of course, because the global north has (all) the resources, they feel much lighter consequences. Meanwhile, we get the heavy rains.
But sure, continue to build your not-walkable cities so you can take your car to go cross the street. Continue to over produce food. Continue to explore global south countries for their resources, to buy foreign lands to burn the native ecosystem for monoculture, to take airplanes to travel 50km, to buy from big international franchises while ignoring local economy, to overconsume and posses more than you can store, to wrap every organic food in 3kg of plastic or big boxes, to produce as much trash as you could, to make a pollutant factory just to overprocess your food, to not consume your own natural resources, to demand out-of-season foods, to put poison in your plantations, to allow your governments to continue to not do anything about it, and to feed your billionaires. Because they aren't ours.
I'm fine, I'm safe. I have food, energy, water and even internet. For now, I live a relatively safe place.
It's just distressing to know there's absolutely nothing, zero things about this whole catastrophe that is in our reach of prevention because it's bigger, much much bigger than all of us together.
And that we won't even be news until somewhere in Europe or in the US get their own catastrophe.

Hey there, I feel like this is a necessary post because we have some Brazilian girlies here.
The southern state of Brazil, my state, is literally underwater right now, thousands of people lost their homes, some died and some are missing due to heavy flooding. If you're in one of the affected areas, please be careful, pay attention to the news as some emergency numbers aren't working anymore, they're sharing new ones. Seek safe shelter, either with family members or the public ones. There's also a risk of dam failure, the Civil Defense is constantly updating on those, be aware to know when you have to evacuate the area. If you can help with donations or even sharing the news to get to more people, you're more than welcome. I'll leave some links showing how to help. Please be safe, it's a disaster out there! And no matter what your personal belief is, please pray for those people.
Civil Defense - To get updates on the situation
SC Internacional - To donate
Grêmio - To donate
Public shelter in Porto Alegre

Hey guys.. I decided to come here and talk about a serious topic today.
The southern of Brazil (my state) has been going through some really tough times.. last week in 48 hours rained the equivalent of three months of rain.. 330 cities of our 493 were affected… entire cities were destroyed and are still underwater.. is hard to put everything into words but we basically have to build our state from zero.. so I’m leaving this link were you can find a place to donate if you can or just share this post to spread the word! Even if you can only donate an small amount remember that U$1 is equivalent to R$5

HUNDREDS OF BRAZILIAN CITIES ARE UNDER WATER
Hello, my non brazilian followers! I don't know if you already know the situation in Brazil right now, but heavy rains caused widespread flooding in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Now, hundreds of towns under water. People lost their houses, animals, everything, a lot of people died and a lot are still not found.

‼️‼️STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS PLEASE‼️‼️
In brazil, there's been having a lot of floods in the southern region of the country, more specifically in the state of Rio Grande do Sul
Tumblr media
Every day people are dying , cities are submerged, a single city was erased from the map for being totally underwater.
Tumblr media
"Sadly the city of Eldorado RS, doesn't exist anymore - The city was totally covered by water"
Everyday, people have to witness everything they've built get lost admist the water, people have to live with floating bodies of adults, children, toddlers, newborns, animals, dogs, cats, elders, every possible life in these cities are being taken away by the floods.
Tumblr media
People spend day and night on rooftops, waiting for boats to save them, but not everyone comes out alive.
Tumblr media
Hear this audio:
The man says: "Hey Gabriela, deal with what I'll tell you now, there was three children at the boat with me, one of them asked me to pick up a doll that was floating, and I went to grab the doll. It wasn't a doll, it was a baby, a dead baby."
It's the reality of what's happening in Brazil right now when you're reading this.
Tumblr media
Sadly, I can't share more than one video here on Tumblr, but theres an audio of a woman thanking her parents for everything, saying she loved them and asking them to take care of her dog Maicon, in the audio, she said she didn't feel her legs, that she felt like she was hallucinating, that the water was almost at her chin, that she was about to die, that her other dog died. After the woman spoke, the sound of the roof breaking and falling was heard in the background, sounds of water splashing, and after the audio was sent, she died, submerged in the ruins of her own underwater house.
We can't do much, but if whoever is seeing this post could donate for help, it would be a step closer to salvation of more and more people.

i am really never going to understand why people post "shifting antis dni" in the astral projection tag. "here practice that constantly gets appropriated by us and used as a weird justification for a new set of beliefs that aren't really based in the same reality you work with, and that also gets completely misunderstood by our community because we don't care to understand what you do and just pretend we know it's what we do like christians saying other religions worship the christian god, have a post! Also dni if you don't like our practice that has nothing to do with the one whose tag we just shoved this into"
if you're not astral projecting don't put shit in the ap tag. if you don't even know the difference between AP and RS I dont think your opinion holds enough weight to counter the pushback against flooding a separate practice's tag with "if you dont like the practice I'm talking about in your tags dni"
#I mean on the other hand I sure am Not Interacting my god#Im not of the opinion RS isnt a thing. I know its a thing - its a complex programming of mental spaces that branches off of#actually. I wont say it branches off things. Its its own thing like autovisions dreams mindspaces and other simulations - but it is#ultimately mindwalking - or whatever term someone else would want to use I just coined that for myself. It's travelling and projecting#into the Mental Realm. which is. explicitly. not the Astral realm. It's still a thing! It's not lucid dreaming or imagination. Very much th#early stages of it and experiences of those who cant programme the reactive mental into settling are gonna be lucid dreams and#imagination - just like what happens when youre not good at AP. but like. it's. a fucking. separate practice#and i do not understand flooding tags that arent what youre talking about and then saying ''dni if you dont like what im talking about''#like yeah theres an element of ''dont blame people for how others treat them'' - its not a case of ''you piss people off and then expect#them to not hate you?'' its explicitly a case of... you are continuously misunderstanding AP and using it as a backing#for your own practices and mixing up the two showing you have fucking No idea what youre doing with AP... so how else are we#supposed to take RS other than ''its a complete misunderstanding of AP and clearly it isnt even developed enough as a practice nor#based on enough truth to have its practitioners have the slightest clue about off-plane and OOB practices... if this is what RSers think of#the world and how it works and this is the depths of their understanding of it I cant support Shifting as anything more than#fantasy with vague references to established practices used incorrectly as justification''#~abyssal murmurs#like. tldr. youre putting it in the way of a tonne fo Anti Shifters because a) youre putting it in the tags of an art your art steals#justification from and chronically chooses to misunderstand and walks all over and b) you're showing a complete disrespect to the#practice of AP by posting this in the tags showing that your ''information'' and ''teaching'' is so misinformed you think AP and RS#are the same thing... so of course people are going to see that and think negatively of your practice. Not out of spite - but as a reaction#in the way of you are showing us that your practice is shallow and misunderstood#Look! If i walk into a jewish theology lesson and the speaker is convinced christianity and judaism are the same religion#to the point that when they post on social media they tag both when they talk about either... it looks like that speaker is clueless if the#cant even getthe basics of ''So what is it that I'm teaching about?'' answered right. If you cant even define the boundaries#of your practice as ''this is our practice this isnt'' then why is anyone going to think what youre teaching is real and grounded#and worth listening to and anything more than a crock of shite based on sounding mystical and Love and Light and freeing#at the cost of turning your mind off to just Believe what youre doing is grounded outside the mental??? why would people NOT#see these posts and BECOME antis

Hey guys. I live in Rio Grande do Sul, but fortunately my city wasn't as affected as the others, at least for now...
It'd be great if you could help my state and reblog! The situation here is very worrying and chaotic
Hi!
As some of you might know, southern Brazil, specifically the state of Rio Grande do Sul, has been struck by heavy rains and a consequential flood. The rains started on monday (29/abr) and only stopped today (5/mai), in Porto Alegre ─ the state capital, and the city i live in ─ and in the other cities nearby.
The lake that borders PoA (named Guaíba) has reached more than 5m up its normal level. This is higher than on the historic 1941 flood. The city's center ─ a big residential and commercial hub, beyond being the host of most of our public services (such as the city hall and the state government) ─ is completely taken by the water. Many other neighbourhoods were also affected.
Smaller cities that also border Guaíba were even more heavily affected, such as Eldorado do Sul, whose territory was almost 100% flooded.
The state is, for a lack of a better word, abandoned by the people that were supposed to aid.
Our governor, Eduardo Leite, is more worried about his plitical campaign ─ making dramatic videos, changing his facebook pfp to one of him with a public defense vest, making streams with no useful information ─ than with the people's lives. This year, he destinated only R$50.000 (~ USD250.000) for the Civil Defense. For the entire year. He is now, delegating the responsibility of recuperating our state to the Federal Government, stating that "the rbuilding of the RS will demand a Marshall Project".
Porto Alegre's mayor, Sebastio Mello, has vanished. He sold our city out to big enterprises ─ Melnick, Zaffari and Panvel, mainly ─, and hasn't destined any public resources to maintaining the Mauá wall (a wall built after the 1941 flood with a system made to protect the city from other floods), which caused many points to fail and the water to invade the city.
This is the danger we all face with a neoliberal system.
Neoliberalism is an individualist ideology. All these people and companies I named did close to nothing to help us. Or even made it worse. The Civil Defense, for example, published a map of all the areas that would be affected, but had to take it back, since it didn't consider the topography.
Its the people for the people.
This situation is being aided by people using their own resources. Donations of various natures and volunteer work. It is very beautiful, in a way. It shows that colaboration and union can do great things. It shows, at least to me, that the world can reach, one day, a self sustaining way of living, contrary to the ultra-individualistic capitalism some preach. Humans can, and are, good.
But it also lays out how much the people that govern us failed us.
Human lives were lost because of their negligency.
This flood isn't normal. It is a product of the huge levels of degradation multi-billionaire companies are causing the world, supported by higher class and their representatives. Eduardo Leite changed almost 500 points of our state's Environmental Code, for the worst, when he was first elected in 2019. His actions, and the actions of all other neoliberal politicians, such as our ex-president Bolsonaro, are what created this situation. They are responsible for everything that is going on here.
This flood isnt the only environmental crisis this state has faced in the last 6 months. This isn't the last one that will happen.
This text is, beyond a personal vent, a warning. We need to keep fighting against a system that is actively trying to kill us. Please, do not support ideals and people ─ especially if said people will rule you ─ that go against the environment, that preach that the capital, the money, the posesions, are more important than lives. Of the people, of the animals, of the environment. Fight for a better world, i know there can be one.
Always be aware of the climate in your areas. Things like this won't happen only here. Please be safe.
Sorry for the long post.
If you're interested in donating, @decaf-lesbian made this post with some links for international and national donations.
-> If you're from Brasil, check this link, that has a copilation of maps of risk areas, shelters, places to donate to, etc, made by a UFRGS student.

Hello everyone,
Brazil is underwater, and we come here asking you for your help.
As some of you may know, the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) has been getting torrential rains since last Monday (29/04/24).
In four days, it has rained 436,2 millimeters (17,2 inches), which’s triple the normal amount in a month, which is 140 millimeters (5,5 inches)
More than two great rivers in our region had their volume duplicated, or sometimes, triplicated in size.
This means all the cities that are close to these rivers ended up completely underwater
There were more than 110 towns flooded and the estimate is that more than half a million people have been affected by this climate disaster. There are also thousands of people who are arriving in my city (the state capital, Porto Alegre) as climate refugees, coming from communities displaced by the floods.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Through this unprecedented tragedy we have been really happy to see entire communities mobilizing to help others. Still, there are people who have lost everything, especially those in marginalized communities living in precarious, unsafe and unsanitary housing.
That’s where you come in. We need money. Money to buy food, clothes, medicine, basic hygiene products, mattresses so that refugees have a place to sleep, basically everything.
Right now, the biggest demand is drinkable water: my city is almost completely out of water, because the water treatment stations have been flooded.
We understand that you may be able to give very little, but also what is little to you means A Lot more to us. Just a dollar is enough to buy 5 liters of fresh water.
Here are the links for international donations:
(these donations are managed by people I know and trust. if you can, donate to them and not the government, but I’ll include that below as well. we don't trust the government to do anything right now, basically)
This is another option:
Government donations:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here is some international news coverage of what’s happening:
PLEASE share and donate anything you can. Everything is greatly appreciated.
