ROTCIV - Your Highness (Das Komplex Remix) by Luv Shack Records Get it here: https://ift.tt/33OXTWS The dynamic duo of ROTCIV and Das Komplex are back on Luv Shack Records to finish off what they started with the "Magic Silk #1 EP" in 2019. Das Komplex' "Jak Mozna Nie Mówic O Pesymizmie" (wich translates to "how can you not speak about pessimism") is boasting with psychedelic effects, polish spoken words and a plethora of funky disco tropes, all cumlinating in a 10 minute super disco jam. Hot on the heels come two ROTCIV remixes of Das Komplex' "Silk" from the first Magic Silk EP. The "Electric Dub" is a broken electro workout with a tight industrial beat, lush synth patterns, dubbed out percussions and an array of weird FX. The "Transmix" comes with a driving 4tothefloor groove and an italo-esqe synth bassline at the heart of the mix, while still maintaining the pittoresqe atmosphere of the original with layers of heavily mangled effects. On "Space Explore", ROTCIV constructs a complex slow burner, setting up an eerie atmosphere of digital soundbytes, vocal snippets, ghostly strings and fat synth pads on top of a cosmic disco groove. Lastly, Das Komplex remixes "Your Highness", adding a classic disco groove with lots of analog percussion, funky guitars and a quirky synth bass-sequence, creating instant euro-disco nostalgia. i would define my handwriting as cursive and messy lol, judge for yourself!

i honestly quite like it! i sometimes wish it was a bit more neat, but it's as good as it gets i guess. and yes, it has changed quite a bit! when i first started to write, as it's usual here, i started with cursive before switching to round letters when i learned them in english class (in spanish class cursive was mandatory!) i used round letters until around 7th / 8th grade, when - and for some reason i remember this clearly - during music class i saw my classmate writing in cursive, and i started copying him cause i thought it looked pretty... and I haven't stopped since lol

as you can see in my class notes i alternate between lower and upper case; basically i use upper case with important information and lower case for the rest (i copied this from my philosophy teacher in 12th grade lol). i also prefer using upper case in short phrases or when I have to write something for another person to read, as it's easier that way.

Obscure Star Trek aliens 3:

The Rotciv

These guys turn up several times as minor players throughout the franchise. The name is Victor backwards, after Victor Sein, the first actor under the makeup in TNG. The guy pictures is a crewmember on the USS Excelsior. A Rotciv named Pardshay worked on Kasidy Yates’s ship.

We don’t know much about these guys, except that they’re probably in the Federation. The makeup is reused in Voyager but since they’re in the Delta Quadrant it’s probably not the same race. There’s a whole lot of alien species who look just like humans so why shouldn’t some other aliens have lookalikes?

A1. Space Echo - Soul Power - LUV011 by Luv Shack Records With release nr. 11, Luv Shack Records are once again eager to exalt the diversity of their releases, while keeping up the quality. LUV011 is the split EP of the two up and coming electronic music duos "Manhooker" and "Space Echo". Whilst both projects are still relatively new to the scene, they have equally made a stir with their first releases. Manhooker consists of the two Berliners by choice Tomasz “Guiddo” Switala and Sebastian “Mavin” Magassouba. Their first release appeared on Ostgut Ton´s sublabel 'Unterton' and their second EP was recently released on german heavy hitters 'Sonar Kollektiv' - a collab with ex New Yorker Snax, featuring a remix by Justus Köhncke. With 'Pushin & Shovin', Manhooker are once again evoking the spirit of classic soulful house hymns. It's an uplifting mix of 90s organs, filtered arpeggios and thick drums all held together by an acid bassline and Mavin´s shimmering vocals. And not to forget the trumpet solo! The remix of 'Pushin & Shovin' comes from Brazilian wunderkind ROTCIV (who has already remixed Manhooker on their Unterton release). He strips off the smoothness of the original in favor of a more raw and analogue vibe. Its groove seems like a merger of modern electro and classic house, and although ROTCIV´s trademark stabs and pads are used quite ecstatically on this remix, the song structure remains just as strong as in the original. On The flipside we have Space Echo, the duo of Viennese producer caTekk and (Luv Shack`s very own) Lee Stevens. Their first ever production as a duo was a remix for none other than Austra on Domino Records. They're offering two equally powerful cuts on the B-side; 'Soul Power' is nothing short of a club burner. A mighty and continuously building ride of funk organs and disco drums, all with a delightfully modern touch. When the vocal kicks in for the first time, ringing in the break, the audience will surely fall into a frenzy when exposed to it! The disco guitars are just the icing on the cake. 'Soul People' takes a slightly more sensual path. Expect dreamy rhodes, dubbed out percussive organs, an almost reggae worthy bassline, a painfully sweet vocal hook and a sharp rhythm that make this track a perfect choice for every warmup, after-hours and daytime set!
