Erin Blanchfield takes UD over Rose Namajunas.

For all her limitations, the one thing that Blanchfield consistently does is build over fights. She is an energy vampire in there and will keep active enough and get physical enough that she will normally outlast opponents. And against someone like Rose who starts off strong but slows down as the fight goes on, that could cost you.

Rose's move to 125lbs has been marked with her just not being the hitter she was at 115lbs. She looks slower and the women are bigger. So exchanges where she would just outright catch someone and put them on the defensive. But here, Blanchfield was able to continually be in front of Rose. Not at a high pace. And not enough to win even most of the exchanges on the feet, but enough that by the third she was able to force Rose into panic wrestling situations. Whenever Rose shot, Blanchfield would defend and then immediately shoot herself. And then she would sit on top collecting points in half guard, or side control in the 5th round. Definitely should have gone harder on the GnP when she got there in the 3rd, just because we know that Rose can recover between rounds but it worked out for her.

Would be cool with seeing Blanchfield fight a Maycee Barber or an Alexa Grasso next.
