Overview: The Republic of Arcadia (ROA) remains shrouded in mystery and thus shielded from US military personnel and lawmakers' scrutiny. From what little is known, it appears to be a dystopian police state born from chaos, blending elements of a medieval feudal system with a simplified modern military command structure. Functioning under a rigid top-down hierarchy, it offers security along with oppression, as the ruling Baron and Commander overlords protect at the cost of the lower classes' freedom. Vassals, merchants, and slaves work the land under close supervision, living in a state of monitored survival.

Rumors suggest the ruler of ROA is none other than the former United States vice president, Thelonious Rousseau, who has assumed the role of authoritarian leader of Arcadia. Rousseau—thought to be slowly descending into madness, driven by personal tragedy and ambition veiled under vengeance—blames his predecessor for the apocalypse and has taken the self-proclaimed title of Archon of Arcadia. By using fear and propaganda, he maintains control over the populace. The former President is villainized and held responsible for the nemaxys outbreak, while Rousseau positions himself as the savior of humankind. This narrative serves to justify his harsh rule and the feudal system put in place to control citizens and manage production. With the people yearning for security, they reluctantly yield their rights in exchange for military protection, further solidifying the Archon's stronghold over the lives of the reluctant Arcadians.

Once obstinate in its refusal to engage in diplomatic or trade relations with the remaining United States sectors, the ROA has since softened its stance. Following the US’s formal recognition of its sovereignty, communication channels have opened, facilitating the possible exchange of vital resources between the two nations.

Hierarchy (bottom to top)

Vassals, merchants, slaves: Farmers, fishermen, tradespeople, grid workers (sanitation, plumbing, electricity, etc.), small business owners. People who did not have trade skills or were refugees or prisoners were now slaves owned by Commanders or Barons. Vassals and merchants are contractually bound to Barons but are technically free citizens of Arcadia.

Constables, Stewards: Lower ranking Envoys. Basically cops. Patrol frequently are stationed everywhere. “Protect civilians.” Are the on-the-ground eyes and ears of Arcadia.

Envoys (ranking order): Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Major: The soldiers & military force. Very powerful, Arcadia’s biggest asset and how they keep borders protected. Envoys are the muscles and protectors keeping this house of cards from crumbling. Primarily protect borders and guard shipments and higher officials.

Commanders: Resource management, controls trade and import/exports, and manages & deploys Envoys. Lays the laws of the land as set forth by Barons & Bishops.

Barons, Bishops (& other clergymen): “Lords,” overseers, former town mayors, and spiritual/religious leaders. In charge of the lands and deploying the Envoys. Own the slaves and direct the vassals of the land. Acting Emissaries of Arcadia.

Archon: Supreme ruler, likened to a King or President. Keeps a close council of 5, referred to as first, second, and so on. Secretive, inner circle dealings. Unknown location. Untouchable. Has a harem of Mystics used to keep power, sway the influence of Barons & Bishops, and keep away enemies (including USA) and aggressors.

Wish I wasn't totally stuck on all my stories except for SHILOH, because I get bored if I don't have at least two active WIPs to move back and forth on...

I kinda feel like I MIGHT be moving towards figuring out what I have to do to get rolling on the zombie apocalypse fic again, which mainly is to bring Reba to the front to get a better idea where she is vis-à-vis the baby, Will and everything else going on. But this could just be false start #286.

Have a pretty fleshed out outline for the short Cyrus-centric Hannishark AU, but I don't know how to start it, so...

Had an almost Home Alone-style home invasion hijinks thing planned out for the next Bear Mountain Road AU story, but am increasingly dissatisfied with that idea and don't know how to settle on an alternative.

the chimeras would all still be beastmen obviously. every day i thank ryoko kui for my life for putting chimeras in her thing. roa and dolcetto i think would have been pit fighters as an equivalent to being soldiers, martels also ex military but i feel like "got blown up, woke up half snake" would translate well to getting fused with a monster in a dungeon. and then bido would have a more izutsumi type backstory

greed would have earned their loyalty somehow but im not fully settled on What his deal would be. like conceptually the original homunculus is very similar to a demon (weird mystery entity) (bound to serve) (eternally Craving) (trapped in a thing and wants out) but greed specifically is, like, a chill version that i dont think would want to eat peoples desires because he likes it when people have those. and i dont know if a Chill Demon is justifiable lore-wise. counterpoint though: he would really love having a fursona. tell me YOUR thoughts in the comments below i guess (or my askbox whatever)

So... racing AU

Brain rotting brain rotting

Here I'll write a lil concept for dwk racing au, who what which and blah blah blah

I'm not very familiar with all the intricacies of racing and driving technics so it's gonna be pretty surface level. And I don't know jack shit about car models, so you ain't gonna see them there.

Okay then, let me tell you about the characters. They're all amature street racers, aiming to become pros. Also they're aged up so all of them are in their early 20s. They made a team called DWK and challage other street racers and even pros.

Leon. He is known for his agrresive driving style, like putting the pressure on the opponent by driving VERY close to their car (he'd never hit it tho), speeding up and drifting at a high speed. But he's good at it and shows good results at the time trials. Prefers to lead if ''cat and mouse'' kind of race. Good with mechanics, not as good as Raban, but he can take care of his car if needed. Got in a several accidents due to his driving style before, yet he's alive somehow. Probably got a rear wheel drive car, but dreams of all wheel drive.

Marlon. This guy is good on wet roads, somehow driving the car at a high speed on it. Unlike his brother, he doesn't show his whole potential right away and puts more thought into when and where it's better to speed up and overtake. Always achieves high level of concentration and thus can react quickly at critical situations to prevent anything bad happening. Has a rear wheel drive car too.

Vanessa. The guys didn't want to take her on their team for a long time, because:

She used to be a biker

These two factors made dwk very skeptical of her being on the team. If the first one is obviouse, the second is because she didn't really drive cars before she got one, or so they thought. Actually I haven't made up my mind on how she was tought to drive cars. Perhaps, her grandma landed Vanessa her car and that's how she gained some experience. She ended up on the team eventually after winning ''cat and mouse'' race to Leon. Their driving styles are pretty alike as it may seem, she drifts and speeds up at corners, but she's rather defensive in a race. Also, since she was a biker, can handle bikes as well. Drives a rear wheel.

Markus and Jojo. I think it's better to talk about both of them in one paragraph since they usually work together. Jojo doesn't have a car so he drives Markus'. The irony is, even though Markus is the one who owns a car, he usually serves as a navigator, his ability to concentrate and memorize the road is very helpfull. It doesn't mean he isn't driving his car at all, but his speeding and braking techniques lack good execution. Unlike Jojo's. They compensate each other's disadvantages, which makes them a good duo. Nonetheless, they can manage racing on their own, even though it would take more effort. They drive all wheel car.

Deniz. When I said all of them are amatures I kinda lied since Deniz is very close to the title of pro. He's a rally driver and has some experience in official competitions, just like his father. He's known for his outstanding skills at driving off-road and dealing with winding road and sliding through corners. Has a high level of concentration, but maintains it... in a rather weird and maybe even dangerouse way - by holding his breath. If gets carried away it might lead to the opposite outcome - loss of concentration so he's gotta be careful with that. His father wasn't happy with the fact that his son does street racing and wastes his time instead of preparing for actual competitions, but allowed it later. He has a rally car, thus an all wheel drive.

Raban. The only one who has a front wheel drive. Mainly uses grip technique while racing. Kinda sucks at it tho. What he does good is tuning and mechanics. He learned that from Hadschi and sometimes Raban helps him with service. While he may not be a good driver, he's a good navigator. He spots everything that's happening on the road, calculates the time and finds better trajectories to pass the corners faster. Very helpful to Willi with these skills.

Willi. An ex-pro, who got in an accident which prevented him from racing anymore. Now he dedicates his life to making these teens achieve their goals. Usually does all the planning and comes up with strategies.

Hadschi. The mechanic and engineer of the team. Does all the tuning and set ups for the guys. Knows a lot about cars and can give information about weak and strong points of the opponent's car.

That's all for now. Idk if I ever going to continue working on this AU, it will probably sink into oblivion like the rest of my AU concepts. I'm drawing some concept art, but I haven't finished it. I hope I will. But if not, have a peek, just in case. Might change them later on, but most likely not, I'm lazy.

Haven’t drawn my guys in a while, so here are a couple of deity AU sketches! Greed, the god of desire and wealth ended up loving four travelers who honored him so much that he reincarnated them into minor deities after they died protecting his shrine!! Dolcetto blesses loyal warriors, Martel blesses the passionate and vengeful, Roa blesses protectors of all kinds, and Bido blesses petty thieves, especially those fighting for a greater cause.

SO, "EDGREED BABY" is a part of my Hades au, specifically about Ed's backstory when he was first cursed by Dante and how Greed and co. found him in the aftermath. They take him in without question, naturally, and thus spend the next number of decades rehabilitating Ed to restore his human form. He's not even a fury at this point; he's barely a century old. He is, however, physically in his twenties... so you can see how edgreed comes in.

I kinda dropped the idea, but I've got it all planned out in a barrage of back-and-forth screaming with @sirchenchen, so I'm pretty sure I'll revisit it eventually. (I hope.)

As for a snippet...

“Is it just me,” Bido whispered close-by, “or does that giant monster sound a little scared?” “What? That thing, scared? Don’t be—” “I hear it too,” Roa said, cutting Dol’s contrarian act short. Dol said something to protest that, but Greed had already tuned out the bickering in favor of squinting at the beast again. It was still giant, and golden, and its scales still looked sharp enough to cut Martel in half where she was approaching it with open arms—but Bido was usually right about his emotional intuitions too. Maybe the beast was running from something. A nasty run-in with Fengbao, maybe, or Envy even. But… none of those sat right with Greed’s gut. No, there was something else about this snake. Something familiar. Something— Golden. Greed’s eyes blew wide. “Goldilocks?!” Too late, the snake spun its massive head toward Greed’s revealed form, narrowing bright, gold-coin eyes—and, shit, there was definitely no forgetting that glare. “Holy shit,” Greed said, ignoring Ed’s increased shrieking at him as his startled feet pulled him forward. “It is you. What the fuck, how did this—?” “Uhhh, Greed!”
