sorry for still not being over this second long shot after 7 months (holy shit, unmortricken was 7 months ago) but it's literally the gayest shit i've ever seen like c'mon COME ON BRO

they were going in for a punch at the same time but quite literally became stuck together because they got too close. their arms weren't even opened up or anything, their cybernetics tore through skin and sleeves to get tangled up in each other. the way this only happens because they're both ricks. they get their wires crossed because they're too similar. so similar their own bodies can't tell the difference, automatically trying to attach them like they're each other's lost limb.

Dumb question; Rick is really nihilist or naah? It was just a thing from the first seasons or smth

not a dumb question! my autistic self enjoys rambling about this topic in particular.

in my opinion, rick is the worst nihilist ever. he tries to be one so badly. he wants nothing to matter. he wants to not care about anything. he knows just how big the universe is and how minuscule humans are in comparison to the vastness of infinity. just as we don't care about the intricacies of quarks and electrons buzzing around us to make everything go, the stars and the multiverse don't care about the intricacies of our lives.

but that doesn't play out in practice. in reality, he cares for people. he holds people close to him. he lets people matter to him to spite infinity. he's an existential nihilist in my opinion, meaning that even if nothing inherently matters, the things he cares about matter to him. a hydrogen atom matters to the atom it gets paired with, in the compound that it comes to be a part of. just like we matter to the people who come to be in our lives. the stars in the same galaxy matter to one another, neighbouring galaxies about to collide matter to each other. the relationships we form with others, even though it might not matter to something bigger than us, is still important because of the value we place on it.

and rick reconciling with the fact that he cares about people - about his family, his wife, his friends - is the heart of the show to me. he's learning that it's okay to care. that it's okay that people matter to him and that he does in fact matter to others. importance is relative just like everything else.

anyway here's a look into some revised art for my upcoming massive revamp of my crossover Something Seems Off! it's between off and tf2 and every chapter title is a pun or a reference im not sorry

i don't recommend reading it now because of the aforementioned revamp- nothing is really gonna get removed (other than old sucky art) as the writing still holds up well but i am going back and adding a lot more details and little moments to make the pacing better so it'll probably be best to read after that, hence why i am not linking it. not like it's too hard to find but yeah anyway enjoy!

On one hand I am upset that the new OFF release won't have it's original soundtrack as a toggleable option (the loss of Pepper Steak is upsetting for a lot of people, but losing Unreasonable Behavior, Stay In Your Coma, and Flesh Maze Tango is personally very upsetting for me.), but I fully understand why they couldn't secure the rights for it, and I don't blame ACC in any way for being uncomfortable signing a contract, especially when it'd be difficult to vet a lot of the samples used.

That said, the original game is always going to be there. It's not going anywhere, it will always be available for download and it will always be free. They're not pulling a SEGA and removing the original from online stores to corral you into purchasing the remaster, it's not going away, it will always be there. And frankly, I will gladly take that compromise. A new soundtrack is very, very exciting to me, and I look forward to hearing what the new composers put out for it.

loved seeing rick shove the egg thing into morty's arms and shoot a portal under his feet. ik he's trying to get the egg somewhere safe or whatever but the fact that he sent it away with morty instead of going himself or just dropping it down a portal read as a protective grandpa moment to me

also i think in the easter episode jerry is like. being possessed by the easter bunny or something lol

idk if these clips are from the same episode but it seems like there could be a correlation here

we saw "adult summer" had short hair in the character models and the fact that they both had different hair here made me think it could be a freaky friday thing going on before i remembered rick and jerry did that last season. but i just noticed the contraption behind them is the same one morty and summer are sitting in here

where rick pulled the memory gun out, which beth also used to chase after summer. i'm definitely interested in where this episode's going
