I guess it's tag game time lmao, thanks for the tag @zauromoun!
Last Song: My Heart Feels No Pain by The Glass Pyramids and Kayla Brown
Technically it was another song by Kotaro Oshio (I fell asleep to it) but the title is in Japanese and I'm not about to google translate it and don't have a way to copypaste the title-- this was like second to last so it counts right?
Currently Reading: Trigun Maximum
I'm trying to,,, my attention span is Awful but I'm making my way through it verrry slowly. I binged like the first 35 chapters in two days then hit a wall for a month. Currently on chapter 41. I'm also reading Jujutsu Kaisen as it comes out.
Currently Watching: Nothing at the moment! I finished Good Omens S2 a few days ago. I plan to start The Legend of Vox Machina sometime soon unless I get some severe brainrot in another direction.
Current Obsession: I... don't think I have one? Which is weird to say. I mean I'm kinda fixated on some Critical Role stuff rn but not like obsessed, not yet. I'll probably have smth to obsess over in two days tho bc of the new Genshin update. Sue me I like the game it's fun to me.
I'm not tagging anyone because it's coward hours,,, but beloved mutuals do consider if you feel like it 👀

Let's Talk About Trigun Stampede
I can't I just HHHNNNNGGGHHHH ok before the rage builds up in me and blows up I will first and foremost say that the Voice acting and the animation are freaking amazing and beautiful... NOW WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY.
Listen, Trigun has been my favorite anime (the og) for about what 20 years now? It was goofy, it was fun, Vash was fun and it was all around a good time, then I got introduced to the manga and it was a lot darker, seriously if you have not read Trigun Maximum you should it's amazing and it's everything Trigun Stampede should have been but was too scared to be. So you may ask what are my issues?
The most glaring issue for me is Vash, sure in the new anime he looks amazing but... that's it, they have somehow managed to make this fun-loving goofy yet at times serious character who wielded a gun with pinpoint accuracy more of a pacifist than he already was, a major crying bleeding heart which HHHHHNNNNRRRHGHASKAGJFAEIa I'm cool I'm calm, I'm ok, I'll be ok.
So aside from him being a whiny baby with superhuman skills what else have they changed? Well for one his reluctance to use a gun, which yes sure you do see it in the original and even in the manga but he still uses it and he uses it a lot more frequently than he does in Trigun Stampede, and most importantly he was never afraid to use it, and never hesitant to use it when need be. Sure most of his shots were made to be non-lethal and to deflect bullets which he does a lot of btw but the hesitation I keep seeing him with using the gun is just WHY?! It does not need to be there, the only time he panicked was when he blew up a mfing city due to interference from his brother and losing control.
Listen if you're gonna base yourselves off of the Trigun manga (which there is clear inspiration from btw) base yourself off the manga. Don't be a coward, don't jump in between going "mmm nah this is too dark, we'll take this out, and this out, and this out, and this out, and hell let's just water the whole thing down, and change character personalities."
So with that being said I feel like the biggest crime is the butchering of Vash's character but that isn't to say I'm going to avoid all the other crimes this anime has committed oh no no no no.
Wolfwood, while they got his personality mostly right, a few things they omitted or just straight up took out, if this anime was supposed to be like the Manga, Wolfwood should have been there right from the very beginning as both a spy for Millions Knives and as Vash's Babysitter so to speak. If they wanted to make it more like the original anime he also should have come relatively soon and had a more shall we say cheerful disposition but with more seriousness added to him.
So once again another example of this anime not knowing what they wanted to do, or perhaps they did, perhaps they wanted to combine the two or do something I don't freaking know man I just know it doesn't feel right. Especially when Wolfwood has probably the sickest showdown in the history of manga dedicated to his name. That's right there is an entire volume, dedicated to Wolfwood, called Wolfwood that shows the epic showdown (once again spoiler alert he ends up dying he always ends up dying). It is definitely cemented itself in my head as one of the greatest fight showdowns out there and here I am expecting that with the title in the Anime called "Wolfwood" and wah wah WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Usually, when his name is used for a volume or episode title it USUALLY indicates something epic is about to go down because that's the kind of awesome dude he is and... nothing we got nothing special.
Millie WHERE THE EVER LOVING HECK IS MILLIE?! She is Meryl's right-hand woman for crying out loud and SHE IS ABSOLUTELY FREAKING NOWHERE WHY?! Like what? Did they not want to bring in a tall woman valkyrie who wields a freaking gatling gun?! No, instead they bring in a dude who and I checked both the manga and original anime, I cannot find him anywhere, so what is this supposed to be an origin story????
Like ok, the anime is showing darker things but it's like they were too scared to go too dark? Even though (spoiler alert) they kill off an innocent kid who Meryl isn't able to save and a buncha bs goes down and I can see very clear Manga influences but they're doing it all wrong by warping the personalities and who was and was not there and just ARG.
Meryl, they got her persistence right and her bold never give-up attitude but, once again I must ask here, is this supposed to be some weird origin story? Like are we gonna get clearer manga influences in season 2? Because she also is not afraid to fire a gun, and her entire bloody cloak... jacket... thing is jam-packed full of one-shot guns that she then either throws away or replaces the bullets of after I know it's silly but yeah she's got a cloak full of them. More importantly, SHE IS NOT AFRAID TO SHOOT IF SHE HAS TO. Now usually Vash steps in before she gets into too much trouble even in the one anime episode where he barely appears and it's more of a filler he ends up helping her out but yeah.
I could go on but these are some of the most egregious examples I could see, and yes there are more it's just *sigh* I can't, I just, I wanted something closer to the manga a little bit darker but still faithful and this to me wasn't it. It's fine if you like it, and it's fine if you have nothing to base your experience off of and you enjoy it like I said the visuals and everything are stunning and the theme song is far better than the original theme song. I, on the other hand, do have something to base this off of and I own both the Trigun Manga which is THICK, and the Trigun Maximum Manga, and the OG complete anime series, like I said, favorite anime and manga, so, of course, I should've been excited... until they butchered everything like they did with the live-action Cowboy Bebop... well ok maybe not that bad but it feels just as bad.
So I'm not mad at this point just sad and disappointed.

hi chūya. do u read manga
Do you really want me to answer that.
All seriousness, I've read some.
Shingeki no Kyojin was good n' I liked Tokyo Ghoul.
Out of animes I liked their intro songs- especially Unravel, Shinzou wo Sasageyou, n' The Rumbling.
Another one I loved was found & lost by Survive Said the Prophet.
That band is insane, man. /pos
I have a small playlist dedicated to some of my favorite songs by them.
Of course I gotta mention the GOATs, Akira n' Fist of the North Star.
I tried Given- n' I guess this would be a "hot take" or whatever you guys call it- but if I'm bein' honest, I was more into Bocchi the Rock.
Still a cute one, though.
Nothin' will ever give me chills like Banana Fish n' this scene from Bocchi.
Death Note was another one that was pretty good but drove me nuts- loved the second op though- n' I'm excited to continue Boku no Hero Academia n' Demon Slayer.
I think the two I'm most excited to read/see more of though are Trigun/Trigun Maximum/Trigun Stampede n' Rurouni Kenshin.
Vash is a pretty cool guy.
Oh yeah- One Punch Man was hysterical, too.
Princess Mononoke was gorgeous.
Y'all can hate on it all ya want or be judgemental to it's chaotic n' broken fandom but RWBY rocks.
R.I.P. Rooster Teeth
Death Parade n' Satsuriku no Tenshi were interesting, & I'm interested in continuing Moriarty the Patriot n' Link Click.
I liked n' gotta continue/rewatch:
Assassination Classroom
Full Metal Alchemist
Interstella5555
Monster
One Piece
Owari no Seraph
Pluto
Mob Psycho 100
Sonic X
Dungeon Meshi
Spy × Family
Steins;Gate
BNA
Tokyo ESP
Re:Zero
Kiznaiver
Black Clover
Noragami
Phoenix Wright
Soul Eater
Ao no Exorcist
Tokyo Revengers
Durarara
n' ESPECIALLY Gurren Lagann n' Cowboy Bebop
I've been told to check out
The Great Pretender
Afro Samurai
Baccano
91 Days
Kaiju No.8
Berserk
Bleach
Evangelion
Vinland Saga
World Trigger
Tate no Yūsha no Nariagari
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Dorohedoro
Enen no Shouboutai
Great Teacher Onizaka
Hunter × Hunter
Hellsing
Hotaru no Haka
Detective Conan
Lupin III
Jujutsu Kaisen (That one guy's voice is. Drivin' me nuts. Where have I heard it.)
I don't plan to watch Chainsaw Man but the manga looks good.
As for games: I've played that [Redacted] series n' saw the anime for it as well as read some of the novels when I had the time.
I liked that Hagakure guy, but I can't put my finger on why... oh, n' Leon was pretty cool, too.
I loved Mondo n' Taka, not gonna lie.
Also liked Nekomaru n' that Kaito dude.
What was up with that Gozu guy too- he was interestin'.
Persona games are pretty good, too.
I played Genshin for a bit. I like Diluc. I swear- that Itto guy sounded familiar, but I'm not sure where else I'd heard him from.
HSR might be more my thing, but I like the fighting style more in Genshin if I'm bein' honest. Otherwise, I'll still be more active on Star Rail from now on.
I like Boothill n' Aventurine.
If you've read this far then here, have some of my guilty pleasures- if you can call them that;; basically:
You will never catch me admitting to liking these.
Violet Evergarden
Lucky Star
Horimiya
Shimoneta
PaSwG
Osomatsu-san
Ouran Koukou Host Club
Kaguya-sama: Love is War
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Tutu (Wrecked me)
Fairy Tail
Kill la Kill
WataMote
Your Lie in April
Sasaki to Miyano
Sword Art Online II
Tian Guan Cifu
My Neighbor Totoro
n' especially Toradora! n' Buddy Daddies.
^What can I say, the last two were too-darn-adorable for me to resist.
Oh yeah, speakin' of animes people refuse to admit likin' n' reachin' this far to be deservin' of seein' my "honorary mentions"...
Y'all who are still afraid to like Kekkai Sensen are cowards.
Go check out Blood Blockade Battlefront, losers. /endearing
By the same guy who made Trigun, iirc.
There's one that keeps bein' brought up around me though... the Hell was it...;;
Bungou...somethin'...
...Bungou to Alchemist.
That's definitely what it was.

As long as I'm getting back to stuff I've been slow to update, here's my notes from Trigun Maximum Vol. 3! Not as many this time around since it was a lot of fight scenes.
TriMax #3.1: Reservoir Dogs
Content Warnings: Anatomically correct dolls that form together into a cursed looking spider-thing, “genitals” only in a few panels though
“Don’t raise your hand, Wolfwood. If your solution is to kill then you are the coward. You give up all hope so easily…” hope in humanity. In himself. In the blank ticket. AAHH
TriMax #3.2: Cement
So Ninelives is punishment for WW because of that spoilery bit I saw on tumblr? [Note: I meant him shooting Chapel, which I found out about before reading this.]
OW that’s his ribs. WW is doing as well here as I do against most Resident Evil bosses TBH
Thank goodness for his backup pistol damn
Damn got his arm with the elevator door
TriMax #3.3: No Escape
Content Warnings: Body horror
OH GOOD THE ARM MOVES ON ITS OWN
“He just keeps going and going, like this is all some sorta backwater play for him. -bursts out the rocket launcher- IT’S THE FINAL CURTAIN CALL, YA HAM ACTOR!” Ohhh unhinged WW hits different
Why do the puppets have such well-defined asses??? [Note: I say again, I do not really want to know the answer to this, there is really no good answer here]
CW BODY HORROR WTF
This dude is literally just a Resident Evil boss
JUST SHOVE THE GUN IN HIS CHEST AND KEEP SHOOTING, OKAY?!
Okay Lenoff I’ll give you this. Giving the puppet baby a gun is hilarious, no notes
OH SHIT SOME ARE REAL THIS DUDE IS TWISTED
TriMax #3.4: Emilio the Player
Oh, no, Brad is about to walk into some SHIT
Vash MUST speak at least a little French, between Trigun #2 and him using a french word here
Obsessed with the use of fonts here
…Is that Isabel?????
TriMax #3.5: Long Goodbye
POOR BRAD LMAO
WW thinking of the orphanage, HELP
NOT THOSE MEMORIES SNAPPING HIM OUT OF A BARE-HANDED MURDER RAGE
I hate the whiplash of being horrified by the tiny puppet to the sadness of that memory of Vash saying Emilio should tell Isabelle how she feels…OOF
NOT MERYL + MILLY ACCIDENTALLY SAVING WW!
TriMax #3.6: Families
Oh good, Knives is in his death metal era.
“Both of you look like you’re well! Thank goodness!” He cares!!!
LUIDA!!!
Guhhh Vash not being mad WW killed b/c he knows the “why” was legit ooggh
TriMax #3.7: His Life As A…
AHH seeing how much of humanity survived after all helped him!!!
“Will he die this time? Is this his attempt at absolution? Is that what this is?” WW might be onto something a bit
Vash: nearly shot Vash: boy howdy that sure was scary, huh?!
“He knows the name and face of everyone who lives here” BWUHH
Wolfwood starting to realize that Vash is for real…welcome to the circus dude LOL
