Why didn't Krishna save Draupadi from Chir-Haran?
Glories to Śrī Krishna..
He did! When Devī Draupadī called out the names of lord, the Bhakta-vatsala, Śrī Krishna actually saved her. Śri Nīlakaṇṭha writes in his Bhāṣya (commentary) on Śrimad Vyāsa Mahābhārat 2.90.42–51 (Kumbakonam) as thus:
ākrṣyamāṇe vasane draupadyā cintito hariḥ | govinda dvārakāvāsin kṛṣṇa gopījanapriya || kauravaiḥ paribhūtāṁ māṁ kiṁ na jānāsi keśava | he nātha he ramānātha vrajanāthārtināśana | kauravārṇavamagnāṁ mām uddharasva janārdana || kṛṣṇa kṛṣṇa mahāyogin viśvātman viśvabhāvana | prapannāṁ pāhi govinda kurumadhye vasīdatīm || yājñasenyā vacaḥ śrutvā kṛṣṇo gahvarito’bhavat | tyaktvā śayyāsanaṁ padbhyāṁ kṛpāluḥ kṛpayābhyagāt ||
~ When her clothes were being dragged off, Devī Draupadī thought about Hari. “O Govinda! Resident of Dvārakā! O Krishna beloved of the Gopī.-s” Don’t you know that I have been abused by the Kauravas, O Keśava! O Svāmī! O Rāmapati! Lord of Vraja! One who removes suffering! Rescue me as I am sunk in the ocean of the Kauravas, Janārdana! O Anataryamin of all! Creator of the world! Protect [me] who has taken refuge [in you], Govinda, suffering in the midst of the Kurus.…Having heard Yajñasenī’s words, Śrī Krishna became absorbed. He left his throne [and] with compassion, the merciful one arrived on foot. Thus, when Devī Draupadī’s garment was being tugged away, another similar garment appeared every time.
And Viṣṇupāda Madhvācārya in Śri Mahābhārat Tātparya Nirṇaya 21.355 (Variation: 21.347) write as thus (confirming that Śrī Krishna helped her):
vikṛṣyamāṇe vasane tu kṛṣṇā sasmāra kṛṣṇaṃ suviśeṣato'pi। tadā'nyadāsīd vasanaṃ ca tasyā divyaṃ susūkṣmaṃ kanakāvadātam॥
~ When Dushasana started pulling her cloth, Devī Draupadī started remembering Śrī Krishna through her prayer. At that time, a second cloth, that was divine, fine and shining like gold, appeared there.
Also, many great Ālvārs mentioned this in their hymns; Śrī Thirumangai Ālvār (8th century) writes in his Śrī Virperu Vizhavum (Verse 6) as thus:
andanan ṣiruvan araṣart am araṣarku ilaiyavan aṇiyizhaiyai ṣenru endamakku urimai ṣei ena tariyādu emberumān arul enna | ṣandam al kuzhalāl alakkaṇ nūṭṭruvar tam peṇḍirum eidi nūlizhappa indiran ṣiruvan ter mun ninrānai tiruvallikkeṇi kaṇḍene॥
~ The blind king Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son, Duryodhana, and his younger brother Duḥśāsana went to the beautiful Devī Draupadī and said, ‘Serve me’ while saying they started (pulling clothes); Unable to bear this, the dark one prayed, ‘O Lord, save me!’, when Lo! The lord took her grief and gave it to the Kuruş, and the marriage thread of widows was broken. He drove Indra-born-Arjuna’s chariot. I have seen Him in Tiruvallikkeni. I salute him thus!
All majors Commentators on Śrimad Vyāsa Mahābhārat comments on this passage and glorifies Śrī Krishna. Even we have numerous of cross reference for the event from the works of Āchārya-s and Śrimad Vyāsa Mahābhārat itself!
Ending with words of, Paṇḍita Śrīnivāsachariar who wrote a condensed Bhāṣya to Śrimad Vyāsa Mahābhārat (as translated by Padma Bhūṣaṇa awardee Śrīman V. Rāghavan):
mahatyāpadi saṃprāpte smartavyo bhagavān hariḥ। iti niścitya manasā śaraṇāgatavatsalam । ākṛṣyamāṇe vasane draupadī kṛṣṇamasmarat ॥
~ ‘ When great calamity befalls, Śri Hari must be thought of.’ So deciding in mind, Devī Draupadī, while her cloth was being pulled off, thought of Śrī Krishna who is affectionate to those who seek him as refuge.
ityanusmṛtya kṛṣṇaṃ sā hariṃ tribhuvaneśvaram । prārudaduḥkhitā [rājan] mukhamācchādya bhāminī ॥
~ Having thus contemplated upon Śrī Krishna, Śrī Hari, the Lord of the three worlds, that beautiful lady, covering her face, cried in her distress.
tasya prasādād draupadyāḥ kṛṣyamāṇe'mbare tadā। tadrapamaparaṃ vastraṃ prādurāsīdanekaśaḥ॥
~ By His grace, there appeared at that time when Devī Draupadī’s garment was being pulled off, a similar garment many times over.
tadadbhutatamaṃ loke vīkṣya sarve mahībhṛtaḥ । śaśaṃsudraupadīṃ tatra kutsanto dhṛtarāṣṭrajam ॥
~ Seeing that greatest wonder of the world, all the kings extolled Devī Draupadī and condemned Duryodhana and Karna.

----- Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is 1.41 saṅkaro narakāyaiva kula-ghnānāṁ kulasya ca patanti pitaro hy eṣāṁ lupta-piṇḍodaka-kriyāḥ TRANSLATION An increase of unwanted population certainly causes hellish life both for the family and for those who destroy the family tradition. The ancestors of such corrupt families fall down, because the performances for offering them food and water are entirely stopped. PURPORT According to the rules and regulations of fruitive activities, there is a need to offer periodical food and water to the forefathers of the family. This offering is performed by worship of Viṣṇu, because eating the remnants of food offered to Viṣṇu can deliver one from all kinds of sinful reactions. Sometimes the forefathers may be suffering from various types of sinful reactions, and sometimes some of them cannot even acquire a gross material body and are forced to remain in subtle bodies as ghosts. Thus, when remnants of prasādam food are offered to forefathers by descendants, the forefathers are released from ghostly or other kinds of miserable life. Such help rendered to forefathers is a family tradition, and those who are not in devotional life are required to perform such rituals. One who is engaged in the devotional life is not required to perform such actions. Simply by performing devotional service, one can deliver hundreds and thousands of forefathers from all kinds of misery. It is stated in the Bhāgavatam (11.5.41): devarṣi-bhūtāpta-nṛṇāṁ pitṝṇāṁ na kiṅkaro nāyam ṛṇī ca rājan sarvātmanā yaḥ śaraṇaṁ śaraṇyaṁ gato mukundaṁ parihṛtya kartam “Anyone who has taken shelter of the lotus feet of Mukunda, the giver of liberation, giving up all kinds of obligation, and has taken to the path in all seriousness, owes neither duties nor obligations to the demigods, sages, general living entities, family members, humankind or forefathers.” Such obligations are automatically fulfilled by performance of devotional service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ----- #krishna #iskconphotos #motivation #success #love #bhagavatamin #india #creativity #inspiration #life #spdailyquotes #devotion

Arjuna saw in that universal form unlimited mouths and unlimited eyes. It was all wondrous. The form was decorated with divine, dazzling ornaments and arrayed in many garbs. He was garlanded gloriously, and there were many scents smeared over His body. All was magnificent, all-expanding, unlimited. This was seen by Arjuna. PURPORT(10-11) These two verses indicate that there is no limit to the hands, mouths, legs, etc., of the Lord. These manifestations are distributed throughout the universe and are unlimited. 🌴 Rudra-saṃhitā (4): Yuddha-khaṇḍa - CHAPTER 20 🌴
🌻 The fight between the Gaṇas and the Asuras - 2 🌻
Jalandhara said:— 9-10. Let all the Asuras such as Kālanemi and others set out with their entire divisions; Śumbha, Niśumbha and other heroes; the descendants of Koṭivīra, the scions of the family of Kambu. Daurhṛdas, Kalakas, Kālakeyas, Mauryas and Dhaumras—let all these start for the fight.
After ordering thus, the lord of the Asuras the valorous son of the ocean set out quickly accompanied by crores of Daityas.
Then Śukra and Rāhu with his head severed went ahead of him. In his quick jerky movement, his crown became dislodged and fell on the ground.
The sky was entirely enveloped by clouds as in the rainy season. Many ill omens occurred portending great slumber.
On seeing his enterprise, the gods including Indra went to Kailāsa, the abode of Śiva without being observed.
After going there and seeing Śiva, the gods including Indra, bowed to him with stooping shoulders. They joined their palms in reverence and eulogised.
The gods said:—
O great lord, lord of the gods, O Śiva the merciful, obeisance be to you. Save us who have sought refuge in you.
O lord, we are very much distressed by this harassment. All including Indra are deposed and compelled to stay on the earth.

🍀 37. SECURITY 🍀
🕉 There is no security anywhere. Life is insecure, and there is no ground to it-it is groundless. 🕉
In the very asking for security, you create the problem. The more you ask the more insecure you will be, because insecurity is the very nature of life. If you don't ask for security, then you will never be worried about insecurity. As trees are green, life is insecure. If you start asking for trees to be white, there is a problem. The problem is created by you, not by the trees-they are green and you ask them to be white! They cannot perform in that way.
Life is insecure, and so is love. And it is good that it is so. life can be secure only if you are dead; then everything can be certain. Underneath a rock there is ground" Underneath a flower there is none; the flower is insecure. With a small breeze the flower may disperse; the petals may fall and disappear. It is a miracle that the flower is there. Life is a miracle-because there is no reason for it to be. It is simply a miracle that you are, otherwise there is every reason for you not to be. Maturity comes to you only when you accept this, and not only accept, but start rejoicing in it.

The History of the Title of Queen
By: Jone Johnson Lewis, 18 November 2019
In English, the word for a female ruler is "queen," but that's also the word for the spouse of a male ruler.
Where did the title come from, and what are some variations on the title in common usage?
In English, the word “queen” apparently developed simply as a designation of the king's wife, from the word for wife, cwen.
It is a cognate with the Greek root gyne (as in gynecology, misogyny) meaning woman or wife, and with the Sanskrit janis meaning woman.
Among the Anglo-Saxon rulers of pre-Norman England, the historical record does not always even record the name of the king’s wife, as her position was not considered one requiring a title (and some of those kings had multiple wives, perhaps at the same time; monogamy was not universal at the time).
The position gradually evolves towards the current sense, with the word “queen.”
The first time a woman in England was crowned—with a coronation ceremony—as queen was in the 10th century CE:
The queen Aelfthryth or Elfrida, wife of King Edgar "the Peaceable," stepmother of Edward "the Martyr," and mother of King Ethelred (Aethelred) II "the Unready" or "Poorly Counseled."
English is unusual in having a word for female rulers that is rooted in a woman-oriented word.
In many languages, the word for a woman ruler is derived from a word for male rulers:
Roman Augusta (for women related to the emperor); emperors were titled Augustus.
Spanish reina; king is rey
French reine; king is roi
German for king and queen: König und Königin
German for emperor and empress: Kaiser und Kaiserin
Polish is król i królowa
Croatian is kralj i kraljica
Finnish is kuningas ja kuningatar
Scandinavian languages use a different word for king and queen, but the word for queen is derived from a word meaning “master”:
Swedish kung och drottning, Danish or Norwegian konge og dronning, Icelandic konungur og drottning
Hindi uses rājā and rānī; rānī derives from Sanskrit rājñī which is in turn derived from rājan for king, as is rājā
A queen consort is the wife of a reigning king.
The tradition of a separate coronation of a queen consort developed slowly and was unevenly applied.
Marie de Medici, for instance, was queen consort of King Henry IV of France.
There were only queens consort, no reigning queens of France, as French law assumed Salic Law for the sake of the royal title.
The first queen consort in England that we can find to have been crowned in a formal ceremony and coronation, Aelfthryth, lived in the 10th century CE.
Henry VIII infamously had six wives. Only the first two had formal coronations as queen, but the others were known as queens during the time their marriages endured.
Ancient Egypt didn't use a variation on the male rulership term, pharaoh, for queens consort.
They were called the Great Wife, or God's Wife.
In Egyptian theology, Pharaohs were considered incarnations of the gods.
A regent is someone who governs when the sovereign or monarch is unable to do so, due to being a minor, being absent from the country, or a disability.
Some queen consorts were briefly rulers in the stead of their husbands, sons or even grandsons, as regents for their male relative.
However, the power was supposed to return to the males when the minor child reached his majority or when the absent male returned.
The king's wife was often a choice for a regent, as she could be trusted to have the interests of her husband or son as a priority, and be less likely than one of many nobles to turn on the absent or minor or disabled king.
Isabella of France, English queen consort of Edward II and mother of Edward III, is infamous in history for having deposed her husband, later having him murdered, and then trying to hold on to the regency for her son even after he reached his majority.
The Wars of the Roses arguably began with disputes around the regency for Henry IV, whose mental condition kept him from ruling for some time.
Margaret of Anjou, his queen consort, played a very active and controversial role during Henry's periods described as insanity.
Although France did not recognize the right of a woman to inherit a royal title as queen, many French queens served as regents, including Louise of Savoy.
A queen regnant is a woman who rules in her own right, rather than exercising power as a wife of a king or even a regent.
Through most of history, succession was agnatic (through male heirs) with primogeniture being a common practice, where the eldest was first in succession (occasional systems where younger sons were preferred have also existed).
In the 12th century, Norman King Henry I, son of William the Conqueror, faced an unexpected dilemma near the end of his life:
His only surviving legitimate son died when his ship capsized en route from the continent to the island.
William had his nobles swear support for his daughter’s right to rule in her own right: Empress Matilda, already widowed from her first marriage to the Holy Roman Emperor.
When Henry I died, many of the nobles supported her cousin Stephen instead, and a civil war ensued, with Matilda never being formally crowned as queen regnant.
In the 16th century, consider the effect of such rules on Henry VIII and his multiple marriages, probably largely inspired by trying to get a male heir when he and his first wife Catherine of Aragon had only a living daughter, no sons.
On the death of Henry VIII’s son, King Edward VI, Protestant supporters tried to install the 16-year-old Lady Jane Grey as queen.
Edward had been persuaded by his advisors to name her as his successor, contrary to his father’s preference that Henry’s two daughters would be given preference in succession, even though his marriages to their mothers had been annulled and the daughters declared, at various times, to be illegitimate.
However, that effort was abortive, and after just nine days, Henry’s elder daughter, Mary, was declared queen as Mary I, England’s first queen regnant.
Other women, through Queen Elizabeth II, have been queen's regnant in England and Great Britain.
Some European legal traditions prohibited women from inheriting lands, titles and offices.
This tradition, known as Salic Law, was followed in France, and there were no queens regnant in France’s history.
Spain followed Salic Law at times, leading to a 19th-century conflict over whether Isabella II could reign.
In the early 12th century, Urraca of Leon and Castile ruled in her own right. Later, Queen Isabella ruled Leon and Castile in her own right and Aragon as co-ruler with Ferdinand.
Isabella’s daughter, Juana, was the only remaining heir at Isabella’s death. She became the queen of Leon and Castile, while Ferdinand continued to rule Aragon until his death.
In the 19th century, Queen Victoria's firstborn was a daughter. Victoria did later have a son who then moved ahead of his sister in the royal queue.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, several royal houses of Europe have removed the male-preference rule from their succession rules.
A dowager is a widow holding a title or property that was her late husband's.
The root word is also found in the word "endow."
Among the British peerage, a dowager continues to use the female form of her late husband's title so long as the present male title-holder does not have a wife.
When the present male title-holder marries, his wife assumes the female form of his title and the title used by the dowager is the female title prepended with Dowager ("Dowager Countess of ...") or by using her first name before the title ("Jane, Countess of ...").
The title "Dowager Princess of Wales" or "Princess Dowager of Wales" was given to Catherine of Aragon when Henry VIII arranged to annul their marriage.
This title refers to Catherine's previous marriage to Henry's older brother, Arthur, who was still Prince of Wales at his death, widowing Catherine.
At the time of the marriage of Catherine and Henry, it was alleged that Arthur and Catherine had not consummated their marriage due to their youth, freeing Henry and Catherine to avoid the church prohibition on marriage to one's brother's widow.
At the time Henry wanted to obtain an annulment of the marriage, he alleged that Arthur and Catherine's marriage had been valid, providing grounds for the annulment.
A dowager queen whose son or daughter is currently ruling is called a Queen Mother.
Several recent British queens have been called Queen Mother.
Queen Mary of Teck, mother of Edward VIII and George VI, was popular and known for her intelligence.
Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, who did not know when she married that her brother-in-law would be pressured to abdicate and that she would become queen, was widowed when George VI died in 1952.
As the mother of the reigning Queen Elizabeth II, she was known as Queen Mum until her death 50 years later in 2002.
When the first Tudor king, Henry VII, was crowned, his mother, Margaret Beaufort, acted much as if she were the Queen Mother, though because she had never been a queen herself, the title Queen Mother was not official.
Some queen mothers were also regents for their sons if the son was not yet of age to take on the monarchy, or when their sons were out of the country and unable to rule directly.

Monster Ecologies: Rajang and Furious Rajang
Entry 31 - Rajang and Furious Rajang
Name: Rajang and Furious Rajang
Aliases: Rājan, Wukong for Rajang, Gekikō Shita Rājan, The Wrathful Storm for Furious Rajang, and Gold Lion for both
Classification: Mammal, Primate, Fanged Beast
Biology: Classified as Fanged Beasts, Rajang are an extremely rare species that are seldom sighted and those who do see it often don’t live to tell the tale. They have a gorilla-like body with a small tail and two large horns. They are extremely fast and nimble, jumping around the battlefield during fights. They are infamous for their extreme physical strength, often throwing pieces of terrain far larger than their own bodies. When sufficiently enraged, they can harden the muscles in their limbs to further boost their strength and defense alongside giving the limbs a bright red colour. During battle, Rajang have a tendency to go into a “Golden” mode where their power skyrockets and parts of their fur turn a bright yellow. This colour comes from the deadly electricity the beast is capable of using, often fired out as a singular beam. The electricity is actually stored in its unassuming tail, but the monster is not directly producing the energy itself and instead obtains it from an outside source detailed below. If the tail is seriously damaged or severed completely, the world is introduced to the nightmare that is Furious Rajang. A Variant of the species, its stored electrical energy now flows through its entire body and turns sections of its fur a permanent yellow. Their power levels are comparable to their normal golden state, and they stay like this permanently rather than needing to “recharge”.
Behaviour: The best way to describe Rajangs are “ultra-aggressive fight-seekers”. They are ready and willing to attack anything that so much as looks at them the wrong way. They do have some sense of restraint in that they will let fleeing opponents survive but their killing methods are often extremely brutal, sometimes crippling its victims before going for the finishing blow to the head. Rajang children rarely meet their parents, as the mother only looks after them until they are able to move properly. This is due to their extreme aggression causing them to violently attack even others of their own species that they see as challengers. They are incredibly determined once they’ve set their mind to something, powering through pain and ignoring wounds to defeat its opponents. Rajang do have moments of calm when no other monsters are nearby, but these are far and few between. Furious Rajang are much like Savage Deviljho, in that their extreme power isn’t completely beneficial. The electricity flowing through their bodies has also affected their brains, hardwiring them to a single thought: DESTROY. Nothing is safe in the vicinity of these creatures and they will often maim and massacre any living thing they see. Some specimens may even die of starvation or dehydration as killing is literally the only thing on their minds.
Habitat: Rajang and Furious Rajang are nomadic, wandering from area to area as they please. They are incredibly hardy creatures and can live in nearly any type of habitat, but are primarily found in both forests, mountains, arctic regions and volcanic regions. Due to this, Rajang can live in any habitat found in the New World.
Diet: Surprisingly, Rajang and Furious Rajang are actually omnivorous. Their diet mainly consists of meat from small monsters such as Kestodon, Gastodon, Aptonoth, Apeceros, and Wingdrakes, alongside numerous types of fruit and mushrooms too. But there is one specific meal that only the strongest and fastest Rajang are capable of attaining: the horn of a Kirin. While Kirin are too fast for the Rajang to actively hunt on a regular basis, they can snag the horn of the Elder Dragon and break it off if it is careless. These horns are actually the catalyst for the Rajangs electrical abilities, lasting for months at a time before needing to be replenished. Young Kirin that have not reached the strength or speed of their parents are much more vulnerable, but they are just fast enough to evade the beast if it makes so much as one mistake while chasing them.
Attack Method: Rajang are physical powerhouses, pummelling opponents with its fists and occasionally blasting them with its electrical beam. They are immensely strong, capable of grabbing Flying Wyverns such as the Raths right out of the sky and throwing them around. They will often tear large pieces of rock multiple times the size of its body out of the ground and throw them at opponents. The strangest attack of a Rajang involves it jumping up into the air and inexplicably spinning in place. It then rockets back down to the ground, where it will sometimes repeat the attack twice before finally landing. Furious Rajang are much the same, but hit even harder and display more advanced fighting skills. They are also capable of expelling electricity through their arms alongside their mouth.
Place in the Food Chain: As to be expected due to their extreme strength, Rajang assert themselves as apex predators in whatever environment they pass through. Very few creatures are capable of challenging them and the foolish ones that do try often end up with their heads smashed into a bloody pulp. Like Deviljho and Bazelguese, they are an Elder Dragon level threat and are one of the few creatures that actively attempt to fight them instead of fleeing. Although exceedingly rare, Furious Rajang are even more dangerous and are more akin to a natural disaster than a living creature. Some of the few Furious Rajang corpses that biologists have observed in the wild have been noted to have been repeatedly impaled by numerous icicles. This is believed to be the work of Oroshi Kirin, using their mastery over ice to both protect ecosystems from the wrath of the ferocious beast and to put them out of their misery.
This has been a report on the Rajang and Furious Rajang. Thank you for reading.

----- Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is 2.38 sukha-duḥkhe same kṛtvā lābhālābhau jayājayau tato yuddhāya yujyasva naivaṁ pāpam avāpsyasi TRANSLATION Do thou fight for the sake of fighting, without considering happiness or distress, loss or gain, victory or defeat – and by so doing you shall never incur sin. PURPORT Lord Kṛṣṇa now directly says that Arjuna should fight for the sake of fighting because He desires the battle. There is no consideration of happiness or distress, profit or loss, victory or defeat in the activities of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. That everything should be performed for the sake of Kṛṣṇa is transcendental consciousness; so there is no reaction to material activities. He who acts for his own sense gratification, either in goodness or in passion, is subject to the reaction, good or bad. But he who has completely surrendered himself in the activities of Kṛṣṇa consciousness is no longer obliged to anyone, nor is he a debtor to anyone, as one is in the ordinary course of activities. It is said: devarṣi-bhūtāpta-nṛṇāṁ pitṝṇāṁ na kiṅkaro nāyam ṛṇī ca rājan sarvātmanā yaḥ śaraṇaṁ śaraṇyaṁ gato mukundaṁ parihṛtya kartam “Anyone who has completely surrendered unto Kṛṣṇa, Mukunda, giving up all other duties, is no longer a debtor, nor is he obliged to anyone – not the demigods, nor the sages, nor the people in general, nor kinsmen, nor humanity, nor forefathers.” (Bhāg. 11.5.41) That is the indirect hint given by Kṛṣṇa to Arjuna in this verse, and the matter will be more clearly explained in the following verses. ----- #krishna #iskconphotos #motivation #success #love #bhagavatamin #india #creativity #inspiration #life #spdailyquotes #devotion
