I want to start a series of my headcanons about what kind of person the HL characters would have become in their late twenties. Also I know next to nothing about the 19th century and don’t have the dedication to learn about it so in these, they’re just set up in our time. 😅 Bear with me

Work Life

I love the headcanon that Sebastian becomes a Curse Breaker. It fits his personal story AND personality well.

But he wouldn’t be happy working for a big corporation or the government. He is too much of a free spirit who needs to be allowed autonomy. So he would work in a small structure, a bit like a private investigator agency.

He loves his job and pours himself in it, resulting in a lot of overtime work. His boss has to throw him out of the office some days.

His home

He doesn’t need a big place so a small flat with two rooms is more than enough for him.

But he is prone to clutter and his place is full of books and things he thinks might be useful someday.

His flat is located in a big city, probably London. He needs to live in a place buzzing with life because he is easily bored. He needs a place where he will never have seen everything, with lots of things to do like exhibits, museums, libraries, pubs and restaurants,…

He doesn’t care for decoration but chooses his pieces of furniture with care. Decoration is usually taken care of by his partner.

He doesn’t own a pet, he is not at home enough to care for one and doesn’t feel the emotional need to have one.

He has a picture of his family in every room, even if it’s a small picture, but he wants them close everywhere in his place.

Social Life

He kept in contact with a lot of his former friends back in Hogwarts. He doesn’t meet them every day but is happy to have a drink with them when the opportunity rises.

He is outgoing and comfortable in social settings. He is able to come to a party where he knows no one and blend in with ease.

Despite being quite extroverted, he doesn’t form a strong bond with just anyone. Even though he is friendly with everyone, it’s mostly superficial and his true friends can be counted on one hand.

He doesn’t enjoy being alone so is often meeting friends after work, several times a week, and shares activities with them on the weekend like playing quidditch, go on small trips, game nights, watching quidditch games,…

Love Life

He has dated but has never had a « wild phase ».

He needs an independent partner. He is very busy with his work and all the things he has in mind, so he really appreciates someone who is likeminded. He can’t deal well with needy people. Being in the same room or space is already great to him for most evenings.

Actually self sufficient and people who are their own person attracts him.

He also needs someone with patience. When stressed or tired he can become a bit grumpy or moody, so he needs a partner who won’t escaladate. But he knows he is wrong and will come back and apologize once he is calmed down.

As said, he is a bit busy, but his partner is the person he wants to spend all his relaxing time with. Whether it is by cuddling after a long day in bed, or by exploring the city together, trying new activities, strolling in museums, or trying new food.

He is independant and self sufficient, as a partner he doesn’t slack off around the house and shares the mental load. He is reliable, he is used to live alone and gets things done without being babied.

Quirks

He hates doing laundry and doesn’t tidy his place as much as he should be but it’s always clean.

He can’t handle silence, even when he sleeps. He is always listening to something, most of the time it’s documentaries or podcasts about things he wants to learn about.

6. Would you have joined the DA?

Now? Definitely!! As a student? I would hope so, yes. Fun fact about me is that we watched a documentary about the Scholl siblings in school when i was like 13/14 and that led to me having a full-on identity crisis where I asked myself if I would be able to be the kind of person who doesn't just do/say nothing when faced with injustice, and I was so scared of not being the kind of person who joins the resistance I literally had sleepless nights over this back then. So I think or at least hope I would have!

15. What character gives you the most gender envy?

Ohhhhh okay obviously Tonks has to be on this list (yes I know the ask said "character" but I refuse to name just one!). I also LOVE lesbian quidditch player Ginny oh god. And Marlene. oof. Just Marlene! And early 2010s-fanon butch Dorcas?! YES. BUTCH DORCAS. Also, obviously Sirius Black in all his leather-jacket wearing dog collar and doc martens aesthetic glory.

Secret Snarry Swap 2022 Recs

The fial Secrety Snarry Swap posted in December anonymously and author reveals went up a couple weeks ago. I had some clear favorites in this one, and had a fest entry of my own which I’ve incldued. 

Foolish Wand Waving by NecromanticNoir  19,092 words Explicit

The fest opened with this one, which hit nearly all the tropes. Mind the warnings as you proceed and if you dont know anything about OnlyFans (I was in that category and watched a Documentary about it after reading this!) hang on to your seats. It’s funny, surprising, and despitre being a non-magical AU, full of magic. Excellent writing and story-crafting, and I especially enjoyed the dialogue. 

Summary:  Harry Potter has an OnlyFans. Severus, only knowing it's a platform where you can post videos and people pay you, makes an educational one for 'Potions'. He is quite shocked when, in a bout of curiosity, he subscribes to Harry - and hears his own voice in the background of... rather different content.

Friends of Dorothy by Writcraft    22,000 words Explicit

Another excellent fic by this always satisfying author. It’s very Harry-Severus centrc, though it features a couple of really good original characters.  My comment:  “Perfect. Excellent writing and has all the elements I love in a good snarry - great OCs, good dialogue, believable character growth and that simmering connection between Harry and Severus. Couldn't put this one down.”

Summary:  When Harry Potter sees Severus Snape on a date with another wizard it sets him on a journey of self-discovery that leads to the Friends of Dorothy Detective Agency and a Niffler called Toto.

Pipe Dreams by Nesting Hedwig  12,874 words, Teen and up

This one brought back visions of my dad on his back under the bathroom sink trying vaiently to fix the leacky pipes.  And if THAT’s not a reason to read a fic, what is? 

Another well-writen, original fic which is very Harry/Severus centric and is really their re-introduction to each other. Leaves us with a lot of promise and hope. 

Summary:  Just before closing time on Christmas Eve, Harry Potter stopped to pick up an order from the village plumbing supply shop. The last person he ever expected to meet in one of the aisles was Severus Snape.

The Private Collection of S. Snape by PinaNaponi  6336 words  Explicit

A 5X fic in which Severus spends a lot of time watching Harry have sex and then finally gets to have sex with Harry.  The story is well-constructed, the sex is hot and the pacing good. As always, mind the warnings.

Summary:  Severus likes to watch. Potter doesn't seem to mind. Or: Five times Severus witnesses Potter get railed, and the one time he finally gets to do the railing.

Stasis by Avioleta  12,206 words  Explicit

Avioleta is one of my favorite authors, and she once again produced a story that pulled me in. The story takes place at Grimmauld Place just after the war, with Harry coming and going on Auror business and Severus whiling away the hours until he can return to Hogwarts and definitely not thinking about Harry. Excellent writing, as always.

My comment:   Achingly, amazingly perfect. I loved reading every word of this fic -it felt so intimate, so personal. Sparse and full at the same time. Gorgeous.

Summary:  After the war, Severus Snape recuperates at Grimmauld Place.

And finally - my entry:

Spy Glass by Suitesamba  18,135 words  Explicit

I wrote this one because I couldn’t get the prompt out of my head:  Severus's new job in insurance results in him having to trail Quidditch player!Harry around to assess the international Seeker for Harry's insurance renewal.

This one is all about the humor, with Severus masquerading as a female reporter, some “boy and his broom” innuendo, unlicensed sex therapy, Quidditch god Harry and a bit of fun with George and Angelina.

Summary:  England wants to insure star Seeker Harry Potter and his fabulous broom. Enter Severus Snape, wizarding investigator extraordinaire, ready to calculate risk and assess value. Tailing Harry Potter turns out to be the job of his dreams, though he wishes it could be done without the disguise. A tale of a man’s obsession, another man’s obsession, and a heartwarming ending where everyone ultimately gets what they want – or what they need.

Gonna rant about a Harry Potter thing for a minute.

Back when I had a Wii and could play PS games on it, I had this Quidditch thing my dad found at a used items shed. There wasn’t a campaign or anything, you just picked a Hogwarts house and played matches. Despite how much I don’t like Harry Potter, the game was fun.

This is my frustration with the franchise. Quidditch and Diagonal Alley and behind-the-scenes documentaries on the movies genuinely grabbed my attention. There was potential for something that didn’t involve poorly chosen names, homophobia, and antisemitism.

When I first tried to read Harry Potter in elementary school, I didn’t like it. Part of me wishes I hadn’t been a fan in middle school. And all of me wishes we had just stopped after seven books and their corresponding movies.

trying a different style since this includes every character i currently write for lol enjoy! x

midoriya -> the incredibles: he likes any disney/pixar movie but obviously, the one about heroes is his absolute favorite. you can bet that he ran to get tickets for you and him to see the second one when it finally came out.

bakugo -> kitchen nightmares: he loves gordon ramsay because he’s usually justified whenever he’s yelling at people and calling them rude names. you like to tease that it’s like watching him while he cooks or watches others cook. he claims that he could run a restaurant that chef ramsay would praise as the best. 

todoroki -> spirited away: he enjoys a lot of the studio ghibli films but this one will always have a special place in his heart. he grew up watching it and reminds him of a happier time spent with his family. however, its sentiment becomes greater whenever he can watch it with you. 

kirishima -> the twilight saga: he doesn’t like to get caught up in the hype but he was totally team jacob after he watched new moon with you. that is until you watched eclipse and he thought it was “so not manly” when jacob kisses bella by surprise. it’s safe to say he’s very team edward by breaking dawn. 

kaminari -> the bachelor: you mostly just like this show for the irony in that the bachelor is usually just some guy that many girls are competing over. he watches mainly for the ladies, which he’s not afraid to admit. however, if he were the bachelor, you’d get all his roses. 

uraraka -> miss congeniality: she loves the tough and no-nonsense attitude of the female lead as well as some really good laughs in it. she especially likes the self-defense scene and actually takes note of it.  

ashido -> legally blonde: look, there’s a lot of pink in this movie and she’s into it. also the fact that elle woods is a feminist icon and mina often uses the iconic line, “what? like it’s hard?” to commemorate her.

jiro -> freaky friday: everything about this movie is iconic to her: the music, the style, the early 2000′s vibes. one time you asked her what she would do if you two switched places and she replied that no one would notice a thing because her impression of you is spot on. 

yaoyorozu -> love it or list it: she loves some hgtv on a do-nothing sunday but this show, in particular, has both looking at pretty houses or building a better house. it’s also like research for her in trying to find useful things that she could try to make with her quirk. 

shinso -> cabin in the woods: he is definitely the type to make fun of most scary movies but the fact that this one does it for him makes it just pure gold. however, its notoriety with him falters just a bit as he prefers that you hold onto him a little more like you do when you watch other horror movies together. 

amajiki -> zootopia: he likes cute things, which mostly includes you and animals. not only is it a fun and empowering movie, but he also loves that the main character is a rabbit when he’s watching it with his favorite bunny.

hado -> harry potter: she’s a nerd at heart and a long-time fan. she’s pretty sure that she’s a ravenclaw and she’d be the seeker of the quidditch team. sometimes she talks about how fun it would be if you met at hogwarts instead of ua but at the end of the day, she likes the uniqueness of everything about you and your relationship.

utsushimi -> mean girls: like jiro, she’s into the 2000′s high school movie vibes. she knows all the famous quotes from this movie but she’s determined to come up with a better trend than “so fetch.” 

fuyumi -> bad teacher: while she is a responsible and level-headed person, she likes to have a laugh or two with you and an irreverent movie like this one. it makes it especially ironic since she is in the education industry.  

dabi -> any true crime documentary: it’s pretty on-brand of him to eat up true, sometimes unsolved stories of murder and serial killers. he finds it interesting but he’s also lowkey taking mental notes while watching. in another life, he thinks he’d be someone who would want to try to solve mysteries like them.

Wormwood & Realgar (T, 24.4k)

Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply, Recreational Drug Use, Implied/Referenced Creature Abuse, Graphic Description of a Failed Transformation (Animagus)

Summary: In which Harry has a dragon to find, a heart to return, and two mountains to climb.

This was written for the 2021 Quidditch Fair, with a note from the author apologizing to the prompter about world building too much and that if the readers wanted to skip to the prompt, they could only read the last chapter. I’m here to tell you if you want to do that, it’s valid, but you’ll be doing yourself a HUGE disservice. 

The world building in Wormwood & Realgar is stellar. It’s a completely unique take on dragons in an area that I know of, but haven’t really thought much about beyond, hey all the pictures I’ve seen of Kyrgyzstan are really pretty and omg I can’t spell for shit. The descriptions of Lake Issyk-Kul and the mountains are lush and made me want to visit as soon as possible. Every scene felt like I was watching a documentary about the area. The places Harry and Draco visit were bright in my head. 

In this world, dragons and their riders (Solomonar) share a magical bond, allowing them to communicate and ensuring trust and respect. Harry has been labeled a Solomonar but he’s still in search of his dragon. Draco is an Arithmancer— in charge of the safety of the dragons and their riders, and working on finding his Animagus shape in his downtime. However, on their way to Kyrgyzstan, Malfoy’s wards are taken down, then there’s an attack on Charlie Weasley and his dragon, Yulia. As both instances were supposedly under Draco’s care, he becomes the main suspect.

We get the story from both Harry and Draco’s POV and it weaves a beautiful story about reincarnation and soul bonds. The writing is exquisite: each word seems to be carefully picked to create each sentence. The plot is tight without being overwhelming, and the love story is delicate and vulnerable. There are a few OCs that are lovely (the Shaman, Madam Cholpon, who takes Draco in is a particular favorite) and each is treated with a deft hand. 

I absolutely adored this fic. It’s gorgeous, lush, and has some of the most well done, bittersweet moments I’ve read. It’s sad in a beautiful way without delivering angst and it has a very happy ending.

The Boys in Heels

I decided to go ahead with this hc. I have so many opinions about the boys in heels. 

in our lineup today is Fred, George, Draco, Neville, Ron, Harry, and Cedric and Oliver have been added!

Fred

Fred saw you walking around in heels during a school ball and he loved them

Like loved them

Baby boy was simping over you in these pretty sandal shoes, he liked how your legs looked in them

Fred is already a very tall boi, but he still wanted to wear heels

So you dug out that same pair of blue heels and enlarged them slightly to fit his feet

Boy also wanted to paint his toenails to match so why not

He stood up and immediately fell over and then you nearly did laughing

“HELP ME UP!” “AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

He grabbed onto your arm and slowly stood up and then taught himself to walk in heels 

He looked at himself in your mirror and just started beaming

Spent about ten minutes just looking at his legs

He started strutting around the common room in the heels 

After this you got him his own pair in red

George

Georgie was going on a date with you

You walked down from the girls dorms in a pair of pastel yellow heels 

George is a softie by nature so he swooned

And he was way into it

“Love you’re so much taller! How do you walk in them?”

He asks if he can wear a pair of yours a couple weeks later.

So you find an older pair of pink heels and enlarge them

He tries them on and immediately does that dinosaur walk that people do when they first wear heels 

His legs are all bent and he looks like a baby giraffe trying to walk for the first time so you narrate it like the old BBC documentary you and him watched together

“The baby giraffe stumbles and falters before-” “SHUT UP YOU”RE MEAN- OH SHIT I THINK IT GOT IT!” “The baby giraffe is successful.” “Must you taunt me?”

You two start dancing around the common room to old music and after he decides he wants to start wearing them often

Eventually when he and his brother open WWW he wears heels on the first day to boost his confidence

The first pair you get him is a set of pastel pink heels and he wears them so much the heel just snaps off at some point

Draco

He saw you in heels before he even really knew you

You had that whole badass aesthetic and wore those high knee style heels

He admired how badass you looked

So he actually went and just bought a similar pair himself a few months after you were together

He surprised you a couple weeks later

“What do you think, love?” “You look fantastic!”

Maybe it’s the whole rich pureblood thing, where they teach him to act and talk but he actually already knows how to walk and act in heels

It was actually Narcissa, he observed how his mother walked and started to model it

Draco doesn’t wear them super often, he just pulls them out when he doesn’t feel as confident

Probably pulls out a skirt as well

But not too often since he finds heels to painful

“Wimp.” “Hey, I’m delicate.”

Over time, he buys other heels, mostly in black and green

But he always comes back to those first ones

Neville

Neville was always a little intimidated by you 

You wore these dark combat boot style heels 

And you were always so confident

You just put out that vibe of “Do not fuck with me”

Whereas his vibe was like “Hey, you could probably pour soup in my lap and I’d apologize to you” 

So even after he’d gotten to know you it took a long time

You brought it up because he was always staring at yours

He was very sheepish, but eventually agreed

Now, contrary to popular belief, Neville is actually pretty tall, so he didn’t want anything that would make him stand out too much

So you found a tiny little kitten heel style thing

He was insecure about the noise the heels made, so you placed a spell so that the heels wouldn’t make the little click clacking sound when he walked

First day he wore them, he looked insecure, so you convinced a couple other girls to walk around with the two of you and all of you shower him with compliments

He’s bright red the whole day but the smile never leaves his face

After, he gets more confident and starts buying more heels

Harry

Harry saw a pair of red pumps in Hogsmeade by himself and bought a pair saying they were for his girlfriend

“You’re girlfriend has big feet” “You’ve got something to say about my girlfriend?” “No, mate, sorry.”

He kept them at the bottom of his trunk, he never thought you would find it 

You were helping him reorganize his trunk and he completely forgot it was there

You pulled them out and he snatched them back almost immediately

“What are these?” “NOTHING! They’re nothing!” “They look like a pair of heels.”

He just stuttered for about a minute before confessing

“I thought you would have a problem.” “Why the hell would I have a problem?”

By the time you found out he’d learned to walk in them and eventually you convinced him to wear them in front of you

So far it’s more of a you and him thing but he’ll get out there eventually

Ron

Ron’s height is similar to the twins so he already towered over most people

But he was just slightly shorter than his brothers

And it bothered him

They always poked fun at him for it “how’s the weather down there” “I’m only a little shorter than you two!” “Couldn’t hear you from up here, sorry Ronniekins!”

So you offered the idea that he should wear heels

Initially he does it as a joke

Staggers into the Great Hall wearing six inch black heels and makes a comment about the twins height

But soon he finds that he kind of likes the heels, likes how confident they make him feel

“I see why women wear them. They’re painful as hell but I feel powerful.”

Over time he starts wearing them more

He rolled his ankle once though in an incident and stayed away from them for about a month

But when he got back into them he was as active as ever

But he’s never running in them again

Never. Again.

Cedric

Cedrics a pretty boy

We been knew

But he initially did it on a dare, you and your housemates dared him to wear them for a day since he had never known the pain of walking around for 8+ hours in heels

So he shows up to the first school dance of the year in 5 inch black stilettos and a suit

Big mistake on his part

He twisted an ankle 5 seconds in

You had to half carry him to Madame Pomphrey and you both spent the first 20 minutes of the dance in the hospital wing while his ankle healed

But after that he started wearing them a little more often

He was always getting dared to do stuff so he started trying stunts in his heels

It began with just running but he tried to jump and that was successful and now he cartwheels around the castle in heels sometimes and you are very worried he’ll end up with broken legs

You find him a pair of comfortable heels (those two words are antonyms) and he now prefers those

You still worry he will hurt himself

“Are you about to jump off that tree and land in heels again?” “No?” And then the fucker jumps

But sometimes he just wears them for fun because he likes them

Oliver

Oliver is a very athletic boy

He never really things about the idea of feeling pretty

But he saw you wearing those like sneaker heels that don’t really look like sneakers

Or rather he just noticed that you were taller

So he asked if he could wear a similar pair cause he’s always been a little insecure about his height

He’s not even short (not that it matters) but still

So you let him borrow them

And we walks into the common room with so much goddamn confidence

After that he wears a pair of heeled boots and feels 10 times better

He wears them to a quidditch game once and when he kicks a quaffle away from the highest hoop he punches a hole it the ball

So because of him heels are now banned during quidditch

But other than that he’s doing great with the heels

Wears them around an to class, the noise the louder ones make draws attention to him that he really likes

You can hear him coming before you see him

Although Madame Pince did not seem to appreciate that

Oh well, you win some you lose some

Besides, Ollies happy, and he looks beautiful, so what else could you ask for?

Molly- We watch rom-coms together the first one I got her to watch was 50 first dates, she thought it was very cute yet didn't understand why Lucy (the love interest) didn't just take a memory elixir to cure her amnesia she was also a little confused about the notion of actors...

Author- the first movie we watched was Shrek... I love him I do yet that was the only movie I ever watched with him, he just didn't understand why the "painting is behaving like that" I tried to explain how movies work, he just thought wed fucked up moving Portraits

Moony- I know he's not a pureblood, yet once a month the dads harry and I all get together to watch a movie, I was surprised to learn that he likes werewolf stories, side not, teen wolf is an odd watch with you Dads

Siri- Watching him yell at the tv about proper werewolf culture and how they would actually act in the muggle world is why I don't like watching teen wolf, ITS A FUCKING SHOW SIRI AS FAR AS MUGGLS KNOW WARWOLFS ARE MADE UP

Meth- Not a movie but watching sports with her is fun, the commentary 10/10

Fab- 0/10 don't watch sports with he gets mad that I know soccer and baseball yet have no clue how quidditch works like I grew up playing soccer and baseball, Gramps was a pro baseball player for a stretch, of course, I know baseball

Aster- cooking shows all the way, if you mention how something looks good she will try it out herself, Watching cooking shows is how she taught me to cook

Reg- comedy is the best with him, he laughs so hard at all the jokes, I just love the joy he has for movies

Bill- Documentaries are his favorite to watch, ok my favorite to watch with him, it's so cool to see how confused he is about everything muggle, like it's so so funny

Fleur- Project runway, her judgment on muggle fashion is s funny to me

Charley- How to train your dragon, he loves that shit, he literally cried when the last movie ended, I mean it's great, but like.... he was surprised how accurate the dragons were

Percy- surprisingly he likes watching romcoms with me and Mum, he's confused a lot but he's such a romantic

Oliver- he now wants to star in a documentary about quidditch

George- The best to get drunk/high with and watch a sad movie with, we watched the Bridge to Terabithia together when my Gran died, one of the first movies we saw together, we didn't talk about it, still don't yet its an unspoken rule with us that if one of us texts "Terabithia" it means to bring the Vodka and ice cream, we also watched Dead Poets Society the night before I had to defend my dissertation

Angelina- I will say I'm not really that close to her, yet watching star wars with her was amazing, I mean that could have to do with how much pot I had done, but still, great to watch with her

Ron- Hermione is obsessed with horror, he loves it too unless there is anything to do with bugs, which far, but criminal minds is so fucking fun to watch with him, except for when he thought he should become a wizard cop and leave Weasley Wizard Weeses

Harry- I mean we only watch with the dads so... well he is still confused on how the tv works, which is great cus that means Moony and I have a monopoly on the show choice

Draco- 10 things I hate about you is our movie, the number of times we've seen it, he can quote it and I love that for him

Gin- Loves anything I put on, she doesn't really get it yet she knows I like it so we watch a movie every Friday together and if we can once a month we will go to see a new release

Pumpkin Juice!

James stepped out of the Floo into the living room of his childhood home. It was good to be home. Halloween was a special day for the Potter family, who gathered together every year to both celebrate but also commiserate. James took his place at the dinner table. It appeared that he was the last one to arrive. Al was sat next to Scorpius across from him, Lily and his dad were having a discussion to his right, and he could hear his mum in the kitchen.

His suspicions were confirmed when Ginny walked into the room. “James! So nice to see you. It’s been what, two months? Three? Too busy to visit your mum now?” Ginny teased. She summoned three glasses from the cabinet and they floated down in front of Albus, Scorpius, and James. “Now what does everyone want to drink?”

“Pumpkin Juice.”

“Pumpkin Juice.”

“Pumpkin Ju—“

“Stop!” Lily shouted. “Whatever you do, James, don’t finish that word.” Her face was suddenly pale, like she had seen a ghost.

“Merlin, Lil. What is it now?” James shot back, already frustrated with his sister and her odd habits. “All I was going to say was ‘Pumpkin Ju—‘” James attempted to say, but this time the word cut short on its own. He opened his mouth to try again. No sound at all came from his mouth.

“Lily, no hexing your brother,” Harry calmly scolded.

“But, Dad! He was going to say it again!”

Normally James would enjoy watching his sister and father argue, but seeing as how it was delaying the return of his voice he instead glared daggers at them both.

“I don’t see what the fuss is all about, but you can’t just hex people. Your mum asked for drink orders and he was just saying, ‘Pumpkin Ju’”—a shimmering Protego appeared as Lily fired her silencing charm at Harry and it ricocheted off, knocking one of Al’s school pictures off the wall—“You may be of age, young lady, but I will still ground you. No broom for a month!”

“Will everyone just stop trying to say You-Know-What.” Lily pleaded.

At this point, Ginny stepped in before her family started dueling over drink orders. “Will you both put your wands down? This is a family dinner, not a meeting of the DA”—James glared at his mum but remained silent, not by choice—“Lily, dear. Why don’t you explain things so that everyone understands? Then we can move past this.”

“I think it’s safe now, but you can’t say ‘Pumpkin Juice’ three times in a row or he’ll come. It’s one of those things you just don’t do. Especially not on Halloween, of all nights. The veil between our world and the spirit world is too thin. Rose and I were watching a Muggle documentary on the subject and it was scary.”

“Okay,” Harry spoke up, “while that sounds like a bunch of Divination nonsen—“

Ginny cleared her throat.

“What I mean is while that sounds... unlikely, I think we all can be adults here and respect your request.” Harry’s eyes flicked to Ginny, assessing if she approved of his speech. He smiled. “Now, if you would please apologize to your brother and remove the spell, we can get back to our night.”

“Fine,” she said, reluctantly, as she drew her wand and pointed it at James. “Finite Incantatem.”

James felt the magic free his vocal cords and he smiled back at Lily. “Pumpkin Juice! Pumpkin Juice! Pumpkin Juice!” he shouted triumphantly, laughing as fear ignited in her eyes. She held her wand at the ready, head sweeping in all directions, clearly anticipating a sudden ambush.

Everyone waited. But when nothing happened after a solid minute had passed, Lily spoke up. “You know what? Now that I think about it, I think it was ‘Beetlejuice,’ not ‘Pumpkin Juice.’ My bad.”

“Oh no you don’t,” James argued. “You won’t get out of this that easily. You hexed me. There are witnesses. I want justice”—thump—“What was that?” James scrambled to draw his wand. “I swear, Lil, if this is one of your little tricks.”

“Me?! You are the one that has no respect for the occult!” She put on her fake-James voice, “Look at me, I’m James Potter. Quidditch player extraordinaire, and I’m going to invite a dangerous demon into my family home for a laugh.”

“Hello?” came a voice from the other room. Six wands appeared at the ready.

“Ladies first,” James said to Lily.

Lily stood from her chair, clearly gathering her courage before she turned to face the direction the voice came from. “Spirit of the Underworld! Be gone from this house! You will regret it if you attempt to enter—“

Suddenly Teddy’s head appeared around the doorframe. He eyed Lily curiously. “Am I interrupting something? I can leave.”

“Teddy!” Harry exclaimed in a cheerful voice. “You made it! Come in, stay. We were just telling ghost stories.” He gave a chuckle and the rest of the room joined in.

Teddy headed over to James, who threw himself into Teddy’s arms. “Someone missed me,” he whispered into James’s hair. They shared a silent moment together. “I know I said I wouldn’t be able to make it, babe, but my schedule cleared up suddenly.”

“I’m glad you’re here, Pumpkin,” James whispered back.

Hi! I was hoping I could still request a ship for the golden era! (preferably male) (This is technically for my friend bc she doesn’t have a tumblr)

So she’s an Aries, INTJ, and a slytherin

People find her really intimidating bc she dresses really cool and she kind of has an RBF, but she’s actually kind of a nerd (affectionate)

She’s incredibly loyal to her close friends but she won’t hesitate to spill other people’s secrets

She’s really stubborn and very competitive

If she’s mean to her friends, it’s never actually serious

She has a really specific sense of humor that not everyone really gets, but I personally think she’s the funniest person I know (besides myself)

She’s quite an introvert and doesn’t like going to parties or anything like that (she doesn’t like leaving her room in general), BUT she always enjoys being with/talking to her friends

She’s really smart and can be extremely dedicated to something she cares about

She LOVES animals more than anything and is basically a walking nature documentary

History is her favorite subject in school and she does really, really well in it

She always has her nails painted no matter what- usually a different color on each hand

She is very, very organized- she’s always on time, if not 20 minutes early, to everything, she will make an itinerary for every vacation down to the minute, and will plan things MONTHS in advance just for fun

This girl is the QUEEN of holding grudges- if you get in a fight with her she will never ever be the first to apologize

But honestly, she’s the funniest, (secretly) sweetest, and most interesting person I know. She also really loves dinosaurs.

I ship her with Ron weasley!

First of all, he'd adore how head strong she is. He's used to it but that means it's also something he finds comfort in! He loves that she's a slytherin, especially whenever he sees her in the red and gold versus her own house colors. A smirk never fails to grace his face whenever he sees it.

He adores her style and giggles about her rbf and the way it seems to almost ward people away, knowing how kind she really is. He loves how unique it is, unlike his own clothes that is mainly hand me downs and hand sewn from his mother. Ron will always love to slip her shirts over his own head even if it's not his person style.

Loyalty is something that is so important to him, and his entire family really. They've had so much go wrong and just want to keep safe, the way she's such a vault is greatly appreciated by all of the weasleys. Occasionally they might ask about some information if they think it'll help the cause.

He'd absolutely bother and beg hermione to tell him about her favorite animals and any other animals she happens to mention due to the fact that they're not something he has a great deal of information on. It's obvious the way he tried to cram all the information he possibly could by the way he seems to mix animals and facts about them up. Poor boy is trying, really is.

He doesn't mind that she's a bit of a wallflower, although he'd love it if she were to come to a quidditch game and the following after party to show off. A bit of a peacock he is, especially if it was a rather rough game that he helped greatly on.

He'd be so shy about asking her to paint his nails, and would love the orange color that matches his flaming hair. He can't help but blush due to the silent intimacy of the act, especially when she goes to check the paint and the way she holds his hands so gently in her own.

Good luck trying to get this boy on a schedule, he thrives in the hectic situations he seems to worm himself into. While she might have everything ready for classes, he's lucky to be able to remember some parchment and a quill. His hair all over the place, not even seeing a brush, and robes so crooked you might think they'll fall any moment.

The fights would be god awful. His temper and need to be heard overriding the voice telling him to take a moment to cool down, that he needs to simply think about the issue and how to solve it or if a compromise is needed. Not to mention the stuttered half mumbled apologies that she can barely hear but he means it. He's not used to properly apologizing instead of brushing the fight off and moving on past the issue.

Overall, he'd adore her and everything about her that makes her special. Even if some of her habits drive him up the wall slightly.

He doesn’t care which team wins or loses, he’s a very casual fan

Most of the time he doesn’t even know the teams names

He just likes watching the ball be passed around

And seeing if someone scores, and his mind wanders off to Quidditch

Ron:

Ever since Ron discovered cartoons, he’s in love

They are so funny and entertaining, he can watch them for hours

He also secretly enjoys the emotional moments they have sometimes

Even if he loves them because they make him laugh so hard

Besides, they are cheerful and comforting and he loves that

Just accompany them with a good snack and he’s set

Neville:

Neville would really enjoy watching documentaries

He likes that he learns a lot about so many things

Not only about animals or nature, also about climate and many other subjects

And a lot of things about muggles too

He also finds comfort in documentaries, they’re relaxing for him

So they are a win win situation, relaxing and educational

Dean:

Dean has a guilty pleasure with bad cheesy reality shows

He watches them ironically and at the same time he likes them

For the most part, though, he has a good laugh out of them

Even if he does get hooked to know how they’ll finish

Curiosity gets to the best of him and he doesn’t want to miss a thing

Seamus:

I have a feeling that Seamus would love cooking shows

Not that he would actually cook as they teach in them

He has tried, and he burns absolutely everything

He always jokes that he would mess up a simple salad

But Seamus is very entertained by cooking shows

It reminds him of potions, just without the magic

And of course, without Snape, which is another plus

Maisie, Fred, and Bennett walked to the barn.

“Annie?”

“Oliver?”

Bennett stopped in front of the open barn doors.

“That’s new...”

“What’s-oh come on”

“What?-oh god”

Annie and oliver were aggressively making out against a bale of hay.

“Oi! You two! Quidditch stars!” Fred called, and the two broke apart quickly, lipstick smudged over their mouths and necks, clothes rumpled, and bits of hay sticking out of their hair.

“Yes?” Annie asked, smiling awkwardly, her cheeks nearly as red as the sweater she had on.

“Dinner! Fifteen!”

“Thanks” Oliver waved the three off.

“Red’s a lovely color on you, Ollie” Maisie smirked as the three walked off. Annie looked at Oliver and had to cover her mouth to stifle her laugh. Oliver nearly did the same, as she was in similar disarray.

“We look like clowns”

“I dunno, I’m getting sexy murderer”
