I have never watching Sleeping beauty or Maleficent

I hope that in book 8—which hopefully there is—the cast discovers the truth about the “great seven.” Namely, that while they were all great, they still did awful things.  (Seriously, attempted child murder is on all their lists, and it barely meets the top 5 of their crimes for most.)

It’s a great reflective moment to see how they all could have turned out if they didn’t have friends to reel them in, or how they could still turn out if not careful.

It also be interesting to see how it rocks their world. The people they admired and looked up to were villains, all of whom earned their titles as VILLAINS.

This would be especially interesting to see in Malleus, who is a direct descendant of Maleficent (1939). A woman who loved being wicked so much that she named herself the Mistress of Evil. Provided they don’t turn her into her wicked rip-off, which I don’t think they will as they use clips of her original version and whatnot. But I digress.

This would especially be meaningful if Silver was a descendant of Aurora (which is canon because I say so and I have a twst cannon. It’s on paper and not real, but I have it nonetheless).

Oh! And I want the cast to fight the OG villain just because I think it would be awesome!

Think about it: Leona against Scar and his army of Hyenas in a battle of wits and strength; Riddle vs. the Tyrannical Queen of Hearts; The Evil Queen and Vil in a beauty face-off; Ursula and Azul attempting to scam one another; Jamil and Jafar in a game of wits; Hades and Idia trading witty comebacks; DRAGON MALEFICENT VS DRAGON MALLEUS!

But that’s just me.

Random TCF Related Thought - Fairy Tales

In canon proper, we know that fairy tales do exist in Nameless 1, or at least, fiction geared towards children.

Well, I was reading some TCF React fics and found a hilarious moment where Heni!KRS was explaining fairy tales to Cale's kids and was shooketh to find out that Cale had butchered some of Earth's classic fairy tales into loosely-based-on stories (to put it gently) cuz apparently the "princess-in-distress" trope would not be relatable if every princess IRL they know could easily save themselves in a simailar or same situation. Therefore, Badass Action Girl!Princesses FTW.

Where am I going with this?

So my shower thought is that Cale one day decided to invoke his inner Brothers Grimm and published his own book series based off of Earth's classic fairy tales.

But here's the twist: He uses the Walt Disney versions but made every Disney Princess BAMFs.

Sorry, Mr. Walt Disney. Your own versions of Earth's classic fairy tales were a product of your time, but your 50s sensibilities won't fly when all of the princesses Cale knows can easily break a full grown man man in tiny little pieces, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Besides, he wants little girls like On and Lily to have strong female role models to aspire to be even if it's in fiction.

Sleeping Beauty? Aurora is based on Roselyn. She finds out that she got cursed by Maleficent, who is a whole Dragon that her father had offended by failing to invite her to his unborn daughter's christening like he promised, so she threw away her status as crown princess to become a mage out of spite and break the curse on her own. In the end, she succeeds and managed to tracked down Maleficent to her lair. Maleficent is so impressed by her moxie that the Dragon took her on as an apprentice. By the time, Prince Phillip shows up hoping to slay the Dragon and take Aurora back to his kingdom so they can be married, the story is already over.

Beauty and the Beast? Belle is the village chief's daughter and the most beautiful girl in the tribe. Belle is a Tiger and Lion mixed-blood Beastman and also pining after the cute human bookworm named Adam in the next village over. Dorph the greater value Gaston can go fuck himself for all she cares. TLDR: Role Reversal AU and Belle is Dark Tiger!Alberu.

Cinderella? Cinderella is a secretly a Shaman. Everything is the same up until the whole dress ruining scene. After that, Cinderella invokes the spirit of Queen Jopis, stopped giving a shit, and turned the rest of the plot into a shitshow. Her evil stepfamily is given the OG!Brothers Grimm treatment.

Pocahontas? Everything is the same except the Powhatans are all Elves. Ratcliffe is the White Bitchless.

Hunchback of Notre Dame? The plot is the same, but Esmeralda is a Dark Elf, and Quasimodo is half-Dark Elf. Frollo is replaced by Adin just so he can fall off the roof a second time.

Aladdin? Jasmine is also a thief. She looted what should've been her dowry from the Sultan, her annoying suitors' wealth, Genie's lamp, Carpet from the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin's heart, and Jafar aka the White Hobo Looking's dignity and respect, not in that order, then whisked Aladdin off of his bare feet and away to her own personal kingdom. Basically, Cale reimagined her as Fem!Hong Gildong.

The Little Mermaid? Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending where Prince Eric is a Whale Prince and Ariel is still a Mermaid, and both their families got scammed into finally burying the hatchet by Ursula.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves? Snow White is a Dwarf too, and the plot is basically an otome where she has seven suitors from different tribes, and the Evil Queen (*couch*Elisneh*cough*) is, of course, the jealous villainess.

Brave: Everything's the same except Sayeru gets abused more than Mor'du in this book.

Frozen: Everything's the same except Prince Hans is swapped out for Sir Bernard cuz Hans the goodest butler doesn't deserve to be associated with scum.

Tangled: Everything's the same except it's Adin who takes a swan dive off of the tower.

Mulan: Everything's the same except the Huns are replaced by Arm.

Icewing Headcanons

(Info below the cut)

OK. FINALLY GETTING TO THESE AGAIN. I got the motivation when going back to working on designs for horror movie villains (+the Final Girl). I greatly apologize about not getting these done sooner. Hopefully you all enjoy these last 5 headcanons and the designs. As a fair warning two of them look a lot like their canon designs. I will explain more in those posts specifically.

Tribe Headcanons

Icewings have icicle like spikes along their neck that work similarly to a North American porcupine's quills. Meaning that they're loosely attached. Though, they can still pierce another dragon. These quills have tiny little barbs that keep the quills stuck. This makes it extremely hard and extremely painful to take the spikes out of another dragon.

Their horns branch similarly to an elk's or caribou's antlers as one of the very few ways you can rise in the ranks is by fighting for dominance. Normally this is one by the matriarch of the family.

Their ears are made of a thicker layer of skin and have a thin layer of muscle around the middle sections of the ear. Meaning that their ears can do a lot more movement than other dragons. Though it also means that this muscle can easily be torn if not careful. Much like the human eyelid.

The thick skin goes along with their wing membranes. This makes them one of the loudest flyers besides Hivewings.

Icewings can be under the arctic waters for around an hour, their nostrils working a lot like a seal's nostrils or a marine mammal's blowhole.

Fur covers the entirety of an Icewing's body to help keep them warm in the frozen lands they inhabit. Some Icewings end up sharing patters with arctic animals such as arctic hares or lynx.

Though, patterns seem to be extremely looked down upon. Typically being considered an impurity in the ice nests the young hatched from. The only accepted pattern is a darker gradient going into a lighter gradient. It's only been in the most recent ruler's time as queen that this belief has been slowly worked on unlearning.

Most Icewings have some form of gradient on the top of their wings while the bottom is the lightest color on their body.

Icewings are well known for being pursuit predators, having the most stamina when they run out of all of the tribes. Most of the time prey is caught in a group with a leader of the hunt.

These hunting groups works similarly to a pack of wolves as they are all the same rank. One is considered the "Alpha", or leader, of the group and another is considered the "Beta", or second in command, of the group to keep things organized. Alphas and betas are considered responsible for the lives and performance of their group, meaning they can get put into a lower circle if their efforts are not good enough.

There is a rare coloration morph an Icewing can get called Auroran. It is considered a version of melanistic where the coloration on an Icewing match up colors to the northern lights. This means they can end up being colored to any color of the aurora.

Environment also dictates coloration. Closer to a forest most of the time will cause them to look more green. Closer to an ocean would bring out more of a blue coloration. Closer to the sky means either a more purple or pink-ish coloration. Barren icelands or ground level of the palace will grant a teal-ish coloration. Sometimes this is a great indication of which rank they came from.

Icewings are considered the second grumpiest tribe while also being the coldest. Unlike skywings that seem angry or easily annoyed, Icewings tend to be arrogant, cold, or conniving with their grumpiness. Some believe it's due to their close-mindedness.

Icewings have the opposite to an ancient sandwing's fire scales. This cold is the only thing that can combat a skywing's fire scales, and even potentially freeze them with frost bite. Most Icewings, though, only have a chill that come off of them naturally and isn't enough to combat a fire scales skywing.

Icewings are also well known for holding festivals, but most of the time it is only rumored as no one is able to cross into their border to really get the full story.

If an Icewing were to be a hybrid of any sort, their blood will come out as a bluish tinted purple color. This can cause their coloration to have purple coloration, especially in the spikes, horns, and face.

Icewings aren't as quick to anger as Seawings, but they are more ruthless. Their loyalty to their queen is unmatched though. This is due to how their society works and has been for many generations.

An Icewing will almost always think about everything they do and the outcomes due to how their society is and how brutal it is when looking at their strict rules.

Lore Headcanons

Icewing society was one of the first societies to exist. First it was made of militant group, then they had kings until their society started becoming matriarchal. Their society eventually being lead by females or fem presenting (transfem and fem nonbinary individuals specifically) individuals.

It is said that they're the first tribe to have an animus dragon. Meaning that they're the first to control it and learned how to "properly" keep them from becoming murderers.

Family groups are not too important in Icewing society due to their use of the circles and the gift of order. Families can be separated at any point, typically when the dragonets become adults and either move up or down in the ranks.

Icewings have communal homes for dragonets in different circles that work similarly to private schools. These communal homes are meant to provide dragonets their best chances at rising in the ranks. Though, not all do. Normally being rare (much like a lower grade school in the US) as they don't always have the resources.

It is Considered an honor for lower ranked Icewings to be called out to a war as it means that if they come back with enough kills, they can potentially come back with a higher rank. Though these opportunities are far and few in between.

Their festivals are normally to celebrate the northern lights. It is said that during the great battle between the Icewings and Nightwings, and Auroran Icewing went into battle and slaugtered tens of hundreds of them in a week on their own. Eventually dying and ending the war temporarily. Eventually dying the night where the northern lights came out. There are also festivals similar to yule as it is culturally believed the first Icewings didn't have their current resistance to the cold.

Most Frost scales Icewings were killed during the animus scare. Though not all were killed and aren't considered as dangerous as an animus. Though, they are looked down upon until recent wars that they were cast into to try to combat sandwings and skywings.

Current exports of the Icewings are pelts and taxidermy due to their knowledge on how to properly take care of the hide and bones. Though, some tend to export lumber and delicacies only in the Ice Kingdom.

Drawing Inspirations

Turkish Angoras were the cat species I took some inspiration from for the body typing.

"Till I Collapse" by Eminem was great inspiration for drawing, but I imagine any militaristic beat will work for Icewings due to the militaristic society I see them having.

Used a lynx for the patterns on this one. Plus the idea of when you pick up snow while the temperature warms gave me the idea of "impurities" patterns imply to their society.

Basically they're giant antlered penguins when they swim, which is why they have counter shading as well

Even though we all know it's eventually going to bring disastrous consequences for Amalia, I'm so glad she didn't just control her fight with Aurora since the very beginning, but that she got to call her out on her foolishness and undeserved arrogance. I was really getting ready to call bullshit had Aurora at some point gained the upperhand by some sort of "legitimate" skill of hers.

Because Amalia is absolutely right! She never stood a chance because, realistically speaking, she never should have!

Ever since she was first introduced in season 3, there has never been any indication that Aurora knows how to fight. In fact, I'd say there's never even been any indication that anyone in her family is actually skilled at combat. Ashdur seriously looked more like a bodybuilder or circus strongman than a warrior, for example.

But Aurora especially seems to have been raised to be married off to some other nation's heir to act as his arm candy rather than an actual queen and partner capable of running a kingdom in her husband's absence. During the entire time we've known her, she's never displayed any leadership, diplomacy, or tactical skills, let alone battle prowress. We all know it; for the entirety of season 4 and the webtoon, she's done nothing but quietly and passively follow Armand around and then act snide towards Amalia alongside her father.

And how could we forget the one time she took proactive action, she immediately had to retreat because she was lightly struck by lightening, which, and I cannot stress this enough, amounted to a small burn on her hand?

(Most dramatic bird I've ever seen, I swear to God...)

Not to mention that at the first sign of things not going her way or taking a direction she doesn't approve of, her first instinct is either to stand powerless and cry about it or throw a tantrum and recklessly and impulsively throw herself headfirst into things without thinking about the possible consequences.

All the while treating Amalia like nothing but a spoiled brat that is beneath her and who she can easily dispose of. But as Amalia pointed out, due to her complete and utter lack of experience in the real world and inability to let go of her self-perceived importance and worth or even acknowledge her own mistakes and privileges, the only spoiled brat here is Aurora.

Meanwhile, Amalia's adventures have allowed her to grow in ways no other royal can even fathom. She learned to let go of her prejudices when she worked with Pandiego; learned to refuse to be cowed into submission and fight for what she believes in when she went against Armand's orders; aside from the ocassional tantrum that is mostly played for laughs, she values the people around her as much more than mere servants or how she can benefit from them; she's fought wars, faced monsters, dragons, and demigods, and an undead, unbeatable army of Wakfu-vampires; and, if that weren't enough, her position as Sadida Princess and later Queen, hence protector of the Tree of Life and Sadida Kingdom, already implies the entirety of the Sheran Sharms are taught the art of combat in order to fulfill their duties to their kingdom.

Which can be seen when Armand and King Oakheart were the first in line during the war against Nox back in season 1, and again against the Nécromes (in Armand's case). As opposed to the Osamodas King, who didn't just neglect to send troops to help the supposed allied nation his daughter ruled over, but said daughter went as far as confirming he barely ever leaves his cave, always delegating everything on members of his court.

In other words, even before she met Yugo, Amalia already was a Warrior Princess by virtue of her family and their devotion to their kingdom, while Aurora never evolved from spoiled princess. And the fact that she failed to take Amalia's real world experience into account, besides how vastly she overpowers her and her father, only highlights how her own ego and pride blind her to reason: she really never stood a chance.

In short? Will Amalia's bludgeoning of the Osamodas bring unfortunate consequences? Yes, most definitely. Did they deserve it? Abso-fucking-lutely.

Clarrise - Snapdragon Skulls

Snapdragons carry a meaning of gracefulness and deception, but when they die, the seed pods end up taking a peculiar skull shape.

I chose for Clarrise the same flower we picked for her son Vaun, but at a different stage. These Snapdragons Skulls always looked haunted to me, and they fit her character really well. I can't wait to learn more about her and see her in action, terrifying as she is!

Synopsis: during the christening of princess Aurora, Aemond curses her, in classical Sleeping Beauty fashion, unknowingly setting off a chain of events bound to change the course of his life, and yours.

Once upon a time, there was a happy kingdom, governed by a wise king and a gentle queen, who had a beautiful daughter, princess Aurora.

Our story begins on the day of her christening, when you meet, and clash, with Aemond Targaryen.

You have heard of him, up in the woodlands where your kind lives and, obviously, expected him to be at the christening of the princess, the king and the queen having invited all the magic folks, as the rules of hospitality bound them to.

They didn’t and you can feel the worry ripple through the assembly, shushed whispers throughout the ceremony, all your combined magics buzzing, the fear slowly decreasing, only to explode when he appears, in a whirlwind of sapphire blue wind, while you all are bestowing the child with their gifts.

You’ve only heard stories, which did him no justice: it isn’t the fairness of his face, enhanced by the scar partially hidden by the eyepatch, or his imposing figure clad in black leather that takes you breath away, it’s the sheer magic power he exudes.

He was supposed to be diminished, as was his dragon, when the sapphire storing part of his magic was lost during the family feud known as the Dance of the Dragons, yet his energy seems capable of filling the room to the brim, drowning the collective one of the supernatural creatures of the assembly. You feel like chocking on it and on the hate you can sense coming from him, his tall body almost absorbing the light from the stained glass windows adorning the Royal Chapel.

“What an awkward situation.” He says, voice deep and gentle. “It seems like everyone has been invited.”

His one eye stares at the assembly and stops on the cradle, the small she-dragon perched on his shoulder.

“I had to come, Your Grace.” He continues with mock in his voice. “To give your lovely daughter my gift.”

“You weren’t invited because you’re not welcome here!” Shouts the king, and you are surprised by his courage, the other humans are shaking in their boots.

“Oh dear.” Aemond says, fake sorrow tinging his words, one elegant hand going to the silver latchings of his long, black coat.

“Please,” the queen, in her terror and panic, raises her hands in prayer. “Don’t be offended.”

The smile on Aemond’s face turns your blood into ice, it’s so cold and cruel, calculating and devoid of any feelings. You know something terrible is about to happen and your mother grabs your wrist to stop you from entering the crossfire.

“But I am not, Your Grace. And to show it to you, I shall bestow my gift on your daughter, regardless.”

His boots thunder on the floor as he heads to the cradle, uselessly the king calls for his guards to protect the child, a burst of magic pushes them against the wall as Aemond’s hand gently moves the heavy brocade covering the crib.

“Indeed,” he says echoing the words of another wizard, “Will princess Aurora grow fair and beautiful, wise and magnanimous, loved and cherished by everyone she will meet. But, on her sixteenth birthday, she will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and she will die.”

The calm inevitability in his words clashes with the screams of anguish of the queen, who grabs the child in her arms, as if, in doing so, she’ll be able to protect her; the king stays rooted on the spot, like a statue, his face ashen.

“The curse has to be lifted.” You hear someone say. “There must be a way!”

“But there isn’t.” Aemond’s purple eye fixes on the magic folk. “No power on this earth will ever be able to counterfeit it.”

He is so calm, so collected, against the sea of desperation he must feel coming from you all, a smile on his graceful lips. He makes you mad, so mad that you evade the hold of your mother and, before anyone can stop you, you march towards him.

“I have yet to give the princess my gift.” You say, craning your neck to stare into his eye.

“And what that would be? You can’t be so mad to think your fairy magic can lift my curse.” He spats at you, Vhagar on his shoulder, blows small flames in your direction.

“I might be a small woodland fairy.” You walk until you are almost flush against him. “But I can still help.”

Without dropping your gaze from his, you lift your arm in the direction of the queen, who is still clutching the infant against her chest.

“I can’t lift your curse, but I can modify it.” You can feel his magic pocking at yours and elect to ignore it. “The princess will prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel, but she will not die. She will fall asleep, instead, and be awoken by her true love’s kiss.”

The joyless laugh that spills from Aemond’s mouth startles you, you were so focused on your own spell, to forget who you were facing.

“True love’s kiss! Then you truly want the child to sleep forever.” His voice is a deep rumble that you can feel in your chest.

“We shall see.” You retort, one hand lifted, ready to fight.

“We shall see indeed.” He says, grabbing it and kissing it, before disappearing again.

You are deaf to the voices around you, if it weren’t from your siblings shielding you, the crowd would have trampled over you in its desperate attempt to flee the Royal Chapel.

It’s much later, when the humans are all gone, but for the royal family, that you seem to be able to go back to yourself and realize the enormity of what you have just done and of what you are about to do.

“I want all the spinning wheels of the kingdom destroyed!” Thunders the king.

“And in the meantime? How will we protect Aurora, if he ever decides to come back?”

The fear in the queen’s voice breaks your heart, for all her gold and blue blood, she’s just a mother, who wants to keep her daughter safe.

“I can hide the princess until her sixteenth birthday.” You hear yourself say.

“What are you thinking?” The shriek from your mother makes you jump.

“Will you truly do that?”

There’s hope in the queen’s eyes that has you to focus on the situation at and, and on your own mother’s fear.

“I will, Your Grace.”

“No, you will not!” Your mother grabs your hand, but you force her to relinquish it.

“I already have a target on my back, as does the child, mother. I will find a place hidden enough to keep her safe, and myself. It is no use to bring his vendetta to our home.”

“But you’ll be all alone!”

The anguish in your mother’s voice! Your kind is known for living in huge families where no one is left the their own devices. You yourself are used to the flurry of voices and activities in the house, to not having a moment to yourself, always enjoying the company of a family member.

“I shall be fine mother.” You try to reassure her, and yourself. “I am fully capable of taking care of myself and of the princess. We will keep each other company and I will not be alone.”

Your mother knows you well, all your extended family does. They can see it in your eyes that you’re not going to back down.

“Let, at least, one of us stay with you.” Begs one of your brothers and you hug him tight.

“No. I can look after myself and, the less people we are, the less noticeable we’re going to be.”

Your family knows you are right, yet they still try to convince you to return home with them and forget about this awful problem. But you will not: you are not that kind of fairy and they know it.

Magical Girl AU: Aurora

BACKGROUND

Aurora was born the daughter of Queen Leah and King Stefan. After years of struggling to bear a child, Queen Leah turned to ask assistance from Maleficent despite her husband being against it. Maleficent with her sorcery granted the Queen's wish to have a child in exchange that her Majesty invited Maleficent to her child's christening, to which Queen Leah agreed.

After Aurora was born, Queen Leah sent Maleficent an invite to her child's christening just as she promised, once again despite King Stefan disapproving the action. After Flora, Fauna, & Merryweather gave their gifts for the baby princess, it was Maleficent's turn to give her a gift. Her gift to Aurora was that she would have the powers of witchcraft after the sun sets on her 16th birthday, where she’ll prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel which will allow Aurora to become a full-fledged witch.

While the Queen was overjoyed, the King was not, rather he did not was his child to be a part of the world of magic as he deeply feared it. Out of fear of his daughter becoming a witch, King Stefan ordered all of the spinning wheels were gathered and burned them in the royal courtyard. Worried that the King would limit their daughter, the Queen summoned the four fairies to her chambers and asked the three fairy sisters to watch over Aurora and have her practice witchcraft until she was sixteen. She also secretly appointed Maleficent to be Aurora's godmother in case the three fairies were working with her husband and try to stunt her progress.

And so, as dawn came that morning, the three fairies took Aurora to a cottage in the forest to raise her as their niece while Maleficent watched Aurora grow up from a distance.

Primrose is the familiar connected to the Maiden of Love. She was originally a dragon that was raised by Aurora after finding her in forest alone one winter. Primrose's appearance looks similar to a violet babydragon.

Primrose is often seen sleeping away, but when she isn't asleep, she can be very affectionate towards her maiden. She considers herself to be very graceful and elegant, almost like her first maiden. She loves food and nature as much as she loves to sleep.
