Superstore (S02E13) 'Valentine's Day' @nbctv ****SPOILERS BELOW**** I usually jump all over shows when it comes to hooking up their characters, but that's more like FBI, Police, CIA. any kind of government or federal agency or even like mentor/student situation... I mean, if Cloud 9 has a policy about employees fraternizing, then I'm pretty sure that Quantico shouldn't be a hotbed of sexual activity. In reality tho, you spend a lot time with the person you work with, so relationships naturally occur. I actually work with my partner (of 11 years - February 26) in not one but two separate jobs. We have our bar/restaurant and we are launching a website together dealing with multimedia. We spend pretty much every waking hour together, for the most part, but we are just in sync. I've seen a lot of other couple fall apart, especially ones that form at work, and especially if they are younger. No offense, youngins', but the younger you are the more naive you are and the more horny you are... Jealousy, trust, respect, drawing a line between professional and romantic/personal relationships can be hard... But it CAN be done and it's more likely to happen at a place like Cloud 9, restaurant, customer service, etc. Now I'm no 'shipper' but I think we can all admit that Amy & Jonah have some serious chemistry going on... And for the most part, they work really well together. Remember when Amy's man came in for seasonal help when Jonah suggested it? Yeah, that was like shining a big fat spotlight onto all the cracks in their relationship. Some people need their space, some people can work together just fine, and some people's relationships are based on a relentless assault of daily sexual harassment... Yeah, I'm looking at you Glenn. Your whole life is a lie! 😂 I can't believe that Sandra is still milking this Jeff thing, especially after what happened last when we she was cock blocked on the ladies night out. If that's not going to be a deterrent for her, then she's taking this Jeff thing all the way to the bank. We all know where this going right? I can literally feel the comic gold slowly piling on bit by bit... Eventually we're looking at a possible Jeff/Sandra/Mateo showdown, and there's about a million and one ways that it could go down. Somebody get the popcorn ready.

Editing of a show is important, actually it’s everything… Reality TV literally lives and dies by it. And it’s not the editing of the palindrome titled episode 'Name Not One Man’ (which really isn’t that clever at all) that confused me a bit, it was the editing of the ad for this episode… As well as a strategically written plot summary. Seriously… I went to IMDB to rate the episode and pull it up for reference and the plot reads, “The team faces a struggle when they find out that Kurt Weller might be working as a double agent.”

HUH? I had thought that I watched the wrong episode or possibly skipped one, because that’s not what happened here. Out of pure curiosity, I visited YouTube to watch the trailer for the episode, because now it’s got my mind all twisted. And in the 16 second, sneak peak trailer… They literally have edited it to look like Weller and Jane are pointing guns at each other, which is not what happened at all! Like nowhere NEAR what happened in this episode! That’s some serious RuPaul’s Drag Race type editing right there!

Overall, this was a decent Blindspot episode, though there was no nail biting Weller vs Jane action as shown in the trailer, but we did get a line drawn from Shepard to Weller’s past. We now know what Shepard’s real name is (but I’m going to stick with Shepard because every character having 2 or more different names can get very confusing), and apparently life has to be even harder on Patterson… As Weller ordered her not to take any illegal shortcuts… Which btw, Im pretty sure her methods were not illegal under 'The Patriot Act’. That’s right, let’s just pile on stress on top of stress for Patterson and see how much she can take.

The bad… Ok, we all know it… With every Blindspot episode we get something good and we get several terribly written shortcuts or just plain ridiculous scenarios… We keep watching, because hey… At least it’s not Quantico… Ammirite? It’s like watching Passions Daytime Soap come to life as NBC Crime-Drama Procedural. Apparently we’re still running Reade’s character and all the momentum they built earlier in the season deeper and deeper into the ground. As the girlfriend of Freddy that no one knew existed until the previous episode is now not only fucking Reade but is blowing lines with him as well. Y'all know FBI agents get drug tested right?

More bad? The fact that we barely got any time with Roman as Luke Mitchell is my new favorite character in Blindspot since they ran my boy Reade off the rails and into a big fat briar patch of random tv tropes and all around ridiculousness. Oh and once again, Weller has been kidnapped. Where’s Mario & Luigi when you need them? Apparently he’s available as Nintendo & their new Switch has him running around the streets of NYC. Some mushrooms and a coin and they might have themselves a deal!
