🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
tnt has officially put the void within on pause between chapters 7 and 8. according to their statement on the official twitter account, it's to "make exciting improvements based on your feedback".
all plot activities (void essence collection, battledome fights, volunteer shifts, and story updates) will be on hold, and voidworks specifically will be getting an update.
the void within is slated to return in early 2025, but the team's assured us that there will be plenty of holiday activities in the meantime.

i have absolutely no clue what this means for the future of the plot.
but i'm going to trust that tnt made this decision because they felt that the feedback they received required such a long hiatus to make changes around.

once again minecraft fans be mad for all the wrong reasons
#minecraft#june speaks#dawg if u wanna be mad about the vault block be mad that we had to wait ages just to learn the key is used for what seems to be midgame gea#not that the vault performs an incredibly basic multiplayer feature that shoulda been added ages ago#it only feels like a disappointing feature cuz they took so long to tell us ''oh yea it unlocks player-specific loot containers''#which is a good fucking feature even if it's not particularly interesting! i'm very glad they added it!#this game really does need some multiplayer QoL changes when it comes to the gameplay n this is a great step towards that#it's just stupid to have to wait two months to learn that when by all means we were made to expect it did something more interesting like#idfk. open a secret area or summon a boss. which maybe it could still do! we just don't know yet. update's not fully announced yet!#personally imma save my negative feelings (beyond being annoyed having to wait that long for something that simple) for AFTER the update#at which point if the vault doesn't ever give better loot or if the keys never get any more uses i'll feel a justified mild disappointment#which like ngl. even that's motivated purely by my position as a seasoned player#i'm certain that as-is the vault is amazing for new and learning players in every possible regard. it's a good block n a great feature#but even considering that i feel like it's reasonable to want to be catered to a little bit as a seasoned player yknow?#beyond insanely tedious self-imposed tasks there's not a lot to minecraft's endgame. beat it a hundred times n eventually you get bored#which i think is why a lotta other people get so annoyed with some of these updates too#there's just not a lot bein added for the sake of catering to old players who want new experiences most of the time#anywho that's my bi-monthly minecraft rant outta the way lol

Skill 2 expands her attack range, increases her ATK, gives her more drones and releases her drones to attack enemies randomly within range, her drones have a chance to inflict Panic
Skill 3 increases her ATK and gives her more drones, then releases special drones that actively seek out and hunt enemies, the special drones inflict Panic upon reaching a target and locks onto them; enemies near the drones will have decreased movement speed and take Arts damage every second
Showcased Vulpisfoglia, a 6* Pioneer Vanguard with a strong battlefield presence
First talent makes her attacks deal additional Arts damage for a few seconds after the first time hitting them
Second talent increases the natural DP regeneration by a small amount and lets her recover HP when she hasn't taken damage for a few seconds
Skill 1 is a power strike skill that makes her next attack deal Arts damage and generate some DP, this skill can store charges
Skill 2 lets her immediately deal Arts damage in an area in front of her, Slows the hit enemies and generates some DP. If the enemies were already under the effects of Slow they will be Stunned instead, this skill can store charges
Skill 3 immediately generates DP, expands her attack range, increases her ATK, gives a massive decaying ASPD boost, allows her to attack enemies equal to block count and each attack briefly Stuns the hit enemies. If she defeats any enemy during the skill she will gain Camouflage at the end of the skill that lasts until the next skill activation
Showcased Crownslayer, a 6* Executor Specialist with a unique disruptive kit
First talent sprays a smokescreen on the 8 surrounding tiles around her during skill duration, reducing the Physical and Arts Hit Rate of ground enemies in those tiles
Second talent lets her deal increased Physical damage to enemies that have not landed a hit on her
Skill 1 gives her increased ATK and some amount of Physical and Arts Dodge
Skill 2 stops her from attacking upon deployment, makes her less likely to be attacked and increases the amount of Physical and Arts Hit Rate the smokescreen decreases, when skill ends she will deal a certain % of ATK as Physical damage to all enemies within range
Skill 3 increases her first talent range, gives her Invisibility and sets her Block Count to 0, every few seconds she will appear to attack an enemy within the talent range dealing a certain % of ATK as Physical damage and Stunning them for a few seconds

Showcased the event mechanic, a fireworks machine that will apply effects on a number of tiles around it when activated
While the machine is active, operators on those tiles will take periodic damage and cannot be healed but will not have their HP go below 1, enemies on those tiles will take constant damage
Players can additionally customize which tiles will be affected by the fireworks machine and have it apply additional bonus effects in the event menu
Showcased Contrail, an experimental 4* of a neat new branch 巡空者 (Air Patrol), a Specialist branch that consists of operators that have 2 Block Count and utilizes the new status "Takeoff"
Takeoff: Does not block ground enemies and will not be attacked by ground enemies, can block aerial enemies
S1 makes her takeoff immediately upon deployment, expands her attack range, increases her ATK and gives her some Physical Dodge
S2 makes her takeoff when activated, expands her attack range, increases her ATK, lets her attack 2 targets at once and is able to attack an additional aerial enemy and her attacks inflict Slow to aerial enemies

Queen’s self-titled debut album will be remixed and released this October. This is the first time that a Queen album has been remixed. Retitled Queen I for this release, the front cover’s Queen logo, originally designed by Freddie Mercury, will be updated with the addition of the Roman numeral “I”. The original album was recorded in 1972 and was released in July 1973 on EMI Records in the UK and Elektra in the USA.
Featuring the singles “Keep Yourself Alive” and “Liar”, the album achieved Gold sales in the UK and USA, and has been a fan favourite ever since.
This Collector’s Edition sees the album presented in a whole new light, having been newly mixed from the original multi-track masters, and with the song “Mad The Swine” now reinstated into the album running order in its originally intended place.
The bonus discs that complete the 6CD+1LP set include: De Lane Lea Demos (also newly mixed from the original multi-track masters for the very first time); a CD comprised entirely of previously unreleased Queen I session out-take music and dialogue; a CD of instrumental and backing track versions of the album; a live CD featuring some of the best and most interesting live performances of songs from this album (some of which are previously unreleased); and finally, a disc comprised of Queen I tracks that were recorded for BBC Radio One (including DJ announcements).
Queen I – including “Mad The Swine” – is also presented on 180g black vinyl.
The Collector’s Edition is complemented by the addition of a 108-page 12” hardback book, which features a treasure trove of rare and previously unseen photography, hand-written lyrics, Freddie Mercury’s sketches, and more.

ok so i want to preface by saying that i love deep rock galactic. it's one of my favorite games. but at the same time it bugs me with how audio heavy it's cues are. bug ambushes are onl y announced by rustling, same with mactera ambushes. both leeches and grabbers have audio cues before they grab you, but at least you can expend a perk slot to get a visual indicator for those. stingtails have a bit of glow but its still mostly audio since youre just not gonna be looking at them very often? bet-c's are heralded by a siren, helmets and supply caches beep. just something like the minecraft subtitle system would be such a massive qol change for a game that i honestly think is extremely good. yknow just a small visual indicator that says "bug rustle", "helmet beep", that kind of thing

I've seen another blog mention that the JP server changed the weekly missions from rhythm games to guest room battles. Was there an explanation given for this change?

Explained? No.
Announced? Yes.
There was an in-game announcement (I believe packaged with the 4th year anniversary quality of life updates) which included a note about changing some of the weekly missions from doing Twistunes/Rhythmics to Guest Room battles.
I guess the devs just thought the battles would be less annoying to do than the rhythm games…? It’s definitely faster, especially with the new 3x speed (another QoL update!) to battles.

Sorry if this comes off as rude, but are you not suspicious of the sudden QOL changes that HoYo announced? Especially after a vocal minority voiced their dissatisfaction of the lack skin variety and stereotypes? Too me it just feels like damage control after the backlash
to be for real, i don't think its damage control for skintone backlash, i think its damage control for wuwa release. if it was damage control for racism, they'd focus more on inspirations, respecting the cultures natlan is based on, etc etc, but they dont mention it all. instead, they kept repeating like oooh we're gamers too, we're listening to feedback, blah blah. which is obv bs, bc clowns were rioting about rewards for years at this point and only now hoyo woke up and did smth
like material reality of the situation is that there is unfortunately not a viable competitor who can get their players based on character diversity, so they are not threatened here. but there is now a competitor who gives rewards left and right and "listens" to the playerbase (by giving more rewards)
overall idk what you mean "are you not suspicious". like. companies are not your friends? in any industries? all they do is governed by marketing strategies and profit? like its not a question of "this specific instance is suspicious", you should not be trusting any companies to begin with. of course they only do PR moves to improve PR. like? its a gacha game for crying outloud? they are predatory by definition, and all big companies will fuck over both their players and artists for profit

Since a remaster of the Ace Attorney Investigations games was announced yesterday (very exciting!), it seems a lot of people have been talking about Ace Attorney game pacing, especially with the first AAI game's infamous final case. But there is one thing that probably isn't brought up enough in these discussions, which is:
Ace Attorney games print text at a rate made for Japanese text, but equivalent English sentences can have approximately double the amount of text characters. But the DS versions of the games didn't do anything about this in localization, meaning if you played an Ace Attorney game in English on the DS...
...you were playing the game at around half the speed it was originally supposed to be played at.

Example: The Japanese line on the left is 16 characters, but the English one on the right is 32 -- but they both print at the same speed.
Which means that, yes, all of those most tedious and draggy parts of all of those cases you remember on the DS were twice as long as they were supposed to be! (To put things in perspective, most long boxes in the Japanese version would print faster than you could read them in your head, but most of them in English will take longer to print than it would take to even read the words out loud.)
This was (somewhat) addressed in the later games and ports for the 3DS and after, which gave you the option to force finish the line by tapping again (something that used to only be available for already-read lines). It doesn't do much about the fact you do still have to put up with it to get the most out of lines that are presented with varying speeds, but it at least provides a way to get through parts that are taking way longer than they really should. This is one of the biggest reasons H.C. (who's been playing Ace Attorney games since they were still on the DS) has a very hard time recommending the original DS versions to people unless they have a 100% save file pre-loaded, because she feels it's that damaging to the experience.
So in fact, this might actually be one of the most important QoL changes in the remastered ports!

Our coder JimJim has been hard at work on various new expansion features, including the Mole Market redesign, Archaeology, and many QoL updates. Additionally, there are several new features in the works that we plan on having finalized for launch; seasonal bosses, a vault system, guilds, and real-time events like notifications and live-chat! We’ve updated the Dark Horizons Expansions graphic with these new features:

Archaeology
Lorwolf’s Archaeology system will be composed of a grid of hidden treasure spots that players have to carefully dig to reach. Similar to the Mining system, fossils must first be processed, or “cleaned,” in order to retrieve their hidden rewards. Shown below are four rarities of fossils players will be able to find. Each of these fossils will contain valuable materials, apparel, trinkets, or other special items.
