Transgender young adults and families with transgender youth filed a legal challenge Tuesday against an executive order from the Trump administration that restricts gender-affirming care for transgender people under 19.
“When the Tennessee Legislature passed a law that banned gender-affirming medical care for transgender minors, I knew we had to leave the state so that my daughter could continue receiving the care she needs,” said Kristen Chapman, the mother of 17-year-old plaintiff Willow, in a statement.
The Virginia resident continued: "We moved to Virginia in the summer of 2023, but struggled to find a provider that would accept our Medicaid insurance. As paying for her care out-of-pocket became prohibitively expensive, I tried for months to get an appointment at VCU, and I finally got an appointment for January 29, 2025. The day before our appointment, President Trump signed the executive order at issue in this case. The next day, just a few hours before our appointment, VCU told us they would not be able to provide Willow with care. I thought Virginia would be a safe place for me and my daughter. Instead, I am heartbroken, tired, and scared.”

You know what happy pride to the detransitioners who still identify in some way or other as "not cishet".
Happy pride to he/him lesbians, boygirls, and other people with ""contradictory"" identities.
Happy pride to aroace people, bi people and polyamorous people, along with everyone else the panderers and gatekeepers try to alienate from the community.
Happy pride to all the closeted and questioning people out there.
You're loved, you matter, and you belong, whoever you are.

To give you some hope in this seemingly uncertain year, we just had a historical enby win in Europe!
The European Court of Justice has officially ruled that it is unlawful for a railway company to collect a customer's gender marker. This is because this personal data is unnecessary when purchasing a train ticket and could lead to discrimination on the basis of someone's gender identity.
The impact of this case goes far beyond train travel. From now on, all public and private companies that are bound by the GDPR legislation must follow this ruling and stop collecting this data if it is not strictly necessary. This will have a positive impact on the lives of non-binary people who are often forced to choose between two options (e.g. Mr. or Mrs.) that do not match their identity.
The ruling concerns a case in France in which 64 non-binary people challenged the National Company of the French Railways (SNCF)'s practice of forcing train passengers to choose between 'Mr' or 'Mrs' on their train tickets, with the train company not offering a third option. TGEU and ILGA-Europe supported Association Mousse and its lawyers in the case.

ok i know everyone has done similar versions of this poll already but i just like doing polls with my own options lol so humor me. sorry there is not room for an other button!! if you have a different fav not listed just pick one of these that's your second fav and add your fav in the tags/comments 💖
also to be clear i don't mean to highlight or prioritize any specific versions of the initialism i just have limited options in polls lol and i have all the other things i want to have available as well. there are so many possible versions and iterations i simply have to limit it. i am super curious what your favorite or what your preference is! do you use the +? do you add Q or spell it out? which letters specifically do you use? do you use one T or two? what does A stand for for you? what does Q stand for? what is the plus for? do you use a U? H? 2? what order do you put the letters?
is your fave something else? have you come up with a fun or unique or uncommon term or phrase? what do you like to use?
share in the comments n tags!

happy nonbinary week!
for some people nonbinary is a specific identity label, for some it’s an umbrella term, for some it’s both.
some nonbinary folx are trans and some aren’t.
and just like with all gender and sexuality minorities, the only one who gets a say in who someone IS is the person themself.
i’m genderqueer & genderfluid, both terms i learned in the 90s (a loooong time before i ever heard the word nonbinary, either as its own identity or as an umbrella term)
sending love & support out to all my nonbinary siblings and niblings who’d welcome it.

I hope everyone who wants to take freedom from us, dies a prolonged death filled with agony every step of the way.
Please stay safe sisters, brothers, others and all.
I love you, even if we've never met and possibly will never meet, I love you. Keep comforts, safety, joy, and love close to you.
I love you.

Two transgender girls who attend high school in New Hampshire challenged the Trump administration’s recent executive order banning transgender girls and women from participating in girls’ sports, according to a court filing.
The teens, Parker Tirrell, 16, and Iris Turmelle, 15, previously sued New Hampshire education officials over a state law prohibiting them from competing on girls’ sports teams at their public high schools. On Wednesday, their attorneys from GLAD Law and the ACLU of New Hampshire filed an amended complaint asking the court to expand the case nationally to challenge Trump’s executive order.
Chris Erchull, senior staff attorney at GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders, one of the plaintiffs’ representatives, said the executive order and others “amount to a coordinated campaign to prevent transgender people from functioning in society.”
“School sports are an important part of education — something no child should be denied simply because of who they are,” Erchull said in a news release. “Our clients Parker and Iris simply want to go to school, learn, and play on teams with their peers.”

Page 9 - Once my fellow writer friend and beta reader suggested I change the panels placement of this page (I had 4 panels- 2 on top, 2 on bottom), moving the first panel to Page 8, I now had too much white space. Even before coloring, I wondered what to fill in the background for Yanina and Dunlop. Also, I struggle with backgrounds, crowds, and vehicles, so imagine my delight that FireAlpaca, the software I use for coloring and putting in special effects helped me with the high windows, ceiling lights, tall book cases, and the crowds of teachers and educators!
Tumblr media
Page 10 - I have seen when folks' hair frizzes out in surprise but I've seen fewer examples when it comes to Black hair. Thank goodness comics are becoming more inclusive!
Tumblr media
Page 11 - Has anybody else had a slip of the tongue when you run into a former authority figure, and you feel so familiar with that person, you end up saying something out of turn? Oh. Just me? O-Ok.
Tumblr media
Page 12 - Those facial and word balloon blushies and surrounding hearts Are RIDICULOUS. I also changed Yanina's inner monologue and Dunlop asking for consent before he hugs her and gives her a peck on the cheek. I felt that was important. As someone who comes from a touchy-feely culture, but who is also neuroatypical, I felt it was important to understand that while I enjoy hugs and kisses on the cheek from loved ones and peers, I know not everyone does, both neurotypical and neuroatypical, ESPECIALLY neuroatypical/neurodivergent people do not enjoy touching, even from loved ones. Brazilia knows her bounderies and Dunlop asks for consent.
Tumblr media
Page 13 END - Hope you enjoyed this flashback episode for how Yanina's and Dunlop's reunion! We will now return to our regularly scheduled program. Happy New Comic Book Wednesday!

So. My current everyday bag (not literally every day, I guess, but the bag I grab when I go out) is my Starbag. (Mine is v.1, white and lilac, but those are no longer sold.) It’s incredibly Pride-themed; nearly everything in the bag is a Pride item (mostly pins), and the few things that aren’t technically have colors/vibes that make them pass for it anyway. I’ve gotten compliments on it on… I think four separate occasions, while out. At least some explicitly mentioned the pins.
When I say “mentioned the pins,” I mean “said they look nice.” Not once has anyone made mention of the rainbow colors and Pride flags. It has seemed kinda weird to me that nobody mentions it. Only today did it occur to me… maybe that’s not as strange as I thought?
“So, I guess you’re queer, then?” is maybe not something you casually drop on a stranger, even if you’re willing to throw her a more general compliment.
And so my cunning plan to entice other queers to make the first move has failed me.
