Baguio Excursion pt 2

Today is Monday and today we have to work haha. Kwento time muna. Lahat kami except Sir Lew, bumiyahe na from QC to Baguio kahapon while si Sir Lew, magisa sa van papunta. Honestly sa utak ko, natatakot ako baka magtampo si Sir kasi wala man lang sasabay sa kanya. But yea, it reminds me once again na kupal yet professional pa rin naman si sir hahaha. 5:30 wake up time ko then prep na rin. Then, around 7AM dumating na sir. Ang funny kasi sinundo sya ni Ate Janel & Jak sa labas sabay sabi, "Sir sa loob na po tayo magbreakfast." Pagpasok, edi nag-elevator pa-basement (kasi yung residence area ay sa basement, L1 to L4/5 ?). Yung kwento ni sir nagulat sya kasi sa kwarto sya dinala HAHAHAHAHHA akala niya susunduin lang kami ni ate janine.. nashookt sya kasi tinuro sya papunta dun sa table na may mcdo delivery HAHAHA. Akala nya raw may breakfast buffet dahil nga naman kasi hotel diba. Haysss haha.

Ang benta rin sa akin nung nakasakay na lahat kami ng van para pumuntang City Hall (for opening ceremony nung awarding ng EV).. biglang nagtanong yung driver, nonverbatim "Balik na po tayo ng QC?" Biglang sagot si sir lew, "Oo kuya nakapag-cr na ako" GRABE YUNG TAWA KO HUHUHUHU HAHAHA. Sinundo lang talaga kami ni sir HAHAHAHA. Dami kasing convo kahapon na bumaba na ng Baguio yung isa sa amin, 4 hours byahe lang naman, para may kasabay lang si sir HAHAHA.

Moving on, eto na po flag ceremony ng mga govt employees ng City Government of Baguio. Prayer, national anthem, cordillera region anthem (?), baguio hymn, announcements re:tax collection, awarding of some vehicles, etc, and nagspeech rin si Mayor. Gusto raw nya nakatanggal ang mask kapag kumakanta ng Baguio Hymn, 10-20 years na raw nakatira mga tao dun di pa rin alam yung lyrics. Tapos, worth mentioning rin na dapat raw kasuhan yung mga corrupt/retired na nangunguha ng pera re: rental sa public market (?) something like that. Dapat raw malinis ang mga employees at di naiinvolve sa mga corrupt practices na yun.

After that speech, lumapit sa side namin si sir lew. Sabay bulong, "Nakatingin si Mayor sa akin nung nagspeech sya sa harap" first response ko, "dahil sa corruption?" KASI YUN TALAGA YUNG MAIN TAKEAWAY KO SA SPEECH NYA. Mygad lahat sila nagtawanan AHHAHA hanggang paguwi paulit ulit nabbring up yung line na yun haha. Sorry sir huhu

i totally agree, if you're taking a long stop in sokor it would be better to be vaccinated. cases there have been rising recently and travelling in itself is already risky enough. I'll look for articles on provinces that have been giving out pfizer and get back to you!!

gah regarding MRIAD -- how bad is the whole Lu Yao/Bai Youning becoming a couple? how much of screentime/storytime do they take up? is it in the slightest believable or well written? because I adore the show and would like to keep watching but I've barely been able to stand Bai Youning from the start...

heya! ehhhh that’s a tough question. 

frankly, i don’t dislike her, but when the show does the eye thingy between its two main male leads THAT well? everything else pales in comparison. 

frankly, we’ve seen hints of it when LY is worried/concerned for YN when she’s crying, or during the house fire etc. so it’s not like the show blindsided us, and things don’t go TERRIBLY fast, there’s a tad bit of build up but the show was kind of dealing with all the cases, then triad/govt politics, the British men and their conspiracy, so of course it’s not entirely a romance, and things accelerate once LY’s sister turns up and LY sees the way YN tries to stand up for him

so it’s a little annoying because LY and YN do joke in eps 27? or smth that they can get married to get his sister off his back, and they’re like ‘oh i’ll marry you if you don’t like me’ and then in the last ep, qcs actually asks him jokingly ‘are you sure you’re marrying YN for real and not for as a ploy?’

and then in ep 36, after everything happens, LY is ready to devote his life to YN, he’s like ‘you sit here, tell me what u wanna eat and i’ll cook for you, and i’ll even mop the floor, and if we have kids in the future, i’ll take care of them, you do whatever you want’, and okay, we’ve seen two leads fall in love in so many other shows for reasons and time period lesser than LY/YN, so okay let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and close an eye on the relationship - once again, i don’t actually really have a problem with the relationship on its own

i mean, YN obviously likes him a lot, but imo LY and QCS had way more chemistry throughout the show, even at the altar, so the LY/YN relationship definitely pales in comparison to that. not to say it’s a bad portrayal or anything, but QCS really sells the bromance/brotherhood thing, all the way up till the last scene in ep 36. 

his every like averted look, his every pained smile etc.? in fact i’m fricking confused - were the writers trying to rebel by doing QCS - pining and unrequited love for LY while LY rides off into the sunset on a cruise with YN? he’s happy at the start when he gets the call, but then at the altar, bidding them farewell at the port… there are so many lingering sad looks, and when LY turns back around to look at him, QCS looks a tad bit hopeful? like? what? of course it could be due to the fact that LY might not be coming back anytime soon considering what the British guy told him (i.e. to lay low and stay away from Shanghai for a while), but if they were trying to sell us the hetero relationship + then leaving that last scene there? like, QCS sees YN and LY holding hands and LOOKS AWAY even i couldn’t make that fucking shit up

you only have to see the way QCS smiles at LY always up until the last episode to know just how much he likes/loves LY, as a brother or whatever!!! i wish they’d left it at that, the brotherhood part ya know? that makes so much more sense to me - they left such intensity with QCS’s character and emotions for LY and then they… shove YN in between. 

so what the hell was the relationship for?!! i don’t get it, and it pales in comparison to the bromance, so why have it there or play up the bromance so much if you’re going to dump YN/LY there towards the last third of the show?

they should have gone big instead - have QCS happy for the couple and do away with all the lingering looks and bromance in the last ep, that would have been so much more convincing, and i would have been disappointed overall but it’d still be acceptable

Who do you agree with re: parliamentary sitting frequency and numbers, Trudeau or Scheer? I get Trudeau’s worries, but if people can socially distance in grocery stories and now, in QC, garden centres, surely 30-40 people could sit in a parliamentary setting space designed for over 300. And more than a day a week. I think Trudeau just prefers to run things himself ya know? Doesn’t seem very “minority govt” these days.

I think the solution is fine.

Spending the majority of time with a virtual parliament, but allowing 1 day a week to socially distance in person with a reduced number of MP’s seems like a good compromise.
