Jasper National Park, AB (No. 21)
The Rocky Mountain elk (Cervus canadensis nelsoni) is a subspecies of elk found in the Rocky Mountains and adjacent ranges of Western North America.
The winter ranges are most common in open forests and floodplain marshes in the lower elevations. In the summer it migrates to the subalpine forests and alpine basins. Elk have a diverse habitat range that they can reside in but are most often found in forest and forest edge habitat and in mountain regions they often stay in higher elevations during warmer months and migrate down lower in the winter. They may even come down the mountain and leave the forest into some grassland for part of the day but head back into the timber in the evening.
Climate change/warming can keep elk in their higher elevation habitats for longer into the winter than normal. Climate changes such as warming have in some cases even increased the seasonal range of elk in the winter. For example, in Yellowstone the climate warming has kept the snow at a lower level than in the past and has given the elk the ability to populate higher ranges than before. The lack of snow in Yellowstone has also given the elk an advantage over the wolves in their predator prey relationship because wolves rely on deep snow to hunt elk in winter ranges of Yellowstone. The total wild population is about one million individuals.
Their populated Canadian ranges occur in Alberta's Jasper and Banff National Parks as well as British Columbia's Kootenay and Yoho National Parks.

Never Fall, Never Rise
An AU where XL didn't ascend...but that doesn't mean everything is okay
Cults spring up convinced he's a god even though he isn't, leaving the awkward situation where his father can either anger the Heavens or the rapidly growing population of people who worship his son...(spoiler: he chooses the people)
XL ends up being constantly in danger of people trying to "prove" his divinity.
Things this story includes:
Characters all living at the same time for the fun of it (also I wanted SQX and the Xianle Trio interactions) and worldbuilding to fit
HC growing up and not dying (also finding a way to circumvent his fate and becoming immortal adjacent) (obviously he joins the baby cults for a bit before leaving)
Examinations of characters' families whether mentioned or not (including HX and FX and to a degree HC's as well)
Rivals to lovers Fengqing
XL & QYZ friendship (and salty AF QR)
HC getting what he deserves~ (he gotta work for it though)
Hualian together (like around each other, not romantically) pretty much since the Land of the Tender incident
HC living a double life since he's about 16 lol (one as Wu Ming, the loyal bodyguard and brat and the other as Lord Hua, the self made city master who everyone is afraid of)
HC using magic as a human (mostly glamours for himself and E-ming but occasionally making magical items like his dice as well)
JL is FX's legal concubine (for her own protection, he didn't want to take one) and Cuocuo gets to live and grow
No one dying unnecessarily (that doesn't mean no one suffers...)
And much more!!
However: I should warn you that this is an Omegaverse au (it wasn't supposed to be but it ended up making the most sense for ONE THING and the worldbuilding got away from me.)
#tgcf#tgcf au#Never Fall Never Rise#hualian#fengqing#quanyin#there is some cool things#like HC's glamour as Hua Chengzhu convincing people he's an omega#since he doesn't like Alphas even though he is one#i play with the alpha beta omega hierarchy a bit#and alphas are NOT the top of the pyramid#I've actually have so many family related headcanons for the various characters#like FX having four brothers including a twin#I also lean into hc having hmong heritage#oh#most of my stuff comes from the unrevised version#so PX and Banyue are childhood friends and such#idk if that will matter in this story#but if they pop up they will know each other

- Welcome, archaeological Japanists, to the second chapter of prehistoric Japan and continue touring its mythological and magical places. Once that has been said, put in commands and let's begin. - To continue our journey, better late than never but slowly and with good handwriting. We move to Kuromatayama, a pyramid-shaped mountain, located on the Nakadori Plateau in the Towada Oyu district of the city of Kazuno, Akita Prefecture. - In the 1992s, an academic survey was conducted and as a result, although this mountain is currently covered with earth, it was found to be an artificial structure of about 7 to 10 levels reaching from the base to the top. Additionally, a cavity was found 10 meters below the summit, and it is very likely that someone is buried there. - I hope you liked it and see you in future posts my lovers of the Japanese world, have a good week.

Those last three photos don’t look that interesting but wait, there’s a story. (Insert groans from students in my history class here.)
All around the pyramids on the Giza plateau are these marks on the limestone bedrock: divots, channels, and areas that look like maybe they were used to support beams or drain water.
Water, of course, is a natural level. And the pyramid construction site would need to be leveled for construction; eyeballing it doesn’t quite work.
In other words, it’s quite possible that the answer to the question that is supposedly BAFFLING ARCHAEOLOGISTS (how the pyramids were built) has been there all along. But they’ve never been mapped.
The cynic in me explains this because there’s no way it’ll yield treasure so no one wants to fund that research. Just knowledge for its own sake, and why get that when Ancient Aliens sells so much ad time?

Great Ziggurat at Ur | Ancient Architecture
One of the first monumental temples built in antiquity still rises majestically from the desert floor in southern Iraq. This remarkable temple tower is the best-preserved example of what was once a plentiful and magnificent form of ancient architecture: the ziggurat. This was a staged temple tower, the type of structure most characteristic of worship in Mesopotamia. Indeed, Mesopotamia was one of…

Jasper National Park, AB (No. 1)
Jasper National Park, in Alberta, Canada, is the largest national park within Alberta's Rocky Mountains, spanning 11,000 km2 (4,200 sq mi). It was established as Jasper Forest Park in 1907, renamed as a national park in 1930, and declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1984. Its location is north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park contains the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains.
The territory encompassed by what is now Jasper National Park has been inhabited since time immemorial by Nakoda, Cree, Secwépemc, and Dane-zaa peoples. Plainview projectile points have been found at the head of Jasper Lake, dating back to between 8000 and 7000 BCE. In the centuries between then and the establishment of the park, First Nations land use has fluctuated according to climatic variations over the long term, and according to cyclical patterns of ungulate population numbers, particularly elk, moose, mule deer, and occasionally caribou. Starting in the 1790s, Haudenosaunee and Nipissing hunters and trappers moved in large numbers to the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains, around the headwaters of the Athabasca and Smoky Rivers in particular, most of them employed by the North West Company. By the time David Thompson crossed the Athabasca Pass in 1810, led by a Haudenosaunee guide named Thomas, there were hundreds of Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe people living in the region. When Mary Schäffer Warren became the first settler to visit Maligne Lake—known by the Nakoda as Chaba Imne—in 1908, she did so by following a map given to her by Samson Beaver, a Nakoda guide and hunter.

The Grand Egyptian Museum: Ancient Meets Modern
In the shadow of the Great Pyramids, the Museum blends ancient heritage with cutting-edge design, offering a glimpse of Egypt’s rich history. (al-Matḥaf al-Maṣriyy al-Kabīr)—with its elegant Egyptian edifice offers an ode to the luxury of the country’s history and heritage. Standing as a modern marvel—just minutes off the gargantuan Giza Plateau—in the seductive shadow of the Great Pyramids, it is not just any other museum but an architectural masterpiece: a gateway to the grandeur of ancient Egypt that has drawn droves to its sandy shores. For centuries, poets have offered paeans to the pharaohs of Egypt, but none of them can compare to the Grand Egyptian Museum’s architectural poetry. With a sophisticated, state-of-the-art technology twist, the museum accentuates the allure of Egyptian antiquity Read for more articles.

Fascination with History
History has always been a subject that captivates me. From the monumental battles of World War II to the storming of the Bastille during the French Revolution, and even further back to the construction of the awe-inspiring Great Pyramids of Giza, every era holds a story that echoes through time.
My fascination with World War II stems from how it shaped the modern world. The alliances, the struggles, and the courage of people during those dark years highlight both the best and worst of humanity. I find myself drawn to the incredible strategic decisions that changed the course of history, the resilience of nations, and the tales of everyday heroism. The war wasn’t just about battles; it was about survival, and it reshaped international politics in a way we still see today.
But my interest doesn’t stop there. The French Revolution, for example, offers a completely different perspective. It was a time of upheaval, where the people of France took destiny into their own hands. The storming of the Bastille, the rise and fall of Robespierre, and the eventual reign of Napoleon—all of these moments are key to understanding how revolutionary ideals spread across the world. It’s a period of immense social change, a rebellion against monarchy and class oppression, and it continues to inspire movements for freedom and equality even today.
Going further back in time, the Great Pyramids of Giza stand as a testament to human ingenuity. These ancient wonders have fascinated me since childhood—not only because of their sheer scale but also because of the mysteries that still surround them. How did the Egyptians construct such colossal structures with the limited technology of their time? What do they tell us about the beliefs, values, and power structures of ancient Egypt? The pyramids symbolise the enduring legacy of a civilisation that, despite thousands of years, still sparks our curiosity.
What ties all these historical events together for me is the idea of legacy. Whether it’s a global conflict, a social revolution, or a grand architectural feat, each one left an indelible mark on the world. Understanding history isn’t just about memorising dates and events; it’s about piecing together the stories of those who came before us and learning from their successes and mistakes. History teaches us that human nature, while often unpredictable, has always been capable of great ambition, resilience, and transformation.
From the trenches of World War II to the halls of Versailles to the desert sands of Egypt, history is a vast and fascinating journey one that I will always be eager to explore.
