Purple’s POV:

“This is your first time?” I ask, tying my shoelaces together.

“Yeah, it is. You’ll help me if I fall, right?” yellow responds with a nervous look on her face. I let out a small chuckle and nod.

I stand up from the snowy ground below me and face the large frozen lake. Yellow tries to stand up, but she stumbles. I hold onto her to keep her from falling.

“I’ve never been on ice skates before.. You sure I’ll be alright?”

“Yes! Now come on!”

I pull her out and onto the ice. She squeals and holds a death grip on me. I pull us out near the middle of the lake, laughing as yellow starts to lose her balance.

“Bend your knees, it helps you stand.”

Yellow does as I say, and her struggling dies down, with a slight wobble here and there.

“Okay, now to move, you have to push with your legs. Like this.”

I gently release yellow from my grip and move away. A look of panic quickly forms on her face.

“H-Hey! Wait!”

“Stay calm and you’ll be fine. Probably. Just watch!”

I show yellow step by step on how to start moving. I push my left foot down into the ice and push forward before doing the same with my other foot.

I circle around her and stop at her side.

“Now you try, I’ll be right here to help.”

I hear yellow sigh before trying to copy my moves. I see her try to push, but she only loses balance. I grab her arm before she could fall.

“Y’know what? How about we get off the ice, eh?” yellow asks in a shaky voice.

“You’re the one who begged me to give you ice skating lessons. We’re doing this.”

I move in front of her and hold on to both of her hands.

“Try again.”

Yellow tries to push forward again, this time succeeding, but only by a little. I immediately congratulate her. A small smile quickly forms on her face as she continues to try to push.

“Okay now you’re just trying to walk.”

“I’m not trying to! I try to push, but when I do I can’t get my other foot far enough quickly.”

“It’s okay, just keep tryin-”

Suddenly, yellow looses complete balance. Her weight makes me loose balance. Before I know it, we’re both on the floor clinging onto each other like our lives depend on it.

Then, we start laughing. I stand up and pull yellow with me.

“Let’s try this again.”
