Alfa Romeo Scarabeo II, 1973. The first Scarabeo was an experimental mid-engined sports car built by OSI for Alfa Romeo but the project was abandoned when OSI went out of business is 1967. The Scarabeo II was engineered by Giuseppe Busso using the bodywork of the Ercole Spada-designed Junior Z but with a mid-mounted DOHC 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine. Alfa Romeo's management were not interested in pursuing the mid-engined sports car and the project died. The project is also called the Junior Z 2000 Periscopio. It's now kept at the the Alfa Romeo Museum,

1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II Prototype

One of a kind 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II Prototype. Only one ever made. Boss 429 powered. Sister car of the Ford King Cobra that was designed to compete with the Plymouth Superbird and Dodge Daytona. Currently on display at Savoy Automobile Museum as part of the Big Blocks exhibit.

Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II prototype, 1970. Powered by the Boss 429 V8, the Cyclone Spoiler II was to take part in the NASCAR series and was closely related to Ford King Cobra. However Ford withdrew from racing after 1969 and NASCAR effectively banned the "aero cars" so despite their racing success in 1969 the Cyclone Spoiler II program was cancelled
