Could you possibly tell us more about patty and thespius’ other new followers? I find it so perfect that patty is his first follower, it honestly warms my heart sm. Does curtain call also start getting new followers, or are they just as obscure as they were before? Do their followers overlap in any ways (wether unknowing or knowingly to said follow. I can’t help but wonder that since they are sort of tied to a shared domain now that if a follower starts to follow one of them that it could start to bleed over into a shared following of the two considering how well what they are gods of blend together and support each other) ? I’m curious of the followers of this world, they honestly intrigue me. Such a diverse populous with so many stories and world building to be told :0 (I love your Au so much! It’s so fascinating!!!! I’m eating it right up and it’s divine :>)

Of course!! I love Patty so much and I really wanted to give her importance.

Because Curtains and Thespius are in the same little area where they're able to 'receive' guests, generally there's a lot of Overlap. Patty is first and foremost Thespius' follower because she was his friend, but she worships Curtain Call too.

Gaining followers is a slow process, at first aided only by Patty's word of mouth, chatting about it to customers and coworkers (Grujaja actually becomes their second follower soon after, because they work nights together.)

Their following only really blooms with the help of the Godpoke, or 'Midnight', who is a part of Mitternacht's cult.

Because Patty doesn't quite have a congregation of people to hang out with, they keep her company and often invite her to gatherings with their own people.

She doesn't visit the stage every night like Thespius did, but she does go frequently. To stop a repeat occurrence, She wears a costume, much like Mitternacht's cult does when they visit her. Think Venice Carnival. (I sketched a concept or two of this, but I wasn't satisfied.)

When Patty dies, she will have the honor of being a permanent member of the audience....the first in the empty theatre.

im at the point of fixation with this au where i can no longer deny my need to draw fanart for it. agghhh! its so so good!

couldn't decide if i liked having arms or not in the design so i kept them in two of my drawings. bauhauzzo is the pillars :] these are just the designs my brain came up with for them while i was reading through Presque Vu and I had to get them out of my head.

huzzle is inspired by a naga in my design and also an amphiptere because i thought it would be cool :]

Something I've been playing with while being busy, and also sick ❤️

Introducing you to the Proscenium Phantasm Au; art and explanations under the cut:

In this universe, the Gods are obscure and Eldritch; with Mitternacht serving as the Creator and Progenitor God of them all. Click Clack (Known as Curtain Call in this au) is the forgotten God of Storytelling. They're so obscure in fact, that they does not have a proper form to be observed by mortals.

Thespius is a downtrodden writer whose passions are being crushed by his day to day life. His scripts are rejected over and over again and he works a dead-end job at the Bizzymart. One night, after finding his most recent script has once again been rejected, he decides to go to an old book shop, where he finds an unlabeled book full of gibberish, aside from a ritual that is meant to summon the help of the Storytelling God.

He completed the ritual at home, and when he goes to sleep wakes up on a dark stage with velvet curtains and rows of empty seats.

This entire place is Curtain Call; the audience, the script and the actors. Here they meet, and Curtains proposes a deal; they'll keep Thespius' passion from ever waning, and in exchange he will dream for them every night and act out their roles. Thespius agrees, only to immediately regret it, as Curtains puts him in the shoes of the most terrifying, painful roles. He threatens to walk out, and the God frantically agrees to tone it down.

Over time, Thespius introduces passion, love, and most importantly humanity into the scripts. He begins to enjoy their meetings, and Curtains is given back a name and a small form to interact with him (a shadow puppet that moves around via spotlight.)

Of course, however, if Thespius is rubbing off on Curtain Call, then the opposite is true as well.

At first it's just faint whisps of emotions from inanimate objects; the love people feel for the things they interact with and use every day ..but then it turns into connections between people...a tug towards his coworker Patty and that stranger that visits during her night shifts, his manager 's pride in his employees...

Headaches and nosebleeds. A sharp edge that begins to develop in a radius around him.

Thespius begins daydreaming during work about Curtain Call and their stage...and promptly drops like a puppet without its strings.

Sent home to recover for a few weeks, Thespius has nothing else to do but to visit Curtain Call. Hence where the fic begins : )

Anyways, if people like this I'll answer questions and post more of my concept art.

Not me being super excited to share more things about my silly au;

A detail that I neglected to mention (but was implied) is that Curtains actually made the form Thespius inhabits as a God; as he was ascending, they were frantically constructing it as fast as they could. His body is constructed from the boards of the stage, ripped up quickly to use as materials.

They were straight up panicking, though they tried not to show it to Thespius so that he wouldn't be afraid. After he lost consciousness, they had to coax his 'being' back into the shell they made...hence the dream of the giant.

Some other concepts for my Proscenium Phantasm Au!! Huzzle and Bauhauzzo aren't finished yet, but here are Mitternacht and Cobigail!

Mitternacht is the Progenitor God. She has a faithful cult that lives out in the desert,,,I wonder who could be a part of that....

As for Cobigail, the entrance to her domain is in a fixed location; a set of tunnel entrances smack on the edge of a terrified small town. Anybody that goes in will find themselves crawling in tight spaces with roots overhead and scuttling all around them,,, featuring my OC, Milly.

Cobigail isn't forgotten, persay, but as the God of Community she is certainly lonely. If she likes you enough, you may just find your sight dimming into blindness, forever trapped in her maze of tunnels.

Trying to get the rest of this Proscenium Phantasm Au stuff posted without seeming too overeager lol;

But here's some Thespius Greens! (Post ascension under the cut. Tw for eyes, body horror, you know the drill)

So the thing about Thespius is that, as a God in this au, he's not solely ruling over the domain of "Love."

Thespius is the Heart and Soul; which encapsulates Love, but also Passion, Emotion and Autonomy. There are many, MANY facets to this, as Love is timeless, and thus technically Thespius has always BEEN this embodiment.

The problem, then, is that there's so much to filter through that he nearly gets swept away.

Curtain Call, realizing that they can't handle this alone, Goes to Mitternacht, who is very VERY concerned about why there is now an additional God in the pantheon. She takes the initiative to anchor Thespius to Curtain; giving Thes the structure to hold against his domain. For a while, Curtain Call acts as Thespius' training wheels so to speak (the strings that help hold him up.)

This ends up working out much better than expected, since their two domains mesh very well. They become a solid pair as Thespius grows into his role, much in the same way Bau and Huzzle Mug balance each other out.

Been really enthralled reading what you’ve already shared about it, its so good and just I love it sm! I feeds a part of my brain I didn’t know needed feeding, no exaggeration it is so good (Also I love how godpokes name is midnight! I adore that detail, such a good name!!!)

I sure can!

- "Midnight" was born a mortal human baby; where they came from exactly I haven't decided, but they were brought to Mitternacht to save their life.

- Cobigail is the youngest god, only around a handful of centuries old (Maybe around 1000 and a half?). She can be observed and touched by humans with no Ill effects.

- Bau and Huzzle are most easily encountered in Scotland, though if you walk far enough into the fog with intent, you can find them anywhere.

- Post-Lovestory arc, King and "Inspekta" have arcs of their own. I haven't designed either of them yet, but they do have their own separate things going on, all as a result of Thespius' sudden ascension.

can you tell more about curtain and thespius' domains and how they mesh well together? im honestly extremely curious about this and how they blend together. it sounds so cool and would love to hear more about the concept

First and foremost; Thank you very much! It was a spur of the moment thought that snowballed into a full AU, much like LAA was. I'm always happy to talk about Proscenium to the uninitiated.

So, as I brushed over briefly; Thespius has technically always been the God of his Domain; Love is Timeless after all, and without it there would be no passion in the world, no soul or emotions. With this logic in mind, Thespius was a God even before he was born, and before he ever met Curtain Call.

This plays into how Stories are made; you can't have a story without a human touch, without a drive that compels you to create. Alone, Curtain Call's works are ...well, they're tragic. Matter of fact. There's an ATTEMPT at human emotion there, but they couldn't comprehend it before Thespius came along. Thespius infuses warmth and Love and perspective into Curtain Call's works... And TECHNICALLY this has influenced the way we live our lives and write stories for all of human history.

Thespius Green Was Always Meant To Be What He Became. He'd always been there, he just hadn't been born yet.

Same asker as before but what happens to mortal thespius once he ascends? Does he still exist? Did he ever exist? I know that after he ascends he has sort of always existed as a god born into that role but what does that exactly mean for the mortal life that he did life? Oh cobs this Au is so cool! So much food for thought

Thespius' mortal body is left behind once he ascends. It's....a mess, to be frank. Some more details about that under the cut! (Body horror).

As for his roles as both a God and a Mortal, think of it as some sort of time loop. Thespius' awareness and consciousness of his domain spreads across all of time as a God, therefore he is always present. Mortal Thespius is born, meets Curtain Call, and ascends. Thespius' domain (as a God) overlaps with these events, thus they're both present at the same time.

If you've ever seen the scene in Interstellar where the main character is able to interact with his past self through small gestures, then that's what I'm going for. In fact, in Hypnagogia Thespius does EXACTLY that, setting his past self into meeting Curtain Call by providing his book of notes that he ends up writing after each nightly performance.

A wellness check is performed after Thespius is sent home for a "seizure" at work. Upon arrival, the room is drenched in sprayed ink, almost arterial, surrounding Thespius' corpse on his bed.

Nobody can explain really how he died; his chest is ripped open from the inside, half of his face shattered and dripping with ink and the other frozen in a state of peaceful bliss. His body is taken away, but his apartment it left as it is, too far gone to be salvaged. It's boarded up and left there.

This becomes a spot where reality is very thin. Patty (Thespius' first follower), takes advantage of this after he meets her in her dreams, and often meditates there.

I’ve been wondering about this for a while now but hadn’t had the time to send an ask but like what happens to thespius’ body when he goes into curtain calls domain? Is he mentally projected there? Is he physically there? Why does he faint when he thinks about curtain calls domain to hard? love your Au sm! I just wanna tumble thoughts of it around in my head it’s so good!

A good question!

1). Thespius visits Curtain Call when he sleeps; so his body in the "real world" is sleeping as it normally would; it's his dreams that have been replaced by visits to the God. Technically, it's his consciousness that is only there.

2). By the time he's fainting in public spaces, he's pretty far gone. His mind is struggling to handle the weight of information he's exposed to by acting ( and dying) for Curtain Call. The barriers between Thespius' consciousness and the Stage grow thin.

When he starts daydreaming about Curtains' domain, he basically tricks his mind into thinking he's gone to bed, so his body drops like a rock because he's not supposed to be piloting it when he's dreaming.

....like a puppet with cut strings.
