Kinktober 2023 / Monsterfucker Plans (Updated!)
Tumblr media
Sea Serpent!Obanai x AFAB Mermaid!Reader – October 3rd @ 6pm PST
Your father had always warned you of the dangers of the deep ocean, demanding that you stay within the safe borders of the underwater kingdom. However, one day, you become curious and secretly travel into waters untraversed by any merperson still alive today – wishing to know what lies beyond the safe confines of your home, not realizing that the countless warnings from your father had been given to you for very good reason.
Incubus!Gojo x AFAB!Reader – October 7th @ 6pm PST
It’s been months since your husband had touched you in the way that you wished, and you’ve started to grow tired of the way he constantly flirts with other women. Completely fed up with both him and the never-ending dry spell you’ve been going through, you retire to the guest room’s bed to fall asleep without your husband, unaware of a shadow that’s been lurking in your home each night, waiting for the right moment to prey on his new victim.
Angel!Mitsuri x AFAB Succubus!Reader – October 10th @ 6pm PST
Mitsuri had always done what she was told to do, singing hymns and praying to her god every single day – ensuring that she fulfilled her duty of spreading the Good News to others far and wide. She never once thought about breaking the rules – much less her vow to chastity, until she found what initially appeared to be a human in a darkened alleyway in need of help, unknowingly falling into a trap that would corrupt her from holiness for the rest of eternity.
Human!Giyuu x AFAB Naiad!Reader – October 14th @ 6pm PST
As a water nymph, you never saw the world from beyond the spring you were born from, having only seen humans come to your spring bearing gifts and performing rituals for the sake of worship. However, one day, a beautiful human male stumbled his way into the domain of your sacred spring, and without offering nor sacrifice to give you, you thought of another way in which he could pay you worship.
Witch!Shinobu x AFAB!Reader – October 17th @ 6pm PST
Your girlfriend usually spends all day cooped up in her cabin brewing potions and studying spells, and, of course, placing the occasional hex on someone she doesn’t particularly like. One day, when you decide to visit her place deep in the woods, she has come up with a rather…interesting potion recipe, and wishes for both of you to try it out together.
True Form!Sukuna x AFAB Sorcerer!Reader – October 21st @ 6pm PST
Having been one of the sorcerers of the Heian Era to attempt to eradicate the King of Curses from the face of the earth, you were the least bit surprised to find yourself awaiting death within Sukuna’s domain. What you didn’t expect was that the Disgraced One had other plans awaiting you, to which you selfishly conceded if it meant you were allowed to live yet another day.
Surtr!Kyojuro x AFAB Worshipper!Reader – October 24th @ 6pm PST
The legends stated that the mighty fire giant would one day bring about the beginnings of Ragnarök and engulf the world in flames. You had been told of these prophecies since childhood and were a firm believer in appeasing the proclaimed Ruler of Fire through worship and sacrifice – just as you had been taught by the village elders since you were a mere child. What you didn’t expect, however, was for the village to turn their back on you and suggest that a human sacrifice would be needed to appease the giant once and for all.
Trickster!Sanemi x AFAB Tricked Princess!Reader – October 28th @ 6pm PST
As the Princess of your kingdom, you have been a voice of authority for all of your royal subjects. In fact, you had grown quite accustomed to your way of living – it was comfortable, and you rather enjoyed having others serve you – believing it was your divine right to have such privileges. That is, until one day you started to notice acts of mischief occurring around the castle – and with no one stepping up to take responsibility, you decided to seek out this imposter yourself, not realizing that was what he had wanted all along.
Vampire!CEO!Nanami x AFAB Secretary!Reader – October 31st @ 6pm PST
As the new secretary for a company, you find yourself excited about getting hired for your first job ever! You never thought to question why the position you’d applied for had been listed as vacant once every few months, nor did you wonder why all of the previous secretaries were female – all you wanted was to impress your new boss with your amazing work ethic. However, as you continue your weeks working for him, you start to notice rather…odd habits, and the more you observe, the more it becomes difficult to ignore – and why was it that the usually stoic man would seemingly become friendlier with you at the beginning of your menstrual cycles?

„There the dim dragon will come in flight, the glittering serpent, from Dark Mountains below. Bearing corpses in its feathers, as it soars over the plain, the Dark-Striker. Now she will sink down.“ - Völuspá: The Prophecy, Ragnarök
The battlefield was muddy, blood stuck to Sihtric’s features, arms, and armour. A sight that would leave any person who had never stood on a battlefield frightened, a sight Sihtric was all too used to. The fight had been brutal, no longer held back by rules, laws even knights would follow in battle, no, it had been awfully primal, watching men choke on their blood, swords and axes piercing hearts, stomachs, and lungs.
But even though Sihtric found a sick sense of satisfaction swapping through him whenever he killed an enemy of theirs, he no longer managed to focus on the victory he should be celebrating with his friends and brothers. All Sihtric could focus on was trying to find her amongst the still-breathing soldiers, praying to his gods that she was alive.
Panic began to swap through him as time kept ticking by, without any sight of her, the one his heart called out to, the one that had claimed Sihtric as hers many moons ago. (Y/n), the one he shared his bed with, the female warrior that had stolen Sihtric’s heart the first time their paths had crossed. He had instantly been drawn to her, admiring the fire burning in her eyes, the teasing words rolling off her tongue all too easily, she had been one of them from the first moment on, a warrior others looked up to.
Sihtric didn’t pick up on the call of his name, not caring about the way Finan tried to hold onto him, all too aware of his friend’s panicked state. The Irishman kept murmuring his name, hands covered in mud and blood, just like Sihtric, grasping his leather armour to stop his friend from carelessly stumbling over corpses of once honourable men and their horses.
“Sihtric, look at me.” Finan eventually managed to catch Sihtric’s frantic gaze, allowing the man to catch his breath as his heart raced in his chest, urged on by the fright clinging to him. “What is with you?”
“(Y/n), I can’t find her, I-” a cry wanted to claw through the once so fearless man, not used to being guided by his emotions like he was in that very moment. “Finan, where is she? She can’t be dead.”
“We’ll find her, I am sure she’s also trying to find you.” Finan let go of his friend, turning towards Osfeth with his head tilted towards his right, wordlessly trying to tell the young monk to follow the two. No further word was spoken as they combed through the endless seeming blanket of corpses, flipping some that had a similar build and hair colour like (y/n), praying every single time that it wasn't her.
“What if she was taken? Gods, Finan, I left her alone, I wasn’t there for her.” Neither Osferth nor Finan was used to hearing Sihtric speak words this uneasy, clearly struggling with the fear he was held hostage by. No reply was spoken as Finan focused on something, or rather someone, unable to bite down his smile as he forced Sihtric to look in the same direction.
With a gasp rumbling through Sihtric, he took off running, pressing his sword into Finan’s hands before he left them behind. His body collided with (y/n)’s, pulling her into his chest with a relieved sigh leaving him. Sihtric’s lips kept kissing her forehead, trying to prove to himself that she was alive, held close to his heart, not leaving him any time soon.
“I thought I’d lost you, don’t ever leave me like that again.” His murmured words left (y/n) chuckling, shifting her weight to meet his lips in a bruising kiss. They could taste one another’s emotions, tongues tangled, hearts beating in unison, finally able to breathe through their fear, their pain.
“I am sorry, I don’t know how I got lost in the crowd. I’m alright, I promise.” Her eyes flickered to Finan’s and Osferth’s approaching frames, shooting them a quick smile before she pressed another kiss to Sihtric’s lips, whispering a soft “I’d never leave you like that”.
……
The moon stood high in the dark sky, reflecting in the cold water currently teasing their limbs. Sihtric held (y/n)’s naked frame to his equally bare skin, still shaken up by the way he had looked for her hours ago, unable to let go of his uneasiness.
No words were spoken as they cleaned themselves, removing the reminders of a brutal but successful battle. Another victory men, women, and children would talk about for centuries to come, they were sure of it.
But even though the others had tried to pull the two lovers into their traps, wanting to celebrate their victory with endless pours of ale, neither Sihtric nor (y/n) had been in the mood to spend time with those they loved like their family. Sihtric had pulled (y/n) away from the crowd at the first chance, needing to feel her close with a sober mind and clear thoughts.
“I have never felt more frightened than today, the thought of finding you dead because I wasn’t there to protect you-“ Sihtric choked on his words, having to force his teeth into his lower lip to stop his cries from clawing through him. A facade (y/n) saw through all too easily, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him down for a kiss.
The kiss wasn’t as heated, as forceful as the one they had shared on the battlefield, but it had something equally emotional to it, transmitting their every longing. A soft moan left (y/n) as Sihtric’s strong hands found her behind, pulling her against his hardening cock. She held a special kind of magic over the man, making waves of lust thump through his veins at any given chance, his very own Ragnarök, the chaotic end of his world, and those the gods had crafted for themselves.
“Sihtric,” she mewled his name, movements slowed by the river, needing a few moments till their legs finally found their way around his waist. His cock rubbed against her folds, making both hiss in anticipation, knowing that this night would yet be another one filled with endless orgasms, with their insatiable desire for one another driving them on. “I need you, need to feel you, need to make sure that you’re still here, with me.”
Sihtric forced her into another kiss as he started walking towards the meadow leading up the hill, shielded by the darkness from any drunken men and women that may find their way down to the river. A gasp managed to leave (y/n) as he placed them down, pinning her against the ground with his weight on top of hers, not leaving any space between them.
“You’re mine, my woman, my warrior, till the day I die. I’ll never leave your side again, just the thought of losing you makes me want to end my own life. No day is worth living if I don’t get to share it with you.” The words Sihtric whispered against her swollen lips drew tears to (y/n)’s eyes, staring at her man with love and longing swimming in her pupils, only ripped out of her trance as she felt his calloused fingertips on her pulsing bundle.
Expectedly he circled the soft flesh, finding enjoyment in the sounds she let go of, begging him for more, needing to feel him buried deep inside of her. There was no need for any words, nothing would ever manage to describe what they felt for one another, what they needed to do to give in to their longings.
With his eyes burning through hers, Sihtric aligned his cock with her entrance, slowly pushing into her after he coated himself with her arousal. He took his time, wanting to savour every moment, wanting to hear the gasps leaving his lover as he sank even deeper into her, still having to adjust to the stretch after all these months. And only after (y/n) managed to choke on his name did he allow himself to properly take care of her, set on a ferocious rhythm that made both their hearts race in excitement.
Profanities left Sihtric as he interlaced his hands with hers, pinning them over her head to keep her in place. He needed to control the moment, especially after a day like this, a day where he had gotten a glimpse into a future he wanted to avoid at every cost, needing to change their fate as he still had the power to do so. She was his end and his beginning, a story that had found its beginning in Muspell, the place not even the strongest souls had managed to endure, but no matter the biting heat, he’d walk through it all if it meant getting to love her.
“Look at me, Sihtric.” (Y/n) forced his piercing eyes to focus on her, feeling his thoughts start to wander as the speed of his rough thrusts momentarily began to falter, needing to catch him before he could slip into a realm filled with darkness. “I’m here, with you. Nothing and nobody can ever change that, I’m with you for as long as you’ll have me.”
With her head being lifted from the ground, she kissed him, taking over the control to flip them around, straddling his lap. Both were desperate for their release, needing to feel that blinding sensation they were aching for. Sihtric kept watching her, marvelling at her, admiring her with his hands wandering up her frame, cupping her naked breasts.
The way he pinched her hardened nipples forced her to arch her back, head rolling back to let go of a deep, gritty moan. Sihtric could have come from the sound alone, having to stop himself from giving in as he felt her walls flutter around him. He watched her fuck herself on his twitching cock, sneaking one hand down her frame to rub her bundle.
And with the call of his name, (y/n) came, scratching at his naked chest with the intense feeling racing through her body. Once again she found herself pressed to the ground as Sihtric searched for his high, fucking into her even faster than before. He came with a gasp, eyes squeezed shut, lips parted. A sight so beautiful (y/n) wanted to freeze the passing by moments, forever needing to remember this very second.
“I love you, and nothing will ever change that Sihtric Kjartansson.”

So, you've come for me
Yes, and this will be your last!
So, a challenge.
Yes, a challenge. Now face me.
The prophecy has come to you
Immortal doom between me and you
The spear is thrown, the bite is true
The harmony of death brings life anew
I am the breaker of chains, I am the wolf of war
I am the Ragnarök, Fenrir will hunt you
Down, down, down
How edgy? Yes

Anyways I think the thing that makes loki and sigyn hit different to other tragic love stories for me is that they know this is a tragedy. Like, Ragnarök seems to be pretty common knowledge, sigyn knows how this ends, she knows exactly what will happen. And she still stays. And the whole snake torture cave is an indicator of just how loyal she is, sure, but so is everything else before that because she's not mentioned in the prophecy, she could just walk away and she'd be fine but she doesn't, she won't, she can't. And in other tragedies I've seen the main characters at least have the hope that it will all be fine, even if the audience knows better, that they'll make it through together and walk off into the sunset but loki and sigyn don't even have that. All they have is each other and all they can hope for is just one more day. I amn. Unwell

Ragnarök
Ragnarök is the cataclysmic battle between the forces of chaos and those of order in Norse mythology, ending the world and killing most of the gods and their adversaries, leading to the birth of a new world. It has been claimed, however, that in pre-Christian Norse belief there was no rebirth after the fall of the gods.
Ragnarök ("Fate of the Gods") is also given as Ragnarokkr ("Twilight of the Gods") and is the pivotal event that ends the mythic cycle beginning with the birth of the gods of Asgard (the Aesir) and the creation of the Nine Realms of Norse cosmology. The gods established order and restrained the forces of chaos, but at Ragnarök, these forces break free, and even though the gods know they are doomed, they march to battle to save the world they have created.
The gods fail and most are killed, including Odin, Thor, Tyr, and Heimdall, but order is preserved, and a new world emerges from the destruction of the old. Traditionally, since the 13th century, Ragnarök has been understood as the end of the Nine Realms through dramatic climate changes, the breakdown of traditional values, and a final battle which destroys the present cycle of existence to birth a new one. After Ragnarök, the surviving gods return to the place where their city once stood, and the last surviving human couple repopulates the earth for a new age.
This vision of Ragnarök is almost certainly influenced by Christianity, and it is possible that an earlier understanding of the event ended with complete destruction without resurrection. This claim is challenged, however, as the Norse myths were passed down orally prior to the advent of Christianity in the region and there is no written record of how Ragnarök may have once been understood. In the present day, the event is best known through popular media including a film, video game, and a TV series all suggesting rebirth after death.
Origin & Sources
The story of Ragnarök is suggested through runestones dated to between the 10th-11th centuries – notably the Gosforth Cross in England, Thorwald’s Cross on the Isle of Man, and the Ledberg Stone in Sweden – and is only attested to in writing from the 13th century CE in the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda. The Poetic Edda is a collection of earlier Norse poems while the Prose Edda was composed by the Icelandic mythographer Snorri Sturluson (l. 1179-1241) from older sources and oral tradition.
Prior to the acceptance of Christianity in the region c. 1000, myths, legends, and histories were transmitted orally. Runes were used for memorial stones and brief messages, not for longer works, and so all extant Norse mythology was recorded through a Christian lens. Scholar John Lindow comments:
Scandinavian mythology was, with virtually no exceptions, written down by Christians…At least some of the monks were literate and they composed both Latin and Icelandic texts. Some lay persons of higher status were also apparently literate, at least in Icelandic, but all writing, whether in the international language of the church or in the vernacular, was the result of the conversion to Christianity, which brought with it the technology of manuscript writing. (10)
Even the poems from the compilation known as the Codex Regius ("King’s Book", written c. 1270), some dating to the 10th century and included in the Poetic Edda, were therefore written down either by Christians or scribes influenced by the Christian vision. Among these is the Völuspá ("The Witch’s Prophecy", c. 10th century) in which Odin summons a völva (seeress) who tells of the creation of the world, predicts Ragnarök, and describes its aftermath, including the rebirth of creation after the end of the present cycle.
Other works in the Poetic Edda, such as Baldrs Draumar ("Baldur’s Dreams"), Vafrúðnismál ("The Lay of Valthrudnir"), and the Völuspá hin skamma ("Short Voluspa") also touch on or describe Ragnarök. These works, and others, were drawn on by Sturluson for his Prose Edda in which Ragnarök receives its fullest treatment in the section Gylfaginning, describing in detail the fall of the gods and the Nine Realms.

Odin “all-father” Talon Abraxas Widely worshiped by the Germanic peoples of the Middle Ages, Odin, furious lord of ecstasy and inspiration, was the highest of deities and the chief of the Aesir tribe of gods and goddesses.
Known as “all-father,” among many other epithets, Odin was usually depicted with one eye and a long beard. He would often be accompanied by his familiars—the wolves Geri and Freki, and ravens Huminn and Muninn—and rode an eight-legged horse named Sleipnir.
Befitting his kingly stature, Odin was also a mighty warrior—it was said that he never lost a battle; there were even some who believed he could not lose a battle. Despite his military prowess, Odin defied many conventions of the warrior-king archetype so highly idealized by the Norse. While Odin kept his court in the hall of Valhalla located in Asgard—one of the Nine Realms in Norse mythology—he preferred to wander in the guise of a traveler.
He sought knowledge above all else—of his enemies and the future—and courted shamans, seers, and necromancers in order to attain it. He spoke in poetry and riddles and commanded beasts, even taking their forms upon occasion. Though hero gods, such as the mighty Thor, fought with brute strength and bravado, the trickster god Odin dismissed these tools in favor of craft and cunning. Mythology
As the “all-father” and chief god of the diverse Norse pantheon, Odin figured prominently in all of the central mythological traditions—from the creation of the first humans and the Aesir-Vanir War that united the gods into a single pantheon, to the prophecies of Ragnarök marking the end of time. Origins
Despite his importance in the mythic traditions of the Norse, the details of Odin’s origins were not well understood. He appeared in early Roman sources, such as Tacitus’ Germania of the first century CE, as Mercury—another deity known as a traveler, trickster, and transgressor of boundaries. Tacitus claimed that by the first century, Odin had been established as the central god among a variety of Germanic groups.
Only Sturluson’s thirteenth century Ynglinga Saga attempted an early history, describing Odin as the king of Asgard, a ruler of great strength who blessed warriors and accepted many sacrifices. Most viewed this as a late attempt to impose order on the character of Odin, who seemed to emerge fully formed in the older mythic sources.
Some of the same ambiguities surrounded the Norse origin of humankind. Traditionally, the first humans were Ask and Embla, a male and female. Little was said about their actual creation, however, with different traditions holding that they were either formed by gods or dwarves.
When a trio of gods—including Odin, Lodur, and Hoenir—found Ask and Embla, they were lifeless husks. Pitying the creatures, the three gods decided to endow Ask and Embla with the gifts of life and sense, each choosing a separate gift to bestow upon them.
According to the Völuspá, the best known of the poems making up the Poetic Edda, Lodur granted the gift of blood, Hoenir gave sense, and Odin, befitting his status as god of passion and inspiration, offered soul and enlivening spirit.

DeadbyDad Loves: The Ironwood Section (Spoilers For God of War Ragnarök 2022)
Tumblr media
I feel like I'm one of the only few people who loved the Ironwood section of God of War Ragnarök, which is fine because I get why some people didn't like this section.
I understand that yes it was a little long and could be somewhat boring at times, but I feel like people are just skipping over or even just ignoring the whole point of this section and just focusing on the negative parts and not mentioning the best moments of this whole section.
I love the fact that the section is to introduce to the players or the viewers who Angrboda is and how she is important to the games story, who and what she will be to Atreus, and how the two will interact and why they're important for each others stories and to each other in general, and to also get us to understand the two better in a lot of ways.
But I mostly love the fact that it's the first time we see Atreus just....get to be a kid, to be a teenager with someone his age which he's never had let alone met anyone else who isn't older than him by a long shot.
It's his first time having fun, making a friend with someone who he can relate to, and his first time not putting his whole life in danger.
Atreus just gets to be a kid for the first time in his life ever since his mother died and even before that, and it's just a breath of fresh air in my opinion. It's not only allowing Atreus to take a break from his father, the war and the whole prophecy thing, and just risking his life in general, but it also gives the players time to just relax and experience the joy of a child making a friend for the first time and having some fun.
And is that so wrong?
For a character who feels like the whole world is on his shoulders, who is lying to his father, who doesn't know if the choices he's making are right or wrong (which isn't a bad thing most if not all teens go through that stage), in my opinion Atreus needed to experience this.
He needed to experience what it feels like to have a friend, to talk to someone who is his age, someone who he can have fun with without feeling like he will be attacked at every corner he turns. It was so good for Atreus and his character, especially when Angrboda comes in because she helped with a huge part of his character development.
I also fucking love Angrboda, she is so much more than Atreus' friend or love interest, and it doesn't feel like she is only his love interest because she's not, she's her own person and Santa Monica did such an amazing job at showing that.
The Ironwood section is something I felt like was perfect for the game, and I get why people don't think that and that's fine, but I think people are missing the whole reason why it was put in the game in the first place and people just tend to ignore the good moments because there's way more good moments than there is bad moments.
Some people just need to take the time to understand that and so much more to be honest.

Why do you think Sigyn was never added to the game, I doubt she’d be a love interest but just as a Aesir?
I think her being excluded entirely even without her role as Loki's lover is because of how much the game changed what happens in the myths. Due to Angrboða already taking the role of a main love interest, Sigyn's existence is, as harsh as it sounds, kind of pointless. Now, SMS does play around a ton with how the myths go, so it's not certain they wouldn't make her entirely seperate from her origins, like it was done with Kara for example.
Sigyn also plays a vital part in Loki's story; staying beside him while he's imprisoned for killing Baldr, collecting the venom from a snake placed above Loki until Ragnarök comes. This part of the myths wasn't present, therefore (most likely) Sigyn as a whole was left out.
But more importantly, Angrboða's arc is a play on how we have only one mention of her existing. This real life fact was turned into a prophecy of Angrboða being left behind by Loki once she's done playing her part. GoW is about defining fate and choosing your own path - Angrboða's story (for now) ends with her doing so. Introducing Sigyn as a second wife after this would throw everything out of the window.
Of course, anything can happen. SMS could include Sigyn in the future, in whatever way that would go. We as fans can't be certain what the writers will do.
Sigyn & Loki's love is a very good and underused concept for a story, however GoWR is one of the pieces of media which choose to not adapt it (yet?). It is one of my favorite myths, but I prefer it not existing at all over a butchered interpretation.

So this idea has been rotting my brain for ages and ages, and I told Discord about it, so now I'll brain spew it here. Angsty WarFlower ahead.
Tumblr media
Content warning for attempted suicide.
Imagine a version of events where Freya can't get past her guilt. It's shortly before Ragnarök game-start, and she's not managed to touch Kratos beyond superficiality. He and his son have responded to her persistent attacks by holing up behind the protection stave, and she can't get close. A while passes before she sees them again, months, and with no one and nothing to turn to she feels like she's slowly losing her mind. Without Kratos there in front of her to focus on, her perception of events and time become muddied and jumbled, and because she's isolated herself from her prior life she doesn't have familiar comfort. It's just cold, and dark, and empty, and her failures are playing on repeat in her mind, spreading into nightmares until she can hardly even tell what's real.
And it becomes utterly unbearable. She feels like she hates Kratos, like she has to kill him, like he's the source of all her current pain, but just beneath the surface she's fully aware of her own hand in it, of her own influence, and the what-ifs of her choices drive her mad. After not seeing hide nor hair of him or his son for months, with nothing but blinding snow and pain, the goal of killing him starts to feel as hopeless and surreal as the desire to kill Odin.
It all overwhelms her, and after yet another week of vivid nightmares of her son cursing and screaming her name, she treads to the Valkyrie circle, takes a moment to breathe in the frigid air, and runs herself through with Thrungva.
It's a relatively ineffective and slow method, but she wasn't in her right mind enough to think of so beforehand, having more been motivated by despair and desperation than a well planned desire for death. It hurts, and she can't move, can't muster the strength to get up or withdraw the blade, but her inhuman fortitude and healing keeps her suspended, and for longer than a day she's left in agony waiting to finally bleed out and die.
That is, until Atreus finds her, having sought her early after noticing the wildlife and creatures reacting strangely and trying to urge him along, to help the woman that used to care for them. He finds her lying in a growing pool of her own blood, with a heartbeat that's nearly inperceptible, breathing shallowly and cold as a corpse, and he panics hard because what he wanted more than anything was to make amends with the woman he had been starting to view as sort of another maternal figure, maximised by the guilt of causing her so much pain when she was only kind to him. It's not helping that he saw his own mother die before him not too many years prior.
So the young god freaks out, and tries to treat her, fails, and has to rush to get Kratos. Kratos is obviously rattled, and then actually hesitant. He still cares for Freya, is peturbed by the idea of her dying at her own hand, but he doesn't want to deprive her free will in this way after having just denied her it. What breaks his composure and forces his hand is Atreus' pleading, and then the sight of her.
They take her to the cabin, Kratos confident she won't be able to prove a threat for some time due to the extent of her injury, and he treats her wound while excusing Atreus to distract himself elsewhere to spare him the grisly sight of her injury, which the boy takes to pursue the prophecy tablets, of course. Freya is out for quite some time, until she isn't, and she's less than happy to be saved - particularly about just who had saved her. Kratos is indifferent, only restraining her attempts to move to prevent her from agitating her injury, and stays by her side to watch her condition even when she threatens and spits cruelties at him, trying to get a rise out of him. Nor does he show fear sleeping next to her.
It's upsetting her and muddling her mind more, because the man that snapped her son's neck and inadvertently drove her to suicide is now tenderly replacing her bandages every morning and ensuring she takes medicine and food, and then sheepishly asking for her own advice on medicine for herself. She's feverish, and woozy, and vulnerable, but he only ever treats her with utmost care, and he gently wakes her whenever she has a nightmare. One day, she lashes at him and manages to draw blood, and he still only checks her over to make sure she hasn't re opened her wound.
And this is how their reconciliation starts.

In love with the fact that Mimir makes reference to Macbeth which implies a post-Shakespeare Ragnarök (which, given that Ragnarok is a prophecy of the future in actual Norse mythology, is entirely possible).
I love this because that, along with Mimir's backstory, with God of War subscribing to A Midsummer Night's Dream as a source of inspiration for Mimir as Puck, implies that Willie Shakes might've accidentally stumbled upon the Actual Fucking Summer Court and witnessed Mimir executing the role of Puck firsthand...
And wrote a fucking play about it???
Like there are eldritch fey powers at work here sir are you SURE that's a good idea???

𝐇𝐎𝐓 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄: 𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐁𝐎𝐃𝐀 & 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐘𝐍
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝟒/𝟐𝟓/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒: Angrboða doesn't need Sigyn's identity as an anchor. Merging her with Sigyn not only outright dismisses Angrboða's character & dentity as a Jötunn opposed to the Æsir regime, there's little to no evidences that suggests Angrboða and Sigyn ever being the same person in the Eddas.
The fusion of Freya & "Frigg" made sense because there is a hypothesis whether Frigg & Freyja are the same Goddess in Norse Mythology. Same thing with Kratos being "Fárbauti" as there's little to no information about Fárbauti himself and is only mentioned as the father of Loki in kennings.
Tumblr media
The belief that Sigyn is identical to Angrboða (as well as Váli & Narfi being the same entities as Fenrir & Jörmungandr) doesn’t become more reliable just because it's from the GOW’s wiki community, especially when the source stems only from a fandom site. While Santa Monica uses creative liberties to suit their narrative, it doesn't change the fact they included accurate depictions in their games from myths they choose.
It's true we had limited information about Angrboða & Sigyn. They're pretty much left to be vague and are primarily known as Loki's lovers in Norse Mythology, but at least each had their own titles/kennings that set them apart as distinct characters, let alone the fact that Angrboða is identified as a pure Jötunn while Sigyn is classified as an Æsir.
And another thing; Santa Monica may not have intended it, but Giants are written as Indigenous with their own culture. Giants were known as artisans due to their precognition, crafting murals and shrines as a way to document their prophecies. They even have their own native language...and coincidentally, Odin and the majority of the Æsir were depicted as colonizers in GOW.
It's possible that Giants' names originated from their respective ethnicities. Odin's use of Freya's "pet name" to separate her Vanir heritage indicate that "Frigg" is most likely originated from Asgard, which is possibly the same case for "Sigyn." So, why would Angrboða want to align herself with the same oppressors (like Odin & Thor) who prosecuted her people? Considering they indirectly contributed her parents' death along with Grýla's grief.
It wouldn't make any sense for her to merge with Sigyn, especially after the confrontation with Grýla. Angrboða was raised to believe that she would be alone and forgotten; just a minor character with no significance whatsoever in Loki's story...a character that everyone assumed was only going to meet her tragic end and be easily overlooked. We can look at Norse Mythology to see the difference; where Angrboða's fate remains unknown or theorized to be dead, while Sigyn is renowned for assisting Loki during his punishment (and thus, her iconic bowl holding that the media recognizes as Sigyn's attributes).
Now that Angrboða is getting a head start on her personal journey of self-discovery, just imagine how poetic it would be in the end if she created a legacy. She's remembered not only for her part in Loki's story, but throughout the history of Jötunheim. Even if we entertain the idea of their merge, Angrboða (a Jötunn) having a second identity where she's remembered as "Sigyn" (a Asgard name) but not her ethnic name is just...no. Fusing her with an Æsir figure would discard if not outright erase her identity as a Jötunn, but ignores her opposition to Æsir oppression.
Angrboða should be allowed to stand as her own character. Just imagine her and Atreus rising to leadership in Jötunheim as they restore its realm and culture. Perhaps in the future, she could earn herself a new title (besides "Mother of Monsters") that resonates across the Nine Realms similarly like Laufey the Just. If "Sigyn" were to exist, then she should have appear in any of the Jötnar shrines/murals, especially during GOWR. Luckily, Ragnarök marks the final chapter of the Norse saga, and soon be moving on to another pantheon. It's probably for the best to leave Sigyn alone in her rightful place within the Norse Mythos.
𝐓𝐋;𝐃𝐑: Let Angrboða be her own character. She's perfect the way she is without Sigyn's identity.

Ansuz is Odin's rune. It's associated with wisdom, knowledge, and communication. The communication piece is what is striking me here. When you think about Odin and his search for knowledge, he is also one to share that knowledge. A primary example of this teaching humans seiðr after he learned it from Freya. Whether you're teaching a skill like this or updating someone about a situation, be mindful of how you're communicating. Be intentional about what information needs to be conveyed (and/or what does not) and what the most appropriate or effective way to communicate it is. I see this very much reflected in teachers' lesson plans or crafting business emails or grant proposals. Maybe dealing with a customer or someone you share space with. It's also possible this is referring to finding ways to communicate some deeply personal information with someone, like coming out, a medical diagnosis, or a strong emotion you've been carrying for a long time that needs to be released or acknowledged. Don't forget that our emotions teach us a lot about ourselves, and communicating the knowledge of your emotions fosters right relationships, no matter the setting. I mean, Odin shared his fear when telling others about the prophecies of Ragnarök and Baldr's death. (Though the actions that followed in both cases maybe didn't do much in the way of fostering right relationships. But c'est la vie. Odin's gonna Odin.) He's also one to commune with the dead, so there's a chance that your communication this week is with an ancestor. Maybe sharing something with them that you never got a chance to while they were alive.
Whether in a professional or personal setting, now is the time to mindfully craft your messages and foster healthy open communication.

Series 16 post 15: Fenrir, along with Hel and the World Serpent, is a child of Loki and female jötunn Angrboða. He is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda and Heimskringla, composed in the 13th century. In both the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda, Fenrir is the father of the wolves Sköll and Hati Hróðvitnisson, is a son of Loki and is foretold to kill the god Odin during the events of Ragnarök, but will in turn be killed by Odin's son Víðarr. In the Prose Edda, additional information is given about Fenrir, including that, due to the gods' knowledge of prophecies foretelling great trouble from Fenrir and his rapid growth, the gods bound him and as a result Fenrir bit off the right hand of the god Týr. Depictions of Fenrir have been identified on various objects and scholarly theories have been proposed regarding Fenrir's relation to other canine beings in Norse mythology. Fenrir has been the subject of artistic depictions and he appears in literature.
In my text he is a young man living on a remote island not marked on any map. He is contacted and tracked down by Vör and invited to his wedding with the aim of reuniting him and the brother with Hel. He tends to flirt with any girl, especially if he senses fear in her. He left home when Hel was little, and so did his brother.

This is everything I could find on the story of Fenrir or Fenrisúlfr. Please take this with a grain of salt, I am not a scholar nor do I claim as such, these are just my findings (and some opinions/personal experience), and I am sharing said findings.
Tumblr media
His name
The wolf god has many names, but no one know his true name or what his name "Fenrir" refers to. (watch the linked youtube video for more info)
• Fenrir (fen-dweller)
• Fenris (coming from Fenrisúlfr)
• Fenrisúlfr (Fenrir's wolf)
• Hróðvitnir (Fame-Wolf)
• Vánagandr/Vanargand (Monster of the River Van)
Appearance
In texts Fenrir is described as completely black with firery red eyes.
Family
Fenrisúlfr is the son of the giantess Angrboða, mother of monsters, and Loki, god of mischief and tricky. Fenrir has two other siblings, his sister, Hel, and his brother, Jördmungandr. Hel is the watcher of Helheim, put there by Odin, and Jördmungandr, known as the world serpent, who was thrown into the waters of midgard. Fenrir also has two recorded children but the mother is unknown, they are two giant wolves named Sköll and Hati, Sköll chases the sun and Hati chases the moon, and when they catch their targets, they will devour them, sending the realms into Ragnarök.
leading to the binding
When Fenrir and his siblings were born, Odin had a dream of Ragnarök and the jaws of a wolf before him as his vision goes black, he wakes up in a panic from the vision (another version of this is Odin goes to a prophet of sorts and receives the prophecy from there (i can not find who the prophet is as of now)), after receiving the vision/prophecy he is determined to change his fate.
By sending Hel to Helheim to watch over the dead, Thor throwing Jördmungandr into the waters of midgard (earth) where Jördmungandr continued to grow in size until he could wrap around midgard and bite his own tail, and then Odin having a favoritism for wolves as he has his own, Geri and Freki, he brings the wolf pup, Fenrir, to asgard and they care for him there in hopes to raise him to favor the gods, however Fenrir, much like his brother Jördmungandr , continued to grow and grow, and so did his apatite.
As his size and hunger grew, the gods of Asgard became fearful, and the only god brave enuough to approach him to give him food was the god Tyr, thus becoming his friend. But due to the fear of the gods, Odin came up with another plan.
The binding
The gods went to the dwarfs and asked them to make chains to bind him, once receiving the chains, the gods presented them to Fenrir and claimed it a game of strength and if he could not free himself, they would release him from his chains. Fenrir, being the pup he is and wanting to show off his strength, agreed and the Æsir bound him but the wolf broke free with little to no effort. Seeing that he broke the chains so easily, panic swelled inside them yet they applauded his strength, so again they ordered the dwarfs to make stronger chains and so they did.
Again the Æsir presented the chains to Fenrir and again he agreed, then they bound him. With these new chains he had a little struggle but he still broke free, the gods applaud him yet again but they grew evermore fearful.
And for the third time the gods went to the dwarfs and demanded the strongest fetters (bindings) to be made. The dwarfs presented the Æsir with a golden ribbon they called Gleipnir. The golden ribbon was made from The sound of a cats footsteps, A woman's beard, The roots of a mountain, The breath of a fish, The sinew of a bear, and The spitle of a bird, all impossible things to capture in those days.
The gods presented the golden ribbon to Fenrisúlfr, and the wolf studied the fetters, appearing to be to easy he disagrees suspecting trickery, but the gods press and convince him, reluctantly Fenrir agrees but on the condition one of the gods place an arm in his mouth, the gods fall silent and look to eachother, knowing they were tricking him and didnt want their arm to be bitten off.
Tyr, Fenrir's friend steps up and offers his arm and places it in the giant wolf's mouth. They bind Fenris up and let him struggle against the fetters. Being unable to break the bindings he demanded to be freed, but the gods only laughed in return, except for Tyr. Hearing the laughter, Fenrir understood he was not going to be freed so he bit down and swallowed the arm.
The gods paraded the bound wolf and took him to the mountains where they tied him to the rocks, but as they did, the wolf giant snapped at the gods, so in turn they pryed his mouth open with a sword (presumably Balder's), and Fenrir howled in pain. Saliva pooled from his mouth, to the ground where it made a river named "river ván".
It was about this time when fenrir swore to devouer Odin at Ragnarök.
Due to the betrayal of the gods, Odin sealed his fate and is devoured at Ragnarök after the sons of Fenrir, Sköll and Hati eat the sun and moon.
Fenrir as a deity
Fenrir is not a puppy and most associate him as such due to dogs, but because he brings Ragnarök doesn't make him inherently evil either. He is a wolf, he is hungry, he is a wild animal and not to be tamed, he is hunger, he is primal desire, he is anger, he is that sweet taste of revenge, he is the embodyment of the rage you feel. Not everyone may agree to this, but it is a personal belief of mine. But if you agree with me, any time you feel that anger or bottomless pit of fear, that is him, he is apart of all of us, he is that primal wolf inside of you.
Offerings
I personally don't have a large setup for Fenrir but I do what I can, I have an offering candle for him as well as some items from outside that spoke to me such as a pine cone, some large leafs, a stick, a small river rock, an old retired mjölnir, and an offering bowl. In the offering I will put food typically, sometimes jerky, one time it was an oreo that he asked for. Remember he is a wolf with a growing apatite, I find he favors food, but items are just as welcome.
Here is a small list of things you could give as offerings but are not limited to this list:
• meat (cooked or raw)
• offer your intense emotions (anger, jealousy, fear) do with caution
• wolf imagery (shirts, statue, necklace, etc)
Things i associate with him
crystals
Bloodstone, obsidian, howlite, petrified wood, black tormilne, slowflake obsidian, smoky quarts, moss agate, and jasper
Incense
Dragons blood, anything woodsy or earthy smelling
Runes
Isa, Tiwaz, Eihwaz
Colors
Black, red, dark blue, forest green, and white
Altar items
Red/black/bleeding candles, bones, black or woodsy alter cloth or animal pelt, sticks/stones/leaves, wolf imagery
Feelings/emotions
Anger/rage, fear/anxiety, pain, clostrophobia, adrenaline
Plants/herbs
Wolfsbane, rosmary, cinnamon, oak, pine
Magic
Protection, baneful
devotional acts
Dark/woodsy makeup/clothes, being yourself, selfcare, taking pride in your working out (if possible), walks, hiking, etc
Water
Moon water, river water, storm water, snow water (melted snow)
Music
I think of divorced dad rock when I think of him, I'll include playlists
Fenrisúlfr (dad rock)
Fenrir (traditional sounding)
Remember, only the stories of Fenrir are reserched, Associations very from person to person, some things may over lap such as meat, or walking in nature, but the finer details like herbs and crystals are unique to each individual. These are just some ideas as there is not much positive or nutral ideology of Fenrisúlfr, if you have any questions about fenrir please ask, and not all of the stories were researched, I feel like a lot of it I already knew or was Fenrir reaching out to me while typing. So take all of this with a grain of salt.
Have a blessed day,
Sköll
