Here Are Some Tips To Improve Logistics Communication:
Pay Full Attention
Effective communication always starts with listening. Misunderstandings in communications are common with people who don’t have listening skills. All people have responsibilities, so wasting other people’s time can be bad for someone in the logistics industry.
It takes more than just physical presence to attend a logistics event. You must give your full attention in every meeting to avoid missing important details and forcing your partner to repeat information they've already said. Anyone can tell when you're not paying attention, and that's not how you should interact with current or future partners.
Practice Active Listening
You must listen actively to truly understand your logistics partner. Active listening in logistics communication requires understanding, responsive engagement, and retention of the information the other person is conveying.
Understand What’s Not Being Said
You should also be able to recognize when a prospect is lying. These are essential skills to have, and you won’t succeed until you develop the ability to read between the lines.
Speak In Specifics
You should be specific to be influential in logistics. You can prove to others that your freight forwarder is the ideal fit for his services and working style by providing concrete instances or tales to bolster your arguments.
Be A Logistics Expert
It is impossible to be particular if you do not understand what you're talking about. You should prove that you are an expert in the logistics sector and you know the issues, practices, and purchasing trends.
If you want to locate other logistics specialists who are true professionals in their freight forwarding industry, you should join a logistics network that carefully selects its members.
Know What They Don’t Know
It's not necessary to know everything about the logistics industry to be considered an expert. But you should be knowledgeable enough to manage the cargoes of your partners, have excellent assistance, and be an outstanding operator. You should also need to depend on your prospects to provide the missing information.
Recognize your knowledge gaps and ask your logistics partner to assist you in filling them in. You won't lose transactions due to erroneous assumptions; they will respect your candor about what you don't know.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, there are many ways via which honing your logistics communication skills can assist you in creating beneficial relationships for your enterprise. Finally, read Larry Savage Jr. Birmingham- 7 Skills That Can Help You Become an Expert Logistics Specialist if you want to become a master of logistics.

PARSELSCRIPT!!
Hi. This is mostly for the people from Discord but tadah! I'm finally making that Tumblr post I've been talking about for months.
(Warning this will probably be very chaotic)
To anyone new who sees this: me and some friends made an alphabet for Parseltongue from Harry Potter, aka Parselscript. I'll take you on a little journey to explain my process and give you some tips, should you want to start writing it.
Disclaimer: I wanted to make this script usable for the writer I made it for so it's less of an actual language and more just some characters to represent the Latin (or ‘English’) letters. Like a cipher. It is not realistic. If I made this realistic I'd have to add all sorts of things to indicate body language and smell etc and also have to figure out what sounds Parseltongue actually has etcetera etcetera. No.
Alright.
It all started when we started talking about Parselscript in a Discord server and I asked my friend Ava to visualise the script because she seemed to have a clear vision of it, so I could use it to go from there.
That's how we got this.
Tumblr media
I think we all wanted to go with something flowery for some reason, so we did.
After this I just messed around with brushes and shapes in Procreate for a while, tweaking things and trying to make it more writeable. I ended up with something like this (still a rough draft).
Tumblr media
It may look a bit like random squiggles at first, and it kinda was at this point. As you can see there's also a lot of added dots and lines, which can be a bit hard to remember and I see you wondering what it looks like without them.
Well here it is.
Tumblr media
I showed this to the people I brainstormed with in Discord and we decided to go with the more complicated version because it looks better lol.
This is one of the final versions.
Tumblr media
It says: "Hello, my name is Kiwi Cult. I made this script after reading a fanfic called Terrible, But Great written by Isalise the loml on Archive Of Our Own."
Now, to talk about some of the (boring) logistics.
It is read from left to right, top to bottom.
Every separate combination of squiggles you see above is a separate word. Every word is made up of a starting character, one or more letter characters and an ending character.
The very first character you see in the top left corner, with the three petal looking thingies, is a silent starting character that indicates the start of a sentence. Not word: sentence. The end of the character, that little circle thingy, is a comma. So, the first combination says: "Hello,".
Then, the second combination starts with a kind of hook going down and right. This is also a silent character and more meant as an interpunction, that's why you don't pronounce it. It's kind of just a way to start the word when there isn't anything special about it (aka it's not the start of a sentence, a name, an exclamation or a question. But every character is special in its own right🥲). The same kind of hook can be found at the bottom of the combination, except going up. It has the same use, basically just a way to end the word when there isn't anything special about it. Now, you might ask: why does it go right and not left?
We talked about this a while, because I wanted the direction to have some kind of meaning. We wondered about gender, tone, blah blah all kinds of complicated things but in the end I just wanted this script to be writable so I chose to have proficient writers in Parseltongue make their hooks go left and beginners have their hooks go right.
Now, you might notice that I end my words with a hook going right. That is because I don't see myself as a pro in writing in Parselscript okay? It's hard!😭💀
Now, other than the character indicating the start of a sentence, the circle, and the simple hook, there are a few other characters to start or end a combination (don't worry I'll show them all to you at the end, you won't have to use your imagination for long).
We have a character to indicate a name. Now, the rule is: name indicator over start of sentence indicator. So, if you start a sentence with a name, you'll use the symbol to indicate a name, NOT BOTH. (That's not even possible but I don't even want to see you try and butcher my child).
There is a character to indicate a sentence that would usually be followed by an exclamation mark (!), but at the start of the sentence. Then you’d end the exclamated sentence with a period.
The same goes for a question mark (?): put it at the start of a question, not the end. Again, it wouldn't even be possible to use it at the end of a combination but I DON'T EVEN WANNA SEE YOU TRY.
Finally we have a period (.), which looks a bit like a flower with four petals. You do use this one at the end of a word, and it is always followed by a start of sentence indicator or a name indicator. I know people are rejecting capitals these days in their typing but I don't wanna see it. If you start a word after a period with a hook I will find you.
If a sentence starts with a name that is also a question or exclamation you’d use the question/exclamation mark above the name indicator, otherwise it would take away a vital part of the sentence while a name can still be read even if it doesn’t have its indicator.
So, to put it all next to each other, the symbols we have are: -start of sentence indicator -name indicator -exclamation mark (!) -question mark (?) -period (.) -hook (direction depends on efficiency) -comma (,) (direction depends on efficiency)
I didn't make adjusted characters to indicate a capital letter like we do in the Latin alphabet, meaning that the only things you can kind of 'capitalise' are the start of a sentence and the start of a name.
It is also slightly phonetic. Emphasis on slightly. I made separate characters for almost all letters in the Latin alphabet, so you can just write your word normally with Parselscript characters. The only difference is that I made only one character for the 'f/v' sounds and that there is no 'c' character. If a word has a 'c' in it, you'll have to use the character for a 'k' or an 's'. Also a ‘q’ can be made with ‘k’ and ‘w’ etc.
A few examples: -character=karakter -parselscript=parselskript -crazy=krazy -science=siense
-quiz=kwuiz
I know it looks a bit confusing, but I trust you guys' ability to read context clues and figure out what someone means when you try to decipher Parselscript.
Now, for a word like 'phonetic' or 'decipher' I don't really care whether you use the separate characters for 'p' and 'h' or just the one for the 'f/v' sound. You do you.
I also don’t use any double letters because they basically sound the same and it looks ugly but if you want to use double symbols feel free.
I also made some numbers that do not look like they fit with the rest of the script but I promise you that's just because you're not used to it yet. Our own numbers don't belong with our alphabet either because we nicked them from the Arabs (I think, don't quote me on this) but we don’t notice that either.
Tumblr media
Tadah. (Yes I know it’s out of order I told you this was gonna be chaotic af)
Other than that, feel free to ask me questions if I've forgotten anything or if you're wondering about anything. I can't guarantee that I have a good answer because I might not even have thought about it myself, but I can always try to come up with something. I am one person, I'm afraid I haven't been able to take everything about a script into consideration.
Now, without further ado; here is the key.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No, your eyes didn't deceive you: there are two versions. The first has a bit more loose squiggles than the second one. I realised that when I was writing physically, the second version was much nicer to write, so it is kind of like Simplified Parselscript. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna put some lore behind it or not yet. But I included the og one if you're a tryhard and wanna take it on.
Now, if you're gonna start writing it yourself, here is the stroke order.
Tumblr media
I tried to make it as clear as possible but please ask me if you're confused on anything.
Red is the starting point of the whole symbol, the arrows indicate the direction to go in, x marks the start of the small extra's.
Now, I'd also recommend writing on some type of paper with vertical lines like this if you're gonna do it physically.
Tumblr media
You can just turn a paper with normal, horizontal lines a quarter to get vertical lines. Also, do NOT write in between the lines. They are meant to help you keep the start and ending on the same line so you don't start going into crazy directions while writing. So, start your sentence symbol or hook or whatever in the middle of the line and try to keep coming back to that vertical line after every letter. As you gain more proficiency you'll probably go straight into the next letter without going back to the line all the time but I think this is a good starting point.
I also recommend writing with a fountain pen or something else that flows well because it’s easier to write that way.
Here is another rough draft I made on physical paper to get a feel for it. As you can see this draft had a lot more different starting characters and ending characters so just ignore that. Hope this motivates you a bit or smth.
Tumblr media
Lmk if you want me to post a video of me writing in this Parselscript.
Also please let me know if you know of someone else who's also made a Parselscript because I tried to look for it on Tumblr and Twitter etc but I couldn't find anything.
I also feel like there’s a big mistake I made that I realised the last time I worked on this script but I’ve forgotten it now so if you find out please comment or dm or anything💀
Also feel free to use in your own fic, tho a little tiny shoutout in the a/n would be nice :) I’m @/kiwi_cult on Ao3, @/slvtr_ on Wattpad, @/kiwi cult on ff.net, @/slvtr.1 on TikTok and @/.slvtr on Discord.
Credits:
@natis-balamnimaja @asterialvia and @/zee (who unfortunately left the server and I don't know the Tumblr @ of) for brainstorming with me and @isalisewrites for inspiring us and making the server we discussed this in.
Okay bye :) tell me if I forgot anything.

Hey gw2 peeps I recently learned that this interview exists (it’s from late December last year)
And I think reading through it gives a lot of context for why the latest update(s) may not have hit the mark for more story inclined people.
(My own thoughts/analysis under the cut. I’ll try to be vague spoilers but it comes with the territory)
Ok first to get it out of the way: my thoughts. I like this update! I think the new part of the map is beautiful as always, and it feels a LOT livelier than the first part. The new meta is less intensive than The Road to Heitor and feels fun to drop in and to replay, which is nice. I love all of the events that focus on helping civilians. I’m glad we have a portal from the Wizard’s Tower now, too! I haven’t really dug into all of the new weapon proficiencies on all classes, but I am enjoying engineer shortbow in WvW! I think this update has a lot more than a lot of people are giving it credit for, because what’s here is more mechanical gameplay than story instance content. I’m ok with the player character being A Hero and not THE Hero, but I do wish the commander had more speaking lines because it’s the little things that make the story so immersive and fun for me.
Speaking of, I want to highlight a quote from the interview I linked above. The rest of it is really fascinating, but this part stood out as specifically relevant to the discussion being had.
We’re learning a lot about how we develop and release content on this cadence, which absolutely has a downstream effect on the player experience. The overall shape of development between expansions 4 and 5 are very similar (timelines, resourcing, etc), even if the content and features are not. This means that we’re able to focus more on refining our development processes than reinventing them. The better that we can identify production issues like undocumented dependencies, bottlenecks, resourcing issues, etc, means that we can proactively address those issues in future dev cycles.
From our experiences with Secrets of the Obscure alone, we’ve adjusted development schedules, review processes, dev resource allocations, documentation and communication practices, and more. All of these contribute, to some degree, to improving the quality of what we deliver.
So basically what I’m getting here is that SotO was a huge adjustment, and if I’m reading between the lines correctly, I would guess that the adjustment was probably a little rough (to put it mildly).
I think this is why the story instance content was weaker than what other updates have provided. It makes sense that if a speaking part had to be cut/diminished, it would be the player character’s. 10 different voice actors for each line of dialogue is a lot more difficult to plan logistics for than a single voice actor reading ten lines.
But it also makes me hopeful that the devs at Anet will continue to learn from whatever might have gone wrong, and I am really excited to see what’s next!

A Disgraced Trooper's Last Resort
Corrie moonshine has the kind of punch that can knock your teeth out. It's bootlegged with whatever they can find that won't outright kill them if it settles in their stomach, but definitely strong enough that it would sooner be considered outright gutrot than an actual FDA approved drink.
Not something your run of the mill liquor license or health insurance would cover.
Not that Fox really concerns himself with either of those things as he takes a swig from his lucky flask. To him a drink is a drink, especially when he feels like he needs it most. And he did need that extra push of liquid courage tonight more than he ever had before.
To put it simply, he was between a rock and a hard place. Relations between the GAR and the Guard were at an all time low. And, despite his Corries saying otherwise, it was all his fault.
He'd stumbled and made some terribly misguided mistakes. Grasped at tantalising straws that he'd hoped would be his and his men's salvation, only to fail time and time again. Burying himself and his troopers deeper and deeper in a grave that had been prepared for them since arrival. Eagerly applauded by the man who'd made them all his fools and jesters.
He'd botched Commander Tano's capture and then shot a brother dead. And not just any brother either. He'd shot one of Rex's boys. The only surviving one that he'd claimed from the defunct Rishi Moon outpost.
The heat was on high and everyone he loved and cared for was suffering terribly for it.
From his commanders to the shiniest of shinies. All because he couldn't win against Palpatine. He was in too deep and had no allies that could get him and his men back out of this deep dark pit. At least not any allies that had any real power.
Fox was playing a game that he simply couldn't win. But maybe he didn't have to...
Taking another swig of the flask, Fox contemplated the only logical conclusion he'd reached in the last couple of months, as he'd noticed just how much things had deteriorated. Contemplated this rather outlandish plan of his that was very much a last desperate call to set things right.
It all came back to flimsywork and the world of bureaucracy. Things he hated but was much too intimately familiar with. He'd submitted the performance report a month ago before settling for another round of the waiting game. Detailed what needed to be scrutinised, and omitted what most definitely didn't. His idea was a little out there but not unheard of, especially with the observations he'd dutifully jotted down to back up his decision.
And then there was the matter of tempting the Chancellor with something he couldn't quite resist, which he thought he'd done so beautifully. If he was good at anything besides suffering through logistics and political nonsense, it was nicely baiting a trap of his own.
As soon as Fox made his next move, a few things would change. Hopefully for the better. Not that his men would understand. At least not at first... But it had to be done. He'd made the assessments and he had certainly done his homework. As soon as the report was called in for review to pick his successor, they would very easily concede to his wishes.
Due to the current losses and supposed number of decomms, there were simply not enough skilled guardsmen for it to justify promoting their most veteran commanding officers. Thorn would be barred the position of marshal commander due to both his position as head of the prison force, and his constant requisitioning for escort missions. So would Stone, who was far too proficient in his senatorial guard duties to be pulled aside as a glorified secretary to the Chancellor. And Thire would need to take time off to train a replacement officer to guide the patrolsmen due to having the best knowledge of Coruscant's layout, making him the most effective patrol co-ordinator they had ever had.
And time was not something anyone could spare on Triple Zero.
And, with no one else nearly as experienced or simply far too important in their current positions, that left only one option should the position of marshal commander ever open up: Requisition a trooper just as skilled as Fox himself from another battalion.
Which is exactly what he'd done when he'd submitted the report. Should he be incapacitated or destroyed, command of the Guard would fall to the only person he trusted to be capable of leading them. Or, in Fox's true motivation, that had the actual power to put an end to Palpatine's sick little games.
And the best part? No one would call into question his choice on the matter. He'd waited more than enough after he'd submitted the report for it to register as valid on record, even after he did what he was about to do.
Which is why, as Fox finished emptying his flask as he stood on the very roof of the Senate building, he couldn't help but smile. Smile and wish Cody the best of luck. The bastard was going to need it, especially when Fox knew Palpatine would rejoice at taking something, anything, from General Kenobi who he seemed to so greatly despise.
The neon lights and smell of chemicals and pollution greeted the disgraced marshal commander as he stood at the very edge of the roof. Ready to make a spectacle of this. Ready to set his own twisted little game into motion. Palpatine had won the first few rounds, but he would not be able to best Cody. Not with the reputation he had, nor the esteem he'd earned. Which was exactly what Fox was counting on.
And, as he flung himself forward towards his inglorious demise, he hoped against all hope that Cody's fondness for his general was a mutual thing and not once-sided. If just so his little brothers in the Guard could finally have a chance.
He was, quite literally, taking a leap of faith.

new yap session lmao. also: watch my silly idea post turn into actual writing
SO i just had an idea and my few newfound follower count has got to tell me if this is good. so get this. (big warning for expand btw, like sorry)
there's a warrior clan in a cave setting ok. they are tigers. they have bioluminescent green pools inside and it's really cool like there's green glowy stuff everywhere. mostly algae but also glowworms and some other fungi.
basically the clan lives in a cave network and the main camp doesn't have any ponds for kit safety. HOWEVER all the clan's territory is confined to the cave network and all the hunting ground is littered with the bioluminescent pools. this is because in the caves, there's less land prey, so the clan has adapted to hunt fish and other animals in the pools (pending more research on animals that would reside there). this also fits because tigers are known to swim for hunting and also just for fun.
there are other clans--thinking a rainforest clan, a plains clan, and like... a treetop clan where their camp is in the actual trees [skyclan wishes they were them] and main clan only shares a border with rainforest and treetops. i think it would be set in thailand somewhere, broadleaf forests or rainforest
name ideas for all the diff clans welcome including the main one, here's what i have so far
algaeclan: would have to be changed once the bio came
glowclan: same as above
caveclan: bit basic? i like the alliteration tho
brightclan: ironic name until bio lol
darkclan: makes sense until bio
now that the logistics are over, time for story!
The bioluminescence in the pools is NEW. like the story prologue is when it begins and the first chapter is like a year or so in. before, they were just normal ass cave pools. obviously everyone's like wtf
cause this clan is not that new. it's at least gone through like 3 leads and a few founders lived in the caves before official clans were formed. so this has never been seen before in at least like 15 years.
so! everyone avoids the pools for a while and tries to hunt miscellaneous mice and spiders (temporary spiders georg clan) but it's not enough to feed the whole clan, it's just scraps. so the clan has to concede and start hunting from the pools.
the most proficient hunters, who dive the most, started feeling strange things. one day, about a half-moon after the clan started hunting pools again, Hawkwasp, one of the best hunters in the clan, didn't come back up from a dive.
The clan was really worried. the best hunters in the clan can hold their breath for 100 seconds at most, so dives are usually quite short. However, Hawkwasp was already down in the water for 10 minutes. no tiger can hold their breath that long, no matter how good a hunter they are.
after an hour had passed, another reputable hunter of the clan (Shineprance) dove to find Hawk despite her clanmates' protests. After around 30 seconds, Shine found Hawk--fully conscious and still hunting the pool. obviously she was relieved, but also confused. what could possibly allow Hawk to spend that much time underwater?
Through pawspeak (which everyone is taught from apprenticeship to both accommodate deaf clanmates and to speak underwater) Shine asked Hawk where he'd been. Hawk asked what she meant. after explaining that she'd been looking for her, Hawk questioned.. "how long have i been underwater?"
After bringing Hawk back to the surface, he confirms that she thought she'd only been down for a minute or so. after it was explained, he was greatly shocked and vowed to never dive again. she has only hunted spiders for the clan ever since.
Over the coming moons, more and more of the clan's best hunters stayed underwater much, much longer than usual. the longest run was around 5 hours. it is quickly realized that something about the bioluminescent algae and plants gave tigers the ability to breathe underwater. The tigers affected, only 5 warriors including Hawk, began to form subtle green gills around the neck/shoulder area. their paws, claws and muzzle areas started to taint green. Some reported pain in the upper stomach.
Despite these concerning effects, the leader and deputy went over the head of both the clan's nurses and encouraged the continuation of using the newfound power. the clan had fallen on tough times before, and they wren't going to prevent hunting from the pools again if it meant they went back to that.
slowly, growths start forming on the tigers affected. algae and moss for one, mushrooms for others, and glowworms for one. Hawkwasp is the only one with spiders. all the affected tigers' eyes turn slightly more green with each passing day.
Before the bioluminescence, the clan relied on small skylights for light from the sun and moon, but now that it's here the skylights have gradually started closing up. no one knows if the entrances, or more importantly exits to the caves will be next.
the affected have started acting.. strange. not like themselves. They've started disappearing into the pools for far longer than when it first started. it began with hours, but they're turning into days. the affected have no sense of time down there. the leader and deputy have instructed no one to go after them--they wouldn't want to obstruct their hunting.
The nurses of the clan attempt to recommend that each tiger dives with at least one other tiger, but the deputy and leader have overrided that and anyone except apprentices may dive alone.
Hawkwasp has not dove since the first incident. However, he still experiences the same symptoms as the other affecteds. It seems that as long as they still dive, every affected tiger will continue to undergo the symptoms. Hawkwasp has grown increasingly aloof, only communicating with clanmates when necessary. Most of the time, she can be found wandering the caves, skirting pools carefully and chasing the spiders that are not already scattered across her pelt.
No one knows what the affected tigers do down there, in the pools. some tigers think they're just hunting. some think they're encountering creatures of the deep. some think they're exploring their new home.
notes: i am SO so inspired by @clanborn, i think their writing and new concepts for the clans are amazing. thanks so much :)

Sakurai Haruka: An idea (pt. 1)
Okay, dramatic title, but this is just about the information we have that points to Haruka having spent a decent amount of time in a psych ward. ...it's more long-winded than this needs to be, my English teachers (and all my other ones) keep saying I need to be more concise. Can't be bothered. Part 1: Haruka, language, and education. Starting with the character description, we get that he initially only responds to Es's questions with "a word or two", though once he's used to being around someone he becomes "talkative". He likes to talk with the others, even saying that it's his "hobby" in his T1 Q12 response. However, "since his communication skills are poor, he is unable to hold a proper conversation".
Tumblr media
Across the whole project, particularly in the first trial, he's hesitant to interact, but he keeps on trying. He seems to stutter a lot, many of his int. answers are written with basic kanji, same with the Japanese subtitles for Weakness and AKAA. Haruka's unused to talking unless the expectations for him are clear (a common theme for him), he's not got a lot of practice with social situations, and his behaviour is notably anxious. It's likely that, so far in his life, he hasn't actually needed any language skills more complex than that. His vocab and character recognition/writing should be better than they are, if only by necessity. It's clear that he's capable of learning the language, as he does know some kanji and his hiragana, and he's adept in using what he does know to fill in the gaps (i.e, in the VDs). ...if he went to school, which he should have, then he'd be more proficient in Japanese. I'm not sure what Haruka's approximate proficiency level is, but it's probably about junior high level (12-15 yrs old, Mu is 16 and in her first year of high school). But he's made very little mention of school in general, if any. Mu's entire MVs are in a school setting, and Yuno at least talks about it (saying she's a high school third year and mentioning theatre club). I don't think Haruka's attended high school, at least. Junior high, maybe, but definitely not high school. He says that knowing another language is "impossible", even if English is mandatory in most Japanese schools. He's not working, either (most expensive thing he's bought was candy floss), or finding education in other areas like a trade or art. He's, technically, a NEET. But he wants to talk to the others. He actively enjoys it. He's responsive. He isn't a hikikomori, really, since between talking to another of the prisoners and being on his own, he'd choose to talk.
Tumblr media
It's a conclusion most of us have come to. The neglect and abuse of Haruka, from his mother (he considers his father to be part of his family, but he only really talks about his mother, and his father "wasn't particularly interested" in him. Probably left in his childhood). He wants to be noticed. He wants people to like him. He was jealous of the person he killed. But... why keep him from school? Because of shame (of having a neurodiverse child)? Japan finds it very important to attend school, it's a big thing. Many would find it more shameful not to go. It's not an issue of cost, Haruka's had several pets and those can be expensive to care for. Time? The drain of being a caretaker? Better to send the kid to school, get them doing lots of clubs. But what if, logistically and practically, there wasn't much point to sending Haruka to high school in the first place? If Haruka had spent a significant amount of time on an inpatient unit, then it makes sense. Especially if he has been readmitted on multiple occasions, not far apart (which would be more realistic than one long admission spanning years, I think), then he'd miss too much school to justify enrolling him. He'd miss too many classes, be too far behind, and it would overall be worse for his mental wellbeing to switch between psych care and rigorous education, instead of going between psych care and home. It does actually make sense, to focus on Haruka's mental health instead of attempting schoolwork. ...Not to say that the whole situation was handled well, ahaha no. It explains:
his apparent lack of high school education
why we see the inside of his home prominently in his MVs
why he uses Japanese that's below his expected proficiency level (he's trying to get better, and he's probably been infantilised a bit by professionals and his mother, so there was never a "need" to work on his vocab)
a good part of why Haruka's mother seemingly has never gotten into trouble in regards to her care of Haruka (because, in some ways, she's actually doing the right thing, somehow)
why Haruka doesn't quite know how to talk to people
Okay too long, going to make a part 2 later. More about the evidence pointing to a psych ward specifically, and how that puts much of his behaviour into context beyond "oh he never grew up".

Topsy Turvy Days in Heartslabyul
Oops, off to a late start with the prompts 😅 Tumblr queue didn’t work as intended, rip
The Queen of Hearts, and her Spirit of Strictness.
Tumblr media
Kalim Al-Asim…
Tumblr media
… really looks up to his fellow second-year Riddle, so he promised him that he’ll do his best to live up to Heartslabyul’s illustrious legacy! (Both Riddle and Jamil were highly concerned in spite of his words, and they each provided Kalim with their checklists and reminders on what to do and what NOT to do.)
He tries his darnedest to study up on the rules of the Queen of Hearts!! Problem is, memorization’s never been Kalim’s strong suit so he gets all the rules mixed up. What was he supposed to do after a hedgehog sneezes? When does he have to hold tea today? Was it herbal or lemon tea he's meant to have after dinner? (Oh well, he thinks, deciding to just wing it with his best efforts and a big grin on his face. Jamil will be proud of him for trying, right?)
It's clear that Kalim's not the same kind of a leader as Riddle is. He's very lenient with the rules and expectations, both on himself and on others. If anyone's running late or struggling with an assignment, chances are that Kalim's right there with them. He doesn't let that get him down, though! When he notices someone else in trouble, he's the first to extend a hand and a smile (“Hey, I’m late for a really important date too!”), offering to walk with them to class so they can be tardy together, or asking if he can study with them.
Kalim greets his temporary dorm mates Rook and Ruggie with aplomb. “Let’s do our best together, you guys!!” he says, willing to once again fully place his trust in others. Truthfully, he’s heard discouraging things from others about Ruggie and Rook—about how Ruggie’s a thief and how Rook invades people’s privacy—but he doesn’t let those words cloud his own notion of them. He wants to get to know those two himself, then discern their character… because to Kalim, everyone has some good in them, and he intends to find that ray of sunshine and bring it out!
The flamingos and hedgehogs love him, holy crap. Kalim's not exactly proficient in Animal Languages, but he's somehow able to communicate with them by reading their body language and guessing how they're feeling. The flamingos follow him in a conga line-esque formation, while the hedgehogs nestle in his cardigan and other nooks and crannies. There's just something so warm and comforting to them about this friendly newcomer! (Kalim spends his time with them cuddling instead of using them to play croquet.)
Organizing anything? Don't count on it to go smoothly. Kalim's so used to having servants (and, well, mostly Jamil) handle the logistics, he doesn't know what to do on his own! The other Heartslabyul students look to him for guidance, but he tends to be carefree and extravagant about what he thinks would work for an unbirthday party. "Some bright, shiny streamers would look good here and there! How about silk with gold thread and rubies?", and, "Oooh, let's get some music going so make some happy feet! Should we fly in an orchestra?" Ideas pile up in excess for the dorm to execute, and it becomes incoherent and difficult to juggle at times.
Kalim's habit of excess bleeds into other areas as well. He takes his tea strong, and practically clears the Heartslabyul kitchen of its milk and sugar, plus whatever other add-ins he can find in the cabinets. It's not as though he selfishly brews for himself though! Kalim's more than happy to put on a pot of tea and to summon snacks to share with all of his Heartslabyul dormies! He serves them himself, and, as the gracious host, he keeps the conversation and the laughter flowing as he piles their cups high with cube after cube of sugar.
Even though Kalim may not have the planning down, he makes up for it with heart! Sure, the decorations may not match, the music is all over the place, and the food’s overdone (or underdone), but the garden is still filled with happiness as he flits from guest to guest, encouraging them to eat, to drink, to dance, to be merry!! Kalim doesn’t leave anyone unattended to, he wants to see them all have a good time!
“Gahahah! Heartslabyul’s so lively, I can see why Riddle’s so proud of his dorm!! When everyone comes together like this… it reminds me of the banquets we throw in Scarabia, but it’s also different somehow. The atmosphere, the energy!! Maybe it’s just a special kind of chill magic that only Hearyslabyul has! It’s a kind of party that doesn’t need a reason for celebration. We can just celebrate that we’re here today, hanging out with all our precious friends!! There’s no amount of gold or jewels that’s as valuable.”
Rook Hunt...
Tumblr media
… is positively brimming with excitement for what this new experience will bring! He made sure to bring his camera and a fresh scrapbook to document every waking moment of his time in Heartslabyul—as well as every waking moment of the lives of his new dorm mates. Fufufu... Why, they won't even notice he's there!
Rook's super into trading his Pomefiore threads for Heartslabyul ones. In fact, he went on a long spiel about fashion being a form of self-expression (nay, ART!!) and how he feels as though he's a great tree shedding its leaves in the autumn and reemerging in the spring with a shiny, spectacular new set of leaves. ("Er... glad you're so fired up about this. Just try to make sure the dorm isn't on fire by the time I'm back, okay?" Trey pleads of his clubmate.) Rook promises—as he slips on his own version of Trey’s fedora, complete with a biiig black feather in place of the clover.
Memorizing the rules is a cinch for him—but even though Rook tends to them as dutifully as Riddle would (Vil would never forgive him if he didn’t), Rook also goes out of his way to lend his assistance when he can, particularly with Kalim. The huntsman is there to gently coax, encourage, and guide his underclassmen… but sometimes he’s just as content observing them fumble or ignore the rules entirely. That, too, is something he finds to be beautiful, in its own clumsy way.
He has no trouble navigating Heartslabyul’s long, twisty hallways. They actually offer a lot of interesting avenues of exploration if one is willing to poke around (which, as you can imagine, Rook indeed does to sate his curiosity). It has made him far more dangerous than it already is, allowing him to quickly move all around the dorm. He sometimes teases his juniors about this, asking “Is it this way? Or perhaps it is that way. Who’s to know, fufufu… Every adventure requires a first step, so why not take it? You may just find yourself pleasantly surprised with what awaits at the end of that path.”
The rose gardens have become his new “hunting grounds”. At any given moment, an unsuspecting Heartslabyul student could be painting the roses, only to startle when they realize that it’s not the green leaves of the hedges they’re staring at, but a pair of keen green eyes in the hedges staring back at them. “Bonjour. Lovely weather we’re having today, wouldn’t you agree?” he’ll ask, emerging from his hiding spot like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Rook’s zest for life cannot be ignored. The Heartslabyul students can’t ignore it, even if they wanted to. His speeches and soliloquies practically reverberate in the corridors, overpowering the various clocks tick-tick-ticking on the grounds. He’ll comment on the smallest thing, finding joy in the flowers that the dorm has worked so hard to cultivate (he actually talks to the flowers like they’re real people) to the energy everyone puts in to have a dazzling show (unbirthday party). It’s annoying at first, but some students come to appreciate the weird morale boost? encouragement.
While there aren’t many fairies, beastmen, or merfolk for Rook to observe (at least not compared to the other dorms), he marvels at the animals that Heartslabyul has raised! Such healthy, happy little creatures! Oh, and how they flock so adoringly to Kalim!! How Ruggie so expertly converses with them!! Rook thanks the Great Seven that he’s able to bear witness to these candid moments.
People swear up and down that the laws of physics somehow bend to Rook’s whims. For some Great Seven forsaken reason, roses seem to follow Rook wherever he goes in Heartslabyul. He’ll appear out of nowhere, and suddenly he’s accompanied by a dramatic gust of wind, sparkling sunshine, and a shower of crimson rose petals. “It literally only happens with him,” Hearslabyul Mob Student A-kun reports to the school newspaper. “I don’t sense any magic when it happens, but he MUST be intentionally fucking with us.”
“The kingdom that Roi des Roses oversees is a beautiful one, brimming with whimsy and blossoms. There is not one second where I do not find myself entranced by its wonders. However, what I find most enchanting about Heartslabyuls is, above all else, the effort with which the Queen and her card soldiers put forth to maintain the beauty we see today. It is thanks to their dedication that we, and many future generations, can enjoy the fruits of their labor. Marvelous, no?”
Ruggi Bucchi...
Tumblr media
… breathes a sigh of relief, knowing that he’ll get some time away from being run ragged by Leona. A hyena’s got other things to tend to! He fully intends on taking advantage of his time at Heartslabyul to pack away at anything they might have to offer him!!
He sticks out like a sore thumb in Heartslabyul—his mischievousness and rough-around-the edges personality doesn’t initially mesh well with the more straight-laced and meek, obedient members of the dorm. That’s fine by Ruggie, since he’s aware he’s not here to make friends. It’s just pragmatic overall, and at least everyone has a mutual understanding of it. (Buuut if anyone messes with him, nothing’s stopping him from pulling a little prank or a wallet or two… They’ll never see it comin’—)
Ruggie’s mildly (okay, a lot) salty about having to be in the same dorm as Rook for a while. He does whatever he can to avoid being in the same general vicinity as the huntsman (in spite of Kalim’s efforts to help everyone get along). If they have to be in the same room, you’ll find Ruggie hugging his back to the wall and glaring at Rook from across the room. He knows from experience that if his eyes move off of that guy, Rook will suddenly be centimeters away from him and talking his ear off about something stupid.
He doesn’t care to look at the rules. If he gets caught red-handed, so what? He’ll find a way to cleverly smooth talk or sneak his way out of suffering the repercussions. It’s debatable whether those same excuses would work on Riddle, but they’re at least effective with Kalim (who expresses nothing but empathy for Ruggie and immediately lets him off the hook). “Nishishishishi! It’s true what they say, there’s a sucker born every minute.”
Screw the rules, Ruggie has money (… making to do. He has money making to do)! It starts with offering his services to fill in for the busy Heartslabyul students’ chores! There’s a lot of them who would rather goof off or focus on other work, so he ends up turning a considerable profit doing their part of unbirthday party prep for a premium. (Since all the work is concentrated in one area, it’s very time efficient too!)
While Ruggie’s mostly looking out for himself, that doesn’t mean he offers nothing to Heartslabyul. He has a lot of knowledge that ends up being of use to the dorm, from new unbirthday party recipes using ingredients freshly sources from the gardens to new ways to reuse or to repurpose common everyday items. “It’s like that DIY and life hack stuff Cater-san goes on about, ‘cept unlike him I had to learn all this stuff myself, not on Magicam,” as Ruggie describes it.
As an expert in Animal Languages, he's the first person the Heartslabyul students go to when they need help handling their hedgehogs and flamingos! Ruggie grumbles about lending his help for free at first, but he very quickly turns around and starts cozying up to the animals. (It later becomes very apparent why; some Heartslabyul students found him picking up eggs in the flamingo hutches with a sheepish grin.)
Speaking of food, there’s tons of good (and free!!) eats in the Heartslabyul gardens! You might catch Ruggie there picking up whatever looks edible and tossing them into a basket. (Admittedly, it has led to just many stomachaches and weird trips as it has to satisfyingly drowsy food comas, but it hasn’t stopped him from going back for more.) He also brings plastic containers to unbirthday parties to shovel uneaten food in for later. If there’s leftover tea bags or leaves (either is fine, he’s not picky), he’ll also save those to reuse.
“I used to think Heartslabyul would really cramp my style with all of its rules. They make no sense, no matter how you think about it!! But it’s actually not so bad here. Actually, it’s kinda cozy. Nice vibes, plenty of food and sweet, consistent stream of money… I don’t wanna be anywhere near that weirdo that’s always after my tail if I can help it, but for the most part… Nishishishi, I guess I could get used to livin’ this lifestyle!”

Hunter x Hunter: copium
imagine with me for a second that chrollo managed to return kortopi and shalnark's abilities before hisoka showed up.
this is your only warning: this is a long ass post
THINK ABOUT IT FOR A SECOND (coping so hard)
like idk where this mf went after the fight, but it would have been in chrollo's best interest to immediately return their abilities (more copium).
so let's just say he does (COPE). could Black Voice and Gallery Fake at their maximum potentials actually take hisoka down?
For one, we know that Shalnark has the secret Autopilot ability that he only uses in desperate situations. And that taps into an OBSCENE amount of aura being released all at once and for all argument's sake, it's basically super saiyan mode. Meaning he can probably fly.
For two, we don't (officially) know what Kortopi is capable of. But we know that guy has a reserve of aura that is capable of supplying copies of, lets assume, 200 rare items that have been taken all across the city (assumed 472 square miles). and they last for 24 hours. that isn't any kind of nen curse or condition, that is straight up just raw power.
am i thinking about this fight in detail? yes i am. am i going to actually write it? maybe!!
how i think it would play out logistically.
assuming hisoka doesn't know about autopilot, shalnark has the best opportunity to one shot the clown. however, depending on how fast hisoka is able to adapt to autopilot (going to refer to it as shark mode for the haha), it will cost shalnark.
if the fight gets drawn out, it could potentially kill him anyway. put him in nen debt so deep he will never financially recover.
that being said, shark mode can overpower bungee gum just like we saw it get overwhelmed in the fight with Razor: if the thing on the other end of the gum is stronger than the thing holding it (hisoka's arm), then hisoka will either lose that arm or disengage. That, or the sheer amount of aura will make it impossible for bungee gum to stick to anything. shark mode is definitely stronger than hisoka's bones.
Shalnark can set elimination targets but can he also include conditions? because shal has two win conditions: 'eliminate' hisoka, or stick him with the other needle. One is arguably easier than the other: so can he set shark mode to deactivate when one or the other is fulfilled or not? who knows.
Kortopi on the other hand shows hisoka up in quantity of aura big time. He's only held back by his need to use the toilet during this fight.
he doesn't have a lot of weapons in his immediate utility while out in the open, but he is still very much a utility. I discussed this in an earlier post, speculating about kortopi's bigger copies being able to be dragged and dropped wherever he pleases before conjuring, but say he could and bro just starts copy and pasting entire plots of land on top of hisoka.
And while kortopi doesn't have a lot in terms of physical strength, assuming he's been trained like the rest of the troupe, he knows how to utilize the basic concepts and could probably survive a hisoka punch directly to the face if he used Ken. Because again, Kortopi has an absolutely insane amount of aura.
i also enjoy the idea of kortopi using a broken iron fence post and using it as a super charged javelin. i just think thats funky~~
he can also cancel bungee gum placements if it is attached to any of his copies. He has baggy enough clothes that if hisoka attaches to it, he has more than enough 'armor' to duplicate and then throw away.
on top of that, kortopi can copy shalnark's antenna using his own aura, which means it costs shalnark nothing, and disguise fakes to try and fool hisoka. it might work once but it could buy them time/warm up the fight.
that being said. this is a lot of assumptions and there are two ways hisoka clean sweeps shalnark. with kortopi i think he might actually struggle, just because of kortopi's proficiency at conjuration. he only outclasses kortopi in the field of experience and physical strength. With shalnark though, there's two ways to get rid of shark mode: remove the antenna from shalnark's body or destroy his phone.
Hisoka probably knows this because he's had experience with manipulators and if he's observant enough, he'll pick up on it immediately. The main question is, could his gum actually get through the aura barrier to attach to the antenna or phone. If yes, he wins as soon as he attaches gum to the antenna.
The phone is a harder question because we don't know if shalnark has to be holding it or not to activate shark mode. This isn't a question i thought i'd ask but im asking it now for the sake of the plot of this fight.
it would be an interesting restriction: "i have to hold my phone while in this mode" H O W E V E R i think shalnark is smart enough to consider that sometimes shark mode will overstay its welcome and end up with him in a nen debt. so i think he has an override installed on the device so someone else can shut him down if he goes for too long. It's a risk and a reward. so in this scenario i think he doesn't hold the phone at all and instead hands it off to Chrollo who is there because he just returned their powers to them.
which is a very big risk. because hisoka then has an opening to circle back and snatch the phone from chrollo and destroy it, cancelling shalnark's entire game plan, but i think he'll be thoroughly distracted for at least a while.
i just think it would be interesting. and hisoka is a changed man now, he wouldn't get any schwing out of fighting them because he's so dead set on making chrollo suffer for killing him.
who would win? that depends on a lot of things. Shark mode has a warm up timer and kortopi has to defend them both in the 1.5 seconds that takes. if hisoka successfully slashes shal in that time frame, then yeah. kortopi has to 1v1 hisoka and will probably lose purely because of their surroundings.
but, if they're all running at maximum capacity then my money is on autopilot shalnark. Bro outpaces, out punches and out aura's hisoka in every field. There is no escape. Unless chrollo presses the (not canon but canon because i said so) override, then shalnark will chase that motherfucker to the ends of the earth until he dies.
i think it will cost shalnark his life if he does win. but it's worth it and much more satisfying than if he'd been completely defenseless cough togashi COUGH TOGASHI YOU DIDNT HAVE TO DO THAT TO HIM. COUGH COUGH.
and kortopi gets to live.

7 Skills to Become Proficient in Logistics
If you want to become a proficient logistics personnel, here are seven vital skills that you need to acquire first:
1. Supply Chain Management: A good comprehension of supply chain management is a prerequisite for successful careers in logistics. This ability entails managing the transit of commodities, information, and funds from the point of origin to the point of consumption. Good supply chain management necessitates excellent coordination, handling of inventory, and the capacity to improve procedures.
2.  Critical Thinking: Daily, logistics personnel face various challenges, including delays, transportation concerns, and inventory anomalies. It is necessary to have strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve these challenges quickly. Logistics specialists skilled at analyzing complex scenarios, identifying fundamental causes, and developing innovative solutions that reduce interruptions and maintain an uninterrupted flow of commodities across the supply chain are in high demand.
3.  Data Analysis and Technology: Data analysis and technology have become essential in logistics in this digital age. Professionals must be prepared to evaluate vast volumes of data, detect patterns, and use technology to enhance logistical procedures. It is critical to be familiar with logistics applications, transportation management infrastructure, and data analytics tools to make educated decisions, improve efficiency, and improve the overall performance of the supply chain.
4.   Communication and Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential in logistics. Logistics workers must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with suppliers, vendors, warehouse staff, and delivery partners. They must also be skilled in relationship development and maintenance, contract negotiation, and dispute resolution.
5.  Time Management: Time management and organization are vital in the fast-paced logistics business. Professionals must be skilled in prioritizing activities, setting timetables, and managing many projects simultaneously. Shipments are delivered on schedule, inventory is correctly handled, and deadlines are met with effective time management.
6.  Financial Acumen: Logistics professionals must know the financial consequences of their decisions and activities. Budgeting, cost analysis, and comprehending key performance indicators are all examples of financial aptitude. Competent individuals can contribute to the company's financial well-being by monitoring spending, discovering cost-saving options, and streamlining logistical procedures.
7.  Flexibility: Logistics workers must be agile and versatile in an ever-changing sector. This skill enables employees to adjust promptly to changing marketplace dynamics, technology breakthroughs, and client needs.

Note
can shay and cat swim
scary question knowing you!!
ummm. yes probably. i haven’t really fully thought about it yet. they could def… wade. out of the two of them shay feels more the swimmy type but logistically cat would have to be better at it (crossing rivers with cattle requires at least basic swimming proficiency, if you were to fall off or have to get into the water for any reason)

Without the CMV-22, the U.S. Navy needs 15 former C-2A to carry out missions aboard the aircraft carriers
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 02/20/2024 - 20:58in Military
The uncertainty of the return of the tiltrotor V-22 to full operation is leading the U.S. Navy to rethink its plans on how to refuel its aircraft carrier fleet in the short term, with more uncertainty in the long term, and the remaining C-2A Greyhounds become essential.
The service had initially planned to retire its remaining 15 C-2A Greyhound onboard delivery (COD) aircraft in the next two years and replace them with a total of 38 CMV-22B Ospreys, which DOT&E reported "not to be operationally adequate".
“For the luck of the Navy, the C-2 Greyhound is still available,” said Vice Admiral Air Boss Daniel Cheever at a panel at the WEST 2024 conference, co-organized by the U.S. Naval Institute and the AFCEA. "Limited operational impacts at this time, but there are still operational impacts. And when you look to the future, there are significant operational impacts."
Tumblr media
As part of the Greyhounds' planned retirement, the U.S. Navy stopped training new C-2 pilots and began to reduce spare parts and logistical support for the 60-year project.
This transition, completed on the West Coast, is now paralyzed with the grounding of the V-22 in the U.S. Marines, Navy and Air Force after the fall of a USAF Special Operations MV-22 off the coast of Japan late last year.
The grounding of the Ospreys has already been out of operation for 75 days, with no indication of how long the grounding can continue.

The suspension of operation of the tiltrotors forced the U.S. Navy to exchange the V-22 aboard the West Coast aircraft carriers USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) for the C-2As of the East Coast Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40, the "Rawhides".
"The VRC-40 is currently emerging to fulfill the mission [COD] for aircraft carriers deployed in the 5ª and 7ª U.S. Fleets," says a statement from the Naval Air Forces. "There was no change in the planned retirement of C-2A for 2026."
Although there is still no change in the plan for the C-2, there is little indication of any of the forces for how long the V-22 will be able to remain out of service. After the initial grounding of the fleet, there was very limited information about the underlying cause of the grounding, in addition to a "potential material failure".
For the Marines, the situation is more terrible, said Lieutenant Karsten Heckl during the panel. He said that the operations of the 31ª Marine Expeditionary Unit based in Japan, the 26º MEU deployed in the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and the 15º MEU that is preparing to be deployed aboard the Boxer ARG had "dramatic impacts".

Navy officers said that Marines are allowed to use Ospreys deployed aboard the Bataan ARG in specific emergency situations. A main mission of the 26º MEU, currently deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean, is the evacuation of non-combatants from Lebanon.
Last month, the Assistant Commander of the Marine Corps, General Chris Mahoney, said that the Force risks losing proficiency with the aircraft the longer it stays on the ground.
"At some point, if a pilot does not fly, if a maintainer does not turn a wrench, if an observer or crew chief is not exercising his profession, this will become a matter of competence and then there will be a matter of safety," he said.

@jelloapocalypse I have a question regarding GMing an Anime Campaign. Do you think a 4v4 (as in 4 players vs 4 other players) combat is logistically feasible? And if so, do you have any advice on how to make that as fun and smooth as possible as a GM? My vision is to have every player at 50 proficiency (kinda like how some Pokemon game modes set all your Pokemon to level 50) and promote lots of collaboration and comboing between players who are on the same team. It's completely removed from any lore, just a fun experiment I want to try with my players and other friends who are involved with my campaign.

Medieval Strategy Roleplaying
Medieval Strategy Roleplaying, Jeeves Stackson Games, 1987
In the 80s there was a big push toward more and more "realistic" RPGs, with rules that modeled real-world physics. Occasionally they'd even push into more realistic other things, but honestly a lot of early the game designers were engineers or historical recreationists and there wasn't a lot of consideration for logistics, social structures, or icky girl stuff like emotions.
Medieval Strategy Roleplaying (MSR) is the Phoenix Command of fantasy games. It's like someone took the chargen from Hero and some extra random rolls from Traveller, brought in the calculator-required core mechanics from Enforcers and the excess side-rolls of Rolemaster, adapted some optional rules from GURPS and Space Opera, and stacked in an early version of Burning Wheel's BITS system, all with the opaque writing of AD&D 1e's psionics.
Characters are defined by the six standard attributes, plus Willpower and Perception. You get non-weapon proficiencies and "perks" based on those and some random background rolls. You will end up with a unique, highly detailed character that you can play for all nine character levels that are provided in great detail for the 16 classes (all non-magical). However, you will never get to do anything with them, because it would take you 8-12 hours just for chargen. And honestly, that's ok, because then you'd have to deal with the combat rules.
Combat is, of course, a multi-step process. Initiative is recalculated every round based on weapon speed, current mental state, injury level (yay death spirals!), and your character's strength/mass ratio. Rolls are mostly 1d20 roll-under, with modifiers possible for both the roll and the target number. There are separate critical hit tables for puncture, slash, bludgeon, unarmed, and polearm, all broken down by hit location. Of course you roll hit location, what kind of game do you think this is? You've got the possibility of dodging, parrying, or blocking (shield), potentially more than one though you take a penalty for multiple defensive actions that's separate from but compounds with a penalty for multi-attacks.
If you'd like to create a custom weapon, you can do that! All you need is the density of the materials, formulas for moment of inertia and the parallel axis theorem, and hey wait where are you going? I didn't even get into the 15 pages of grappling rules!
There are virtually no non-combat rules. Those that exist are mostly around military matters - logistics, scouting, and sapping. Get ready to calculate the cube root of the amount of explosives you brought in, or the square root in certain cases depending on the geometry of your surroundings. Your character has emotional attributes like who they care about protecting and who they'd defend rated on a 1-7 scale, and they affect nothing but combat.
What's the setting? Medieval Europe. Ready go. No other details are given. This is slightly more forgivable these days, when Wikipedia exists, than it was in 1987 when you'd have to borrow history books from the library.
As you might guess, there is no Jeeves Stackson. MSR's author remains anonymous. The game has been out of publication since just after its first print run. You can find a few unsold copies sitting in ancient game stores and some practically unused copies in the "used books" part of Goodwill.
