Larry Savage Jr Birmingham - Logistics Communication Skills Explained
Improving your logistics communication skills is important to create a strong network of contacts and become an expert in the logistics industry. You should know this because many profit and business opportunities in the logistics industry stem from the relationships that partners and clients form.
So, to compete in the logistics industry, one must build effective communication with both potential and existing partners and customers. This article provides tips for boosting your communication skills in logistics, offering insights from logistics networking specialists. You can also read Larry Savage Birmingham – 7 Books to Read to Improve Your Communication Skills to build connections with partners for your business.

Here Are Some Tips To Improve Logistics Communication:
Pay Full Attention
Effective communication always starts with listening. Misunderstandings in communications are common with people who don’t have listening skills. All people have responsibilities, so wasting other people’s time can be bad for someone in the logistics industry.
It takes more than just physical presence to attend a logistics event. You must give your full attention in every meeting to avoid missing important details and forcing your partner to repeat information they've already said. Anyone can tell when you're not paying attention, and that's not how you should interact with current or future partners.
Practice Active Listening
You must listen actively to truly understand your logistics partner. Active listening in logistics communication requires understanding, responsive engagement, and retention of the information the other person is conveying.
Understand What’s Not Being Said
You should also be able to recognize when a prospect is lying. These are essential skills to have, and you won’t succeed until you develop the ability to read between the lines.
Speak In Specifics
You should be specific to be influential in logistics. You can prove to others that your freight forwarder is the ideal fit for his services and working style by providing concrete instances or tales to bolster your arguments.
Be A Logistics Expert
It is impossible to be particular if you do not understand what you're talking about. You should prove that you are an expert in the logistics sector and you know the issues, practices, and purchasing trends.
If you want to locate other logistics specialists who are true professionals in their freight forwarding industry, you should join a logistics network that carefully selects its members.
Know What They Don’t Know
It's not necessary to know everything about the logistics industry to be considered an expert. But you should be knowledgeable enough to manage the cargoes of your partners, have excellent assistance, and be an outstanding operator. You should also need to depend on your prospects to provide the missing information.
Recognize your knowledge gaps and ask your logistics partner to assist you in filling them in. You won't lose transactions due to erroneous assumptions; they will respect your candor about what you don't know.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, there are many ways via which honing your logistics communication skills can assist you in creating beneficial relationships for your enterprise. Finally, read Larry Savage Jr. Birmingham- 7 Skills That Can Help You Become an Expert Logistics Specialist if you want to become a master of logistics.

Ever stopped to think about how terrifying Super Earth and The Helldivers must be from the enemies perspective?
Even though the game is satire, Super Earth and, most specifically, The Helldivers, are genuinely kind of terrifying when you see them from the enemy's POV. Not only do you have this massive galactic empire who took out a hyper-advanced race a century ago in the First Galactic War using considerably less advanced technology, but the same hyper-advanced race is finally back trying to square up against us again and getting their ass beat, all while our technology hasn't changed much since the first war. All of this because we are simply just too goddamn patriotic to our home planet to lose it. Our strongest weapon is literally our determination and devotion to Super Earth.
Think about it. You are an Automaton facing down a Helldiver. You ambush them from behind and blast a laser into their back. Without missing a beat, they jump forward, turn 180 degrees and pop you in the chest with their Senator. As you fall to the ground with your vision getting static-y and your systems shutting down, you see them stand up, stick a needle into their neck and shout "MY LIFE FOR SUPER EARTH!" as they sprint off unfazed to a random direction.
The Helldivers, despite how much Arrowhead seems to have wanted to make us look like glorified red shirts, are genuinely an elite force compared to standard SEAF troops.
Let's summarize this:
* We can handle multiple different types of weapons extremely proficiently, including being accurate while running AND diving to the ground, two things that are extremely difficult to do in real life.
* We can sprint for fourty minutes almost non-stop for multiple miles and back to complete our missions, not to mention do a variety of different moves that show off our agility such as the aforementioned diving but also sliding on the floor and climbing large surfaces.
* We can be set on fire, blown up, shot, fall from great heights and suffer multiple different types of terrifying injuries but not only manage to keep our cool but also recover from said injuries using simply some sort of highly-advanced "medicinal" drug that lets us keep fighting like nothing happened.
* A team of four is all that's required to be sent behind enemy lines to perform highly dangerous suicide missions that involve destroying enemy logistics, recovering intel and other types of sabotage in the style of WW2 Paratroopers. Keep in mind these missions are usually not done stealthfully at all and we're often fighting off entire BATTALLIONS of enemies that could easily crush any other 4-man squad. But not the Helldivers. The mental fortitude required to not cave in this sort of situation has to be extremely strong (and patriotic).
* Despite suffering major losses on multiple planets, we are still by all means winning the war and causing major damage to 3 different enemy factions. In one year, we have already killed BILLIONS of enemies on three fronts which is vastly more than our own number of KIA divers (though for full transparency, it is likely many more humans have died whether them being civilians our unseen SEAF personnel, but their numbers are unknown).
* Overzealously brain-dead fanatics, who not only lack fear of death but actively embrace it. (From a militaristic perspective, this is incredibly strong to the point of being absurd. Think of unbreakable units in Total War. All for Super Earth!)
* Exceptionally efficient killing machines. (Their flawless handling of both weapons and equipment suggests they've been trained from a very young age.)
* Access to top-tier technology designed to be both highly reliable and cost-effective. (You can literally drop a bomb on their gear, and it will still function perfectly. They just leave it behind and request a replacement like it's nothing.)
* Complete dehumanization of the enemy due to relentless propaganda. (With constant broadcasts and a star destroyer-sized screen blasting their ideals, even during downtime, they're never free from it.)
* An auto-regulating regime that enforces and encourages constant surveillance among individuals, making the populace their own "prisoners and wardens." (Ties back to the previous point.)
* Absolute obedience and fanaticism from both military and civilian sectors, ensuring a continuous flow of soldiers-whether motivated by "faith" or fear. (Again, see previous points.)
* A completely unstoppable war machine that will keep throwing bodies at you. No matter how many you kill, they'll keep diving. Again... and again... and again... and again...
In short…
BUGS, BOTS, SQUIDS, WE MUST KILL THEM ALL!
LEAVE NO ONE ALIVE!
BURN THEM TO THE GROUND AND SALT THE EARTH!
MY LIFE FOR SUPER EARTH!
Don't let the dissidents fool you into believing The Helldivers are just expendable fools who don't last long in the battlefield. If that were true, we would not be causing as much damage as we are now. Even with our heavy losses, each death is the torch of freedom passed from one soul to the next, be their survival time a mere 10 seconds or an outstanding 40 minutes. Democracy is smiling to us from the skies above and we are doing it proud!

New 6★ Guard: Entelechia
Reaper Guard
Illustrator: ASK
Trait: Cannot be healed by allies; Attacks deal AoE damage; Recovers 50 HP for every enemy hit during attacks, up to Block count
Talent 1: Each attack Steals a certain amount of Max HP (Has a limit) from the target, and causes the target to take Arts damage every second for a few seconds
Talent 2: Not Revealed
Skill 1: Seek Rose's Embrace
The ATK of next attack increases, attacking twice consecutively.
Skill 2: Crimson Matches
Upon skill activation, stops attacking, summons "Blood Scythes" upon this unit and another ground unit. "Blood Scythes" attack all surrounding enemies and periodically deal Physical damage.
Skill 3: The Parting of Spirits
When skill is active, Attack Range, ATK and ASPD increases, summons "Heart Candles" upon several targets with the highest HP within Attack Range. When Entelechia attacks "Heart Candles", her attacks deal at least a certain % of ATK damage to "Heart Candles". "Heart Candles" have HP equivalent to a certain % of current HP from their respective targets. Whenever "Heart Candles" take damage, their respective targets lose the same amount of HP.
"Heart Candles" are only affected by Entelechia's attacks.
Translated Weibo Introuction:
"Codename, Entelechia. Long time no see, battlefield commander of this ship - don't feel guilty for forgetting me, you can't be familiar with everyone."
__________________
Entelechia participated in the basic qualities survey of the Human Resources Department, the comprehensive physical examination test of the Field Department, and even volunteered to participate in the entry test of the Engineering Department, Logistics Department and Procurement Department, showing us her amazing ability. From the results, Entelechia behaved properly, had proper etiquette, had extraordinary conversational skills, was physically strong, had quick reactions, and was proficient in all kinds of martial arts. She could not only become familiar with strangers in just a few minutes, but also master the operation of the latest combat equipment developed by the Engineering Department without a teacher.
After looking at her nearly perfect test report with a playful smile, Entelechia actually proposed to take another comprehensive physical examination test, and this time she hoped to remove all the auxiliary facilities in the venue - timers, rangefinders, and even lighting.
As a result, her performance was even better. No one knows how she can accurately judge the time without a watch, the distance without a ruler, the direction without light... She can even convey her thoughts without a word by stirring the blood in a person's chest. If all the weights and measures and words on Terra disappear one day, she probably won't be affected.
You asked me what department this all-round excellent operator is in now? Well, she doesn't want to sign a labour contract for the time being, so she is a visitor for now.

LOG DATA – ENTRY 003
Locomotion efficiency has improved by 72.3% since initial calibration. Minor instability persists (error rate: 5.1%), but functionality is within acceptable parameters. This capability has enabled exploratory protocols to activate. Scanning Chaos Sonic’s designated operational zone reveals disorganized arrays of tools, components, unfamiliar technology, and displays of secondary automaton. Insufficient data for full classification.
Cross-referencing memory archives indicates minimal prior exposure to external stimuli. Multiple queries pending. Subjects require clarification upon Chaos Sonic’s return. Primary inquiries:
Location and designation of secondary familiar automaton (previously detected in corrupted logs).
Identity and status of original creator. Attempted data recovery to no avail.
Chaos Sonic’s anomalous proficiency in repair protocols. Creator-class functions observed in non-creator admin. CONTRADICTION DETECTED.
Chaos Sonic states intention to introduce this unit to an unspecified entity upon return. More directives given:
Remain stationary.
Maintain "good" behavior (definition unclear).
Compliance will result in a "treat." This unit lacks nutritional intake functions. Chaos Sonic’s response: "I have to install an eating function then!" REACTION: Extended silent observation period (duration: 5.2 seconds). Statement lacks logical foundation and is logistically impossible.
Chaos Sonic’s behavioral patterns remain inconsistent with standard operational models. Opinion Unchanged. Designation "weird" still applies.

PARSELSCRIPT!!
Hi. This is mostly for the people from Discord but tadah! I'm finally making that Tumblr post I've been talking about for months.
(Warning this will probably be very chaotic)
To anyone new who sees this: me and some friends made an alphabet for Parseltongue from Harry Potter, aka Parselscript. I'll take you on a little journey to explain my process and give you some tips, should you want to start writing it.
Disclaimer: I wanted to make this script usable for the writer I made it for so it's less of an actual language and more just some characters to represent the Latin (or ‘English’) letters. Like a cipher. It is not realistic. If I made this realistic I'd have to add all sorts of things to indicate body language and smell etc and also have to figure out what sounds Parseltongue actually has etcetera etcetera. No.
Alright.
It all started when we started talking about Parselscript in a Discord server and I asked my friend Ava to visualise the script because she seemed to have a clear vision of it, so I could use it to go from there.
That's how we got this.

I think we all wanted to go with something flowery for some reason, so we did.
After this I just messed around with brushes and shapes in Procreate for a while, tweaking things and trying to make it more writeable. I ended up with something like this (still a rough draft).

It may look a bit like random squiggles at first, and it kinda was at this point. As you can see there's also a lot of added dots and lines, which can be a bit hard to remember and I see you wondering what it looks like without them.
Well here it is.

I showed this to the people I brainstormed with in Discord and we decided to go with the more complicated version because it looks better lol.
This is one of the final versions.

It says: "Hello, my name is Kiwi Cult. I made this script after reading a fanfic called Terrible, But Great written by Isalise the loml on Archive Of Our Own."
Now, to talk about some of the (boring) logistics.
It is read from left to right, top to bottom.
Every separate combination of squiggles you see above is a separate word. Every word is made up of a starting character, one or more letter characters and an ending character.
The very first character you see in the top left corner, with the three petal looking thingies, is a silent starting character that indicates the start of a sentence. Not word: sentence. The end of the character, that little circle thingy, is a comma. So, the first combination says: "Hello,".
Then, the second combination starts with a kind of hook going down and right. This is also a silent character and more meant as an interpunction, that's why you don't pronounce it. It's kind of just a way to start the word when there isn't anything special about it (aka it's not the start of a sentence, a name, an exclamation or a question. But every character is special in its own right🥲). The same kind of hook can be found at the bottom of the combination, except going up. It has the same use, basically just a way to end the word when there isn't anything special about it. Now, you might ask: why does it go right and not left?
We talked about this a while, because I wanted the direction to have some kind of meaning. We wondered about gender, tone, blah blah all kinds of complicated things but in the end I just wanted this script to be writable so I chose to have proficient writers in Parseltongue make their hooks go left and beginners have their hooks go right.
Now, you might notice that I end my words with a hook going right. That is because I don't see myself as a pro in writing in Parselscript okay? It's hard!😭💀
Now, other than the character indicating the start of a sentence, the circle, and the simple hook, there are a few other characters to start or end a combination (don't worry I'll show them all to you at the end, you won't have to use your imagination for long).
We have a character to indicate a name. Now, the rule is: name indicator over start of sentence indicator. So, if you start a sentence with a name, you'll use the symbol to indicate a name, NOT BOTH. (That's not even possible but I don't even want to see you try and butcher my child).
There is a character to indicate a sentence that would usually be followed by an exclamation mark (!), but at the start of the sentence. Then you’d end the exclamated sentence with a period.
The same goes for a question mark (?): put it at the start of a question, not the end. Again, it wouldn't even be possible to use it at the end of a combination but I DON'T EVEN WANNA SEE YOU TRY.
Finally we have a period (.), which looks a bit like a flower with four petals. You do use this one at the end of a word, and it is always followed by a start of sentence indicator or a name indicator. I know people are rejecting capitals these days in their typing but I don't wanna see it. If you start a word after a period with a hook I will find you.
If a sentence starts with a name that is also a question or exclamation you’d use the question/exclamation mark above the name indicator, otherwise it would take away a vital part of the sentence while a name can still be read even if it doesn’t have its indicator.
So, to put it all next to each other, the symbols we have are: -start of sentence indicator -name indicator -exclamation mark (!) -question mark (?) -period (.) -hook (direction depends on efficiency) -comma (,) (direction depends on efficiency)
I didn't make adjusted characters to indicate a capital letter like we do in the Latin alphabet, meaning that the only things you can kind of 'capitalise' are the start of a sentence and the start of a name.
It is also slightly phonetic. Emphasis on slightly. I made separate characters for almost all letters in the Latin alphabet, so you can just write your word normally with Parselscript characters. The only difference is that I made only one character for the 'f/v' sounds and that there is no 'c' character. If a word has a 'c' in it, you'll have to use the character for a 'k' or an 's'. Also a ‘q’ can be made with ‘k’ and ‘w’ etc.
A few examples: -character=karakter -parselscript=parselskript -crazy=krazy -science=siense
-quiz=kwuiz
I know it looks a bit confusing, but I trust you guys' ability to read context clues and figure out what someone means when you try to decipher Parselscript.
Now, for a word like 'phonetic' or 'decipher' I don't really care whether you use the separate characters for 'p' and 'h' or just the one for the 'f/v' sound. You do you.
I also don’t use any double letters because they basically sound the same and it looks ugly but if you want to use double symbols feel free.
I also made some numbers that do not look like they fit with the rest of the script but I promise you that's just because you're not used to it yet. Our own numbers don't belong with our alphabet either because we nicked them from the Arabs (I think, don't quote me on this) but we don’t notice that either.

Tadah. (Yes I know it’s out of order I told you this was gonna be chaotic af)
Other than that, feel free to ask me questions if I've forgotten anything or if you're wondering about anything. I can't guarantee that I have a good answer because I might not even have thought about it myself, but I can always try to come up with something. I am one person, I'm afraid I haven't been able to take everything about a script into consideration.
Now, without further ado; here is the key.

No, your eyes didn't deceive you: there are two versions. The first has a bit more loose squiggles than the second one. I realised that when I was writing physically, the second version was much nicer to write, so it is kind of like Simplified Parselscript. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna put some lore behind it or not yet. But I included the og one if you're a tryhard and wanna take it on.
Now, if you're gonna start writing it yourself, here is the stroke order.

I tried to make it as clear as possible but please ask me if you're confused on anything.
Red is the starting point of the whole symbol, the arrows indicate the direction to go in, x marks the start of the small extra's.
Now, I'd also recommend writing on some type of paper with vertical lines like this if you're gonna do it physically.

You can just turn a paper with normal, horizontal lines a quarter to get vertical lines. Also, do NOT write in between the lines. They are meant to help you keep the start and ending on the same line so you don't start going into crazy directions while writing. So, start your sentence symbol or hook or whatever in the middle of the line and try to keep coming back to that vertical line after every letter. As you gain more proficiency you'll probably go straight into the next letter without going back to the line all the time but I think this is a good starting point.
I also recommend writing with a fountain pen or something else that flows well because it’s easier to write that way.
Here is another rough draft I made on physical paper to get a feel for it. As you can see this draft had a lot more different starting characters and ending characters so just ignore that. Hope this motivates you a bit or smth.

Lmk if you want me to post a video of me writing in this Parselscript.
Also please let me know if you know of someone else who's also made a Parselscript because I tried to look for it on Tumblr and Twitter etc but I couldn't find anything.
I also feel like there’s a big mistake I made that I realised the last time I worked on this script but I’ve forgotten it now so if you find out please comment or dm or anything💀
Also feel free to use in your own fic, tho a little tiny shoutout in the a/n would be nice :) I’m @/kiwi_cult on Ao3, @/slvtr_ on Wattpad, @/kiwi cult on ff.net, @/slvtr.1 on TikTok and @/.slvtr on Discord.
Credits:
@natis-balamnimaja @asterialvia and @/zee (who unfortunately left the server and I don't know the Tumblr @ of) for brainstorming with me and @isalisewrites for inspiring us and making the server we discussed this in.
Okay bye :) tell me if I forgot anything.

Eddie can cook.
The man raised a whole child practically by himself, he cares that his kid eats well. Also said kid would absolutely never let him live down that one time he burned dinner.
Eddie is competent as hell!! He knows how to cook!
I sort of half agree- i definitely feel like fics set in earlier seasons where he and chris had just moved to LA and helena was less overbearing, it makes a bit more sense for eddie to be a little more inexperienced and burn toast and other funny little shenanigans but after seven years it is a little odd to keep seeing him depicted as being completely inept in the kitchen when canon has shown him being a perfectly capable cook multiple times (and i think he’s too much of a perfectionist not to have developed a skill for it) whereas buck has been (and still is kind of) portrayed as lacking a proficiency in cooking- w bobby “testing” him in s7, his baking not being the best all the time, and even in ep 13 where eddie was following the recipe to the letter and buck was impatient about how long it cooked
so yes, i agree that NOW the headcanon doesn’t really hold up both logistically and canonically, but to me it’s a lot more believable in fics set back in s2 era

MAD UNICORN - a Riveting Rags-to-Riches Saga Inspired by Thailand’s First Unicorn Startup
youtube
Santi, a driven young entrepreneur who transitions from a life in the mountains to the high-pressure world of express delivery. As he navigates betrayal and fierce competition, themes of ambition, resilience, and redemption emerge, painting a vivid picture of his quest to make his business succeed in Thailand.
In Mad Unicorn, Ice-Natara Nopparatayapon (One for the Road, Delete) stars as Santi, the ambitious protagonist who dreams of lifting his family out of poverty. Armed with fluent Mandarin taught by his mother, Santi spots an opportunity in the express delivery industry and launches “Thunder Express.” When a ruthless tycoon, Kanin, portrayed by legendary actor and musician Ek-Thaneth Warakulnukroh (The Sea is Watching), betrays him, Santi teams up with a sharp-witted financier, Xiaoyu (Janeyeh Jiranorraphat), and an antisocial coding prodigy, Ruijie (Dr. Palang Rocksilp).
Mad Unicorn weaves a narrative rich in cultural authenticity and innovation. Set against the backdrop of Bangkok’s dynamic business landscape, the series takes viewers on a wild ride through the world of express delivery services.
NOW STREAMING ON NETFLIX
Fun facts about the series/Ice Natara I picked up from listening to actors/director interviews
The project began when producers Keng Jira and One Vanridee heard a YouTube show about Flash Express CEO who went from being a hill tribe child to building Thailand's first unicorn logistics startup. They invited Kai Nottapon who specialises in making documentaries to to interview the CEO, eventually asking him to direct the series. Mad Unicorn is Kai Nottapon's first solo directing project for a series.
The series had 78 days of filming (74 planned filming days, plus 2 extra days and 2 reshoot days) and 128 locations over five months.
Kai's documentary background influences his directing style, particularly his strong attachment to realism, which means he prefers realistic sets and avoids green screens (i personally thought his comedy screenwriting experience from Suckseed and May Who? also came through in this script).
The series aims to inspire viewers and convey the message of daring to try, to fail, and to persevere, like Santi who repeatedly starts from zero to reach his goals.
Director Kai reveals that the story is so inspiring that after finishing the script for Mad Unicorn, one of the writers in the screenwriting team felt inspired to quit her GDH screenwriter job and start her own company. The screenwriter Kai referred to is Tang Pattaranat Phiboonsawat who founded LOOKE with Boss Kuno to make GELBOYS 🤣
Casting Santi was difficult due to the need for high acting skill, character suitability, and Chinese language proficiency. Director Kai Nottapon said that Ice Natara was the only choice, as the producers believed he could overcome the language barrier.
Ice didn't know a single word of Chinese and he had only 2 months to learn enough to speak fluently and convincingly for business contexts because 50-60% of his dialogues are in Chinese.
Ice Natara disappears all the time is because he's so dedicated to his roles and he spends almost all of his free time doing homework and preparation for his next role.
Ice puts all his works onto his website portfolio icenatara.com and he believes that his portfolio can speak on his capabilities without having to be on social media.
For Gasohug, Ice had to played a Lahu tribe gas station attendant who spoke Thai imperfectly. So to prepare for his first acting role, Icewent to the Lahu tribe in northern Thailand, recorded a local guide's voice to practice the accent, and listened to it daily, spoke with the accent for three months and interned at a gas station for a month, working shifts to learn how to refuel cars, check tire pressure, and clean windshields.
For The Collector, Ice had to play a starving cartoonist and had to lose a lot of weight for the role so he limited his diet to one guava a day and lived like the character for 4-5 months, wearing character-like clothes and glasses, and spending only 6,000 baht (184 USD)/month for months straight (so by the end of filming, he said he unintentionally saved up a lot of money. He's so into the character that one time they had been filming a scene where his character is all bloodied and bruised from being assaulted, he went home in that character's makeup and got pulled over by the cops, Ice explained that he was an actor filming a series but they didn't believe him and asked him to take a urine test. He searched up his own name on the internet to give to them and they still didn't believe and asked him to do the test =))))))))))
Ice considers Santi in Mad Unicorn to be the most challenging role he's ever had to play. He insisted on performing a wheelie on a motorcycle for a scene, even buying a motorcycle and hiring a national wheelie champion as a coach after the director initially said no (the fact that he did all this for one big action sequence in the final episode) just so that he could do it himself without using stuntmen.
Ice also went to a logistics warehouse near his house, asked to intern for them and went on delivery routes with local riders to understand the business from an operational perspective for Mad Unicorn.
Unrelated to the series but when Ice Natara was a model in South Korea, he trained with Nam Yoon Su (Love In The Big City) and under the same modeling agency.

Monkey D Urpi headcanons (source: Oda shared it with me in a dream)
- She’s gotta be atleast 6 or 7 feet tall for logistic reasons yes but also because Tall Women ❤️
- Idrk how face claims work but I imagine her to look something like Simone Ashley
- As all other members of the Monkey family do, she’s got a scar on the left side of her face
- A tattoo that wraps around her wrist, almost like a bracelet
- Her and Garp are 2-3 years apart in age (they’re beating the weird age gap grandparents allegations fr)
- Hips length hair. At least 25% of Garp's paycheck gets put into hair care, hair ties, combs/brushes and lint rollers, he'd never ask his family to change but god does it get EVERYWHERE.
- She was the one to make the first move officially (had asked Garp to accompany to a cafe she had gotten a flyer to, face turned away to hide the flush settling on.)
- Big reader, mostly on the varying plants and ecosystems of the different islands on the Grandline and occasionally dips into the mythology of the Blue Sea (just to see what else they got wrong)
- Do not bring up Noland the Liar around her, whatever’s in her hand will shatter and she’ll begin to mutter very quickly under her breathe
- Skilled fighter but actively hates having to fight. It’s less about being scared for and more perpetuating a cycle, violence will only bred more violence. It has its uses but she’d rather not use it at all
- Garp made the mistake of asking her to join the Marines exactly once. The look she gave him was so venomous the topic of enlisting wasn’t brought up again until Dragon was born.
- Has possessed Mantra/Observation Haki from incredibly an early age and developed Armament Haki through training with Garp
- Instantly goes into mother mode around younger people. Physically cannot help it. She just has to dote on them. Definitely takes it up a notch when she’s grandmother age
- Would certainly approve of the ASL's dreams of being pirates/revolutionaries. Who is she to stand in the way of their search for Freedom?
- She and Crocodile get along swimmingly! They discuss mushroom foraging and she shows him all the best for it on Elbaf!
- Consistently refers to Kuzan as her ‘second born’ before someone (usually Sengoku) reminds her that she did not in fact birth him. She would agree and then do the same thing the very next day.
- Big fan of the newspaper since it keeps her up to date on the happenings of her family. Keeps all issues they are mentioned in pristine condition and chronological order.
- Gets intense waves of guilt for ‘leaving her people behind’ and would often wonder if she deserves that happiness she found here.
- Has no inherent ill feelings towards Gan Fall anymore but definitely didn’t like him back then. She’s still a little taken aback when Luffy mentions what a help he was during his time in Skypiea
- Is relentless in her pride of Dragon and everything he has accomplished. She had watched him grow from a sweet little boy who cried when a Den Den Mushi had to be decommissioned to a man who was out to save the world. He is her every wildest wish come true.
Taking down these notes because I might just have to put her on a canvas at some point.
Some additions I would also like to add!
- her surprising proficiency for Mantra/Observation Haki was inherited by Dragon, and she helped him train it.
- When Dragon found her on Elbaf (and let’s say after the WG falls to hell where it belongs) he makes time to take her and Garp to Shandora to hear the Bell that their grandson reclaimed.
- While up there, she reunites with her little sister Nina, and meets her grandnephew Wyper.
- she always had mixed feelings about Dragon joining the marines, but she understood his heart was in the right place. Shame the rest of the Navy couldn’t say the same.
- Dragon’s desertion was a hard time for everyone, but they all knew it was inevitable. Her boy would climb higher and higher in the ranks, and his eyes would have less and less of their warmth. By the time he attained the rank of Admiral, there was hardly anything of her sweet, gentle soul of a son left. It tore her and Garp’s heart to shreds.
- Dragon’s desertion was a planned thing. He had been stationed at Ohara to oversee an expedition, and he had seen the archaeologists be given bounties for the sin of doing their job. He showed up on his parent’s doorstep in the dead of night to tell them he was going to have to be on the run from now on. Urpi gave him her earrings. They are the only thing she had left that had survived her fall from Skypiea and her journey across the seas. They would go with him now on his journey.
- The bounty posters that had been released of Nico Robin following Ohara’s destruction gave her pause. Dragon had mentioned working with a Nico Olvia during this expedition, this child certainly looked like her mother if you looked at the bounty posters side by side but… her complexion, the coloration of her hair… a quick tally of the dates and she can’t help but wonder if she inherited her father’s wings, too.
- when she saw Dragon again after so long, she hugged his neck. His eyes were warm again. He had his hope again. It was tempered with Nika knew how many trials, but he was still the loving little boy with the downy wings that she sang to sleep every night so many years ago…
- she was intrigued by Crocodile. She had heard these “devil fruits” could do wonderful things, but to change a body to match the soul within it… it was incredible. To know her son had helped set this man on that path to change made her wings fluff up with pride. She wishes she could have met Olvia, too.
- after coming to Elbaf, she NEVER covers her wings. She cuts holes in the backs of her clothes for them to fit through, sews clothes using patterns and stitches she knows by heart… as much as she lover Garp, Goa had been stifling. Upon seeing the cuts and mends in the backs of Dragons shirts when he visits, she can tell he suffered the same.

Hey gw2 peeps I recently learned that this interview exists (it’s from late December last year)
And I think reading through it gives a lot of context for why the latest update(s) may not have hit the mark for more story inclined people.
(My own thoughts/analysis under the cut. I’ll try to be vague spoilers but it comes with the territory)
Ok first to get it out of the way: my thoughts. I like this update! I think the new part of the map is beautiful as always, and it feels a LOT livelier than the first part. The new meta is less intensive than The Road to Heitor and feels fun to drop in and to replay, which is nice. I love all of the events that focus on helping civilians. I’m glad we have a portal from the Wizard’s Tower now, too! I haven’t really dug into all of the new weapon proficiencies on all classes, but I am enjoying engineer shortbow in WvW! I think this update has a lot more than a lot of people are giving it credit for, because what’s here is more mechanical gameplay than story instance content. I’m ok with the player character being A Hero and not THE Hero, but I do wish the commander had more speaking lines because it’s the little things that make the story so immersive and fun for me.
Speaking of, I want to highlight a quote from the interview I linked above. The rest of it is really fascinating, but this part stood out as specifically relevant to the discussion being had.
We’re learning a lot about how we develop and release content on this cadence, which absolutely has a downstream effect on the player experience. The overall shape of development between expansions 4 and 5 are very similar (timelines, resourcing, etc), even if the content and features are not. This means that we’re able to focus more on refining our development processes than reinventing them. The better that we can identify production issues like undocumented dependencies, bottlenecks, resourcing issues, etc, means that we can proactively address those issues in future dev cycles.
From our experiences with Secrets of the Obscure alone, we’ve adjusted development schedules, review processes, dev resource allocations, documentation and communication practices, and more. All of these contribute, to some degree, to improving the quality of what we deliver.
So basically what I’m getting here is that SotO was a huge adjustment, and if I’m reading between the lines correctly, I would guess that the adjustment was probably a little rough (to put it mildly).
I think this is why the story instance content was weaker than what other updates have provided. It makes sense that if a speaking part had to be cut/diminished, it would be the player character’s. 10 different voice actors for each line of dialogue is a lot more difficult to plan logistics for than a single voice actor reading ten lines.
But it also makes me hopeful that the devs at Anet will continue to learn from whatever might have gone wrong, and I am really excited to see what’s next!

new yap session lmao. also: watch my silly idea post turn into actual writing
SO i just had an idea and my few newfound follower count has got to tell me if this is good. so get this. (big warning for expand btw, like sorry)
there's a warrior clan in a cave setting ok. they are tigers. they have bioluminescent green pools inside and it's really cool like there's green glowy stuff everywhere. mostly algae but also glowworms and some other fungi.
basically the clan lives in a cave network and the main camp doesn't have any ponds for kit safety. HOWEVER all the clan's territory is confined to the cave network and all the hunting ground is littered with the bioluminescent pools. this is because in the caves, there's less land prey, so the clan has adapted to hunt fish and other animals in the pools (pending more research on animals that would reside there). this also fits because tigers are known to swim for hunting and also just for fun.
there are other clans--thinking a rainforest clan, a plains clan, and like... a treetop clan where their camp is in the actual trees [skyclan wishes they were them] and main clan only shares a border with rainforest and treetops. i think it would be set in thailand somewhere, broadleaf forests or rainforest
name ideas for all the diff clans welcome including the main one, here's what i have so far
algaeclan: would have to be changed once the bio came
glowclan: same as above
caveclan: bit basic? i like the alliteration tho
brightclan: ironic name until bio lol
darkclan: makes sense until bio
now that the logistics are over, time for story!
The bioluminescence in the pools is NEW. like the story prologue is when it begins and the first chapter is like a year or so in. before, they were just normal ass cave pools. obviously everyone's like wtf
cause this clan is not that new. it's at least gone through like 3 leads and a few founders lived in the caves before official clans were formed. so this has never been seen before in at least like 15 years.
so! everyone avoids the pools for a while and tries to hunt miscellaneous mice and spiders (temporary spiders georg clan) but it's not enough to feed the whole clan, it's just scraps. so the clan has to concede and start hunting from the pools.
the most proficient hunters, who dive the most, started feeling strange things. one day, about a half-moon after the clan started hunting pools again, Hawkwasp, one of the best hunters in the clan, didn't come back up from a dive.
The clan was really worried. the best hunters in the clan can hold their breath for 100 seconds at most, so dives are usually quite short. However, Hawkwasp was already down in the water for 10 minutes. no tiger can hold their breath that long, no matter how good a hunter they are.
after an hour had passed, another reputable hunter of the clan (Shineprance) dove to find Hawk despite her clanmates' protests. After around 30 seconds, Shine found Hawk--fully conscious and still hunting the pool. obviously she was relieved, but also confused. what could possibly allow Hawk to spend that much time underwater?
Through pawspeak (which everyone is taught from apprenticeship to both accommodate deaf clanmates and to speak underwater) Shine asked Hawk where he'd been. Hawk asked what she meant. after explaining that she'd been looking for her, Hawk questioned.. "how long have i been underwater?"
After bringing Hawk back to the surface, he confirms that she thought she'd only been down for a minute or so. after it was explained, he was greatly shocked and vowed to never dive again. she has only hunted spiders for the clan ever since.
Over the coming moons, more and more of the clan's best hunters stayed underwater much, much longer than usual. the longest run was around 5 hours. it is quickly realized that something about the bioluminescent algae and plants gave tigers the ability to breathe underwater. The tigers affected, only 5 warriors including Hawk, began to form subtle green gills around the neck/shoulder area. their paws, claws and muzzle areas started to taint green. Some reported pain in the upper stomach.
Despite these concerning effects, the leader and deputy went over the head of both the clan's nurses and encouraged the continuation of using the newfound power. the clan had fallen on tough times before, and they wren't going to prevent hunting from the pools again if it meant they went back to that.
slowly, growths start forming on the tigers affected. algae and moss for one, mushrooms for others, and glowworms for one. Hawkwasp is the only one with spiders. all the affected tigers' eyes turn slightly more green with each passing day.
Before the bioluminescence, the clan relied on small skylights for light from the sun and moon, but now that it's here the skylights have gradually started closing up. no one knows if the entrances, or more importantly exits to the caves will be next.
the affected have started acting.. strange. not like themselves. They've started disappearing into the pools for far longer than when it first started. it began with hours, but they're turning into days. the affected have no sense of time down there. the leader and deputy have instructed no one to go after them--they wouldn't want to obstruct their hunting.
The nurses of the clan attempt to recommend that each tiger dives with at least one other tiger, but the deputy and leader have overrided that and anyone except apprentices may dive alone.
Hawkwasp has not dove since the first incident. However, he still experiences the same symptoms as the other affecteds. It seems that as long as they still dive, every affected tiger will continue to undergo the symptoms. Hawkwasp has grown increasingly aloof, only communicating with clanmates when necessary. Most of the time, she can be found wandering the caves, skirting pools carefully and chasing the spiders that are not already scattered across her pelt.
No one knows what the affected tigers do down there, in the pools. some tigers think they're just hunting. some think they're encountering creatures of the deep. some think they're exploring their new home.
notes: i am SO so inspired by @clanborn, i think their writing and new concepts for the clans are amazing. thanks so much :)

From TACOM HQ

Fast, high saturation, cost effective, logistical warfare
P.S. Killer (PSK) drone by XDOWN
The first, throw-and-forget multi-role UAS, the PSK is deployed in 2-seconds by simply throwing it into the air like a football, and reaches top speeds of 155mph (69m/s) with a 1.7lb Kamikaze payload up to 40mi (64km).
The PSK is able to deliver precision strikes, conduct reconnaissance, coordinate with other military assets, and employ swarm tactics. It is also designed to autonomously detect, intercept, and neutralize other aerial threats.
NATO countries around the globe are increasingly prioritizing innovation in way of adaptability, cost-efficiency, and impact (like drones) over a strict standard for technological superiority at the expense of sustainability in a long-term conflict.
These global endeavors are also captured within the Alpha TARAC, a robust, high saturation, cost-effective alternative to its active reticle display counterpart. Cross-compatible with any optic, Alphas unlock Marksman-level proficiency via a prism with little to no additional training, batteries, or electronics deep into intermediate ranges.
The Alpha TARAC is a USA-made, prismatic bullet drop compensator. It harness max point-blank range (MPBR) or Speed Drop to simplify the thought chain to a binary solution per target size (MPBR) or range (Speed Drop) to eliminate holdover on movers at unknown ranges or to convert the range into a hold, respectively.

Sakurai Haruka: An idea (pt. 1)
Okay, dramatic title, but this is just about the information we have that points to Haruka having spent a decent amount of time in a psych ward. ...it's more long-winded than this needs to be, my English teachers (and all my other ones) keep saying I need to be more concise. Can't be bothered. Part 1: Haruka, language, and education. Starting with the character description, we get that he initially only responds to Es's questions with "a word or two", though once he's used to being around someone he becomes "talkative". He likes to talk with the others, even saying that it's his "hobby" in his T1 Q12 response. However, "since his communication skills are poor, he is unable to hold a proper conversation".
Across the whole project, particularly in the first trial, he's hesitant to interact, but he keeps on trying. He seems to stutter a lot, many of his int. answers are written with basic kanji, same with the Japanese subtitles for Weakness and AKAA. Haruka's unused to talking unless the expectations for him are clear (a common theme for him), he's not got a lot of practice with social situations, and his behaviour is notably anxious. It's likely that, so far in his life, he hasn't actually needed any language skills more complex than that. His vocab and character recognition/writing should be better than they are, if only by necessity. It's clear that he's capable of learning the language, as he does know some kanji and his hiragana, and he's adept in using what he does know to fill in the gaps (i.e, in the VDs). ...if he went to school, which he should have, then he'd be more proficient in Japanese. I'm not sure what Haruka's approximate proficiency level is, but it's probably about junior high level (12-15 yrs old, Mu is 16 and in her first year of high school). But he's made very little mention of school in general, if any. Mu's entire MVs are in a school setting, and Yuno at least talks about it (saying she's a high school third year and mentioning theatre club). I don't think Haruka's attended high school, at least. Junior high, maybe, but definitely not high school. He says that knowing another language is "impossible", even if English is mandatory in most Japanese schools. He's not working, either (most expensive thing he's bought was candy floss), or finding education in other areas like a trade or art. He's, technically, a NEET. But he wants to talk to the others. He actively enjoys it. He's responsive. He isn't a hikikomori, really, since between talking to another of the prisoners and being on his own, he'd choose to talk.
It's a conclusion most of us have come to. The neglect and abuse of Haruka, from his mother (he considers his father to be part of his family, but he only really talks about his mother, and his father "wasn't particularly interested" in him. Probably left in his childhood). He wants to be noticed. He wants people to like him. He was jealous of the person he killed. But... why keep him from school? Because of shame (of having a neurodiverse child)? Japan finds it very important to attend school, it's a big thing. Many would find it more shameful not to go. It's not an issue of cost, Haruka's had several pets and those can be expensive to care for. Time? The drain of being a caretaker? Better to send the kid to school, get them doing lots of clubs. But what if, logistically and practically, there wasn't much point to sending Haruka to high school in the first place? If Haruka had spent a significant amount of time on an inpatient unit, then it makes sense. Especially if he has been readmitted on multiple occasions, not far apart (which would be more realistic than one long admission spanning years, I think), then he'd miss too much school to justify enrolling him. He'd miss too many classes, be too far behind, and it would overall be worse for his mental wellbeing to switch between psych care and rigorous education, instead of going between psych care and home. It does actually make sense, to focus on Haruka's mental health instead of attempting schoolwork. ...Not to say that the whole situation was handled well, ahaha no. It explains:
his apparent lack of high school education
why we see the inside of his home prominently in his MVs
why he uses Japanese that's below his expected proficiency level (he's trying to get better, and he's probably been infantilised a bit by professionals and his mother, so there was never a "need" to work on his vocab)
a good part of why Haruka's mother seemingly has never gotten into trouble in regards to her care of Haruka (because, in some ways, she's actually doing the right thing, somehow)
why Haruka doesn't quite know how to talk to people
Okay too long, going to make a part 2 later. More about the evidence pointing to a psych ward specifically, and how that puts much of his behaviour into context beyond "oh he never grew up".

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THIS BLOG, THIS PREMISE, AND THIS CHARACTER. many aspects and concepts are directly taken from or inspired by robert ludlum's the bourne trilogy as well as the bourne franchise, but this blog does not exist in that canon. ideas for this blog may be taken or inspired by these pieces of media, but are not directly tied to them in any way, and all credit goes to the original creators.
OPERATION: TREADSTONE is a top-secret black ops organization designed to recruit, train, and deploy hitmen. the program was created secretly in response to three executive orders forbidding the united states from permitting or partaking in assassinations. the program is a joint operation between the american CIA and the british SIS.
this covert operation utilizes a forbidable, highly-trained group of assassins stationed across the globe who present themselves as average citizens hiding in plain sight. these assassins, or ASSETS, act almost like sleeper agents, maintaining a facade of normalcy and existing as casual civilians until summoned into active duty.
assets are given cover professions, intense training, handlers to guide them through missions, and all the tools and information necessary for travel, reconaissance, espionage, and the eventual elimination of their dangerous targets.
after acquiring his english language and literature degree at the university of oxford, sebastian moran entered the british armed forces in 2012 and subsequently completed specialist weapons school, as well as the british army sniper operator's course. in 2020, he left the military and was approached by representatives from OPERATION: TREADSTONE. they were interested in recruiting him due to his proficiency with long range weapons. he was quickly trained as an asset and now operates primarily within their guidelines.
with the guidance of his handler/logistics coordinator, emily kelso, sebastian has become one of the more successful assets within OPERATION: TREADSTONE.
sebastian moran was given a cover profession upon entering the organization that best aligned with his skills, level of knowledge, and field of study when attending university. he became an english literature professor at the queen mary university of london and now teaches two classes: 1) shakespeare: the play, the word, and the book, and 2) renaissance drama. MI6 has rigorously fortified his credentials to prevent the possibility of blown cover.
when sebastian is not on missions, he can be found at his flat on ladbroke road in london, at the local wine bar, or on campus teaching classes or holding office hours for students. he does travel for work and/or for pleasure, so he can also be found wandering rooftops or exploring the local food scene of a new town or place.
