i am not immune to marketing gimmicks (<- just bought limited edition cocoa flavor online)

#sasha speaks #they're having a big sale rn to clear out their overstock and leftover limited edition flavors from the past year #nearly everything is sold out already especially most of their flavored blends #but they had a medium roast from an origin i haven't tried before #and the unflavored single origin medium roasts are my favorite! so i ordered a bag for 35% off #plus a bag of my usual favorite...in fairness i also meant to bring some back home with me from my apartment and forgot completely #the other day when i was packing #so having a couple bags of cocoa arriving at home for me in a few days will be a nice treat #it's just roasted and ground cacao beans but you brew it just like coffee #the end product really is a lot like black coffee (bitter and strong lol) but it's quite lovely with a bit of sweetener #i used to take it with some cream but actually now my favorite preparation #is cocoa grounds + big pinch of salt + a few green cardamom pods + just enough maple syrup to make it *barely* sweet #makes a wonderful hot beverage. it's so cozy...#anyway looking forward to that. i hope the new flavor is good. the last limited edition medium roast i tried was fine #but i didn't like it more than their regular ones #unfortunately most of their varieties these days are either dark/french/ultradark (spanish) roasts or they're flavored light roasts #and i don't much go for those. i mean occasionally a flavored light roast #but i find them disappointing more often than not. light roast isn't chocolatey enough for me and the flavors are usually weak or stale #(the strawberry one is good but it's a summer limited ed and it was out of stock already by the time i saw the overstock sale)#and the dark roasts are just too dark for me. i want to taste the cacao bean and origin not just the roast #so the medium roasts are the sweet spot for me. roasted enough to taste really chocolatey and strong #but not so much that they're overwhelming and lose their character #actually weirdly i've noticed recently that on some of their limited ed and flavored blends they aren't listing the roast level.#it's very strange #for the flavoreds i just assume light roast but it's weird when they don't tell you on the package or the online shop page

guys I just survived a ladder that wanted to kill me. cheers

#context- I work odd jobs in film production a lot. I recently picked up a new part timer filming high school football games #this particular one was an hour and a half away so needless to say I was already mentally preparing for a LOT #and I got there and the spot where they wanted me was on the ROOF of the press box. which I knew beforehand #what I did NOT know beforehand was that the only way up or down was a ladder that pops down from said roof #which would’ve been okay but I was carrying three equipment bags like a pack mule #so I climb the ladder and even that was fine until the top step #I faceplant straight onto the roof because there is a barrier that’s like a foot long between the ladder step and the roof floor #so. rough start. but the view is great and once I’m up there it’s kinda fun #until. UNTIL. I wanted to go pee because again. hour and a half drive to get there.#said barrier made it so you have to climb down to get to the ladder step and railing and I pissed around playing chicken with that thing for #for an HOUR playing chicken because I could not fucking handle it #so I get through the first half okay but decide that I’m booking it to the bathroom the second halftime starts #and I forced my fat arse over the ledge and I figured out a grip on the trapdoor thing that helped keep me from falling #and I felt like I’d just made a person break cause like. I genuinely was not sure how the fuck I’d make it down for a bit #after that? might’ve been the high of Doing The Scary Thing but the rest of the time I had fun #I got a nice coach in the press box to help grab my bags as I handed them to him so I could climb down to leave #drove an hour in pitch darkness on country roads to my boss’s house to drop off the footage then 20 minutes home and now #and now I think I could sleep forever and ever but I fuckin did the thing

pt got canceled today bc of technical issues, so i spent the day deep cleaning. let me just say i did SO much that i haven't had the energy or motivation to do in MONTHS. i am so fucking proud of myself ahhhh

#tbh the only reasons im scrambling to clean rn are 1) the fact that we're moving in march and #2) a moving company is coming on thursday to give us an estimate. and i dont want the house to be dirty #HOWEVER a w is a w in my book!!#today i vacuumed and mopped the laminate. SCRUBBED the wall and floorboards where lucky eats #bc she flings food around and splatters watter IDK WHY. but food was stuck to the wall and stuff #that hasnt been done in probably 8-10 months #decluttered my side of the bedroom and deep cleaned the carpet #last year during the hurricanes our master bedroom window leaked brown water EVERYWHERE #and the blinds got splattered and stained. we never cleaned them bc we were waiting on maintenance #to fix the window. they never did lol. so now i FINALLY cleaned them and theyre white again!!!#plus other little things i thought of while moving around!!!#i feel fucking amazing and SO much less stressed out bc my house is CLEAN #u get used to the mess/clutter after a while and dont realize how much it stresses u out #but now i must have thrown out at least 4 bags of garbage or clutter that we dont need #AND packed a full box of stuff for the move #its been so fucking satisfying and helpful too w my depression. bc i actually feel productive #anyway i love cleaning i love having a clean house #and im glad im finally getting some energy back post surgery & chemo #chatter
