warnings: fluff, talk of pregnancy, pregnancy, hints of sex, just really cute
i thought of this and immediately knew this would be something andrew’s peter would do, so here we are <3
word count: 1K
don’t steal any of my work, thanks!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐏𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐑’𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐖𝐄𝐑𝐄 smoothing across the prominent bump of your belly, circling around waiting for his daughter to kick. You were sat on his lap, chest against your back and his head between your neck and shoulder; his soft, growing out hair tickled your jaw and your head relaxed back on his shoulder. Your hands were gripped loosely around his wrists, following his movement as they roamed aimlessly around the home your child currently lived.
“I can just tell she’s gunna be a daddy’s girl, you know?” He whispered into your ear, lips brushing against the shell and tingling your entire body. His lips kissed your jaw, feeling a smirk on his lips as his daughter reacted to his words and movement: kicking your belly and signalling that she was already trouble before she was even here.
You held back a smile, failing miserably. “Really? You don’t think she’ll prefer the person whose had her in my stomach for the past 6 months?” You raised your brows, curious on who will be the favoured parent (hint: it was you).
“No way,” He groaned into the skin between your neck and shoulder. “As soon as she finds out her dad is the friendly neighbourhood spiderman, I’ll be the favourite.”
You looked up at his curiously, eyebrow quirked upwards and a smirk painted on your face. “Yeah, totally.” You teased, watching his shake his head and giggling to himself; content with the family he was about to begin his life with, the perfect woman and the most beautiful baby on its way. He couldn’t think of anything better.
He listened to the noise of your heartbeat, the thumps loud with his spider sense. “You can’t tell everyone about this, you know?” He heard your voice. “What?” He questioned.
“The baby, I know it’s been 6 months but I’d rather not walk to work and see ‘Spider-Baby On The Way!’ printed on every magazine.” He smiled at you. “Poor kid isn’t even here yet, I’d rather her first appearance not to be in the tabloids.”
Peter stroked the stray hairs off your forehead, his heart bursting at your dedication to keep this a little family, already feeling pressure for carrying the Spider-Man’s baby girl.
“I promise, love. I won’t say a word.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“She’s 7 months along today!” Peter smiled down to the citizens of New York, their smiles up to the man dressed in the spider suit.
The girls squealed, in awe and cheeks a splash red. The men grinned, eyes glistening with happiness and a subtle wink of pride. “That’s adorable, man. See ya Spidey!” Two of the guys waved.
Peter jumped down from the street sign, waving his hands infront of the people and webbing a couple citizens passing by into the little group he had created to engage in the conversation. “Woah, woah, woah! Did you know that my wife thinks that our kid will have my spider powers?” He beamed from behind the mask.
The crowd gasped and awed, heads tilting and eyes doe. Peter nodded his head amongst the reactions, “Yep, yep. I’ll teach her the ropes, but my wife will definitely kick my ass because of it.”
Many people clapped as Peter playfully did a bow towards the crowd and bit his lip to contain his smile. He shrugged off the compliments and congratulations from his fans, loving the thought of everyone being so supporting of his new and upcoming family of three.
“Hope it’s all well, Spidey!” Peter felt like he was going to cry. “Tell your wife congrats!” He’s on the verge of tears. “Take the time of Spider-Man, look after your family!” Sobbing profusely behind the mask.
What a family you would be. The three of you, you. You’re at home, carrying his child with the spaghetti boiling in the pan, knowing damn well you are running your hands over the bump of your belly, pretending it’s his hands. You’re the perfect mother, soon-to-be mother actually. And him, the superhero with a child, the most beautiful child to ever exist and to have the most fulfilled life you can guarantee. You. Shit! You!
He was meant to be home an hour ago! Thanks a lot Spider-Man fans! I blame you completely for making me talk about my favourite thing to only forget about my favourite thing! Damn.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐎𝐃 𝐖𝐀𝐒 cold the moment he fell through the window, sprinting to the shared bedroom so rip off his suit and walk in the front door to where you would assume he simply got caught up and didn’t hear what he was saying.
He kicked the door to the bedroom and pulled his mask off his face, yanking down his suit to his torso and trying to pull off his shoes, extremely ungraciously.
The light switching on in the room made his jump and land on the ceiling, head falling down to search for danger until it faced a phone screen.
Spider-Man brags about soon-to-be Spider-Baby with his longtime girlfriend, turned wife.
“You won’t tell anyone, huh?” He heard your voice from behind the glowing screen, holding it up for a while so he could read it upside down. Peter groaned and dropped onto the floor.
“Y/N, I’m so sorry. I didn’t think before I spoke. Someone asked me about my future and I immediately thought of you and our child and before I knew it I was— wait a minute, are you laughing?”
He furrowed his brows when he heard your giggles and lip tugged between your teeth with a grin etched across you face. “Peter, I don’t care.” He relaxed his shoulders and fell into a hug with you, one of his hands resting against your belly.
You tilted your head up to bump foreheads with his, noses rubbing against each other as his was cold at the tip, your warm aura heating him up. He leaned to kiss your lips continually, whispering sweet nothings as he apologised still.
“There’s still no way I’m letting you teach our child the Spider-Man duties. Especially not the ropes.”
Peter laughed at you, knowing very much well that he would do it anyway. This was he chance to have a Spider-Baby, who would give up that chance?
this is awful but like anyways

bi!peter parker x bi fem!reader
word count 1.5k
summary you and peter seemed to both have confessions to tell each other…at the same time.
warnings slight mentions of anxiety, one cuss word and just pure fluff !
authors note IM BACK !! i’m so so sorry i haven’t been active i’ve been super busy but i miss writing and posting on here sm ! alsooo happy pride month !! u all are so loved and valid and i hope u enjoy this fic to celebrate <33
you couldn’t sleep.
after what felt like hours of restless tossing and turning and even trying to calm your crowded mind with rain noises, you just couldn’t stop the thoughts in your head.
you quickly sat up from your bed and huffed in frustration.
you ran your hands through your hair and tried to slow down your breathing to hopefully slow down your thoughts.
i need to tell him. i need to tell him. you thought.
recently, you’ve been stressing about whether or not you should tell your boyfriend, peter, about…well…your feelings.
you’ve figured out your sexuality for quite awhile now but just haven’t told anyone. it was scary to come to terms with your sexuality so the thought of telling someone feels like a nightmare.
it’s literally been keeping you up at night.
since it’s the beginning of June, pride month, you’ve seen a lot of people come out to their loved ones or are just comfortable with who they are.
it made you so happy to see people love themselves and just love who they want.
and while there is no rush, you feel that it’s finally time to tell peter about your bisexuality.
although peter is supportive in everything you do and is quite literally your #1 fan, you were still scared.
will he think of me differently? will he still love me?
yes, some of the thoughts you were overthinking were stupid; peter is amazing.
yet, you couldn’t get these thoughts out of your mind.
you reached over to your nightstand and turned on the lamp while grabbing your phone as well.
when you unlocked your phone, you noticed a text from peter from a minute ago.
peter: just finished patrolling for the night! can i come over? i’ll pick us up some delmar’s :)
you sighed. it’s not like you didn’t want peter to come over, you loved being around him.
you were just scared because you knew you wanted to tell him and now’s the time.
you: that sounds perfect <3 cant wait x
after you sent your last text, you threw your phone to god knows where and squealed in your pillow.
how do i tell him? just straight up or have him guess?
least to say, you were frustrated.
while you waited for peter’s arrival, you scrolled through TikTok and saw some coming out videos pop out on your feed. there were cakes, sweater weather, bisexual audios, you name it.
but what stuck out to you the most was their reactions. they seemed so happy and proud for their loved one and they seemed so free.
you smiled at the videos. tapping from the window then interrupted you.
you turned around from where you were laying and saw peter in his spidey suit smiling at you while holding up some delmar’s.
he’s so precious.
you smiled back at him as you got up and walked towards your window. you opened it and peter crawled inside.
“hey baby.” peter sighed as he got in.
“hey.” you replied while leaning into him, giving him a hug.
“got your favorite!” peter said as he pulled away from the hug placing the delmar’s bag down on your desk.
you just smiled while nervously fiddling with your hands. peter took notice of this.
“how was patrolling?” you finally said.
“uh it was alright. i missed you though.” peter smiled nervously while scratching the back of his neck.
you looked down at your fiddling hands.
why was this so...awkward?
“well, how about you get comfy and then we can listen to Harry Styles’ new album while we eat?” you suggested trying to break the awkward silence.
“sounds great.” peter chuckled.
while he walked over to your closet where he left his clothes, you sat on your bed turning on the TV.
“y/n what’s your top three off Harry’s House?” peter asked while he was changing.
“hmm,” you thought. “that’s hard they’re all so good!”
“correct answer. i love late night talking though,” he replied.
you smiled, clicking on the album and having it play in the background.
peter then joined you on your bed with the delmar’s.
“here you go.” peter said as he passed you your sandwich.
i think i should tell him now. no wait, maybe later?
as your thoughts continued going back in forth, you fiddled with your hands more staring off into the distance.
peter took a deep sigh then noticed your nervous state.
“hey, you okay? you’ve been acting all nervous since i got here.” peter voiced.
“just got some stuff on my mind.” you mumbled, still looking down at your hands.
“hey,” he started, placing his hand on yours to stop the fiddling, “talk to me.”
you looked up at him, finally looking into his eyes.
i have to tell him now.
you got out of your bed and paced around your room, peter looking at you confused.
“y/n,” peter started, furrowing his eyebrows.
“i uh- i have to tell you something.” you interrupted, still pacing around your room.
“y/n you’re scaring me. what is it?” peter looked up at you both confusion and fear in his eyes.
he also overthought a lot.
you stopped and looked at him. you sighed and walked over to kneel in front of your bed.
“um- please peter before i tell you this,” you started, words starting to tremble. “please don’t think of me any differently.”
you looked up at him as he looked at you with the same confused look.
despite this confusion, he nodded.
you let out a breath.
“god, i don’t even know how to start,” you chuckled, nervously running your hands through your hair.
peter placed his hand on yours, a gesture to let you know he was there for you no matter what.
you squeezed his hand a bit.
“well, you know how i like boys? well obviously but- um- i also kind of like girls? well, not kind of i really like girls. but like i also really like you. i mean more then like but you know what i mean.” you rambled. you couldn’t even look at peter.
“ugh what i’m trying to say is, i’m bisexual.” you sighed. you then got the courage to look up at him.
you couldn’t point out his expression.
and that scared the shit out of you.
“fuck um- forget i said any of that.” you gulped while standing up, letting go of his hand and turning away from him.
“wait, y/n.” he called as he followed you and turned you around to look at him.
your head stayed down.
“look i’m sorry. it’s just been on my mind and i had to tell you or else i literally would have exploded. but now i regret saying anything. i just ruined everything.” you apologized, still looking down at your hands.
after what felt like years of silence, peter just chuckled.
you shot your eyes up at him, confused about why he was laughing?
“y/n, baby.” peter started, getting closer to you. “can i tell you something?”
you nodded slowly, still very confused.
“me too.”
“peter, what?” you huffed out in frustration.
“i uh,” he began, scratching the back of his neck. “i also like boys and girls.”
your eyes widened.
“wait, what? you’re bi?” you questioned in disbelief.
peter smiled softly and nodded.
you stood there for a few moments just looking at each other absorbing what had just happened.
until you pulled him into a tight hug.
he held you close to him and sighed in comfort.
you both smiled to yourselves. feeling so free.
“did we really just come out at the same time?” you chuckled softly, breaking the silence.
peter let out a small laugh.
“yeah, i guess we did.”
after a few moments of hugging, you two sat back on the bed.
“you don’t know how hard it was to tell you that,” you said after taking a bite out of your sandwich.
“how did you think i was going to react?” he questioned.
“i don’t know. i was just overthinking i guess.” you shrugged.
“well, i’m proud of you,” he said placing his hand on yours. you smiled softly at this gesture.
“and i already kind of had a feeling.” he snickered.
“wait what?” you questioned surprisingly.
“i mean yeah. the way you spoke about women, especially Doja Cat.” he laughed.
you gasped dramatically.
“well, i can say the same about you.”
“oh really?” he urged.
“mhm. your love for Harry Styles is way beyond his music,” you answered.
he paused.
“wait, is it that obvious?” he said, mouth agape.
you two then busted out laughing at how ridiculous and clueless you both were.
after the laughing died down, “Cinema” by Harry Styles started to play.
“he sounds really good in this song.” peter smirked, causing you to giggle and nod.
“well,” you started. “despite how dumb we both were to notice anything, i’m really proud of you and i’ll love you no matter what. i hope you know that.”
he grinned.
“same here, always.”
you smiled at him and leaned in closer, closing the gap between you two.
it was a short kiss. though, it expressed the love and support you had for each other.
you pulled away slowly.
“now i have someone to freak out over all my celebrity crushes with.”

people wanted it(so did I) so here is my therapy au for NWH(SPOILERS)
I called it The Spider-Men AU or alternatively Spider-Bros
They are brothers
The spider really likes the Parker boys, since it bit all three
Tom is Peter, Tobey and Andrew are Tobey and Andrew because fuck creative naming
Peter’s trans, all three are bi
Peter is 15, Andrew is 17 and Tobey is 19
Tobey’s doing online college
They have bunkbeds and fouton in their room
They fight over the top bunk a lot
Peter’s dating MJ, Tobey’s dating Wade and Andrew is dating Harry
Their suits are very similar, Pete’s has black, Andrew’s has Navy and Tobey’s has blue but otherwise the same
They tell the public they’re “the Spider Men”
The public refers to them as “the small one”(Pete) “the lanky one”(Andrew) and “the responsible one”(Tobey) or more offically “Navy” “Blue” and “Black”
They call each other “little shit”(Pete) “bitch face”(Andrew) “mother fucker”(Tobey) when on the job
Aunt May knows and approves, though she gets worried about her boys
She’s very supportive
Tobey and Andrew wear their suits under their clothes, but it’s quite hard for Peter to piss in so he has to change
This leads to a lot of “PETE HURRY UP” “THIS IS CIS PRIVLAGE”
They are pure chaos
“MOTHER FUCKER WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT” “YOU’RE NOT MY MOM BITCH FACE”
*Pete misses a swing after being chased and falls in front of Andy* “nice of you to join us”
*goon gets sent rolling in the other direction* “they see me rollin’ the hatin’”
*Tobey and Peter talking about math and science and how it will help the situation, Andy knowing full well he is of the same intelligence* “y’all are nerds”
*electro does something* *all three boys sarcastically at the same time* “Gasp, shocking”
They quote vines a lot
Many people have theorized that the group are teenagers
Lots of hair fussing
When Andy sees Pete in the hall, he punches his shoulder then fusses his hair.
If there’s some kind of problem, he fusses his hair first, then punches his shoulder
They have an unspoken agreement with the old ladies that live above them not say anything when they see the boys sneak back in through the window
Tobey is the least sneaky, he makes a lot of noise
Tobey’s organic webs are an anomaly in the family
They develop the web fluid for Andy and Pete from his webs
Toxic masculinity? Never heard of her
I really wanna put Miles in this somehow but that would be few years into the spidermaning tm and I wanna start this around a few months in
Peter’s spidey isn’t openly trans because it’s nobody’s business but they agree to do an interview and the interviewer says something transphobic and the other boys are like “oh she had it coming” and Peter just laughs and looks at the camera and says, “I’m trans dumbass”
For pride month, they spider man with bi flags as capes
Pete and Andy walk to school together every day because it gives them a bit of normality
Tobey on the other hand has unlimited webbing and swings wherever he wants
None of them will admit they are hurt so they always drag each other to the hospital where they have an agreement with Dr Cristine Palmer on behalf of Dr Stephen Strange to patch them up and not say anything
They’re about to go into a big battle and Andy just grabs his brothers shoulders and says “I love you guys”
(They say it back)
Tobey refers to them as his baby brothers and Peter refers to them as his big brothers. Andrew calls them each respectively
When Pete first brings MJ home Andy gets all fake offended when he doesn’t introduce them
“Peter where are your manners young man”
“UGH MJ these are my brothers, Andrew and Tobey”
“Thank you.”
Tobey chaprones homecoming much to his brothers’ dismay
A convo that absolutely happened
Pete: “Is it still ok to kill spiders now?”
Andy: “yeah… wait”
Tobey: “OH MY GOD IS IT”
Matt Murdock is a family friend and he stops by for dinner every once and a while(very often May’s microwave dinners and taste in takeout is very good)
They throw his laundry in with theirs because he doesn’t have that much clothes(usually it’s in the same wash as the spidersuits so all the blood gets out together)
They also groccery shop for him sometimes because the stores don’t have brail
He knows about the boys being spidermen and Daredevil is seen teaming up with them on a regular basis
I like to think he has a cordinated high five with all three of them
He comes over for Christmas dinner
Along with the Moraleses(I snuck my boy in there) because they are also family friends
Wade joins the year that he starts dating Tobey ‘cause he has no family
Tobey wraps all presents that aren’t for him because Andy and Pete suck at it and Aunt May gets overwhelmed
I’ll add more when I come up with it and add the ao3 link when I write it
Request to be @ed when I post and I will try my best to

spidey kazuha with a very shy reader.
you think kaedehara kazuha, the pretty literature major + cashier, despises you because he avoids you like the plague, but truth is he doesn't want to to accidentally make you uncomfortable since you seem reclutant to talk with strangers (i mean, he's not a stranger, he's the one who usually hands you your drink trying to avoid his gaze - because he fears you might get the wrong idea and-)
then there's spiderman. the city's vigilante who gives you an odd sense of comfort - you have no idea why, who even is this guy..? you scold yourself for letting him in the first times, but you can't bring yourself to leave his injuries untreated.
you think he does it on purpose, trying to woo you with his silly little pick up lines - i mean, it works- you giggle a lot at his antics and god, he started to poke you because he likes your laughter-
sigh.
kazuha, in his spider-man getup, slowly gets you out of your shell, too. like sometimes, you'll talk about your day while you're patching up his minor injuries, and if he strains his ears, he can hear the tiniest hint of pride in your voice when you tell him that you managed to correct one of your doctors today and get someone the right help that they needed. usually, you're never bold enough to do something like call someone out — especially not your superiors — but after months of telling spider-man where exactly he's hurt and how severe it is (despite his protests that it's not), you finally mustered the courage to put your foot down and flex your knowledge
if kazuha wasn't in this suit, he'd totally kiss you. he's so proud of you. he tells you as much and brushes his fingers over your cheek gently to reassure you that seriously, he's so proud of you. and he just wants to hold you more when you drop your head and mumble a soft "thanks".

High school is finally over and New York was surprisingly good to you. The weather reflects the warmth in your heart whenever you think about the days of freedom ahead. You weren’t worrying too much about college, in fact you were excited for the new journey that you were going to take. With Peter attending MIT, thanks to Tony Stark’s so called pull, and you attending Boston University in the fall, you two agreed to make the most out of New York during the summer; despite already having grown up in the city.
Today, you two were set to go to Coney Island. You and Peter prided in the fact that you were New York locals, knowing every nook and cranny of the often romanticized city.
But after watching a certain Olsen twins movie during the time when he forgot his Star Wars DVDs, you two decided that it would be fun to go exploring New York through the eyes of tourists. Just last week, he purchased matching I love NYC shirts for you and him from a vendor across Delmar’s, which earned him odd looks since the residents knew that he was definitely a kid of the city.
The sky was clear and you couldn’t help but close your eyes, smile to yourself, and bask in the sunshine. You were waiting for Peter by your fire escape, knowing that he will still climb up even without his Spiderman suit. But you knew that he had it on him, no matter where he is or who he was with.
You found out about his secret identity during junior year, even when you two weren’t together yet. You felt bad that you found out accidentally, through Ned who accidentally showed you a selfie of him and Peter wearing the suit sans the mask. You remembered how red Peter’s face turned and how Ned gave him a sheepish, apologetic smile. Turns out, Peter let it slip to his best friend that he was starting to develop feelings for you which lead to Ned playing wingman.
You felt bad that the discovery happened without it going according to Peter’s terms. His shocked face and stuttering left you wanting to pinch his adorable cheeks and assure him that nothing will change. But of course things did change- but for the better.
The two of you got even closer than before during junior year. By the end of the school year, you were sure that something was definitely there, so it was disheartening when you learned that you were off to some Mediterranean country for the first month of summer break.
But even after everything, you treasured the summer time because it was when you came back from vacation with your family that Peter asked you to go on a date with him.
And now here you were, nearly a year later, wearing a blue sundress similar to the one you wore on your first date with your favorite brown-eyed boy. The window to your bedroom was open, ABBA playing softly in the background, and the summer breeze gently blowing your hair to the side. It was serene.
A ping! rang through the air.
Peter <3: you ready, pretty girl???
And within a second later, your boyfriend was already standing at your fire escape. You smiled at him and Peter returned the loving gaze. His eyes scanned you up and down which made heat rush to your cheeks.
After grabbing your belongings from a nearby desk chair, you double checked if everything in your room was in place before taking Peter’s outstretched hand to help you out the window. When you two got off the stairs, you took it as the time to check Peter out, just as he did to you.
He looked very handsome in his white button up shirt, levi’s, and blue satin jacket. You smirked when it was his turn to blush and you tugged at his jacket to give him a small kiss on the lips. You intentionally opted to leave your jacket behind so he can give you his for when the summer night breeze settles in later. Peter nudged his nose with yours once your lips have separated.
“You wore that on purpose.” You whispered teasingly as you tugged at the sleeve of his jacket; the shade similar to your dress.
“You wore that on purpose.” Peter repeated as his hand slightly pushed up the hem of your dress with the palm of his hand.
You felt that familiar heat on your face return, so you decided to place your head against the crook of his neck and left a kiss by his sweet spot. Giggling, you pulled away when he groaned.
“We’re gonna be late, pretty boy.” You grabbed his hand and proceeded to tug him along as you skipped down the pavement.
Luckily, it was a weekday, meaning that even though it was a nice summer day, there weren’t many children around to wreak havoc on the amusement area. There were old couples, but there were also teenagers hanging out with their friends. You and Peter giggled to each other like children when you two recognized some younger students in Midtown that were obviously on their awkward first date.
“Ice cream or cotton candy?” He asks as he snakes an arm around your waist and places a chaste kiss on your shoulder.
The two of you eventually got some ice cream on waffle cones, but that was after you spent your energy playing games and riding the attractions. You argued that Peter might throw up if you two got the ice cream right before getting on the cyclone.
The sun has set by now, and the night sky is illuminated by the stars up above. Bright lights overpower the darkness, creating a glow on everybody’s faces. And as you expected, Peter’s jacket was now around your shoulders. It didn’t take a lot of convincing anyways, his heightened senses immediately noticing the goosebumps that littered your skin.
You two walked hand in hand by the boardwalk, with his thumb occasionally rubbing circles on your knuckles- which the butterflies in your stomach went frantic for.
You two shared a giddy smile, as if an unspoken inside joke had just occurred, but you knew it was just Peter sensing the flips your heart is currently doing. In the back of your mind, there was a voice saying that he’d still know either way if he didn’t have his spidey senses. You found yourself giggling out loud at how adorably ridiculous “spidey senses” sounded.
“Whatcha laughing at?” Peter playfully squinted his eyes at you.
“Nothing.” You laughed even harder which caused your boyfriend to tug you closer to him.
Peter raised his ice cream closer to your face and you squealed and tried to get free from his grasp. He was eating triple chocolate for god's sake!
“Tell me,” He chuckled and brought the cone closer. “Or else.”
“Is that a threat, Spiderman?” You whispered the last bit.
The grin on your boyfriend’s face widened and next thing you knew, you felt the cold touch your cheek. You gasped, but didn’t pull away. All you wanted was to listen to Peter’s contagious laugh forever.
The laughter died down, but a look of content washed over both your faces, a faint smile still painted on your mouth.
Peter brought a thumb to wipe away the ice cream smudge on your cheek. It was as if time slowed down and he was the only thing on your mind.
He has consumed your thoughts and there’s not a day that goes by in which you don’t think about him. You can see that his hand still hovered over the side of your face and his eyes held a sparkle that not even the fireworks that were bound to go off later could match. I’m so in love with Peter, you thought to yourself.
Pink blossomed across Peter’s freckled face and you knew that you had accidentally broadcasted your thoughts aloud.
“I’m so in love with you too.” He said, voice soft- but you could hear it clearly above all the noise.
“We should go to the park.” You suggested. Peter knew exactly what you were referring to as he admired the dreamy gaze on your face.
He nodded and laced your hands together once more. He placed a kiss on your forehead and you sighed in contentment. Life was good, peaceful even.
The walk was filled with laughter and stories exchanged between you two. Whether it was a memory already told or one that was dug up from the back of your minds.
You quickly spotted the familiar wooden bench and the two of you made your way towards it. It was perched next to a tree which gave the perfect amount of shade, not that you needed it tonight though.
You ran your fingers over the wood and smiled wistfully, “This is where you first kissed me.”
“Yeah,” Peter nodded before chuckling. “I was so nervous.”
“I know,” You teased. “But you’re big, ol’ strong Spiderman.”
“Spiderman doesn’t kiss,” Peter rolled his eyes playfully. “But so did I, so I didn’t know what to do.”
You couldn’t help but smile at your boyfriend’s sudden shyness. Looking around, you noticed that the park was mostly empty save for the vendors and a few women in business attire. But nevertheless, nobody was paying attention to each other.
You swung your legs over Peter’s, you sitting on his lap as you faced him. His arms found place on your hips on instinct and for a moment, the two of you sat there, eyes flickering from the other’s eyes and lips.
You only got one kiss in when Peter gently pushed you away from him and he stood up from the bench, alertness and caution evident on his face.
“I’m so sorry, baby.” He pleaded, guilt dripping from his voice.
“What-”
He quickly pulled you to the side and unzipped his backpack. A frown settled on your face as you saw the teddy bear he had won you earlier next to the familiar spandex suit. Settling behind the large tree, Peter started to undress and got into his suit, frantically looking around to see if anyone was watching. You did the same and made sure there was no onlooker.
As you were about to express your concern, a sudden explosion filled your ears, causing you to scream.
“Shit!” Peter exclaimed. His gloved hands pulled you to him. “Are you okay?”
All you could do was nod as the two of you looked over to where black smoke was rising into the already polluted air. An orange glow started to show, but it was not calming like the one back in the amusement park. Unable to speak, you listened to Peter and heard him talking to Karen about the commotion.
“Y/N,” He pulled you from your thoughts. “Stay here, okay? Don’t go anywhere, not until I’m back.”
“But, Pete--”
“Baby, please,” You could hear the desperation in your boyfriend’s voice. “Karen already predicts it won’t spread here so just stay, please.”
“Okay,” You frantically nodded. “I love you, be safe. Please, please be safe.”
Tears were starting to blur your vision and the last thing you could properly comprehend was Peter slightly lifting his mask to press a kiss to your forehead before he swung away with his webs.
An hour has passed, and you were still shaking in fear by the bench. You had clutched Peter’s backpack to your chest and tried to calm yourself down by taking in his scent that lingered on the jacket. A faint scent of smoke filled your nostrils, but you clung to the smell of cinnamon mixed with fresh linen.
You received multiple texts from friends and family, but only gave them a short reply reassuring them that you’re fine. Physically, you were, but your mind was going into dark places. Your thoughts couldn’t stop from conjuring up negative ones. As much as you wanted to check on Peter, you knew that it would not benefit anybody because it would distract him from doing his job.
“We gotta go!” Peter suddenly appeared in front of you. He didn’t wait for an answer before he pulled you into him, right arm secured around your torso.
You squealed as you two ascended into the New York skyline. You just hoped that your nails weren’t digging holes into Peter’s suit because of how hard you were clinging onto him.
“Peter!” You cried out. You heard him mutter an apology under his breath as he continued to shoot webs from building to building.
You kept your head tucked under his neck throughout the entire journey. You didn’t even know where you two were going but the fear mixing in with the adrenaline held you back from asking questions.
You felt Peter’s momentum slow down and you noticed that it was brighter and louder now. Honks from taxi cabs clashed with sirens from fire trucks. He helped you settle on your feet, and kept you steady when your legs went all wobbly.
You were at your fire escape.
Taking a few deep breaths, your heartbeat eventually calmed down and you took in Peter’s shaking form. You heard him let out a sob and panic rose in your chest again.
“Baby, hey, what’s wrong?” You asked with a soft tone, and started to gently lift up the bottom part of his mask.
His breathing was frantic and you continued to completely take off the mask that clung to his skin. Peter wasn’t meeting your eye and you knew that his senses were still going haywire. You cupped his face in your hands.
“Hey, Pete..” You cooed. “Breathe with me, yeah?”
You two started to synchronize your breathing pattern and you felt his jaw starting to relax underneath your touch. He finally looked you in the eyes and the tears forming in his waterline broke your heart.
“Are you hurt?” You asked, starting to open your bedroom window with one hand while the other remained on his cheek.
“I—” Peter started but eventually let out a sigh. He started helping you lift up the window and helped you crawl inside your room.
You were confused when Peter was still by the stairs and wasn’t budging.
“Come on in, it’s okay.” You reassured him. You knew by the look on his face that he was blaming himself for how your night turned from peaceful to one involving you inhaling in smoke.
“Come here, it’s okay,” You stretched out your arms and started to pull him into your room. You knew that he was complying since you wouldn’t be able to move him by an inch if he wasn’t.
Your arms didn’t let go, but rather tightened around Peter’s figure when he set foot into your bedroom. You rested your head against his chest and let the faint sound of his heartbeat calm you down. A small smile crept on your face his hand rested on your waist and the other started caressing your hair softly.
“I’m sorry.” He let out. You only hummed in return, letting him know that you were genuinely fine with the events of tonight. “We should—”
You kept quiet, waiting for him to finish his sentence. You pulled away when he didn’t.
“We should what, Pete?” You whispered as your hand came up to cup his cheek again. To be honest, you didn’t know why the two of you were whispering. The apartment was empty and you wouldn’t be bothering anyone.
“We should..” Peter trailed off once again. You could hear him swallow because of how quiet it was in your room. “We should break up.”
You immediately retracted your hand, “What?”
“I’m so sorry, Y/N,” Tears were fully streaming down his face now. “But it’s for the best.”
You could not comprehend what he was saying. Something definitely happened earlier by the fire that was causing him to say such things. You never pushed Peter to tell you about things going on with his life as a superhero.
Of course, you ask him to share fun stories and what it’s like, but never have you pushed him to share the horrors that he has seen. You know Peter well enough that he will tell you about it whenever he was ready. And you respect that. But this time was different.
“Peter, what happened?” You asked firmly.
“It’s– it’s me, okay? You being with me is dangerous and I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you.”
“Peter, what happened?” You repeated, crossing your arms. “At the fire. You know that I am perfectly capable of handling myself.”
He lets out a frustrated groan and buries his face in his hands, “I know that! Don’t you think I know that? But.. but out there, there are seriously messed up people that won’t go down from a pepper spray to the face.”
You softly gasped as he started to raise his voice, but you stood your ground, “Peter, what—”
“He said your name!”
The room was quiet now. Silence between you and Peter had always been comfortable, the kind that only two people that truly understood each other rejoiced in. But you didn’t like the silence that followed after Peter’s words. His eyes bloodshot, and the lips you absolutely adored wobbling.
“He said your name, Y/N..” Peter continued with his shaky voice. “Said he knew you.. that you were my weakness.. and then I was filled with so much rage I lost control and he still got away.”
“Oh, Peter.” You cried. Tears were now falling down your face too as you cradled Peter in your arms. He was bigger than you, but right now, a scared boy shivered in your embrace.
You could never be mad at him. Not truly. And you understood where he was coming from. You would find yourself doing the same thing if you two switched places.
The two of you continued to hug each other in the dark, with silent tears running down your faces. But by the time you felt each other’s breathing to calm down, you two got up from the carpeted floor and you helped Peter get dressed.
It was quiet when you helped him out of his suit that smelled like smoke and into some fresh pairs of sweatpants and corny graphic t-shirt that he left by your place.
Eventually, you two settled on your bed, with Peter resting his head on your chest and you running your fingers through his chocolate curls. The silence was better this time around. But still, words need to be said and this was not some argument you two could just set aside for another day.
“Please don’t leave me.” You whispered and you felt Peter tense up.
“Never.” He found himself saying. But it was true. Peter could never leave you, no matter the circumstance.
“I love you so much, Pete..” You started. “And the guy from earlier was probably just some lowlife loser who starts fires with cheap hardware store gas.”
Peter’s contagious laugh rang softly in your ears and you continued your little speech. “So who the fuck cares about what he says? You’re a goddamn Avenger.”
Peter lifted his head and rested his chin by your stomach, “Yeah, but..”
“No buts, Parker,” You tutted. “I can kick some ass myself, ya know?”
Your boyfriend laughed once again and Peter found himself hovering over you. He placed a kiss on your nose as he laced one of your hands together.
“And I can teach you some sweet Spiderman moves.” Peter smiled against your lips and you found yourself mirroring his expression.
“I’m sorry. I’m an idiot for trying to break up with you.”
“There’s nothing to be sorry for, Pete.” You reassured him, squeezing his hand that was holding yours for extra measure.
You two fell asleep in each other’s arms after mindless talking and soft lingering kisses on each other’s lips. It was a cold summer night but Peter was right there, keeping your brittle heart warm.

Pairings: Wade Wilson x Peter Parker Summary: Ever since Vanessa, Wade had been scorned from even a friendly shoulder touch even when he was in the suit. Peter realises this. Whumptober no.6: touch and go Notes: touch starved wade, college!peter parker, not as angsty, but the whump’s there. masterlist
Watching Wade Wilson was a pastime that Peter had come to love.
Ever since meeting him a few weeks ago, he had been drawn to the man, watching from afar as he tried to work up the courage to speak to him once more.
Upon spying (Ned had called it stalking but he had quickly stated that he didn't seek the masked man out, instead only watching him when he naturally came across him in the city. The word was quickly changed to ‘pool spotting’, and Peter had grudgingly complied.) on Wade, he had managed to come to three conclusions.
Number one: Wade Wilson was a creature of habit. Despite his seemingly erratic movements, he would always buy food from the same three places - if he didn’t already have a pre-cooked meal in his hello kitty lunchbox. Peter had at first wondered if that meant that Wade had someone at home who cooked for him, but after a very loud conversation on a roof with someone called ‘yellow’ and ‘white’, knew for certain that he was “painfully alone and in desperate need of a quick fuck or someone to hold”. He especially loved his Mexican food, often returning to his favourite roof top with two bulging bags of of the stuff.
Number two: Wade kills, and he does it a concerning amount. Normally, whenever Peter was on his pool spotting expeditions and he saw him getting his katanas out (he had once heard him call them Bea and Arthur), he would swing by, web up the bad guy, and swing away while shouting some different iteration of ‘don’t kill him, please!’. He would later hear people talking about others Deadpool had killed once he had gone home, though the webbed ones were never touched. Peter prided himself on his very anti-killing stance, but something about Wade made him curious - enough to put his moral code on the backburner and instead feel the need to help him change for the better.
Number three, and arguably the most important: He had never seen anyone touch him. Sure, people had thrown punches, violently approached him, but never once had he seen anyone touch him with anything less than hate. This is what finally convinced Peter to approach him.
“Hey Webs”
Wade was sat with his legs overhanging the roof of the building, mask half pulled up over his face and a burrito halfway to his mouth.
Peter took a deep breath before he spoke, settling his nerves, “Hi Wade.”
“Aaah, he speaks! How are you doing baby boy.”
Peter flushed at the nickname, face heating up under his mask, “Uhh -”
Wade let out a laugh, placing his burrito down and pulling his mask back over his face before turning to face him, “Well, he tries to speak.” Wade tilted his head to the side slightly, patting the surface next to him, waiting until Peter sat beside him, “I’ve been seeing you around a lot, but we haven’t really spoken since the last - no Yellow I’m not trying to guilt him - shut up White.
Peter just looked at him.
“Sorry - it’s the boxes-” Deadpool said, with a strong jersey accent, waving his hands around his head animatedly, “You wouldn’t get that reference, shame. I love Margot Robbie.”
“Who?”
“Oh, Webs” Deadpool sighed, patting his masked cheek condescendingly, “The world of joy you’re missing out on.”
That’s another thing that Peter found out after hanging out around Deadpool for a few months - he would instigate touch, but shy away whenever Peter would go to return it, shrugging it off with a quick joke or pun.
-
It was on the third month of knowing Deadpool that Peter decided he would address it. The two of them had become extremely close, and Peter had found himself trusting the older man quicker than he ever had before. It was only one day at Stark tower during a quick drop-in visit to see Tony, that the billionaire had pointed out how quickly Peter had become comfortable with him.
“Webs, webs, webs. To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you today?”
Peter smiled, sitting cross-legged beside Wade as he unloaded the two bags of Mexican food. “Just wanted to see your gorgeous face, as always.”
“Always a charmer - and a beautiful liar at that.”
“How do you know I’m beautiful? For all you know I could look like a troll under this mask and you’d never know.”
Wade’s mask warped as he raised his eyebrow, “With an ass that phat? Baby boy, you’re nothing short of an angel.”
He wouldn’t know why he had done this until many years after the fact, looking back in hindsight. Peter had let out a small laugh, and ripped his mask of with a grin, “Well damn Wade, someone would think that you’re sweet talking me.”
Wade went quiet - something Peter had never known him to be - and sat back heavily. At the silence, the younger man’s smile dropped slightly, turning more nervous, “Is this a case of ‘if you’ve got nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all’ type-a deal?”
“No.” the answer was so fast that Peter let a nervous laugh escape, “You’re - you look better than every wet dream I’ve had about you combined.”
Peter laughed loudly at that, relief making his head feel slightly woozy, raking his hands through his curly hair.
“I’m not kidding - I mean I knew your body was good - but your face! ” Wade’s voice was higher than it normally was, disbelief clear in his tone, “You gotta body of a stripper and face of an angel, y’know that?”
“Wade-”
“And you blush pretty too, it’s like god took every one of my dirty fantasies -” Wade’s rant was cut off as Peter placed a hand on his shoulder, eyes widening at the soft touch, “Webs -?”
“Peter,” he smiled, moving his free hand to slowly start removing his mask, “My name’s Peter.”
Wade repeated it like a prayer, so distracted by the feel of the letters on his lips that he didn’t even move to stop the action. Peter let his finger brush against the textured skin of his cheek, Wade going completely still at the contact.
“Pete... what are you doing?”
He just smiled, moving his other hand to cup the other side of his cheek as he lifted the mask all of the way off. “Beautiful.” The one word seemed to strike Wade at his core, the man melting in to his hand before coming to his senses and pulling back slightly.
“You are,” he insisted, “fuck anyone who says anything else.”
“Oooh, little spidey used the f-word.”
Peter shot him an unimpressed look, “Wade.”
The mercenary just huffed, seemingly losing the internal battle against himself and the boxes as he let himself relax in to Peter’s hands once more. The younger man just watched as Wade’s body seemed to completely loosen, as if he was crumbling right before his eyes.
As if on delayed time, Wade’s eyes began to water, “I - I don’t know why-”
“It’s ok, Wade,” Peter said, instantly moving closer and enveloping him in a hug, taking the full weight as he relaxed completely into the hold, “It’s ok.”
Peter just held him as he felt the merc’s tears wetting the front of his suit, slowly moving his hand up and down Wade’s back. The rhythmic motion seemed to lull both of them into a comfortable silence, one which was only broken by the sharp sudden breaths of the man in his arms.
Wade had been quiet for too long, eventually pulling slightly back from the hug but taking great care to keep contact, “If you can make me this weak with a hug, I cant wait for when you finally take me home and bang me into next year.”
“Wade!”
Sniggering, Wade leaned back into the hold, burying his face in Peter’s neck, “Well if you’re offering, I’m sure gonna make the most of it, Webs.”

summary: Tony’s heart has been working on overdrive since this whole thing started. Friday has a countdown clock plastered on the heads up display, but it feels like hieroglyphics to him at this point, like some ancient language he could never master.
Because when Peter Parker is missing, things start losing their meaning real quick.
“Should be around here,” Rhodey says on the com. May is still on the other line, listening in, because once a certain amount of time goes by without word from Peter, things move into Extremely Worried Aunt territory. They’re already in Tony Is Panicking territory, and when both of those territories overlap it’s never a good time for anybody.
Time? What the hell is time? His mind is blanking numbers out entirely. Minutes are seconds are hours are years.

Peter Parker and The Dry Erase Board Artist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/N: And here it is! Almost a whole month after I said I would have it done! I am so so so sorry for how long this took and also sorry for how shitty it also is. I hope you enjoy this trash fire that I just spent almost 4 hours on and finished at 1 am. Oh, I also made this gender neutral using they/them pronouns.
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: There’s a new mystery in Midtown, and it’s the creator of the dry erase board drawings. Peter is desperate to find out who it is even if it means losing sleep and missing assignments. What will it take to find out who this secret artist is?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peter knew all about mysteries. He used to stay up too late reading those mystery novels by flashlight when he should have been sleeping. He grew up loving them. The amount of times May would walk into the living room to see him once again binge watching Scooby Doo was uncountable. Even now, he prided himself on being one of the biggest mysteries in New York: Spider-Man. He had to hold back a grin whenever he heard people discuss who the masked hero could possibly be. The craziest one so far was that Spider-Man was actually an alien being used by the government. He wasn’t sure who came up with that one, but props to them for their creativity.
He just absolutely loved mysteries of all shapes and sizes, and now, he had a new one to solve: the drawings. He called it Operation Dry Erase Board, and yes, the name did need improvement. Both MJ and Ned made sure to tell him that every single time he brought it up. Ned had suggested The Search for the Hidden Artist, which MJ just said sounded even worse.
It had started a couple weeks ago. He had walked into his first period calculus class to see everyone whispering and taking pictures of the board. His first reaction was panic - his teacher was prone to surprise pop quizzes - but it soon turned to awe as he stared at the array of color across the board. It was a beautifully detailed portrait of the sea. He gazed upon the scene of manta rays and fish and even the silhouette of a shark. There was coral and shells of every color, and the lines and swirls of blue captivated him. There was no signature. Nobody knew who had done it.
At first, Peter just tried to brush it off. There was somebody in the school who was skilled with dry erase board markers and was very artistically gifted. Not the biggest deal, but good for them. It became a bigger deal when the next day a gorgeous rendition of Starry Night was covering the board of the biology classroom. Once again, no signature. That’s when Peter started to become invested.
He questioned MJ first. She was one of the only artists he knew, but she just scoffed. “I’m good, but dry erase markers are shit for me to work with.”
He started paying more attention in art class, looking for anyone with a similar style. Nothing. Everyone was your typical high school artist who was just there for the credits, meaning people like him. Don’t ask about how designing the first spidey suit went.
The drawings just kept coming. He soon saw space, dinosaurs, a jungle, The Mona Lisa, even each of the Avengers all spread across the dry erase boards. Each one of these was so beautiful and so alluring that it made his eyes sting and shouts of protest to erupt from the students when the teachers had to erase them. Even if they didn’t erase them, they were gone the next day. Whether it was the Hidden Artist or the janitor, Peter didn’t know. It was just another part in the mystery.
A lot of the drawings weren’t done in any classrooms that Peter had, meaning he would have to take field trips during his lunch period to go and find them. Most of the time he already knew where he was going. There was now a whole Instagram page dedicated to the art. It was run by Daphne, who was in both Yearbook and the Art Club. He had asked her if it was her, but she had just giggled and said she was a fan. Honestly, Peter was too.
He would stare at the art for as long as he could each time he saw it, and he stared at the pictures he took of them even longer. He was consumed by the art, by his love for it. He needed to find out who the artist was, but unfortunately for him it would have to wait. He was so preoccupied with being Spider-Man and now also being a shitty detective that he was falling behind on both his work and his sleep. He had now fallen asleep a total of five times over the course of a week and a half, and he was close to failing both AP Government and Spanish, simply because he wasn’t catching up on his workload.
Now, he was passed out in AP Lang, the one class that everyone knew not to fall asleep in. He couldn’t help it. He was running on a total of 4 hours for the week, and it was a Thursday. Not even his spidey sense could have prepared him for the crash of a ruler against a metal trash can right next to his ear. After nearly falling out of his chair and almost decking his teacher, Peter was given two weeks’ worth of detentions.
“Hopefully that’ll teach young Mr. Parker here to pay attention instead of dozing off in the middle of class. Maybe he’ll catch up on his missing assignments, too. Speaking of, would you like to tell the class which rhetorical devices you’ll be utilizing in your essay, Mr. Parker?” All Peter could do is stare back at his teacher, horror written over his face.
————————
It was 3:30 on a Wednesday, and Peter was losing his mind. Each of his detentions were an hour and a half long, lasting from 3:15 to 4:45. He had managed to catch himself up on his work and raise his grades a bit, but that didn’t change his predicament. He couldn’t go home or skip detention, meaning he was stuck at school for another hour and fifteen minutes. When he asked if he could do something, he was told he could go help the janitor. With a sigh, he got up and went in search of the janitor’s closet.
During the time spanning over his punishment, he had nearly forgotten about his obsession with the Hidden Artist. Of course he still saw and heard about the drawings and he would still stare when he saw them, but now with the need to focus on his assignments being drilled into his brain every day on top of trying to stop bad guys each night, he was forced to move on. He didn’t want to. God, if he had the chance he’d stare at those drawings for hours on end, but he didn’t have that chance. It fucking sucked.
After a couple minutes of searching, he finally found the closet. He grabbed a broom and looked around, and to his left, there was a classroom with the door slightly open. With a heavy sigh, he walked towards the room and pushed the door open, only to stop dead. There, across the room, was a brand new drawing, and it was a drawing of him. Not him him, of course, but a drawing of Spider-Man. It was a drawing of an event he recognized from yesterday when he had walked a lost kid back to their parents. The drawing showed him crouched down in front of the kid who was crying, and he had his hand out as an offer for the child to take it.
Upon closer inspection, the drawing seemed incomplete. There were too many white spaces which wasn’t the artist's style. As he stepped closer to it, he heard the door creak and a gasp behind him. He spun around, nearly falling over in the process, and looked up wildly. His eyebrows furrowed when he saw Y/n L/n, a student in his grade. They stared back at him with wide eyes.
“Did...did you do this?” Peter asked slowly. Y/n hesitantly nodded.
“If you tell anyone about this, Parker, you’re dead.”
He was slightly taken aback by this. Not the death threat, necessarily, he got those all the time, but it was a bit of a surprise coming from Y/n.
“I won’t. I promise,” he said softly.
Y/n nodded slightly before striding towards the board and taking out a marker, beginning to fill in all of the white spaces Peter had noticed earlier.
After a moment, Peter asked, “How do you do it?”
Y/n turned towards him, black marker clutched in their hand. “What?”
“The drawings. They’re so beautiful...I didn’t even know you could draw like that.”
“Everyone has their secrets, Parker. I’m sure you have yours.”
Peter almost laughed at that, because yeah, he did, and Y/n was drawing it across the Physics dry erase board. But he didn’t laugh. He just smiled a little and kept watching, forgetting all about the broom that was now leaning against a desk.
“So...Spider-Man huh?”
Y/n sighed and turned to him. “Why are you still here? Shouldn’t you be sweeping or something?”
Peter shrugged. “Or something. Look, this is probably gonna sound super weird, but I’ve been trying to figure out who you were for weeks. Your art is super amazing and cool and I just wanted to know so badly who was talented enough to pull it off. And now I know.”
“Are you disappointed?” It wasn’t a question out of fear, but more out of curiosity. Y/n sat themselves on a desk and waited for the answer.
“I don’t think so,” Peter said. “This was just unexpected, I guess. I didn’t even consider you for a suspect.” Y/n chuckled at this.
“Nobody suspects me. That’s the fun part of all of this, actually. Did you know people actually thought that it was Ms. Rosemary for a while?”
“The crazy teacher’s aid?”
“Yup. The theory, I think, was that she was so crazy that art became like her therapy or escape or whatever. I mean, it can be like therapy, but I think Rosemary needs a little more than some doodles in order to help her.”
“These aren’t just ‘some doodles,’ Y/n. They’re-”
“Beautiful. Yeah, you’ve said.” They shrugged. “It’s just scribbles on a board, Parker. Scribbles that, for whatever reason, make our brains happy.”
Peter didn’t really have a response to that, so instead he just watched as Y/n went back to work.
————————
That was how he would spend his detentions. He would offer to go help the janitor, and then he would run around the school trying to find Y/n. Eventually, on the days where the drawings took less time to create, Y/n started to try to teach him how to draw. Basic things at first, like flowers or trying to break things down into their simpler shapes. He could barely do either of those things, but he enjoyed trying anyways. On other days, Peter would just sit and watch in silence as they drew. It was mesmerizing, and only he got to witness it.
It became their thing. Even after detentions ended, Peter would stay after school for an hour or so just to go hang out with Y/n. They would have snacks and play music and have a good time. Peter learned that Y/n stayed after school since their parents were never home until the late evenings, so they stayed back just for the hell of it. He also learned that they were good friends with the janitor and that his name was Roger. He was the reason that they were even able to stay for as long as they did. It was pretty cool.
It was a Friday, and Peter was spinning around in the teacher’s chair while Y/n drew a forest scene. Peter watched them for a while, a small smile on his face. They were also so concentrated when they worked, their eyes narrowing and jaw tightening as they drew the different lines and curves that made up the masterpiece. Unbeknownst to Y/n, Peter had a surprise for them.
“Hey, N/n?” Peter asked. All he got was a hum in response. He rolled his eyes. “Come here.”
Y/n sighed and got off of the stool that they had been sitting on. “What do you want, Pete?” they asked as they strolled over, leaning over the desk when they got close enough. In response, Peter held up a small, wrapped up bundle. Y/n’s eyebrows furrowed as they picked it up.
“What-”
“Shhhh!” Peter said with a soft giggle. “Just open it.”
Y/n narrowed their eyes at him before slowly tearing the paper away. They smiled softly as they stared at the multipack of dry erase markers, enough colors to make practically any drawing that happened to cross their mind.
“Why?”
“A simple thank you would have sufficed. It’s an appreciation gift for all of your art. I figured by now you’ve probably killed most of the markers in the school, so I got you some new ones.”
Y/n chuckled a little and looked at him. “Thank you.”
“Of course. You deserve it.”
“I literally just make colored lines one a board.”
“And I appreciate those colored lines! They give me serotonin as do you.”
“I give you serotonin?”
“Yes.”
Y/n blinked in surprise. “Alright then...you also give me serotonin.”
“Really? Awesome.”
They both laughed for a moment, Y/n glancing back down at the markers as Peter continued to look at them.
“Hey, Pete?” Y/n asked as they looked back up at him. “What?”
“Would you...would you like to continue to provide me with serotonin and go out with me?”
Peter’s eyes widened in surprise, but soon it was his smile that was widening instead.
“Absolutely.”

The weekend passed, and due to final exams, I was holed up in my room most of the time. That’s what was nice about rooming with Hermione, I could cook my own food—the Muggle way—and she wouldn’t tell on me. Ramen was a lifesaver as we studied.
I hadn’t heard form Draco at all. Part of me wondered if he figured it out. The letter he wrote to me was getting worn form the amount of times that I unfolded and refolded it each time I reread his words.
The boys did coax us both down to dinner Sunday night, however. They weren’t quite convinced that I was fine and were still at my defense despite my change in mood and constant protests. In fact, it seemed like every Gryffindor in our year and then some were ready at my defense.
“Do you want us to sneak a doxy into his room?” Fred offered. “We’ll do it. Free of charge.”
“No, I’m okay, really,”
“We could do it anyway,” George suggested.
“No,” I said firmly as we sat in the Great Hall.
Dinner came and passed, and I didn’t have to look over my shoulder for Draco because Ron and Harry were doing a great job of that already. There was no way I was going to be able to walk to Draco with this... protection squad hovering—and not listening to me when I said I was fine.
My heart did flutter as both Harry and Ron tensed, glaring at the door to the Hall. A smile found its way to my face as I turned, finding clam blue eyes.
“I’ll get him,” Harry said, getting up from the table and Ron following suit.
“Guys, wait, no!” I scrambled to get up, tripping over my robes before righting myself, a few paces behind them, Hermione at my heels.
The students who were in the Hall also noticed what was going on and all looked our way. Some stood to get a better look. This was going to get very bad very fast if someone didn’t do something. And, apparently, I had to be that someone.
“You have some nerve Malfoy!” Harry sneered, drawing his wand.
My adrenaline spiked as Draco kept his cool, keeping his eyes on me. I tried to tell him that this wasn’t my idea and that they didn’t know and that I would fix this, but maybe that was too much to tell him in one look.
I caught up to Harry and pushed past him. Turning and facing Harry—the same way that Draco had done for me against Pansy—I glared him down.
“What are you doing!?” I demanded. “I told you! It was fine!”
“But he hurt you! He deserves this!” Harry exclaimed.
“Pansy was the one who made me cry not Draco!” I laid out. “He... He protected me from her,”
Harry gaped at me and so did Ron, Hermione was beaming. There was a rumbling through the students who had gathered around us. Why did I keep finding myself in these situations?
“No way, I don’t believe it,” Harry hissed. “Malfoy would never, and not for you.”
“And how would you know!?” I demanded. “You’re so absorbed in yourself that you never stop to look, or think, or ask questions!”
“So now you’re taking his side!?” Harry fumbled.
I scoffed and threw my hands up in exasperation.
“Why does there have to be sides!? Why do we have to fight!?”
“He’s a Slytherin!”
“Great! And I’m a Pisces! What does it matter!” I annunciated each word, taking a few calming breaths. “He deserves to be helped and loved as much as you do Harry,” My voice was barely audible.
Now Harry was glaring me down, his anger shifting from Draco to me, which was fine, I could handle Harry easy—Golden Boy or not.
There was a hand on my shoulder.
I turned, meeting Draco’s eyes.
“I’m not worth this.” He murmured softly. “Don’t... not because of me.”
He was so close now. I could feel the fear and desperation almost tangibly as he pleaded with me to back down, and maybe that broke me more. For him to think that he wasn’t worth saving. That he wasn’t worth fighting for.
“Did you figure it out?” I asked softly, completely ignoring Harry and the others behind me. Draco held my focus now. “Who sent me the letter and who I told my mother about?”
He nodded and looked down. How could he know that he was the one that I had chosen, and he still didn’t think it was right for me to fight for him?
“What? Is Malfoy jealous over who you’re crushing on?” Ron jeered and the crowd snickered.
Draco turned red, gritting his teeth, I saw his hand reach for his wand, but I beat him to it and drew mine. Spinning around, almost hissing at Ron, everyone backed away from me, sensing the danger I assumed.
“I don’t think he can be jealous,” I snapped, tilting my chin back. “But the rest of you can,”
Without much thought or time in the moments between, I grabbed Draco’s hand and pulled him closer. I met his eyes for an instant, and I could see and feel the coolness of a lake, the refreshing wave of the ocean. There was an electric current between us.
I brought my hand to cup his face ever so gently—grimacing when he flinched as if I was going to hit him—and quickly pressed my lips to his. He froze under my touch but relaxed almost instantly, which was a bit shocking, but comforting. His hands rested on my waist and he pulled me a step closer.
His lips were soft and hesitant on mine. The electric current didn’t wane, instead it seemed to be stronger than before. It was better than what any potion could offer, or spell could conjure.
I had to pull away in fear that I might spend all night kissing him.
The situation around us settled back in, and though neither of us could keep the smiles off our faces it was Draco who spoke before I could.
“If anyone has anything they’d like to say, you’ll answer to both of us,” There was smugness and pride in his voice as he said ‘us.’
I couldn’t lie, I liked it too.
The crowd broke out into mutters and whispers, some of which were encouraging, some baffled, and some downright cruel—most of which came from either Gryffindor or Slytherin. My hand found Draco’s as an anchor in the midst of it all, not sure what was coming next.
Harry stormed off and Ron gave an apologetic look before going after him and Hermione followed suit. As much as I was alright on standing on my own, their absence hurt.
“Mr. Malfoy! Miss Lupine! My office! Now!” It was McGonagall.
My heart sank as the students scattered in fear of also getting in trouble for something that they may or may not have done. It left Draco and me alone walking to McGonagall’s office under her gaze. Somewhere along the way Snape caught up to us, and to my surprise, Dumbledore.
I gave Draco an apologetic look, but his face was a mask of calm and indifference—courage in the face of danger. I followed his lead as we sat in McGonagall’s office as the three discussed what to do with us outside the door.
“Why didn’t you tell me it was me? When we were on the stairs?” He asked softly.
I shrugged.
“I don’t think I was ready,” I admitted. “It was... a hard day.”
“Sorry again,” He mumbled sheepishly.
We sat side by side together, waiting for whatever was about to happen. I feared for the worst and I could tell do did Draco. The memory of his lips on mine however, kept me somewhat same and comforted.
“I’m sorry I dragged you into all of this,” I whispered. “This is all my fault,”
“No, it’s not Y/n. You know that,” He argued. “I had a good part in it too.”
“I should have just left it alone,” Tears were in my eyes as I started to realize the gravity of the situation.
“No,” He said firmly, catching my eyes. “You’re right, this has gone on too long.”
Again, his hand slipped into mine and I felt grounded. It was odd, finding comfort in someone that I had hated only a few months ago.
The three Professors came down and we dropped our hands quickly, as we both looked down.
“It has come to our attention that you two have caused quite a bit of trouble,” Dumbledore began.
“Please, sir. It was me. Not her.” Draco stood, taking a small step in front of me.
Shock flitted across the faces of the professors, and mine. I didn’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that.
“No, it was me. I’m the one who kissed him and provoked Harry.” I stood next to him, almost pushing him out of the way. “Whatever punishment... I’ll take it in full... even if that means expulsion.” My voice wavered as the words slipped out.
“Y/n,” Draco protested and turned to me.
“Your dad will kill you in you get in trouble because of me,” I argued. “And... I can’t let that happen. So... please, Draco,”
I didn’t know what I was asking for exactly, but I knew that if his father found out... he’d be in worse trouble than whatever the school could come up with.
“No, forget about my father. I don’t care what he thinks. You’re not talking all the fault. I won’t let you,”
I bit my lip, thousands of words wanting to escape them just as the tears that threatened to fall. Why hadn’t I seen this in him before? Why hadn’t anyone?
Draco Malfoy could be good. He could be selfless. He could be loved.
“If I may,” Dumbledore began again. “Neither of you are in trouble nor are you getting expelled.”
“What?” We both snapped, turning to the three professors.
Hope fluttered in my chest, that maybe once we would both be okay. That we could both make it out of here.

Out in the hall...
“Has it happened?” Dumbledore asked. “The legacy?”
“Yes,” McGonagall confirmed. “I got a letter from her mother early Saturday to keep an eye out, and I saw it tonight at dinner.”
“You believe that these two are the ones to end the feud?” Snape asked cautiously.
“Something much darker than us all is coming Severus,” Dumbledore sighed. “And they might be the ones we need to stop it.”
“But I don’t understand why stopping an old family feud solves anything.” Snape hissed.
“Because it’s not a family feud, it’s a house feud and always has been. For too long Slytherin and Gryffindor have been pitched against one another unhealthily and perhaps this can right what has been wrong for so long,” McGonagall noted hopefully.
............................
“Miss Lupine, you should be expecting a letter from your mother soon. I suggest you both read it together and decide for yourselves whether you want to accept what is in it or not.” Dumbledore explained.
“What kind of letter?” I prompted and McGonagall gave me a scolding look as Dumbledore simply smile.
“Oh, you are so much like your mother,” His eyes twinkled. “Give her my best and please remember, each of you are more than a name,”
_________________________
Draco walked down the hall with you beside him. He couldn’t think of a thing to say. There were too many to say. There was too much to talk about and it was driving him mad that you were lost in thought.
“Any ideas on where to go? To read the letter?” You finally spoke.
Your voice sounded unsure and afraid, with a nervousness that came with expectation. He had never heard you speak like that. You were always so sure of yourself—courageous, like any proper Gryffindor.
But now, your eyes filled with tears and worry. Your arms were crossed across your chest, as if they had the ability to keep you together if you held on tight enough. He knew that you never showed anyone this side of you—not even that Mudb- your friend Hermione. Because he never showed anyone either.
“Come with me,” He said, not giving anything away and led you through the castle wordlessly.
You followed him without a protest, a quip, snide remark, or question. And he couldn’t lie, it was nice; it worried him too, being afraid wasn’t in your nature.
Taking a sharp right, he paused, opening the door for you. You quirked an eyebrow and a teasing smile. You knew where he led you and it amused you, he could see it in your features. That was the you he knew.
You ascended the staircase and through the trapdoor with him at your heels. You faltered one and he caught you easily—knowing it would happen: it was the reason he had made you go before him—your cheeks turning a deep red as you quickened your pace.
Alone in the Astronomy Tower, Draco saw a small screech owl awaiting the two of you, letter attached. It was the same owl who had given him your letter all those nights ago, it must be yours.
You didn’t go to the owl—even though it chirped at you annoyed. Instead, you went to the window and stared at what he did almost every night that he couldn’t sleep: the stars blanketed over the mountain range and the lake as night consumed the world around them.
Knowing that you would want to gaze for some time, he took the letter for the owl and shooed it off, but it remained.
“I’ll give you something later Penelope, thank you,” You cooed softly stroking the birds head gently before it flew off.
Unsure of his actions, Draco stood close beside you, watching the night unfold with you. Your hand found his and his thoughts about what needed to be answered or what the letter held paused. Your warmth invited him in, lured him to be still and just... feel.
“I’m scared,” The confession left your lips. “I’ve been waiting my whole life for my mother to tell me what this fight was all about and now...” You turned to him, true despair on your face.
“Whatever it is, we do it together,” He murmured, “Remember, we get to choose if we want to accept it or not,”
“But don’t we have to?” Your thoughts mirrored his: he had expectations to live up to and he wanted to prove himself to his father and his family.
“We’ll see,” He reached up and stroked your face softly.
You pursed your lips as he offered you the letter. You took it and with one last hopeless look to him you opened it and read it aloud:
~
My dearest Y/n, and charming Draco,
I hope this letter finds you both well. I have written to each of your House Heads letting them know to give you time to read this together if fate allows.
Y/n, my darling, please stop your fretting, I can feel it from here. You are alright no matter what you choose, but I do hope you choose the path of love.
Draco, hello, we haven’t met formally, but I must thank you for standing up for my daughter against one of your own house. It was a brave and kind thing to do and you have my deepest respect.
Now, about the feud. I know you have asked many times what it has always been about and perhaps it is time to finally tell you:
Our families have always been intertwined in the fate of the wizarding world as pure-blood families. Long ago, it was said that one of Lupine and one of Malfoy decent would be the ones to mend the rift between pure-bloods and muggle-born.
You can see why this caused such a feud. I’m sure even now Mr. Draco you are thinking that this is preposterous, and perhaps you as well my child. For how can two pure-bloods whom hate another possible med anything?
Well, no one knows. And no one wanted to know either. The Malfoy’s were always against muggle-born and swore vengeance on them all. The Lupine’s have always been proud and swore to never fraternize with a Malfoy. Centuries and generations passed, and our stories have been twisted and distorted to what you know today.
I did try my love to keep you away as best I could from it, but some things are very deep rooted, and I am sorry that I failed you. But now it comes to you two.
From what I have heard from you my darling, it sounds as if Mr. Draco may be the one you were meant for. It was once called Consentire Animi Pace—an old thought that souls reached for another to bring harmony in the world around them through magic.
I am not forcing this upon either you, nor am I making assumptions. I would just like you both to know that it does exist and not to deny that it does and that it may be what our Antiqui were speaking of when the legacy was given.
My darling Y/n, I am proud of you no matter your choice and I love you without a doubt. I am proud of your achievements and your courage to reach out to someone you had no reason to reach out to.
My dear Draco, I am proud of you no matter your choice and I extend my love to you as well. I know that your parents are not as forgiving when it comes to family names as I am. You will have a home in our family—whether that be Y/n and I or the entire family if they decide to stop being so... Anyway. I am proud of you as well and for what you have done. You had no reason to protect my daughter and you did and I am proud of you on that fact alone. You have truly exceeded your expectations, whether your father sees that or not.
Don’t not be afraid of what is before you nor the choices that you must make. It is not about the right choice; it is about the righteous one—the one made with the right heart. It is easier to correct ignorance rather than disobedience.
My love goes to you both, both of you write me back please.
Love, Magdalene Lupine

Where’d You Ghost? || Nadia & Sammy
TIMING: Before the Exorcism PARTIES: @humanmoodring and Sammy (the fantastic @chloeinbetween) SUMMARY: Two ghost play pranks and have a heart to heart. Or, as much of one as can be had without a heartbeat. CONTENT: It’s kinda soft, actually
Sammy wondered, as him and Nadia walked into the cafe, if there was going to be a point when he just forgot what walls were. Like sure, they stopped you seeing things, but walking through them was just like walking through air. Someday, he’d probably ask Blanche to follow him somewhere, and lead her straight into a dead end without even realising. But this was nice. It was early afternoon but the sun was setting so early at the moment that the everything had a cool pink hue to it, and when they floated inside the cafe, everything became warm and orange. While he preferred spending his time around Ariana even when she couldn’t see him, Nadia had been right, they needed some space, and Blanche needed some space for her poor ghost spidey-senses. “Is that her on the left?” he whispered, even though there was no way anyone could hear him, being dead and all.
Even though they said they didn’t mind, Nadia knew that she couldn’t spend all of her time `bothering Blanche and Regan, and, after the whole thing with Luce and the mirror, Nadia just wanted to be around someone who understood, who wasn’t going to suddenly stop seeing her, and who wasn’t going to get overwhelmed by her presence. Of the other two ghost frequently occupying… not space but time in Blanche’s apartment, Sammy was certainly the more approachable. He was easy to talk to and he wanted to have fun in ways that she’d never really been able to, even as a kid. “That’s her,” she murmured back, matching, looking over at the barista with a small frown. Not only had the girl judged her for the amount of caffeine she’d been drinking and the odd hours she kept (she was aware, Bethany, okay? No need to point it out), she’d also been really rude when Nadia had fallen asleep at one of the tables on accident. She’d never targeted any of the other patrons like that, and Nadia hadn’t really been able to understand it. She’d been bullied out of getting her coffee, dammit. So what if she wanted just a little payback and fun?
“Cool, cool cool cool. Let’s uh… Let’s show her. Without, like, compromising anyone else’s health or anything.” Pranks had limits, after all, and although Sammy felt an increasing urge to act out to get any kind of attention, he didn’t actually want to injure anyone. But pranking someone to help Nadia feel better, that was right up his alley. At first, Sammy began to sneak up to the till, before remembering that… there was no point in sneaking. He straightened up sheepishly, passing right through the counter. What should he do? After freezing in indecision for a moment, Sammy knocked the milk jug, hard enough for some to splash onto the counter. Bethany spun and sighed, telling the customer to just give her a moment.
Laughing at Sammy’s antics, Nadia followed along behind him, no longer even pausing as she phased through the counter. This was going to be a problem if… when she got her body back. Because she was getting it back. She was. She smirked a bit as the milk spilled, and the frustration was clear enough on Bethany’s face that even a non-empath could see it. “Smooth, Sammy,” she told the younger ghost. As Bethany set back to work, Nadia managed to tug hard enough on the strings of the girl’s apron that it came undone, causing it to fly open and disrupt her work. Cursing and holding a cup in her hand, Bethany struggled to try and tie it with only one hand, failing spectacularly in the process. Nadia didn’t consider herself a cruel person, and she didn’t like causing people problems but this… was kind of funny, and there was a certain sense of satisfaction that came along with it. She smiled at Sammy, glad to be able to spend time with someone that understood.
“Hey! I’m impressed I even managed to move it at all.” Sammy protested, but it was with a lopsided grin on his face. A few weeks ago even that had been hard. For someone who had been so physical in life, always shaping things with his hands, he’d found doing the same thing as a ghost impossibly hard. It was easier when Nadia was around, like there was some secret trick for him to figure out just by watching and feeling her doing it. Bethany tied back the ribbons of her apron, and set about making the small coffee she’d just been requested. When she turned her back, Sammy jabbed at the large button until it clicked… and then it jammed. “Shit,” he whispered, watching the coffee begin to overflow.
“Honestly?” Nadia asked, offering the young man a small smile, “I’m pretty impressed, too. You’re getting a lot better.” They both were, though Nadia didn’t take nearly as much pleasure in it. Sure, it was nice to be able to move things, to be validated in her existence, but it was also… hard. The better she got at it, the more comfortable she was with being like this, the harder readjusting would come, if she ever got to that point. The more she thought about the exorcism, the more she learned about it reading over Regan’s shoulder, the more she wondered about her own survival. She’d already been exorcised from her own body. What if she was exorcised from this plane, too? What if the wrong soul was destroyed? She was jerked out of such melancholic thoughts by the sounds of machinery breaking and Sammy cursing. “Fuck,” she said, attempting to fix the button but jamming her arm into the machine instead, causing lights to blink and noises to go off. “Fuck.” Nadia looked at Sammy with wide, panicked eyes. “We should, uh, leave. We should go. Right now.”
“Oh shit,” Sammy breathed as Nadia made more sparks fly. “I didn’t mean to jam it,” he whispered urgently, as if the woman standing half through him might hear him. “I just wanted to make her overfill one drink.” His panic made a nearby light flicker, and, wide eyed, he hurried out of the store, until he was outside and all his jittery energy did was make the snow around him melt. He looked at Nadia once, twice, and then fell through the floor in nervous laughter. “She definitely noticed that,” he commented drolly. “You okay?”
“It’s all good. This is all good. It’s totally fine,” Nadia tried to reassure the younger ghost, but she followed him out the door all the same, leaving chaos in their wake as they went. Well, their little prank might have gone a bit overboard, but… it had been kind of fun. And they’d both proven that they were getting better with their ghostly abilities, for what that was worth. If Nadia did end up stuck like this, at least she was proving she wouldn’t be an invalid. “What? Nah, I don’t think she did,” she teased Sammy, a smirk on her face as he fell into the ground while she just barely hovered above. “On the bright side, I don’t think she’ll get fired for a bunch of random techno mishaps.” She moved to sit, legs pulled up and arms resting over her knees as snow fell through her. “I’m fine. Really. Thanks for this. It was,” she paused, laughing, “something.”
“No I think she’s fine. Just pissed off, which serves her right if what you’ve been saying is true.“ Sammy ran his fingers through his hair, grimacing as he remembered exactly why he shouldn’t do that. Even Dad, he could feel the texture of his injuries. Quickly dropping his hand he laughed again, smiling up at Nadia. “It really was,” Sammy agreed with a chuckle. A man in a bright burgundy work suit strolled through the two of them before going into the cafe. As the door swung open,Sammy heard the manager apologising to customers for the technical difficulties. “Come, let’s sit somewhere else,” he said, leveraging himself out of the ground and wandering aimlessly to look for a quieter area. Not knowing where one might be. “Blanche would’ve liked to see that, if she weren’t, you know.”
“Honestly, I think she’s deserves a bad day or two at work.” Nadia frowned at the coffee shop as the man walked through the door, but at least the mess was getting cleaned. Looking back at Sammy, she felt a bit of an ache, as close to pain as she could get like this, as she watched him struggle with his injuries. She didn’t anything discernable, just the same stained clothes and muddied boots she’d been wearing for months, and she knew that he didn’t hurt, but, God, it looked painful. But she got up and followed after Sammy, the two of them strolling through town companionably, no one paying them any mind because, well, why would they? They were just two ghosts. She looked over at him sadly. “I know she would have, but…” She didn’t know what to say. She hated seeing the younger girl like this, sad and heartbroken, especially when Nadia didn’t even have to be an empath to get it. She would have had to be blind to not see the way Blanche looked at Constance. Of course it was gonna end bad, but, hell, she wished it hadn’t been like that. “I don’t really know what to do to help, you know? She’s just-- Fuck, this just sucks.”
“It really fucking does,” Sammy agreed quietly. “I feel like I shouldn’t even be around her, because it’s a lot for her when we’re even nearby. I mean, Constance freaked me the fuck out, and she always felt like she was on the edge, like some kind of livewire, but she… she had her moments.” He couldn’t even say anything like I can’t believe she poltered, because he could believe it. Constance had always been… casually terrifying, but she’d also been nice at times. She looked like she belonged on a long stroll on an episode of Pride and Prejudice, but maybe also on the set of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, because of the many knives he imagined she’d have hiding in her stockings if her stockings had been… real. “I’ve always been a hugger, and now I can’t even offer Blanche that.”
“I know,” Nadia said. “i’m worried about her after all of this. I… tended to stay away from Constance.” She gave him a wry smile. “Real bad experiences with redheads, you know, especially ghosts.” The whole reason, she believed, that Cordelia had been able to get Nadia in her ghostly grasp was because Nadia kept thinking she was seeing someone that she wasn’t. “I was scared something like this would happen, but I’d hoped, I’d hoped, it wouldn’t, you know?” But she’d lived with Cordelia in her head for months, and she’d felt her poltergeist. When Sammy said that Constance felt like a livewire, he wasn’t joking, and Nadia knew all too well what happened to livewire ghosts. She wished it hadn’t come to this, though. Not for Blanche. She sighed. “Ghost, right? Good for pulling great pranks, not so much for comforting people. God, what I wouldn’t give to actually just be able to touch someone, something, right now.” She attempted to scuff her boot against the ground and only succeeded watching her foot disappear.
He matched her wry smile. “We talked a couple times, but her whole magic tree house, narnia way of speaking and my rambling and tiktok slang didn’t really match up all that well,” Sammy said ruefully. “I hoped… I think… I think Blanche was too optimistic. I’m not sure Constance would have ever moved on, you know? She had a pinterest of horrible ways to murder people. I just… didn’t think it would be this fast.” He rubbed the spot where his eyes might be. “I tried to warn her, before. Because even in the best outcome, Blanche would be alone. And…… this is the worst case situation.” Instinctively again, he reached for Nadia’s hand, but they could affect each other as much as they could affect anyone else in this world, which was to say, not at all. “But maybe you will soon, right?” He asked softly.
Laughing, Nadia said, “She did sound like a Jane Austen novel, didn’t she? Though, I gotta tell you, I’m still not sure what tiktok is.” But she was fond of Sammy’s ramblings and weird phrases. It was enjoyable, and it made her feel younger. It had been awhile since she’d felt, like, actually young. “She was but… I didn’t want to talk her out of it, and I know you didn’t want to talk her out of it. She felt so guilty about what happened with me and-- and Cordelia. Of course she didn’t want to see it happening to Constance, especially not Constance.” Hell, Nadia hadn’t wanted it to happen to Constance. She sighed. “I know you did. And this… I know. God, I fucking know.” She gave Sammy a sad smile, wishing that she could take the boy’s hand. She swallowed, tightly. “Yeah, soon.” She bit her lip, wishing she could feel it. “If-- If it goes well, I want you to still come see me, okay? I can see and hear ghosts, somewhat, in my body. And if it doesn’t… I’ll still be around, right?” She didn’t dare mention the third option: if they destroyed the wrong spirit, then she wouldn’t be around at all.
“Especially not Constance,” Sammy agreed. They turned the corner into one of the town’s smaller green squares. Not that it was very green. Snowfall had been reduced to lumps of brown slush by the drains, the grass had been trodden down to mud. “It’s shitty all around. Just got to wait for Blanche to figure out if she wants to talk with us, and do our best in the meantime.” His mood lifted when she explained that she’d still be able to see him. If everything worked. If it was possible to put her back in her body at all. All the unsaid ifs they’d avoided these past few months. “You can?” Sammy asked, embarrassed at the slightly pleased tone in his voice, a little too full of hope. He swallowed. “It’ll work. It has to work. You’re getting out all the big guns. And I’ll come see you afterwards.”
Nadia felt so much heavier, her boots sinking into the ground a bit more. “So fucking shitty. But you’re right. And, when she does, we be there for her, however we can.” She smiled at Sammy. “Of course. It’s not, like the best, and I’m a little out of practice.” She ran a hand through her hair, a bit embarrassed. “I didn’t interact with a lot of ghosts, you know, before.” She leaned into him a bit, brushing their shoulders even if they couldn’t touch. “But that was before I met you and knew that ghosts could be cool. So of course I can. And of course I want you to come around.” She stopped, looking down before looking back up at up at him, her face serious. “It will. Of course it will. But… But if it doesn’t-- Make sure Blanche doesn’t blame herself? Is something goes-- she shouldn’t blame herself for anything that happens to me, okay?” She gave him a shaky smile. “But it’s gonna go great. I’m gonna see you as soon as it’s done.” It wasn’t going to go wrong. She had to believe that.

I’ll Carry You
Request/Synopsis: Reader has always had problems with her knee and it acts up at the most inconvenient times. Luckily, she’s got Peter to help her through it.
Warnings: None
Pairings: Peter Parker x Reader
A/N: i really miss the avengers and it’s been like a month. I wonder how they’re doing. also, Tom Holland is beautiful. gif isn’t mine and my inbox is always open! x
Ding!
As the sound of the oven beeping, you forced your body up from the comfortable position you were curled up in on the couch. The moment you stood up, the pain shot through your leg like a tsunami, making you plop your body back down on the couch in a grunt.
Ever since you were young, you had been having knee problems in your right knee. Sure, you were sort of used to it by now, but when it hit you out of the blue, you couldn’t help but sit down to prevent the pain from taking over. It had hit you during presentations, at funerals, weddings, and once at an amusement park halfway through a rollercoaster. It sucked.
You groaned in frustration, walking back over to the kitchen to take out the cookies and get an ice pack. When the cookies were sitting out on the counter, you turned off the oven and turned around, reaching into the freezer and pulling out a pack of ice.
You made your way back to the couch and threw yourself down, wrapping your knee up and letting the ice numb the pain slowly. You clicked ‘play’ and let your episode continue on the tv, not even hearing the front door open.
“Knee acting up again?” Peter’s voice startled you, making you jump and nearly knock the glass on the table over.
“Yeah,” you sighed, shifting over so Peter could sit next to you, “How was the meeting?”
Peter sighed, resting his hand on your thigh and rubbing soothing circles, “Good, Captain Rogers said I did a good job on the last mission.”
“Hey! That’s good!” You smiled at him, glad he was slowly getting more comfortable with being an avenger. You leaned your head on his shoulder and he placed a delicate kiss on your forehead, the pride nearly radiating off of him as he thought back to Captain Rogers’ words.
Silence fell on the two of you and you took the chance to cuddle into his chest, letting the ice rest on your knee again. The scent of his cologne overtook the smell of the freshly baked cookies and if you were being totally honest, it was your favorite smell in the world.
“You seriously need to get that checked,” Peter pointed at your knee, speaking up after a long moments silence.
“I have,” you sighed, “Like, eight times. They always tell me the same thing: stretch more, cold compress, hot compress - blah blah blah,” you motioned your hand in a talking motion, Peter’s chuckle of amusement following suit.
He lifted his hand to run his fingers through your hair soothingly, “Well, is there anything that I can do?”
You placed a finger under your chin, pretending to think about it, “Hmmm, wanna bring me those cookies?”
Peter agreed, unwrapping his arms from you and making his way over to the kitchen, the soft pitter patter of his feet getting distant. He placed a couple cookies on a plate and made his way back to you, handing them to you and grabbing one for himself.
“Hmmm, I am a masterchef,” you muttered through a mouthful of cookie, Peter chuckling as he agreed with you. The two of you sat peacefully for the rest of the day, munching on snacks and binge-watching Netflix, and even though your knee was killing you, you were glad to have Peter here.
He was your physical and emotional support, and you wouldn’t trade him for the world.
-
As you made your way through the mall, Christmas shoppers pushing and shoving every which way, your eye was set on the store up ahead, beelining straight towards it to avoid easy holiday distractions and the Santa impersonators asking for money. Peter had mentioned this leather coat that caught his eye a couple weeks ago, and you instantly had your head set on getting it for him as his Christmas gift, so that was your one and only mission in the crowded New York City mall.
As you made your way into the store, the large flashy 70% OFF sign had you praying that the item you wanted was still in stock. You made your way through the racks, scanning the items that were thrown around without order until your eyes finally landed on the one Peter had liked. You let out a sigh of relief, squeezing up against the rack to avoid getting trampled.
“Oh, thank god,” you whispered, taking it off the rack. As you held it up to admire it, you felt your entire weight buckle beneath you, the scorching pain spreading up and down your leg, making you drop the coat as shoppers trampled past you.
“Not now, please not now,” you took out your purse, scanning through to find some sort of pain killer to help you find the strength and will to stand up again. As you scavenged through your purse, you remembered leaving the bottle on the kitchen counter.
Of course.
You threw your head back, letting out a groan as you pulled the jacket towards you, practically scooting back into the rack of clothes to avoid getting stomped on. You dug your phone out of your purse and dialled Peter’s number - luckily for you, he answered right away.
“Hey, what’s up? Aren’t you-”
“Peter, my knee.”
He sighed, “Again? I’ll come get you - you’re at the mall?”
You hummed, and from his end you could hear him pick up a set of keys, “I’ll be there in fifteen, wait for me outside.”
Dropping the coat, you slowly used your arms to push yourself back up, the pain making its way up your spine and making it nearly impossible for you to lift yourself up, but you did.
Wobbling, you gripped onto the racks scattered across the store and limped towards the entrance, ignoring the weird stares people were giving you due to the obvious face of pain you were probably making.
Making your way throughout the mall was hard, but with determination, you made it to the exit and stepped outside right as Peter’s car pulled up, making you sigh in relief. He quickly rushed out, running over to you and wrapping an arm around your torso.
“Sorry I made you rush over,” you muttered in guilt, letting him support you over to the car as the pain slowly started making its way back down your spine with the sudden shift in movements.
“Hey, don’t apologize, I’m here to help you. And carry you,” he lifted you up off your feet as if it were nothing, his super-duper spidey strength being a benefitting factor. His hand resting behind your knees surprisingly didn’t affect you as much as you thought it would. A small giggle left your lips as he struggled to place you into the car, but once he did, he started laughing with you.
“The things I do for you, huh?” He asked, making his way around to the drivers seat and starting up the engine and taking off to your shared apartment.
You looked back at the mall once you made your way out of the parking lot, “I didn’t even get to get you your gift.” A pout made its way onto your lips as you thought about someone else buying the coat you wanted and the store being sold out.
“It’s okay, I don’t need anything,” Peter placed his hand on your thigh, rubbing soothing circles right above your knee.
“I know you don’t need anything, but I wanted to get it for you,” you sighed in content at the feeling of him gently rubbing your skin, an action that has calmed you down thousands of times before.
“It’s okay, I’m sure you can come back another day,” Peter comforted you.
The rest of the drive was silent and the ache in your knee started wearing off. You almost asked Peter to drive you straight back to the mall, but you just wanted to go home and watch the light snow start to fall over the city from the comfort of your couch.
As Peter pulled into his parking place, he immediately rushed to the other side of the car to help you out. His hands instinctively went around your waist, scooping you up bridal style.
“Peter! My knee is better, you don’t need to carry me,” you giggled as the two of you walked into the building, ignoring the strange looks you were getting once again.
“I don’t need to, but I want to,” he reiterated your words from before, a proud smirk on his face as the two of you entered the elevator and made your way up to your apartment. His grip stayed tight, making sure you weren’t going to slip out of his arms. He was insanely strong, so the chance of that was small, but he liked being safe when it came to you.
The two of you eventually entered your flat, Peter still carrying you as if you were a wounded animal.
“Where to, my lady?” He asked in a mock British accent, raising his eyebrow as he did so.
You let out a small chuckle and pointed to the couch, “There, good sir!” You copied the accent, practically butchering it as Peter made his way to the couch. He lightly placed you down and wrapped the blanket around you, sitting down himself.
“We should watch Elf,” Peter suggested, turning on the TV.
“We watched it last night,” you pointed out, resting your head on his shoulder.
He crossed his arms, pouting slightly, “Let’s watch it again.”
“Okay, okay,” you gave in, lifting your head up to place a delicate kiss on his cold lips.
He started the movie, wrapping his arms around you tightly as if you were going to slip away from him. Dealing with your knee was tough, but it always ended with being spoiled rotten and Peter keeping you as close as possible - and you wouldn’t change that for the world.

Summary:
Peter and Wade have a tradition they've been following every Valentine's Day and National Half-Priced Candy Day for several years now. They patrol all day and night for Valentine's in their special "June-themed" suits, and on the 15th they spend their day cuddling, eating cheap candy, and napping to make up for the lack of rest from the day before. This year, though, Peter wants to do something slightly different for NHPC day. Something neither of them will ever forget.

Hey guys! I know I haven’t written anything but D:BH here so far (and I may make a late Valentine’s thing for that fandom too), but it had always been my plan to be a multi-fandom account eventually, and I couldn’t miss out on the “Isn’t it Bromantic” Spideypool Discord server’s Valentine’s Day Challenge!
If Spideypool isn’t your thing, I totally get it and I don’t expect you to read this (and I’m gonna be making a post about what to do if you don’t want to see a ship or fandom you don’t like real soon), but if it is your thing, then Welcome! There isn’t much true fluff in this chapter, and this is kind of all over the place, but there absolutely will be tomorrow in the second part and things will tie together! So please hang in there, and I hope you enjoy this chapter!

“Spidey-poo! Spider-honey! Web-darling!”
Peter quickly spots Wade’s bright suit and rolls his eyes as he quickly and sternly shushes him, knowing the other super can hear him even if he’s on the rooftop across the street. He swings over and meets Wade on the other side with practiced grace.
“‘Pool, it is five in the morning and normal people are still sleeping! You can’t just yell like that!”
Wade, as expected by this point, completely ignores Peter’s halfhearted chiding and instead sweeps him up into a large bear hug as if they hadn’t just seen each other thirty minutes ago.
“My baby boy’s looking extra bi for this valentine’s day!” He spins them around a couple of times for good measure, then sets him down, keeping his hands on his shoulders. “Did you upgrade the gay suit? Because this looks even better than it did in June!”
A few years back, Wade had jokingly made a comment about wearing pride colors on patrol during the month of June, just to rub it into the “old bigots’ faces” and to get a good laugh. After a day or two of not being able to get that thought out of his head, he figured that if cops can’t be at pride, then at least Spiderman and Deadpool should be able to join in to keep the crime at bay.
As soon as he told Wade this, the ex-merc went all out. He made an entirely new suit for the occasion instead of just taping a flag to his shoulders like Peter was expecting. He argued that “How are the people supposed to know we’re there to help and support if all they see is the usual red with black and red and blue?” and admitted he already had designs for their pride suits ready to go for ages. Wade’s was based off of his pansexuality with all the red parts turned bright pink, the black became bright blue, and all of his weapons (most of them being non-lethal now, thanks to Peter’s insistence) replaced with ones that are bright gold and yellow.
That first year, Peter refused an altered suit, mostly because back then their relationship was newer and he was worried about somehow paying Wade the favor back. Although, he allowed Wade to make it the next year since the design for it was much more subdued than Wade’s by far, and he seemed to have so much fun in his new get up. For Peter’s suit, the blue stayed the same, the red became magenta, and his eye-pieces and web designs became purple all in tribute to his own bisexuality.
The next February after that was when Peter (not Wade, surprisingly enough) came up with the idea to wear these suits on their annual Valentine’s day 20 hour watch, just to show the heteros that they still exist outside of pride month.
That, and “Bi-derman” and “Pan-pool” slash “Dead-pan” are kind of a big hit, so why the hell not?
Peter hasn’t done much altering to his suit beyond repairs, but since last June, he’s completely remade the suit in a tougher material and made the blue and magenta more vibrant and the purple web designs darker to help with the contrast. He also made his eye-pieces white because holy hell was it hard to see through those darker lenses.
“You have a good eye, ‘Pool. Do you like it?” He sticks his arms out and slowly spins as he continues, “I remade it with the extra money from that raise I got a while back.”
Wade quickly grabs Peter and pulls him close again, this time letting his hands roam over the fabric. He can feel the appraise Wade is silently sending him, and the part of him that was worried about making the protective padding on his chest and gut look more muscular rather than lean settles immediately.
“Mmmyes. Me likey this a lot.” He takes a step back and pointedly looks Peter up and down, “Where did you even hide this? I swear I looked in our secret closet and under the bed when I definitely wasn’t snooping for my Christmas presents again.”
Peter rolls his eyes, and he bets that Wade knows it even if his eyes are covered. “If I told you where then I’d have to find a way to erase your memory, because killing you isn’t an option.”
“I dunno, babe, you just might kill me with this damn suit.” He hesitates, then flops his head back with a groan, “Fuck, you’re right, I only get to see it on you for a month and a day a year. How did you even get this level of muscle definition to show through your suit? You look like you do in some of the comics! Clothes in real life don’t work like this!”
“Bullet-resistant padding thanks to Tony and a lot of neat seam-work to make it look like natural muscle.” Peter states matter-of-factly, “Get me the materials and I could do the same for your suits, since I don’t think Tony will offer to give you any.”
“Nah. I don’t need it, and I don’t want to distract from this gorgeous bod’–” he cups Peter’s face “–anytime soon.” Wade gently places his forehead on Peter’s, letting their masked-noses bump. He ruins the moment by murmuring “Is there anything I can do to make you wear this suit in the bedroom?”
“No.” Peter swiftly turns and walks to the edge of the building, waiting for Wade to hop on his back.
“But baby...” the man in question whines, “You wear your other one–”
“Only sometimes and only when you distract me before I can completely change, and I don’t want this one ruined before I can wear it this June.” He ignores Wade’s pout and says, “This fabric is much harder to wash.”
“Ugh, fine. At least I get to watch you flip around some baddies today” he wiggles happily.
“You won’t if you don’t friggin’ hurry up!” he sing-songs, casting a web out in preparation to swing away.
Wade doesn’t respond, but his spidey-senses tingle a warning of something incoming, so he braces himself as his boyfriend leaps onto his back. He loops his legs over Peter’s hips and his arms around his shoulders, then they’re off.
They swing for almost 45 minutes before the duo hear their first cry for help of the day.
Peter hastily swings over to where they heard the woman cry out, and from there it isn’t hard to find her being held hostage by a man in a wolf mask (seriously, why a wolf? Could he only afford a mask from the halloween clearance shelf?) while a well-dressed man shakily pulls out his wallet. Wade drops in, and Peter pretends he didn’t hear the crunch of one of his joints twisting wrong during the landing. By the time Peter drops in to help calm the couple down, Wade has already knocked out and tied up the perpetrator. The couple thanks the vigilantes, then hurry off to the subway, eager to get back to a safer part of the city.
As per usual on their Valentine’s day “event”, they personally drag the mugger to the police station themselves. The police usually have enough on their plate as it is without Spiderman and Deadpool calling them all day to pick someone up if the duo can just do it themselves. Besides, it gives the couple a chance to interact with the public, even if that’s sometimes less-than-pleasing.
Thankfully, they don’t run into too much drama on the way to the station. A young man on the way to work stops them for a picture, admitting that he’s been excited to see the pictures of them in their pride uniforms online later today while a stranger scoffs at them, but that’s hardly drama and is completely expected.
When it starts getting close to seven oclock in the morning, things start picking up. By the time nine rolls around, they’ve stopped two more minor muggings and talked someone down from trying to commit a crime, which doesn’t successfully happen nearly as often as Peter would like. They buy an ungodly amount of breakfast and hand a chunk of it out to homeless people before they spot someone trying to break into a window on the fourth floor of an apartment building. Peter goes to take care of it while Wade skips away to pass out more food.
“Yo!” Peter calls jovially as he climbs up the wall, “You know, this is extremely dangerous for someone who doesn’t have spider powers, so if you could just–”
His spidey senses suddenly warn him and he jumps to the left, narrowly missing a metal skewer to the shoulder.
“What the hell?! Do you know how dangerous it is to carry those around–” he dodges another one “–normally? And, like, you’re on a rickety– woah!–” He twists his body in order to not get hit “–rickety old fire escape throwing them, so–” He narrowly misses the next one “–Damn it! Would it hurt you to stop for two seconds! Why are you even getting into this specific apartment? There are easier and sneakier ones to get into!”
“My ex wife lives here.” He confesses, throwing another skewer, “She cheated on me with two other people, then divorced me and is trying to take everything! See! I’m not some low-life criminal, so just leave me alone!”
Peter wasn’t actually expecting an answer, but he can try to make-do with this.
“Do you have evidence of her cheating?” he tries, and it must work on some level because the man stops throwing skewers. Just how many did he have, anyway? And why skewers of all things?
The man nods, still hesitating on the next skewer. Damn it, he needs to think of something fast. Well, he doesn’t need to, but he’d rather not send this guy to the cops. He seems like one of the dudes he can calm down.
“Okay, well, do you know if the people she cheated on you with knows she’s cheating on them?”
The guy ponders this for a moment. “No, I don’t think so.”
“So… Why not try getting together and form a mini mob to maybe, I dunno, publicly humiliate her? Instead of breaking into her apartment or hurting her? Or both? Instead of making yourself out as the bad guy?”
“Ooo! Who are we publicly humiliating!” Deadpool calls from the bottom of the fire escape. “I want in on the action! I’m really good at scheming!” he rubs his hands together like some kind of mad scientist.
“Deadpool, now is not the time–”
“So you’d help me get revenge on my cheating ex-wife?”
“Wait–”
“Oh hell yeah! We’re gonna blow her cover just like I blow–”
“Okay!” Peter shouts over what was undoubtedly about to be Wade bragging about their nighttime activities again. Or maybe he was actually going to mention one of the explosives or grenades he has back at home, who knows?
This scenario is one of the “If you can’t beat them, join them” type, isn’t it? Well, in this case it’s probably closer to “If you can’t stop them, leave and pretend that it isn’t happening for as long as possible, then deny it did for even longer.”
He sighs and mutters “I can not believe I’m about to do this,” before shouting down to Wade, “Since you’re apparently going to actually do this, can there not be any bodily harm or apartment destruction? If not anything else?”
“Aw, but baby boo, arson is the third best crime to commit…” At Peter’s stern look, he relents. “Fine, but if we’re gonna do this right, but I want a little fee for this amazing plan I’m coming up with!”
Peter takes that and the man’s positive response as his cue to leave and pretend his boyfriend isn’t plotting to cause a huge scene with three other people today. It’s much easier to do once he catches some asshole slipping his hand up some girl’s dress while keeping her at gunpoint in some alley.
A web here, a punch there, and another punch, and a kick. Then one last kick and punch just for good measure, along with another web, and the girl is saved and the wrong-doer is unconscious and tied up. In the not sexy way, Deadpool would probably add if he was here.
“Thank you, Spiderman!” he hears the woman sobs before she pounces on him with a hug.
“Woah, hey, you’re safe now.” He awkwardly hugs the stranger back.
“He’s been stalking me for a while and I’ve just been hoping that I could get close to a police station or something but then he disappeared and cut me off and I couldn’t run in these heels and he got me–”
“Hey hey hey, he’s gone now. He’s not gonna hurt anyone anymore, okay?” He pulls away from her, and she gives a shaky nod. “Okay, do you have anyone you can call–”
“Spidey!” he hears the familiar voice sing at the end of the alley, “You left without me!” The footsteps suddenly stop, and Wade’s voice becomes much softer. “Hey, you alright? No one important is hurt?” He glances over to the webbed up man briefly.
The woman shakes her head. Knowing that Wade will probably keep quiet for now, Peter restates his question.
“Do you have anyone you can call for now so you’re not alone?”
The girl nods again, “I was just on my way to meet my partner. They’d come right away.” She huffs a wet laugh, “They actually adore you two. You helped them from a bunch of bullies at pride two years ago.”
“I’m glad we can get to them in time, then.” Peter smiles.
“Hells yea! The world could do with more people who say “fuck you” to gender rolls!” He points to nothing as he continues, “And you read that right, readers! Rolls with two L’s wasn’t a typo, because gender rolls are the nastiest kind of bread. Yuck!”
The woman huffs a laugh then looks up from her ringing phone, tilting her head in sudden confusion, “Readers? Typo?”
“Don’t worry about it,” Peter cuts in, “It’s just a thing he does.” He doesn’t want to take the time to explain Wade’s weird habits of doing something called “breaking the fourth wall”, and how he addresses some things to readers and others to viewers or watchers and other to his two internal “boxes” named “Yellow” and “White”.
Peter hears the person on the other end finally pick up the phone and ask if something’s up. The woman asks them to go to a certain coffee shop to meet her instead of the fountain– wherever that could be in a place like this– to meet her. The other person immediately agrees. Peter is also mildly impressed and rather touched that they also asked for her to stay on the line until they meet instead of just hanging up in a rush like plenty of people seem to do. This person is definitely good for this lady.
They end up walking with the woman to the aforementioned coffee shop, and they chat a little with the person on the line while Peter keeps a very close ear out for anything odd that may need his assistance and pays close attention to his spidey-senses. They get a photo with one group of kids and their parents on the way, then a few more pictures once they meet up with Kasandra’s (they finally got the woman’s name) partner. After that, a group of teens on a triple date quickly came up for pictures and complimented their pride suits.
Peter’s spidey sense starts going off before the teens can say much else. With Deadpool quickly and securely latching onto his back, he climbs up a wall to safely swing away to the danger.
After that, it becomes a pretty normal day, as far as patrolling goes. Despite the fact that most of New York City knows that Spiderman and Deadpool patrol all day and night long on most holidays, the crime rate still rises on them. It makes Peter wonder just how many people they don’t get to whenever they patrol; how many people call out for them specifically when Peter is too far away to hear them or sense them being in danger?
He doesn’t want to know the answer to that, and Wade does his best to help Peter keep his brain from travelling down those dark paths once he figured out it made his depression and anxiety that much worse.
He honestly doesn’t know what he’d do without Wade. They’ve been together for so long that Peter can’t imagine a day where he’d be gone for good. Yeah, he still sometimes spends weeks or, very rarely, months away for some SHIELD job, but he always eventually comes back. He’s almost completely immune to his “Parker Luck” because he’s technically immune to death and injury. So the thought that one day Wade may leave and not come back because something between them just couldn’t be worked through?
It’s terrifying.
The thing about that last thought, though, is that Peter can’t imagine not being able to work things out with Wade. They always work things out. They’ve been living with each other for years now, so that was something they had to learn how to do a long while ago. Even their various friends agree that, as much as they banter like best friends, they also tend to argue and compromise over small things like an old, married couple. He and Wade never try to argue their observations either. Peter isn’t quite so sure about his other half, but he feels like they’re already a married couple. There’s just no rings or legal papers to make it official yet.
Yet.
He abruptly pauses at webbing a group of home intruders to the brick wall in front of him to watch Wade with wide eyes as the other chatters away, searching for a cell phone to call the police with so these guys can be picked up.
Wade’s self-esteem would probably never allow him to ask Peter to marry him, even though they’ve been dating for over six years now and living together for about the same length of time. Even if they had been dating for twelve or twenty years, he doubts Wade would be able to do it without backing out or panicking just because he’d probably feel like he was trapping Peter or something bizarre but sadly understandable like that, especially if his boxes are in a shitty mood that hnypothetical day.
He doesn’t doubt for a moment that Wade loves him deeply, even with all the shit they give each other. Hell, especially with all the shit they give each other. It means a hell of a lot when people can make fun of each other and poke at each other and can trust wholeheartedly that the other person knows that it means nothing or comes from a place of pure love, especially for people with backgrounds filled with anxiety like Peter and Wade.
It takes a lot of trust to open oneself up completely to another person, and Wade is the first person like that for Peter ever since he became Spiderman, and Peter hopes he’s close enough to being that person for Wade in return. It takes a lot of love and trust on both of their parts to deal with the somewhat common panic attacks, depression dips, and self-punishments and the less common hallucinations and serious depression dips and still stick around after all is said and done.
They’ve been together through thick and thin, through grave injuries and actual death (on Wade’s account, anyway). They’ve stuck together through sickness and loss, happiness and wealth (there was a few months where Wade was apparently secretly convinced that Peter would leave once he was no longer dirt poor, but that’s been proven wrong a hundred times over by now). They’ve been through everything the traditional wedding vows mention, and the “until death do us part” really only works on Peter, but his powers and trained skills don’t make him an easy target, either.
Peter knows what he wants to do, or rather, he’s just now realized what he’s been wanting for a long while. And now that he knows what’s missing, he’s going to take the first steps to get it. Wade took the first steps in starting their relationship, so it’s only fair that Peter takes the first step or two towards their marriage. Probable marriage, he corrects himself, because if there’s one thing he’s learned from being with Wade all these years, it’s that if something has even one percent chance of happening, it’s plenty of wiggle room for the ex-merc to do it. And Peter’s only 99 percent sure that he’ll say yes.
That just means he needs to make tomorrow the best National Half-Priced Candy Day yet.
“Spidey?” Wade snaps him out of his thoughts, sounding like that wasn’t the first time he called for him.
Peter shakes his head. “Sorry. Just got a bit carried away in my head I guess.”
Wade nods thoughtfully. Peter can practically see the concern dripping off of him. “You need a break? We’ve been at this for–” he checks the stranger’s phone still in his hand, “twelve hours now. Dang.” He pauses. “I know right? But you know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun, and I’m always having fun when our snookums is around!” Wade’s bright grin stretches the bright pink and blue fabric of his mask.
“I usually have fun when you’re around too, ‘Pool.” Peter grins and turns away. He hears a gasp behind him.
“Baaabe!!” he whines, “Only usually? You wound me! I am always fun, especially when–” He abruptly stops. When he doesn’t immediately respond to whatever his boxes are saying, Peter turns around.
Wade is looking at Peter with a strangely somber expression, one that’s obvious through his mask. Then he picks himself up in what Peter can now tell is false cheer.
“You know, Spidey, if you ever get tired of me–”
“Never gonna happen.” Peter walks towards Wade and puts his hands on his undoubtedly surprised face. “You can’t get rid of me that easily, ya doof.” He pecks a kiss to his masked nose then pulls away. “Come on, then! We have more criminals to stop and people to save!”
Peter hesitates just long enough for Wade to jump on his back before taking off. As he swings them through the city, he starts thinking of a plan of action for tomorrow.
If there was any chance that he was wrong about Wade’s self esteem not letting him pop the question first, what the ex-merc just said squashed it, which means Peter will have to be the one to do it. He could go the easy way and go about their usual NHPC day and get down on one knee when they’re back at home (because for as much as Wade puts on an act of shamelessness and seems to constantly overshare, he’s strangely a rather private person), but he doesn’t particularly want to.
A quick look to the left mid-swing and he thinks he has the perfect thing.
His spidey-senses guide him to the right, so he follows. It doesn’t take very long at all for the pair to spot the dark smoke in the sky directly ahead of them. They make it there quickly, taking in the apartment building that is almost overrun by bright flames, the two fire trucks, and the group of firefighters on the street trying their best to evacuate people and put out the worst of the fire. Wade points out that the fire escape must either be engulfed by flames or has broken off or something because he can see a couple through a window on the top floor.
Without stopping to ask what happened or what’s needed of them– mainly because they’d probably say something that basically means “go away and mind your own business”– they enter the building through a window on the top floor (“Wade! You didn’t have to break it!” “The entire building is basically broken! It’s fine!”) since they both believe that, with the get up most of them are wearing, the firefighters are working on evacuating the people in the thick of the flames now and haven’t reached anyone in the higher floors.
Besides, the materials Peter and Wade use to make their respective suits aren’t exactly heat and flame resistant, so this is how they can be helpful.
Inside the building is, predictably, hot and smokey from the flames, and Peter knows it will get louder too as they reach the floors that are closer to the majority of the fire. They split up and work through the top floor first with Peter safely lowering two small families, two couples, and several animals down one or two at a time while Wade searches for any others and gathers them to their chosen window. Once Wade says it’s clear and the civilians are safe, they move downstairs to the next floor and set up the same system.
This floor is proven to be a bit more difficult when Wade comes back with two cats and informs Peter that their owner is a business man that recognized Deadpool as the mercenary he hasn’t been in a long while and accused him of setting the building on fire while simultaneously begging for his life. So Peter has to leave his post at the window and let Wade lower the few remaining people down while he goes and talks to the business man.
Peter easily finds the middle-aged man cowering in the corner and tries to calm him down. Although, it very quickly becomes apparent that he isn’t having any of it because “Anyone who works with Deadpool only thirsts for blood, and you will not have mine that easily!” Peter just huffs and picks him up like a potato sack, ignoring his shouting and struggling while he carries him to the window in his kitchen. Peter casts a new web and makes a quick harness, gets the man– who had stopped struggling real fast once he realized he was no longer inside– and lowers him down faster than he had for the others.
He meets up with Wade in the hallway, who apparently cleared the rest of the floor while Paranoid Man was causing a fuss, and they move down again. They hastily clear out most of the apartments on the third-to-top floor when Peter hears a shout and a gunshot from down the hallway. The only people there to lower the two small dogs he has on the line now are three siblings, the oldest being no older than 16 and the youngest no older than 10. Another gunshot forces Peter’s hand, though.
“Hey! Do you think you could lower these pups down while I go check that out?”
The oldest sibling, a girl with a pixie cut, ripped jeans, and a black sweatshirt, looks out the window and nods. She silently and shakily takes the webbing from him and starts to lower them. Peter doesn’t waste any time in sprinting down the hall to the last apartment where he last saw Wade disappear. Inside he finds a woman in her forties or fifties holding a gun to Wade’s unmoving body. Whether he’s dead or unconscious, he doesn’t know, but that doesn’t matter.
“Hey! What the hell, lady! We’re trying to help!” Peter stomps towards her.
“I’d rather die than be contaminated by freaks like you!”
His spidey-sense suddenly screams at him, and Peter jumps and rolls to the side just in time to dodge the bullet that would have hit his chest.
“What the fuck?!”
“Get out of my damn apartment!” she screams, pointing the gun at him again.
“Lady, there is literally a fire–”
“And I will not be saved by faggots like you!”
Oh… How fun… One of those people…
But she’s still a civilian, Peter reminds himself, and he really shouldn’t web her up in the corner of the room just because she’d rather die than accept help from someone who isn’t straight. No matter how much he kind of wants to right now. The fire probably won’t even reach this floor, anyway… But he still can’t.
“This is a matter of life and death for you, what the hell–” He jumps to the left to dodge another bullet.
“And I don’t fucking care!” She screams, “You can all go and burn in hell! But I won’t let myself be swayed by your cursed ways!” she shoots once more, and she should have only one shot left at most, if Peter’s counting right.
She doesn’t get to shoot again, though, because Deadpool comes up behind her and knocks her out.
“Do you know how close I was to killing her? Do you know how easy it’d still be to? God sometimes I wish I was still a mercenary. I mean, look at this! She got blood on my gay suit!” He complains, staring down at the woman disdainfully and poking at the single bullet wound in his chest.
Peter, instead of praising him for not killing her or explaining why they should keep her alive, just nods and jogs out of the apartment. He has other people he needs to save, afterall.
He pretends to not hear Wade’s gasp and sinister chuckle behind him.
He gets the siblings down, and Wade comes back with a dog and two cats in his arms, and the unconscious woman being dragged behind him by Wade’s new, golden whip (“Now I can be just like Wonder woman!” “Like who?” “Wonder Woman! She’s from the DC Universe and she’s my hero! Besides you, of course!” “Whatever you say, Wade…”). If anyone notices that he lowers the animals before he lowers the human, then they can deal with it. And if they notice that she has “BEWARE: HOMOPHOBIC ASSHOLE” written on her forehead in permanent marker, then it’s not his fault that he can’t control his boyfriend.
Looking out of the window this time, they realize that the fire has gone down quite a bit. Wade comes running back down the hallway– when did he even leave?– cheering that the fire escape was just covered in fire, but now it’s safe to walk on. Before Peter has the chance to ask if it was safe for civilians to walk on or just supers, Wade jumps in and clarifies that he pretty much cannon-balled onto it and it didn’t bend, and it was only pretty warm through his ruined suit, rather than very warm.
With that news (and after Peter tested it for himself), they waste no time in telling the other tenants they find to put thick shoes on and go down the fire escape. By the time they finish clearing the few people and animals left in the building, it’s pretty much dark out and some news stations are gathered around outside reporting what happened here for the nightly news.
“Excuse me, miss,” He hears Wade say to his right. He turns and finds him talking to a young police officer. “How did this fire start? And why’d it get so big?”
The young woman scowls a bit and opens her mouth to speak, but an older officer behind Peter interrupts her.
“Someone was trying to make a romantic dinner on the fourth floor and started an oil fire, then tried putting it out with water. It got so big because traffic was horrible today, and we just couldn’t make it here as quickly as we needed.” he smiles ruefully.
Peter turns to properly face the officer, “Do you know if anyone was seriously hurt?”
He shakes his head. “But we know that so far there haven’t been any deaths reported so far. Animal or human.”
Peter nods as Wade speaks. “Thank you, officer! We appreciate the work you do ‘round here, but we should get going!”
Peter takes his cue and starts walking towards the building across the street to climb up and swing off of.
“Hey,” the officer catches Peter and Wade’s attention, “I know a lot of other police officers don’t like you doing their job, but you’re doing some real good work out there. So thanks, Spiderman and Deadpool.”
Peter nods, not really knowing what else to do, while Wade openly gapes through his mask. He pulls the ex-merc towards him, and he immediately clings to Peter’s back. They’re gone pretty quickly after that.
“Babe! Baaabe!!” Wade shouts into his ear mid-swing, “That was amazing! We found someone who doesn’t hate us! And he thanked us!”
“I know!” He cheers back. It’s always nice to get some positive recognition.
Wade squeezes on to him tighter. “God, I’m so fucking glad I stopped murdering people.” He kisses the back of his neck through their suits. “I’m really glad I chose you. So happy... The happiest.” he continues quieter, more genuine.
If Peter didn’t know better, he would’ve thought he wasn’t supposed to hear that last part, that it was just meant for himself and his boxes. But, well, he does know better.
His brain decides to remind him of the ring he still has to buy by the end of tomorrow.
Peter’s spidey-senses start humming at the same time that Wade shouts that he saw a young man and a suspicious older woman in an alley shortcut. They easily stop the woman from assaulting the poor teen before she could try with the element of surprise on their side, then they escort him back to a more populated area where it should be safer. Both Peter’s and Wade’s stomachs growl at the scent of sandwiches, so they go in and order enough for an army before and climbing up to the nearest rooftop to take a very-much-needed food break. They sit down and start digging in.
Peter weighs the options of buying an engagement ring as Spiderman and risking outing his plans to everyone before he gets to properly propose to Wade, or somehow taking time out of their NHPC day plans (do nothing except go out to buy cheap candy together, cuddle, and munch on said candy) to buy a ring without being suspicious to the man whose job has always been finding people who don’t want to be found out.
“Hey Wade?”
Wade hums around his food and scoots more into Peter’s lap in lieu of a real response.
“I was thinking we could do something slightly different than usual tomorrow?” Peter leans a bit to the side to get a better view of Wade’s reaction. It isn’t a negative one, but it’s also not positive.
“Why? What’s up?” he asks once he swallows his food.
Peter shuffles a bit. “Well, I was thinking, since candy isn’t usually the only thing that’s half-priced tomorrow, we could maybe split up for, let’s say, an hour or two? Just to buy a cute present for each other or something–”
Wade’s excited gasp interrupts Peter. “Like those little stuffed animals that go right into clearance after Valentines? Or those super soft blankets and socks!” Wade squeals and waves his hands, flinging sandwich bits everywhere. “Petey-baby! You are brilliant! Like, I knew that already, but you’re just proving what we all already know! Even the boxes agree! Although, Yellow’s idea of a present is too close to Yandere simulator, but White thinks going down to Coney Island would be cool! But I don’t even think the rides are even open this early in the year. Besides! I just told you about it! So it isn’t a surprise anymore!” He points a finger high in the air and announces loudly, “Disqualified!”
Peter smiles as he absently listens to Wade go on and on about present-buying tomorrow. Now he just needs to find the perfect ring online and pick it up at the store. If he can’t find the perfect one on such short notice, he doubts Wade will mind if he got a unicorn plushie and a very soft blanket instead. The ring and proposal doesn’t have to be rushed, as much as Peter really wants it to be. How could he not, when his fiance would be a sarcastic asshole and secret sweetheart like Wade Winston Wilson?
Now the only important question left is, would it be Peter Wilson, Wade Parker, or Peter and Wade Wilson-Parker, or Parker-Wilson?
