Please, read this article. It is probably the most reasonable and intelligent take on this story that I have seen from a major media outlet.

(I do have to critique broad, generalized attacks on "the media", since there are a few exceptions-like this article-that have covered this subject with some intelligence/integrity. But they are horrifyingly few.)

I’m sorry but the best Jon Snow AUs are those where he is some sort of civil servant. I always see people headcannon him as ROTC/soldier or cop but I think they kind of miss the mark. GRRM has steadily been moving away from the traditional warrior archetype with Jon and more into the counts-pebbles ruler type. So the cannon compliant AUs are the ones where he ends up as some sort of government official. Maybe he could be a city hall manager or an ombudsman. He could be a state representative or maybe even a senator. Let me remind people that he’s the only elected leader in the series. AU!Jon Snow would totally be the extremely competent but also extremely depressed congressional representative from like, idk, Alaska.

“Yeah, it’s beautiful,” Jacob Anderson said when Decider asked the actors about the scene.

“I mean, you know, it just goes to show the intensity of their connection,” Sam Reid said. “That was translated really beautifully. Read it on a page and you think, ‘How the hell is this going to happen? Like how does this work?’ and then you see the mechanics of it and then you think, ‘Oh, okay. It’s quite straight forward.'”

How exactly was it straight forward? Decider was sent an early version of the Interview with the Vampire pilot with unfinished VFX. In that version, the scene in question was no less captivating, but you couldn’t help but notice that Reid and Anderson were on a small platform being lifted by a mechanical crane. So what was that like?

“What was it like?” Reid said. “It was, you know…”

“The bicycle scene,” Anderson said.  “We called it the bicycle scene,” Reid said. “It was quite uncomfortable, I got to tell you the truth, it was quite uncomfortable. We’re balancing on that [rig] and sort of holding onto each other for balance as well.”

“Yeah I just like, don’t want to kill the magic of that scene, but it was…we were naked in front of the whole stunt team,” Anderson said.

“The whole stunt team who were pulling the thing down…”

“Basically on a steel seesaw,” Anderson said with a laugh.

Anderson didn’t want to spoil the magic, but he added that he was specifically proud of the single shot that circles around Louis and Lestat in that scene.

“I know I said I didn’t want to ruin the magic, but one of the most magical shots in the whole show is there’s like a crane that goes around from our feet to the top of our bodies and that was done completely in camera,” he said.

Just goes to show you that some of the magic in Interview with the Vampire is most definitely real.

Who would have thought that you would call a coup after a regular election and not be imprisoned or even shot! No, instead you get to reach for power again and stand for election.

Nearly every major media outlet is churning out articles clamouring for Biden to drop out.

But not just that. I've seen multiple articles outright declaring him mentally unfit, and making spurious diagnoses of various disorders.

Attempts to reassure voters or refute such claims are immediately dismissed as "arrogance", denial".

Democrats defending their democratically-chosen nominee after one weak debate are equated to MAGA standing by a serial r*pist, convicted felony, and treasonous fascist.

Despite Biden's insistence that he is staying in, his withdrawal is effectively treated as a foregone conclusion.

The Washington Post even published a fake Biden withdrawal announcement.

Some even suggesting using the 25th Amendment to forcibly remove Biden from office.

Pardon me for sounding conspiratorial, but there is no way that ALL these outlets and commentators ALL reached this conclusion so rapidly, so decisively, with such certainty that at least some are willing to abandon all journalistic integrity, naturally. This is not a natural reaction to one night's poor performance. This is, to be blunt, the most terrifying, massive, sudden, overwhelming, and well-coordinated psy-op that I have ever seen.

Maybe time has dulled the memory, but I don't think Trump/Russia psy-ops in 2016 came close. A key difference is that past psy-ops were mostly social media-driven. But this has near-unanimous buy-in from so-called "mainstream" media. Call this what it is: a coup attempt by the mainstream press, and their billionaire friends/owners. And I guaranfuckingtee that when all is said and done, a good deal of it will trace right back to the Trump campaign, and to the Kremlin.

Here we were, all bracing for the coup attempt in November or December or January. And they hit us in June.
