We hunkered down behind some rocks at the summit of Mt. Jefferson. The wind was chilly for August 12 but the sun was still warm. Jenn and I had the mission of a short hike since my symptoms have been on the bad end of the spectrum. Somehow that turned into almost double the mileage, semi-breaking trail (THANK YOU to the one person who broke trail initially) to make the Imp Loop. For anyone planning to hike this soon, the cut off trail from Camp Dodge has not been broken out. It looks like it has… until it brings you full circle back onto Imp trail before the intersection (why someone would do this… I don’t know). Hiked my last hike of the summer today, didn’t really feel like summer at the top though. It was so windy and cold but I didn’t mind a bit because I just love being up there so much. I hadn’t hiked in the presidentials this summer so it felt right to finish off with one. I don’t think I will ever be able to get over the beauty of the mountains. I love looking across and seeing the path of where so many people have walked and enjoyed the views. I sure am gonna miss hiking once I go back to school and I am greatfull to my mom for going on so many hikes with me this summer.
