Why did you all think Obi-Wan went isolate on desert-sun planet? He needs the light.
hate how they are called light side users but they can't even produce glucose via photosynthesis. weak

The idea that Star Wars has become shit since Disney bought it makes me laugh.
As a reminder, Lucas made shitty changes to the original trilogy and basically got rid of the original versions so we would never have access to them again and it's disgusting.
The prelogy is far from being a masterpiece. Star Wars 7 and 8 are, sorry, generally better than the entire trilogy and even if Revenge of the Sith is very good, it doesn't make up for the overall catastrophe or the acting of the actors, which is frankly not crazy... Without forgetting the shit writing of some dialogue...
In the extended universe already there are excellent stories as well as bad ones, that doesn't change what the extended universe has already served us, Disney involved or not.
But in cinema and television, sorry, but we had excellent things.
In movies we have Rogue One, Star Wars 7, Star Wars 8. And the Solo movie was far from bad, however, I blame it for its ending with Dark Mole because if you don't know the extended universe, seriously wtf ? And since we only know what happens to Q'ira in the extended universe, I consider the Solo film to be part of the extended universe rather than the main story told in the cinema (which makes sense when you think about it because the film is called in addition to solo, a star wars story).
In terms of shows made under Disney we have Obi Wan Kenobi which is excellent.
The Acolyte which, contrary to what the haters say, is very good and is far from ruining Star Wars, on the contrary, it applies its biggest theme very well !
Ashoka is not bad too, seeing how it develops and the ending it will have especially.
The Mandalorian was very good in its beginnings even if... let's be honest, it's a bit of a failure since they said to themselves that mixing this story with the Book of Boba Fett was a good idea... Clearly the worst show star wars live action under disney in my opinion and or precisely it is the episodes dedicated to the Mandalorian which saves it, but normally, a priori it has nothing to do there! Without forgetting the fact of absolutely having wanted to involve Luc in this independent story in the Star Wars universe ?! Holy shit...
Anyway, saying that Star Wars is ruined right now needs to stop kidding.
Have people forgotten all the stupid things that happened with the Star Wars universe before it was under Disney ?

I'm making a list of my favorite Gwendoline Christie fics to read again and again.
I don't read Miranda fics bcz I didn't watch Top of the Lake, and I only watched Star Wars trilogy (no prelogy, no postlogy) so no Phasma.
In fact that'll be mostly Larissa, some Brienne and few Lucifer.

This or That: RWRB Book Edition
I've been tagged by @myteavsricochet @meraki-yao @almightaylor and @starkfridays Thank youuuu guys!! As fun as it sounds (a lot) i feel like i'm only remember half of the book so i'm going to do my best to answer something else than ???? to every question.
// Cakegate or the Great Turkey Calamity // Red Room or tack room // strumpet or biscuit // Don’t Stop Me Now or Your Song // Yes, good, carry on or We all must learn and grow (i have absolutely no recollection of either of these??? sorry fam) // Prince Buttercup or Hoe Dameron (for the note in the pocket, and for Oscar Isaac) // Henry runs on NYE or Henry runs from the lake house (at least this one makes some sense) // I am very, very gay or Bisexuality truly is a rich and complex tapestry (if you think i'm ever going to chose anything else than the option with bisexuality in it.......) // fire under your ass for no good goddamn reason or bottom of the pie crust chat (because the idea is more/better developed in how i remember it ) // baby or sweetheart // The whole bloody time or set me on fire // Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi Revenge of the Sith (i'm a prelogy baby and a whore for Anakin and Hayden, sorry) // AN INCOMPLETE LIST or your body comes back to me in dreams // burgundy velvet suit or midnight-blue bomber jacket (both because there is a hommage/hidden reference to the burgundy velvet suit in the story i'm writing BUT i would have picked the bomber for myself soooo) // bad metaphors about maps or hometown stuff (i... don't know? I don't remember what the hometown stuff is reffering to? Austin things?) // obtuse fucking asshole or then fucking have me // America: He is my choice or Never tell me the odds (i like both in a moderate way?) // sería una mentira porque no sería él (best line of the whole fucking rwrb universe) or history, huh? // I’m never gonna love anybody in the world like I love you or I love him on purpose //
That was fun 💜 (can you tell i read the book when i thought i was going to be in the fandom for a total of 14 business days?) Open tag, i want to read more!

Character ask game meme!
And because I recently saw him on your dash and I love him….
Obi-wan Kenobi 👀
Orrrr if that’s too obscure dm me and I will send another!!! 🥰😎
Oh nothing too obscure about Obi-wan! I grew up with the prelogy. Saw all three of them in the theaters! Then even the postlogy. I have a pretty neutral opinion on Star Wars as a whole, but I am fairly knowledgeable (I've seen all the movies and almost all the live series). And while I'm not fannish about SW, I do like Ewan McGregor very much ;-)
one aspect about them i love
He looks like Ewan McGregor? LOL (for most of his life, as least) More seriously, he's kind, composed, good at heart. Also he looks so hot when he fights with a light saber (again, as Ewan. No offense to Alec Guiness)
one aspect i wish more people understood about them
I wish people were less hard on him. Did he make mistakes about Anakin? Yes. But he also genuinely did his best, with a kid that was dumped on him by his dying mentor. Said kid that grew up to become a rebellious and unbalanced teenager. Should the Jedi, and in particular his own master, have been more aware of Anakin's slide to the dark side? (like, you know, his tendency to slaughter desert people and all...) yes. But also, I feel like the "It's all Obi-wan's fault" is just Anakin's own narrative. But Anakin's fall is his own fault. And if you want to blame someone else, blame Palaptine.
(I've tried to keep this brief, but well, my BFF, with whom I've went to see episode II and episode III with, has always been Team Anakin, and I've always been Team Obi-wan, thus decades long discussions)
So anyway. I do believe Obi-wan did his best with that impossible kid.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have about this character
Damn, I can't come up with headcanons today, sorry. :-/
as well as
one character i love seeing them interact with
young Leia in the TV show. Those two really found each other, didn't they?
one character i wish they would interact with/interact with more
Padme. I liked the few scenes they had together. Obi-wan was kind and compassionate with her. I liked that he figured she was pregnant with Anakin's kid(s) but wasn't judgemental about it.
Also Bail Organa, because I really like him.
one (or more) headcanon(s) i have that involve them and one other character
He kept in touch with Leia after the events of the Obi-wan series (even if that doesn't really fit with original trilogy canon). They were too good together to part ways and never see each other again.

Hello! I am definitely not in film school but know that if you ever wanted to rant about specifics of the prelogy or any other Star Wars movie, I will gladly listen to you. I am studying Korean and lemme tell you that I had to FORCE my friends to watch the first three movies… and I’ve been watching Clone Wars for the first time (I know I’m late I am sorry…) and it’s so TERRIBLE to have 0 person to talk to ever. So please don’t mind coming to me and rant if need be, I will be more than happy
omg thank you I appreciate that! Don't worry about me, this isn't my first hyper fixation rodeo, I dump all my thoughts on tumblr! I actually love being that person in film school, it's genuinely hilarious putting film bros in a situation where they can't spew their bullshit. They get this look on their face, with like a little shift of their eye to the side, when they realize they have no idea how to interact with what you're saying, even if it's about something they feel like they should be knowledgeable on. A lot of them have absolutely zero clue how to keep a conversation going outside of their own frame of refence, and a majority of their frame of reference is spewing back what other people have said before.

personally (take note I have never seen the star wars sequel trilogy) I think I could love reylo if I did not love Han Solo so much and want the original trio to have a happy ending and got to grow old together. From what I heard of the sequel trilogy, I won't watch it because of said reasons(also because of how Han Solo was killed off!). Bits and pieces of the trilogy had good points, I just think it could and been written better. And like instead of having the original trio in the series. Leave them alone and make the people who help Rey and friends be descendants from the orginal trio. Like make all the bad things like many years after the trio has died. They won their war. Let them have their happy ending. Also I am totally fine with who Reys related to. It's just how they did it and ended Reys storyline(and kylos) from what I've heard I think is messed up. I feel like this sequel trilogy over all could have been written better if three things: they left the orginal trio out of it. They give better storylines and endings to Rey, Finn and Kylo. Kylo too om find with being related to the skywalkers some how. I just don't like how directly he's related affects the orginal trios happy ending.
In fact, I think it's very good to have shown that those we thought were the perfect and model heroes messed up the education of their only heir. It was a good reflection, I think. The problem is therefore not that the original trio has been tampered with, but quite simply that people are refusing that they could have made mistakes in the future and not been perfectly happy. For example, people were horrified by Luke's current life, but if George Lucas had taken care of it himself, well... he would have had a very similar life too. Same for Han Solo... The actor wanted his character to die, and that was how it was planned in the original trilogy. In fact, it is worth noting that each former member of the trio dies in an attempt to bring Kylo Ben back to the light side of the force, so obviously, by killing Kylo, beyond messing up the latter's entire redemption arc and the Rey's natural arc, where the two had to come together to establish a real form of balance that there was not in the force before, well that also messed up the arcs of the members of the trio for the dosage. They all sacrifice themselves so that Kylo can come back to the good side and potentially be happy, all so that he also dies in the end. The problem with the sequel trilogy was quite simply the last film which did not take on anything from what the first 2 films had brought for fear of public reactions ! (Because a vocal minority of haters hated Kylo) Which is completely stupid... Anyway, all the arcs were messed up in the last film. Kylo, Rey, members of the original trio. Finn who ultimately doesn't bring any revolution to the Stormtroopers... Poe who behaves like a child again instead of the leader in the making that he learned to be in the 8th film... In short. Star Wars 9 was a disaster. It ruined the entire sequel story-wise. But I would still recommend watching it, just to see the wonder that is Star Wars 8. I maintain it, this film is excellent and in my eyes the best Star Wars after The Empire Strikes Back ! If Star Wars 9 had been done well, it would have been the second best trilogy after the original. Because yes... Star Wars 7 and 8 are better in my eyes than the entire prelogy on Anakin / Dark Vador.
Me when I think of the Star Wars 9 massacre :
But if you are interested in seeing a couple like Reylo, I recommend the chinese drama Love Between Fairy and Devil. He really is the Chinese Reylo !

If I may
I think fascism is such greatly depicted in sw.
Like ok the siths creep my out and make me feel uneasy but palpatine?.... The empire?... That shit scares the hell out of me
Because sure some bad guy with deadly fantastic weapon scares me, but some greedy politician who wants order and control and won't hesitate to hurt, threaten or kill people to get there hit closer to home for some reason...
At the end of the day the prelogy is the story of a far right winged guy slowly making is way to the top, slowly and subtlety enough that people do not see it coming. And all the things that came after that are just showing what a fascist government is. I really enjoy watching post rots content for this purpose, especially in the comics, it really shows all the manipulation and propaganda used that made us go from "everyone knows who the jedi are" to "I thought the jedi were just some old legend??" In a lapse of less than 15 years.
And yet people makes the jedi the bad guys??? (To the point that some discourse put on them the responsibility of their own slaughter????)
Ok you might want to find some nuance to it, but weren't the movies pretty clear on who the villains were??
Like ok you might say or think "Anakin wouldn't have turned to the dark side if *insert thing the jedi or his loved one did or didn't do*"
That's fair, I do it to
But
Let me break this down.... Anakin would have probably not turned if Palpatine didn't gaslight him and manipulate him in the first place....
Feels like a hot take, shouldn't feel like one
Just went on Youtube and on my fyp was ANOTHER extremely anti jedi video about how the jedi created darth vader and the comments were truly DERANGED...... when will it end... People seriously like have zero media analysis skills. Bums me out and makes me kinda scared looking at the bigger picture and how people much rather defend FASCISTS and do mental gymnastics to blame the jedi. Fucking tiresome to actually like star wars fr lmao

Oooh, fun ! SO ! Zorro OR White Collar ? Sergeant Garcia OR Corporal Reyes ? Don Alejandro OR Captain Monastorio ? DW!Bernardo OR 2024!Bernardo ? Cats OR dogs ? TV Series OR Films ? Books OR adaptations ? Star Trek OR Star Wars ? Annnd I'll stop there or I'll write so much more. As I said before... FUN ! x) Thank you, and take care !
AAAAAH how dare you attack me like that? XD
Zorro or White Collar? I'm afraid I'm gonna have to say White Collar. It was, is and will forever be my #1 show. I've loved it dearly, I still have just as much pleasure rewatching it, for the millionth time. I've lived some amazing times, which are unlikely to happen again - I've been to the set, met other fans, made friends, met the crew, and of course, met the cast. It was such a great experience and I'll cherish it forever.
Garcia or Reyes? But they come as a pair! Would you separate Laurel from Hardy? Asterix from Obelix? Peter from Neal? But I suppose, if you force my hand, I'll say Sergeant Garcia. He's a bit more developed as a character, while Reyes is mostly just there for comic relief. I do like Sergeant Garcia. He's often put in a complicated situation, stuck between a tyrannic boss and a jokster outlaw who makes fun of him. But he is truly a good man.
Don Alejandro or Captain Monastario? Alejandro I suppose. Monastario is a great villain, a great opponent for Zorro, but he's a terrible human being.
1957!Bernardo or 2024!Bernardo? Hmmm that's a tough question. I honestly can't say. I love them both, they both have a lovely relationship with their respective Diego. Maybe I'll go with 1957!Bernardo, cause I like his cunning way to use everyone's stupid prejudice toward his handicap against them. Oh he's deaf and mute, he must be stupid. He's harmless. Fools, all fools!
Cats or dogs? Indifferent, to be honest. Not really a pet person. Shocking, I know, sorry!
TV shows or films? Fun facts: for the longest time (until 2005-ish) I rarely watched any TV. But I have to admit that lately it seems TV has become more interesting, more daring, that the US film industry. French industry is blooming though. I'd say films, for the appreciation of the real art of filmmaking. TV shows for comfort and quiet obsession.
Books or Adaptations? Most of the time, books, though there has been cases of good adaptations (The Martian, for instance), or even, adaptations that were better than the book (Minority Report)
Star Trek or Star Wars? I'll go with Star Wars, mostly because I'm more familiar with it. Because I grew up with the prelogy. Because Obiwan and Andor. While I've only seen the 2 JJ Abrams Star Trek movies...
Sorry I took so long to answer. I had a long week (and you asked a lot LOL). Also, would love to know who you are, Anon, so that I can ask you back. ;-)
#a meme!#about me#sorry for the late answer#also you're supposed to give me one specific “or”#to make me choose#and i'd make a gifset

With Don Paolo in the original trilogy, being an old friend of Hershel, I figured that there would also be some kind of reveal for the main villain of the prelogy, aka Descole. But I knew they would not play the "old friend" card again, so I thought what else could it be? Old mentor? No, Hershel's mentor was Shrader. Old apprentice? No, Hershel seems too young to have had an apprentice this old. So I thought it must be some family relations. Also, the fact that Descole wore a mask had me even imagining that he was Hershel's hidden twin or something. But then I thought about Hershel's parents, we can see in MM, and I thought "they would never hide a second son, would they??", and then I threw this whole twin-brother theory away. And then Descole revealed himself as Hershel's brother 😶
Azran Legacy spoilers…
