Discover India’s Ceramic Culture with Pottery Courses
India is home to many centuries-old cultures, traditions, and art forms, including its vibrant ceramic culture. With Pottery courses emerging in many states like Himachal Pradesh, the prospects for embracing and preserving this ancient craft has never been brighter. Through its workshops and hands-on classes, budding artisans throughout the country can garner a greater appreciation for the art of ceramics.
India has a long and varied history of ceramic craftsmanship. It dates back at least 4,000 years to the Harappan civilization, which is credited with the invention of pottery kilns used for firing glazed and unglazed ceramics. During the Mughal period, potters from all over the country converged in Faizabad, the late 17th century capital of the empire, and produced some of the most beautiful and intricate works of this art form.
Today, Indian ceramics are used in many areas of life, including the production of dishes, vessels, furniture, and figurines. It is also a popular choice for decorative items and statues due to its deep symbolism and history of ornamentation using motifs such as flowers, birds, and animals. Pottery courses offered in India by Dharamkot Studio offer a great opportunity to discover and learn more about this cultural heritage.
These classes usually encompass an introduction to the various techniques used in ceramics, such as rolling, throwing, carving, engraving, pattern work, and glazing. Participants may also be taught about the history, symbolism, and purpose of ceramic art, as well as the different types of clays and stains available, the firing process and how to identify the most appropriate type of pottery for a particular project. Through first-hand experience, students also learn about the craftsmanship, attention to detail and design that goes into every ceramic piece.
In addition to gaining technical knowledge, pottery courses provide an invaluable opportunity to observe and appreciate India's long-standing ceramic culture. Aspiring potters can witness first-hand the skill, craftsmanship, and creativity that goes into creating a piece. It also encourages an understanding of the centuries-old tradition and the various sources of inspiration that inform the craft.
Whether it's through an online program, a wandering artisan, or a professional art studio, India's ceramic culture can be explored, celebrated and preserved through pottery courses. By learning its various techniques, symbols, and process, participants in India can gain a deeper appreciation for one of India's most enduring art forms.

↠︎ featuring: nanami, toji, choso, gojo, and geto
↠︎ continuing my college!jjk series and we're starting with this! i love the idea of reader having her own relationship with the boys and vice versa!
Tumblr media
➞︎ it isn't often that you guys get to go on adventures together.
➞︎ most of the time its a bunch of mini side quests with one another at different times.
➞︎ when you have afternoon classes, gojo and geto are usually finishing up their day as well.
➞︎ which turns into the three of you taking the train into tokyo, blowing gojo's money on sweets and food.
➞︎ sometimes you guys catch a car meet on the off chance y'all end up on that side of town when its happening (a/n: i hc the group to be into cars but geto, toji, and choso are the biggest gear heads)
➞︎ some days, you and nanami spend mornings together.
➞︎ mostly spent in the nooks and crannies of libraries or by the window in a bakery/cafe.
➞︎ sometimes, when you guys have book club, he'll put together a picnic for the two of you.
➞︎ there's a garden with a bunch of Japanese maple trees that the two of you found once.
➞︎ it's y'all's secret third spot. 🤫
➞︎ surprisingly, choso started tagging along with you to toji's practices/matches after a couple months of you doing it.
➞︎ while you were focused on the 'pr' side of things for the boxer, choso took on the role of sparring partner.
➞︎ so now, you had not one, but two gym bros on your hands as choso started hitting the gym srsly.
➞︎ don't worry, it's not always a fist fight with those guys.
➞︎ choso is always finding some new spot to try, mostly art or herbal shops, and toji drives while you tag along for the ride.
➞︎ meanwhile, toji's always finding some mountain to hike! gd its exhausting keeping up with him sometimes!
➞︎ but they're the only two to stick around for when you have your 'bring it on' marathon, so you endure :)
➞︎ geto is in the tattoo shop late at night some weekends and whenever you're available, you pop a squat on the comfy futon he has in his space and chill.
➞︎ he appreciates the company whenever he's working on a client after hours or working hard on designing a new piece.
➞︎ he uses you as a gauge for when he's been working too long. if you've been silent for more than an hour, he knows it's time to wrap it up.
➞︎ gojo is a slut for his monthly massages. he got you one as a birthday gift one year and y'all have been going together ever since.
➞︎ he's always the one you're trying bazaar shit with. cos why tf did he fire up the private jet just so the two of you could visit the blue lagoon.
➞︎ in ICELAND btw
➞︎ toji secretly likes to cook.
➞︎ like loves to cook actually.
➞︎ you only found out when it was just the two of you at home one weekend (nanami on a business retreat with geto, gojo visiting his family (begrudgingly he says), and choso went camping with his brother's) and toji threw down after the joint sesh y'all had.
➞︎ i mean the spread was spreadin'
➞︎ he swore you to secrecy, cooking was smth he didn't want the other's taking advantage of (he's just scared of rejection ((that wouldn't happen)) 🙄).
➞︎ one time y'all took a dessert class and learned to make matcha swiss rolls 🤤
➞︎ toji looked cute in his lil apron and hat ;)
➞︎ choso invites you to art exhibits with him and drags you along to the newest infrastructure being built in the city
➞︎ there's a local pottery/glass blowing shop in downtown Sendai, that the two of you frequent to make clay pottery.
➞︎ at some point, choso designs the most beautiful sculpture out of clay and all of you show up for he showcases it at his first art show!
➞︎ you were the sculpture
➞︎ every once in awhile you guys link up for a group activity.
➞︎ its usually toji's fights but most recently you guys went to the opera!!!
➞︎ geto somehow ended up on stage for a brief moment but that's a story for another time cause 😅

iwaizumi hajime x reader; fluff/angst, feudal au
inspired by Philippa Gregory’s The Lady of the Rivers
wc: 998
Tumblr media
The fire crackles in the hearth by the time Hajime returns home.
It has been a long, yet well-spent day: the bears are retreating into the mountains for the rest of the autumn, and Lord Oikawa will have a nice new bearskin pelt to show off when he visits the royal court next spring. All in all, a productive hunt. And the hunter is now hungry.
Your face glows from flickering orange flames as you prepare supper: a simple fare of rice, soup, and tofu with bonito shavings. A far cry from the meals you were once used to, but the contentment in your eyes is enough to make Hajime hope you don’t regret coming here.
Hana, the only maidservant brave enough to follow you to this out-of-the-way province, guides you in preparing the meals. “Yes, I think that’s enough, my lady,” she says patiently. “Just let it simmer for a few minutes, and it’ll be ready to eat.”
“Thank you,” you tell her softly. Your sweet yet measured voice brings the freshness of spring into the house despite it being a cold autumn night. The gods must favour him above all others, Hajime thinks, for why else would he be able to come home to such a beautiful, lovely wife?
Mere weeks ago, Hajime thought he was fortunate to escape with his life, never mind his bride and the small plot of land you two now call home. But as he settles into his fifth month of marriage, he finds that this shabby little estate is more blessed than any other place in the world. For this land, this house…they now hold the woman he loves the most. They hold his whole world.
You raise your head, and see him standing in the corner, watching you with the smallest of smiles on his lips. “Welcome back, danna-sama,” you greet, bowing deeply.
Hajime wishes you wouldn’t be so formal with him. This is not a royal marriage. The two of you can live as easily and freely as birds in the sky.
But even he knows the gods cannot grant him everything.
“I’m home,” he replies.
“Supper is almost ready,” you tell him. “Once you’ve eaten, I can prepare the bath. You must have had a tiring day.”
“I did,” he admits, joining you at the hearth. The warmth soothes him after a day out in the cold. A single brown leaf falls from his hair and onto the rough floor underneath. The house is old, and was hardly used before you and he arrived, but there’s nothing a few tools can’t fix. Hajime’s already made sure the roof and walls are ready to withstand the upcoming winter. He had better check on the firewood supply soon.
You dismiss Hana, who gives Hajime a friendly wink. He has known her a long time - ever since she was a lowly maidservant at the royal palace and he was a humble soldier pining for the young Emperor’s cousin. He wouldn’t even have known you loved him back had she not whispered it to him in passing on that beautiful spring morning.
“How did you spend your day?” Hajime asks, watching the soup bubble in the pot.
You think for a moment. “After you left, I checked the tools we’ll need to harvest the vegetables tomorrow,” you say. “Once I finished that, Hana and I brought in some water from the well. Then…oh, we went to the market to sell some pottery.”
“Pottery?” Hajime repeats. Then he remembers.
The delicate vases Hana packed so carefully as your exile was announced at court. The painted pots you had arranged so beautifully in your old rooms. The long-necked pot that was a gift from your father - the son of an Emperor himself.
Gone. All gone.
Along with the illusion he’s held in his mind all these months.
“We got a good price,” you continue, not noticing the drooping of his firm shoulders; the fact that you and Hana were able to drive a hard bargain has you lost in another world. “Danna-sama, you should have heard what they were offering us at first! Goodness me, if it hadn’t been for Hana, we might have been robbed! What would I do without her?”
Hajime thought he could provide you with a good life. He could scoff now at his naïveté: how is this a ‘good’ life when you have to sell the few possessions you were allowed to bring here? How is it a good life when you now reside in a shabby, worn-down wooden house, far away from the royal luxuries you called your own? How is it a good life when the former saiō of Ise Shrine, one of the most eligible royal brides in the country, is now living as the wife of a humble soldier, banished from court for making such an outrageous marriage? You and he were lucky to leave the court alive.
The night of your wedding, Hajime promised to keep you happy and safe. He’s already come close to breaking that promise.
He’s already failed as a husband.
“She chose you,” Lord Oikawa once told him, in the early days of the exile. “She could have had the riches of the court, but this is the life she chose. Don’t underestimate her: she knew what she was getting into.”
As your cousin (and now, unfortunately, Hajime’s cousin by marriage), Lord Oikawa knows you well, so perhaps he spoke the truth. Even so, Hajime’s heart twists into a painful knot as he watches your delicate hands - having known little beyond conducting rituals and writing poetry - stir the bubbling soup one final time before pouring some into a wooden bowl.
You gave up everything for him. You chose to give up everything for him.
The miso soup is saltier than Hajime is used to. But does it come as a surprise? No, not really.
At least you’ve turned back to the hearth - that way, you won’t see his tears.

My wife and I got married in the Hamptons of Cleveland, a small gated community an hour south of Buffalo called the Chautauqua Institution. A year later, steps from where we had danced to a Beatles cover band, someone stabbed Salman Rushdie.
I worry Chautauqua will be known for that attack someday. When I tell a friend where we were married, will I see their face change in subtle recognition? Will it become like saying you went to Columbine High School but graduated years before the shooting?
Probably not. The Chautauqua lore is so rich that it’s unlikely to be known for any single event. It’s been praised by the New York Times for being a spiritually and intellectually satisfying retreat, and bashed in the New York Times for its Boys’ and Girls’ Club, the oldest children’s day camp in the country, one that still separates the sexes.
“Chautauquas,” according to the first few pages of Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance once littered the United States. Intellectuals toured the country giving lectures during the Lyceum Movement, an experiment in adult education for the masses. Chautauqua, New York was the flagship community and is also one of the few Chautauquas that has survived.
An entire page of my sophomore American History textbook was devoted to Chautauqua. Writers, politicians, comedians, and essayists all traveled on the lyceum circuit to get their message out to the world. William Jennings Bryan was likely the most exciting speaker, a man who I first heard about in the play Our Town where the Stage Manager excitedly tells the audience that “Bryan once made a speech from these very steps here.” Thanks to my family’s yearly vacations in Chautauqua, I too had seen some steps where Bryan had once made a speech. Exciting stuff. I was walking through a page of my history textbook every summer.
Though I knew the place was somewhat famous, Chautauqua’s history often seemed embellished. Once, a nice white-haired lady walking past me on the road, unprompted, pointed at a patch of grass beyond the institution’s fence and said “You know, Amelia Earhart landed her plane on that golf course once.” Sure she did, lady. Then a few days later, I’d found myself in the Chautauqua library staring at a giant black-and-white photo of Amelia Earhart standing on the Chautauqua golf course. It’s near a few photos of FDR in front of the Chautauqua Opera House.
It’s difficult to describe Chautauqua to the uninitiated. I happily let my wife describe it for others whenever the subject comes up: “It’s the set of Dirty Dancing.” Aside from the fact that it’s not in the Catskills and the spirit of the place is a little more centered on intellectual/spiritual edification, it is exactly like the set of Dirty Dancing, complete with a treelined lake, an enormous hotel, and a house full of actors and dancers at one end of the grounds who let loose, partying every night to the wee hours (10 PM) when everything in the Institution closes and strict quiet hours are enforced. Women can even take Ballroom Dance classes with young men, though I get the sense that both parties are a little more puritanical than Swayze and his students. Unfortunately, also like the movie, thanks to a few speakers from the Heritage Foundation, there are also several Chautauquans who like Ayn Rand.
For the kids who grew up going to Chautauqua every summer, it was a giant playground. We went during Week Five of the season consistently and became fast friends with anyone our age. Boys’ and Girls’ Club hours went from 9 AM to noon, and from 2 PM to 4 PM so parents could attend talks or a pottery class while the kids were playing dodgeball and rehearsing for Air Band (a lip-syncing competition for all club attendees). Because the Institution is safe compared to nearly every place people visit from, the kids roam free. They have carte blanche to do whatever they please during daylight hours. We biked, ate mountains of ice cream, or played ping pong for hours when we weren’t at club playing GaGa Ball, a game where you hunched over and used your hands to hit your opponents’ ankles with a volleyball.

A retreat offers the perfect escape to unplug, recharge, and reconnect with yourself. The 7 Days Retreat is an ideal way to disconnect from the distractions of daily life and embark on a transformative journey toward mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Day 1: Arrival and Settling In
The first day of the retreat sets the tone for the entire week. As you arrive at the retreat destination, whether it’s nestled in the serene mountains, by a tranquil beach, or deep within nature’s embrace, you’ll be welcomed with warmth and tranquility. The key to the first day is settling in — leaving behind the stresses of the outside world and embracing the peaceful environment.
Opening Ceremony: Begin with an introduction to the retreat’s offerings. Meet like-minded individuals and set intentions for the week.
Mindfulness Meditation: Ease into relaxation with a guided meditation to center your thoughts and prepare for the days ahead.
Evening Reflection: Journaling your thoughts and emotions before sleep can help track your personal growth over the course of the retreat.
Day 2: Disconnect and Grounding Practices
The second day is about fully disconnecting from technology and grounding yourself in the present moment. This will help you dive deeper into the retreat experience and focus on personal growth.
Digital Detox: Turn off all electronics, allowing yourself to fully immerse in the retreat.
Nature Walks: Guided walks through nature, where you can absorb the beauty of the surroundings and engage in reflective thinking.
Yoga for Relaxation: An hour of gentle yoga to stretch, release tension, and connect with your body.
Day 3: Inner Reflection and Wellness
Day three is dedicated to deep inner reflection and exploring various wellness practices that nurture the mind, body, and soul.
Self-Discovery Journaling: Engage in exercises that promote self-reflection, helping you uncover personal insights and growth opportunities.
Holistic Nutrition Class: Learn the importance of eating well for both physical and mental health, with a focus on nutritious, plant-based meals.
Massage Therapy: Enjoy a rejuvenating massage to release any stored tension in the body.
Day 4: Mindfulness and Emotional Healing
On day four, the focus shifts toward mindfulness and emotional healing practices. It’s a day to explore emotions, heal past wounds, and gain tools to cope with life’s challenges.
Mindfulness Meditation: Deepen your practice with longer sessions that allow you to connect more profoundly with your inner self.
Emotional Release Workshop: Guided exercises to release negative emotions, blockages, or past traumas, facilitating emotional healing.
Sound Healing: Experience the power of sound through Tibetan singing bowls or crystal therapy, promoting balance and emotional healing.
Day 5: Physical Rejuvenation
By day five, you’ll begin to notice the positive effects of relaxation and introspection on your physical well-being. Now it’s time to focus on physical rejuvenation through exercise and nutrition.
Morning Stretch and Breathwork: A session of breath-focused stretching to promote energy flow throughout the body.
Nutritional Cooking Class: Discover how food can be a tool for wellness as you prepare a healthy meal using fresh, whole ingredients.
Afternoon Restorative Yoga: A gentle yoga practice to rejuvenate the body and mind, perfect for those who have been engaging in more active pursuits.
Day 6: Creative Expression and Connection
Day six invites you to tap into your creative side and connect with others. This is a day to celebrate self-expression and enjoy the community aspect of the retreat.
Art Therapy: Explore your inner artist through painting, pottery, or writing. Let your creativity flow without judgment or limitation.
Group Sharing Circle: Share your experiences with others in a safe, supportive environment, fostering deeper connections.
Evening Bonfire and Reflection: Gather around a bonfire for an evening of storytelling, music, and connection, allowing for emotional bonding.
Day 7: Integration and Closing Ceremony
As the final day of the retreat arrives, it’s time to integrate everything you’ve learned and experienced. The last day offers an opportunity to reflect on your journey and make a plan to carry the insights and transformations back into your daily life.
Integrative Meditation: A final meditation that helps you anchor the peace and clarity you’ve gained throughout the week.
Reflection Journaling: Reflect on your retreat experience and journal your intentions for moving forward.
Closing Ceremony: The retreat concludes with a ceremony that celebrates your personal growth and sets the intention to carry the lessons learned into your life.

Transformative Experiences: How Wellness Holiday Packages Can Change Your Life
From walking on pristine beaches at sunrise, inhaling the mountain air, and having a mindful meditation session, to feeling your muscles unfold decades' worth of tension with skilled hands – all this begins those deep personal transformations. Wellness holiday packages bring to you more than just a break in routine; they are one step toward rediscovering and finding a new purpose.
The Secret Strength of Wellbeing Getaways
Corporate lawyer Sarah Mitchell of Boston never thought that a wellness retreat would radically change her point of view. "I was running on empty," she recalls. "Sixty-hour work weeks, processed meals at my desk, and constant stress had become my normal." After a wake-up call in the form of a panic attack during an important meeting, Sarah booked a two-week wellness package in Costa Rica.
It was slow to manifest. There were first the tangible changes: improved sleep, digestion, and renewed energy. And then something deeper shifted. Through guided meditation, yoga, and holistic healing sessions, Sarah was discovering patterns in her life that had gone unnoticed. "It wasn't just about relaxation," she explains. "It was about learning to live differently."
Beyond Traditional Vacations
Wellness holiday packages are completely different from all the traditional holidays. While regular vacations might leave you needing a "holiday from your holiday," wellness retreats focus on:
Holistic Healing: Meeting the requirements of the body, mind, and spirit
Skill Building: Acquiring knowledge to ensure change is maintained in the long term
Personal Growth: A new perspective and opportunities
Community: Connection with other like-minded individuals who share similar journeys
Real Stories of Change
"I looked to the wellness stay for stress relief, but I discovered my passion for pottery in creative workshops. Now, I find my daily meditation." Michael Chen, a software developer, was a three-week guest at a wellness retreat in Thailand: yoga and meditation in the morning; counseling on healthy nutrition; art therapy sessions; time away from digital devices; and community dining.
"The program helped me get free from screen addiction and recall practical experiences in the real world," Michael testifies. Six months on, Michael retains many practices he learned while away – a regular digital-free weekend, to name one.
The Science Behind the Transformation
Research validates the deeper impact of wellness retreats. A study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine revealed that participants in week-long wellness programs demonstrated:
30% decrease in stress hormones
Better sleep quality
Enhanced immune system functioning
Improved management of emotions
Long-term lifestyle modification
Components of Transformational Wellness Programs
The most effective wellness holiday packages combine some of the following components:
Professional Guidance
Duly certified wellness professionals
Nutritionists and health coaches
Mental health practitioners
Spiritual guides (depending on the program)
Holistic Programs
Personal wellness plans tailored for the client
Proportionate body activities
Emotional well-being support
Nutrition education
Supportive Environment
Cosseting natural environment
Shared space for like-minded people
Health-friendly, nourishing food
Opportunities for introspection
Investment in Self
Business owner and single mother Emma Rodriguez didn't have a wellness retreat in her plans right away. "The cost seemed too high until I realized I was spending more on quick fixes – shopping therapy, weekend spa visits, and stress eating." Her two-week wellness package in New Mexico provided tools for lasting change.
"Six months later, I'm still practicing morning meditation, eating mindfully, and maintaining boundaries at work. The retreat wasn't just a vacation – it was an investment in my future well-being."
Choosing Your Transformative Experience
When you choose a wellness holiday package for yourself, consider the following factors:
Personal Changes: What are you aiming to change?
Programme Length: How long do you have to transform?
Location: Which environment suits you best?
Program Focus: Which of the wellness areas do you want to focus on?
Trendy Package Types:
Stress management and recovery from burnout
Fitness and weight management
Spiritual growth and meditation
Emotional healing and mental health
Digital detox and mindfulness
The Journey Continues
A wellness holiday program is merely a starting point for a process, not an endpoint. Many resorts have after-care, online groups, and materials to support you in continuing your positive lifestyle changes after returning home.
Imagine: your life quality heavily depends on how healthy you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. A wellness holiday package provides you with more than a temporary escape into the unknown but tools, knowledge, and experiences that can really change your life.
Ready to take the first step in starting your transformative journey? There's the perfect wellness retreat waiting for you – invest in the most important aspect of your life: yourself.
