Sucks that I can't find a list of rpg maker games for Switch. I have to stumble on them randomly and it's annoying.
I don't play pc games for various reasons, so I'm delighted when I can finally play an rpg maker game on my Switch, but there should be a list.

When the daughter of the Opal Emperor succeeded him as the Amethyst Empress, her envious younger brother cast her down and slew her, proclaiming himself the Bloodstone Emperor and beginning a reign of terror. In the annals of the Further East, it was the Blood Betrayal, as his usurpation is named, that ushered in the age of darkness called the Long Night. Despairing of the evil that had been unleashed on earth, the Maiden-Made-of-Light turned her back upon the world, and the Lion of Night came forth in all his wroth to punish the wickedness of men.
The challenges he faced were daunting, for winter had descended upon Westeros and would endure for four long years, a winter as cold and bleak as any in the history of the Seven Kingdoms. Late that year, a dreadful contagion swept across the Three Sisters. The Winter Fever, as it was called, killed half the population of Sisterton. The surviving half, believing that the disease had come to their shores on a whaler from the Port of Ibben, rose up and butchered every Ibbenese sailor they could lay hands on, setting fire to their ships. It made no matter. Whether or not the fever had been born in the dark forests of Ib and brought to Westeros by a whaler, as the Sistermen believed, it was assuredly moving from port to port. White Harbor, Gulltown, Maidenpool, and Duskendale had been afflicted, each in turn; there were reports that Braavos was being ravaged as well. ...a threat far worse than any “witch queen” descended on the city. For on the third day of 133 AC, Winter Fever arrived in King’s Landing. The summers have been shorter since the last dragon died, and the winters longer and crueler.
The brother usurped his sister and started a bloody war against her, and this led to a long night.
The brother usurped his sister (during Rhaenyra's lifetime Westeros witnessed a 'dragon-boom'), and this led to the extinction of dragons.
Daenerys brought dragons back to life and will end the long night.

Cancelled Missions: Skylab Rescue Mission (SL-R)
Mission patch for rescue mission for SL-3
Spacecraft: CSM-119
Launch Vehicle: Saturn IB AS-208, later AS-209
Commander: Vance D. Brand
Command Module Pilot: Don L. Lind
Intended launch date: September 1973, (on standby from August 1973 - February 1974)
Skylab rescue mission crewmen Vance Brand (left) and Don Lind.
"Influenced by the stranded Skylab crew portrayed in the book and movie 'Marooned', NASA provided a crew rescue capability for the only time in its history." Prepared for launch during Skylab 3."
"Skylab rescue vehicle phasing - NAR Space Division drawing illustrates phasing of 5-seater Skylab rescue vehicle for a Skylab mission."
Date: April 5, 1971
"A kit was developed to fit out an Apollo command module with a total of five crew couches. In the event a Skylab crew developed trouble with its Apollo CSM return craft, a rescue CSM would be prepared and launched to rendezvous with the station. It would dock with the spare second side docking port of the Skylab docking module."
- information from Astronautix.com: link
"The Apollo Command Module as modified to rescue stranded crews for the Skylab program. Two crew + three rescuees packed like sardines...."
"Skylab 3 astronauts Alan Bean and Jack Lousma helped design the "field modification kit" to use a standard CSM for rescue, and would have flown the CSM for their mission to rescue Skylab 2 if necessary. The standard Skylab Command Module accommodated a crew of three with storage lockers on the aft bulkhead for resupply of experiment film and other equipment, as well as the return of exposed film, data tapes and experiment samples. To convert the standard CSM to a rescue vehicle, the storage lockers were removed and replaced with two crew couches to seat a total of five crewmen."
Posted on Flickr by Mike Acs. NASA ID: 108-KSC-70P-69
"Soon after Skylab 3's launch the crew's CSM developed a problem with Quad B, one of its four reaction control system thrusters. On August 2, 1973, six days later, a snowstorm-like effect outside the station startled the crew during breakfast. What appeared to be 'a real blizzard' was fuel leaking from Quad D, opposite from Quad B. The malfunctions left two available quads, and while the spacecraft could operate with just one, the leaks posed a possible risk to other systems. The fuel for all quads and the main service propulsion system (SPS) engine were from the same batch; if the SPS fuel was contaminated, the CSM might not be able to deorbit.
source
NASA considered bringing the crew home immediately, but because the astronauts were safe on the station with ample supplies and because plans for a rescue flight existed, the mission continued while the Saturn IB rocket AS-208 with CSM-119 was assembled in the Vehicle Assembly Building at Launch Complex 39 for possible use. It was at one point rolled out to LC-39B.
Illustration of the rescue Apollo spacecraft preparing to dock at Skylab’s lateral port. source
NASA announced on August 4 that Skylab 3 and Skylab 4 backup crewmen Vance Brand and Don Lind would fly any rescue mission; they had immediately begun training for the flight once the second quad had failed on August 2. After engineers found that the leaks would not disable the spacecraft, the two men used simulators to test reentry using two quads. If ground personnel worked 24 hours a day and skipped some tests, the mission could launch on September 10, and would last no more than five days. The astronauts would attempt to prepare Skylab for further use but returning experimental data and diagnosing the cause of the problem were more important, with Lind choosing what would be brought back. Human urine and feces samples and Apollo Telescope Mount and other film were the priorities. Although Skylab had two docking ports the primary one would be used if possible, jettisoning the Skylab crew's CSM if necessary.
Posted on Flickr by Drew Granston: link
While many within NASA believed that the rescue mission would occur, within hours of the failure of the second quad the agency canceled the rescue mission. Beyond NASA's conclusion that the failed quads would not disable the Skylab 3 CSM and the SPS fuel was uncontaminated, Brand and Lind had already shown during their training as backup Skylab crewmen that a reentry with failed quads was safe. They also devised a method to deorbit with the command module's attitude control system. Later joking that they were 'very efficient but perfectly stupid, because we have literally worked ourselves out of the mission', Brand and Lind continued to train for a rescue mission, as well as for their backup roles, but the Skylab 3 crew was able to complete its full 59-day mission on the station and safely return to Earth using the two functional RCS thruster quads, using the SPS engine once instead of twice as precaution."

Saturn IB SA-208 was used for Skylab 4 and SA-209 was assigned to the standby rescue mission. At one point, CSM-119/SA-209 was slated for the Skylab 5 mission but it was cancelled when SL-4 was extended and completed all of it objectives.

Later, CSM-119/SA-209 was the backup launch vehicle for Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mission and standby rescue vehicle. After the Apollo program ended, the surplus rocket and spacecraft were displayed at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida.

What are some good new RPG maker games?
I played some ages ago, but the websites have now all been nuked because they were full of ripped assets from SNES games.
ooh i can answer this
for ones with no real combat that've been around for a while, yume nikki is good, but i've mainly played .Flow, a fangame of it, which has a darker tone and atmosphere with more understandable "goals", so i attached to it much more
Ib (eye, bee, as letters) is an interesting art game that appeals to emo/scene aesthetics that i like more, it has no combat but many puzzles and an incredibly interesting setting, to me
OFF is a french-translated RPG which is kinda the best in the business, the art & music are top notch and the gameplay is accessible, if seeing pictures of it or hearing music from it intrigues you, i think everyone should give it a shot.
almost all of these are real battle sprites. you play as a baseball player (The Batter) and purify ghosts as you come into existence. the fandom came & went in 2012-2014 or so, but the game's worth experiencing, very much. more games under the cut below the image
LISA: The Painful is an excellent game that has a post-apocalyptic setting and a weird axis/style for an rpgmaker game (being a sidescroller), the setting involves you playing as a very traumatized man living in a world where all women have gone extinct and people are fighting over nothing before the world ends, the feeling of it is pretty immaculate and the soundtrack is great but strange, it cultivated my interests at a developmental period
most of the aes can be described through this trailer
youtube
LISA also has a sequel (The Joyful) which takes place after the first to tie up the story, but most importantly is that the very interesting setting & vibe set up a slew of fangames, the strongest to start out with which are
LISA: The Pointless, where you play as a very washed up martial artist who gets dug out of a trash pile by a new friend he made; a gunslinger with a bolt-action pistol that only has one bullet, and thus he can never shoot it: only threaten enemies & fake out the fact that he MIGHT shoot them, to debuff them - this game also tightens up the RPG aspects of LISA significantly, and has an IMMACULATE vibe & unique feel, it's one of the most important games to me ever
and LISA: The Hopeful, which retains more of the aesthetic of the original as well as the goofy charm while telling a very compelling grounded story.
i also contractually need to mention Fear & Hunger, it's incredibly unfair and by most metrics fails at game design but if you're interested in body horror, cosmic horror & can stomach depicted (but very much so not portrayed positively) sexual violence, it's very good art
and finally, Hylics is an incredibly artsy game that's obtuse and strange but very beautiful. it's entirely sculpted and animated with clay, but i think (as someone interested in other claymation projects, but weaned off of them after a while) the aesthetic is notably better for hylics, it doesn't feel "gross" with its humor or too, "self-referential" i'd call it maybe?
the sequel, Hylics 2, is instead fully *animated* claymation that was then ported to blender, frame by frame. there's no other project on earth that really looks like Hylics 2.
youtube
i would highly recommend playing both if you gel with them at all or think they look cool, they're both pretty cheap on steam and are accessible for an RPG (if you can figure out its silly namings and mechanic equivalents for things like health & levelling up).
none of the games mentioned here have level grinding or random encounters, either (besides some parts of OFF)! i hate that! i only like good ones, i promise!
that's all, hope this helps lol

C-Weapon Identification: IB-04: LLD-018
"Bridge The Gap (Light Config)"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The third and final shape of Bridge The Gap was like a yet-to-bloom flower, its front closed up around the generator-turned-pulse-cannon within. Thin, dangling arms lent a sense of artificiality to it, like a poorly-made puppet loosely dancing at the end of a puppeteer’s strings.
Raven had never felt more powerful.
“We used to be afraid of this!?” Ayre cackled, the rapturous joy in her voice sending a bolt of heat straight to the cluster of ports between Raven’s artificial legs, an addition from Hal it had always questioned. Now however?
Now the Interconnected Human moaned into the C-Weapon’s microphone, the noise transitioning into a fit of dopamine-addled giggles as Bridge The Gap’s core opened up to vomit a concussive blast of pulse energy into the destabilized weapon.

The first day of the conference has... had its ups and downs for me.
I woke up at 7 AM because my stomach hurt. I then proceeded to have an IBS flareup until 10, which was when I was supposed to get to the reception desk because I was supposed to tweet about it. Because I'm in the social media team for the conference. I help out at the desk for a while even if I didn't need to because might as well be useful while I was there, right?
That goes fine, until lunch time rolls around, which is when us volunteers are told that we don't get free lunches until tomorrow onwards, but we're free to buy lunch. I didn't bring my wallet because I didn't want to leave it in my backpack unattended for hours on end. So I had to go home to eat food that I had cooked a few days ago. That's also fine because I live within a 15 minute walk from the campus so it'd take like 30ish minutes.
Except.
It was raining so hard.
And I didn't have a coat or an umbrella and I had very light shoes on.
But I went into the rain anyway and sloshed my way home. I immediately change into dry socks and eat lunch. Having learnt from my earlier mistake, I took my umbrella and coat with me this time.
I get back to the campus and help out at the registration desk again, until my two shifts for the day rolled around, which was maintaining zoom for two panel sessions.
and.
(:
It was a fucking nightmare. :)
The laptop we were using for the zoom calls and recording the panels didn't have any free ports left, so the panel speakers with usb sticks were like "what do" and i was like "UHHHH IDK". We ended taking one cord out for a second so we can dump their slideshow files onto the laptop, then plug the cord back in.
Except the cord we unplugged was the load-bearing microphone, and unplugging it fucked its settings and now i fear that the recording's audio is Fuckt(TM) because the mic kept blipping in and out during their presentations.
Also before the presentations, the projector wouldn't turn on. I had to call the IT help to come fix it, which caused the presentations to start 10 minutes late.
Hanyway. That was the first session.
For the second session, the IT support poked in and asked if things were going as planned. I asked about the USB ports and they told me to unplug the camera instead next time we needed an USB port. So we did that, but we kept plugging and unplugging the camera, so the second session's recording was like 80 % without camera.
So in conclusion, I am not an AV device expert and probably never will be. 🥲👍
At least I don't have to do any AV thingamajiggers tomorrow lololo

USS Texas (BB-35): Firing the 14 inch guns, Part 1: loading and operations inside the turret.
To fire each 14 inch/45 caliber gun, it required several moving parts and men to move in unison. Gun crews were trained consistently to maximize the amount of rounds fired per minute, as this could mean the difference between life and death in a fire fight.
Each turret required 70 men to operate, which moved the Shells and Powder Bags from their storage in the magazines, deep in the ship, to the Gun House to fire. Each shot required one shell and four powder bags and could fire a shot every 45 seconds. The shells can vary in weight from 1,400 to 1,500 IBS (635 to 680 kg) depending on the type used. The Powder Bags each weigh from 90 to 105 pounds (41 to 48 kg). Since the Bags were hand carried and loaded, several training manuals from the era recommended these men lift heavy weights every day. This was to ensure they had stamina to last during a prolonged fire fight. This entire process was very labour intensive compared to WWII battleships. The operation of the turrets did not change during her career, except for the addition of an electric hoist for the powder bags later in her career. It cost $777 in 1914 to fire one gun, or $21,110 in 2021.
The Shellman in the gun house calls up a shell, or projectile, from the Upper Handling Room. If there were shells already on this level, men would load a shell from a rack along the outer Bulkhead, onto Upper Projectile Hoist. If there weren't any or not of type requested, a new shell was ordered from the magazine. For more information on this, read my magazine post: link. These men would move the shell to the Lower Projectile Hoist and send it up. The Upper Handling Room could store 30 shells.
At the same time, an Officer ordered for Powder to be sent up. Powder Bags would be loaded onto Powder Hoist and carried up to the Powder Flat Room. See my post on the magazines for their storage and makeup: link.
From there, handlers would feed the bags into a cramped room of the Powder Transfer room, through a port in the floor. A sailor would place the bags on the powder tray. This tray had wooden rollers and the bags would slide down into the Gun Pit.
Two men, called Powder Man 1 and 2, would move the bags on the powder trays in the gun house.
In the Gun House, the breech was unlocked and swung to the side. A metal tray, called the Rammer Tray, was lowered to the breech seat. The shell would be shifted out of the Upper Projectile Hoist and aft onto the Shell Transfer Tray or dump tray.
Then the shell is rolled onto the Platform Tray (Loading Tray). A mechanical rammer would push the shell into the chamber.
It is there, two men, called Powder Man 3 and 4, would lift up the two powder bags from the powder trays and place them on the Rammer Tray. The bags had a rad patch on the back, which contained the primer charge, and would be placed facing aft. The Rammer Man would use a wood pole and with the assistance of the Powder Man 3 and 4, would ram the bags into the chamber. The process would be repeated so there were four bags in the chamber.
The Rammer Tray was folded up and out of the way. The Plugman would close and lock the breech. A primer change was placed on the back of the breech.
The gun crew in the Gun House and Gun Pit would move from their positions and stand along the side of the turret, out of the way as it was elevated and from gun recoil. An officer would then flip a switch to let the crew in the Main Battery Plotting know the gun was armed. See my post on the factors in the targeting and when the trigger was pressed: link.
After the gun was fired, the barrel was lowered back to 0°. The barrel still has hot residue gasses and other debris that can cause blow back, which can seriously injure or kill the crew. The Plugman turned a valve on the side of the barrel, which would release highly compressed air into the barrel to discharge the gas and any unburned material. The Plugman would open the breech and the Powder Man 3 would inspect the barrel for any remaining debris and damage to the gun itself. The Rammer Tray would lower and the process was repeated.
The last time her guns were fired was while transporting Soldiers home, sometime between November and December 1945 during Operation Magic Carpet. One of the men asked the Captain if he could fire one of her guns. The Captain obliged the returning soldier's request.
A special thanks to Tom Scott for allowing me to use some of his animation. He has posted a video on his YouTube channel and is worth a watch, link.

August! Welcome to the Fleet.
Weser and Elbe will show you around Port and set you up with accommodations in the Iron Blood dorms.
Graf Zeppelin is the leader of IB carrier operations and will get you kitted and your rigging up and running in the Armory. Once that is completed, your assignment will be to relieve Peter Strasser as IB liaison to NAVCOM. She’s been submitting transfer requests on a weekly basis to get back to the line for training and sortie. Strasser isn’t just big shoes to fill, she’s the shoes to fill. Here’s hoping your time management is a good as hers. FdG has little patience for those who can’t pull their tonnage, especially for carriers in her formations.

Some musings as I browse some of the Steam content for OneShot.
I’m missing these two. The first one I’m pretty sure is the restore the sun ending. The second one has a power button. Do I have to, uh, speedrun this game without turning it off once?
Also, I noticed they made a console port of this game recently.
A console port.
How in blue blazes do you play this anywhere other than a computer!?
Also also, there’s unused sound tracks plus soundtracks for the original game. Apparently there was a free version of this game that pre-dates the Steam version, just like Ib and Yume Nikki or Off.
