I’m working on the design for my 2019 portfolio (which intend to build myself). Maybe it’s weird to change it every year but I like to update my portfolio as my skills and the projects I work on are updated. In the past, I’ve been really hesitant to use color on my website, mainly sticking to white, black and shades of grey. And honestly this has been the same for a lot of my projects. So in 2019, I want to step up my color game and that begins with my portfolio. I was searching for some inspiration from other UXers and came across Liz Wells’s portfolio. I really love how simple her layout is and her use of color as an accent. She uses a couple different shades of indigo but it’s not overpowering. Very subtle, very effective. Will definitely be stealing borrowing some elements of her site!
