How to control porn addiction?: A deathly gust of wind for today's youth
Addiction means compulsion. An irresistible force inside your psyche to do the superfluous.
Watching porn belongs to the topmost part of this list of addictions. Porn offers our body a sudden eruption of dopamine which results in extravagant pleasure.
Five doors of dealings with porn addiction:
1. Acknowledge the vileness bonded with porn.
2. Consider the cravings born out of watching excessive porn resulting in an unhealthy relationship.
3. Thinking of every woman as a sex object kills the emotional attachment.
4. Wasting unnecessary money to fulfil the obsession results in debt or gambling.
5. Realising getting indulged in sex with prostitutes, visiting red light areas can cause life long illness or even death.

GETTING HELP FOR PORN ADDICTION
Some people may consider looking at pornography acceptable. But for Christian men, looking at pornography is a sin. Yet some Christian men become addicted to these images and must consider getting help for porn addiction.
What is Porn Addiction?
Porn addiction is the compulsive need to view pornography, despite its negative consequences. Porn addiction often begins as a coping mechanism for negative emotions resulting from unresolved trauma. You look at pornography because it temporarily makes you feel better. But before you know it, you can’t stop this behavior, and it’s causing you distress.
Signs of porn addiction include:
Being consumed with thoughts of porn
Feeling ashamed about looking at porn
Hiding your porn use
Trying unsuccessfully to quit looking at porn
Some men who try to stop watching porn experience withdrawal symptoms.
Is There Help for Porn Addiction?
You can recover from porn addiction. But recovery likely means healing the root cause of the addiction, then its symptoms. There are some ways you can attempt to control your porn habits and move toward recovery.
To help stop your porn habits:
Try Physical Non-Sexual Activity. If you feel like you’re about to give in and turn back to viewing porn, sit and hold hands with your wife or snuggle her. A non-sexual activity can turn your mind back to positive thoughts. It also can show your partner’s intimacy.
Set Goals. See if you can go a certain period without looking at porn, like members of 12-step recovery programs do with the objects of their addictions. The old maxim, “One day at a time” is more than just a catchphrase. It can be a way of life.
Avoid Triggers. Thoughts and urges can hit you when familiar, repetitive behaviors happen throughout your day. For instance, your trigger might be lying in bed alone with the door shut and your phone in your hand. If you know your triggers, you can avoid them and work to replace them.
Use Porn Blockers. You can install online blockers to help keep you from looking at porn on your computer or phone. You may even consider giving the passwords to a trusted other.
Talk to Someone You Trust. You don’t have to recover alone. Reaching out for help and accountability can be a great way to keep your pornography viewing habits in check. Enlist help from your wife, a close friend or clergy member, or a support group.
Call a Porn Addiction Hotline. There are numbers you can call to get in touch with caring, helpful people. You can reach out to them when you feel triggered.
Seek Treatment. Get help from a licensed mental health professional. You may even consider enrolling in a treatment program.
Draw Closer to God. Prayer, fasting, reading the Scriptures, and attending Church are all positive ways to turn your mind and thoughts away from sinful actions and toward the Lord Jesus Christ:
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” (James 4:7-8a, NKJV)
Getting Help for Porn Addiction
If your porn habits negatively impact your life, mental health, and self-image, it’s probably time to get professional help. It’s especially important to seek help if you’ve tried unsuccessfully to stop watching porn or you experience withdrawal symptoms when you try to quit.
Options for treating porn addiction include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT involves challenging and changing behavior and thought patterns. It ultimately helps people recognize and deal with the connections between their thoughts and feelings and the subsequent behaviors.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR unlinks positive feelings associated with porn addiction, which allows you to make new associations with those memories and, ultimately, process trauma.
Medication. Some medications increase the body’s level of serotonin, which can lead to a decrease in sexual behaviors.

how To Finding Lasting Freedom From Porn
What can motivate real change?
Those who battle with an unwanted porn habit are emotionally and psychologically exhausted as a result of the psychological rollercoaster. As the trend continues, we can see how we are foregoing other social, recreational, and even employment options that may provide us with greater lasting delight in our lives.
Stepping away from porn’s overwhelming short-term appeal is usually reserved for when the motivation to change becomes strong enough.
Unfortunately, most people who are struggling never seek assistance until they have hit a brick wall of repercussions, some little and others major. That incentive might include a stronger commitment to one’s sense of self, information on the dangers of pornography, and the real, tangible impact of this material on one’s own life and relationships.
Discovering the true value of recovery
The fact is that few people realize how powerful true healing can be. Instead, many people are still terrified, asking, “What will I do if I don’t have this means to get relief?” “How will I feel if I don’t have access to porn?”
Taking the initial step towards rehabilitation might be more difficult than you think. “I’d want aid, but there’s no way I can tell anyone about it.”
When compared to drug or alcohol addiction, it’s true that most people find it difficult to talk about undesired sexual patterns. You can still do it, though! Once someone has disclosed what appears to be a tremendous secret, they might begin to discover that they are not alone at all.
Finding freedom by ditching shame
When someone is hesitant to tell a parent or loved one about their predicament because they are afraid of the consequences, they are (more often than not) welcomed rather than rejected or shunned when they eventually do.
COVENANTEYES are great resources to find tools and advice to help anyone who struggles with porn. Click here to learn more about this recovery platform.

It’s been a long time. It’s been a difficult year in numerous ways and I’ve often been too run down, frustrated, angry, or just plain out of will to fight. Not gonna lie, I’ve spent much of this year depressed and in very dark places. I’m trying to remind myself my story isn’t over yet. My constant prayer is ‘God please don’t give up on me’. I know He won’t. It’s just as much to remind myself I am loved in spite of myself, not just if I follow correctly. I’ve resigned myself to accepting this is meant to be a difficult time in life. But it doesn’t mean thins will always be this way. I tell everyone else to take it one day at a time and have hope for better days. I should listen to myself.
