They had an agreement as they left the graduation ceremony: her degree certificate would be placed in their living room. He had picked a frame out special while she was busy one afternoon; it matched the decor that they were planning (of her design, of course), with roses etched into the dark wood. Special, almost as special as she was. When they returned home, the heels finally came off with an audible sigh of relief from Aki, bare feet padding against the wood floor as she entered the room. And there, stood upright on the coffee table, sat the frame. She smiled, cheeks warming despite how long they had been together. “Do you like it?” He followed after her, arms wrapping around her waist from behind as he pulled her closer, leaning over to give her a light kiss on the cheek. “I do, is it for this?” The certificate still in her hands, she turned her head so he could steal a peck from her lips. Was it really stealing if she was after it? He nodded in response. “I know we haven’t bought much for the new place yet, but I know this fits your plans.” He must have spent some time scrolling through her interior design Pinterest boards. He always did pay that much attention. “We can leave it on the mantle for now until we move in, then we can hang it up on the wall.” It was strange to speak about these sort of things so casually.

The move to live together had been easy, she had just moved into Poppo Time with him. if i’m allowed to speak on it, this will be tagged as infinite wealth spoilers. Just wanted to talk about how they handled kiryu on here and see if anyone else agrees with me. I know some of my mutuals on twitter do but I want to actually have an open discussion with others on it.

After chapter 7, when Yamai beats the shit out Kiryu and kidnaps him, I feel like the story took a turn for the worst. They clearly put no care into this game’s story at all, especially Kiryu’s part and it was really disappointing to me as Kiryu is probably my favorite character of all time. I personally saw no point in Yamai kidnapping him and then actually not doing anything to him, it felt contradictory, not to say characters can’t be but it felt like there was almost no consequence for it or it wasn’t meant to have an impact on you to begin with. They make you stressed out (at least I was) over what could potentially happen to him and did nothing with it. Kiryu’s bucket list was filled with shit that wasn’t even important. I don’t need to know that Kiryu went to a Poppo on Nakimichi St. at 7:57 am and bought a fucking bento. Maybe make space for shit that actually matters like his children or his relationship with the Jimas. Instead of having Kiryu spend what could be his last months with Ichiban’s friends (i love his interactions with Zhao and his relationship with Seonhee aside from the flirting don’t get me wrong), he should’ve had his party be the people who impacted his life the most. Haruka could have literally been the idol class. She could’ve fought alongside him even to his protest. They used a bunch of heat actions for Kiryu’s skills and could’ve done the same for the Jimas. The Jimas were literally just added into the game for exposition and a boss fight. Daigo seemed to be the only one who was expressive about Kiryu having cancer, Majima and Saejima didn’t even fucking care? Majima who waited ten years for Kiryu to get out of prison so he could train him to be better? Majima who got in the way of one of his subordinates to take a stabbing for Kiryu because he insisted he belonged to him and only he could kill him? Kiryu trusting Majima to the point where he would rather talk to him first than outright assume he betrayed him in 3. Kiryu having a breakdown thinking Majima was dead and almost broke his cover to seek revenge on his killer in 5. There’s way more I can get into but not caring that Kiryu has cancer? Only one sentence on the matter and that’s that? They want to convince us Kiryu and Majima never cared for one another and it feels insulting to us who actually value Majima and Kiryu’s relationship as friends (shipping aside) bc Kiryu and Majima both trust each other with their lives. Saejima and Kiryu also trust each other and have a friendship and it’s like Saejima might as well have not even been there cause he said next to nothing.

I would’ve been happier about him seeing Taichi had I not known he literally only sees him. Not even a single one of his other children does he see besides a scene I mention later on in the post.

Ichiban telling him he deserved to live for only about 2.5 seconds.. was that supposed to make me sad? Or cry? Sure I got teary eyed but they did not even give us enough time to sit with what Ichiban was saying for me to feel as emotionally impacted as I thought I would. Then Kiryu calling him pathetic for being embarrassed about what happened with Saeko? Like seriously? Kiryu may not be super expressive naturally but calling Ichiban pathetic for being rightfully embarrassed felt wrong.

Was Kiryu supposed to develop as a character in this game at all? Everyone keeps telling him that he shouldn’t take things on alone and that he should rest and then at the boss fight with Ebina he’s like I have to do this alone and Zhao and Saeko have to tell him this fucking bullshit again? As someone who can relate to Kiryu in many avenues (feeling like a burden, feeling like he needs to do things on his own instead of ask for help, feels like even the smallest things are my fault even when they aren’t), it felt like his development in this game was scarce to none then rushed right at the end for some villain who literally did nothing all fucking game. Am I supposed to care about Kiryu telling Ebina all this fucking bullshit? The only thing in that speech that made me teary eyed was Kiryu crying, not even what he was saying because I dont care about Ebina enough to waste tears on him cause he was so irrelevant in game.

And the icing on the cake, the final scene. Haruka and Haruto pull up and Kiryu isn’t even there, he’s in chemo and we get a scene of him just saying his actual name again. Not a single fucking interaction with Haruka or Haruto. No, I’m sorry for abandoning you guys I should’ve never done that. One of the, if not, MOST, important relationship in Kiryu’s fucking life, gets not a single fucking interaction. I literally cried because I was so fucking upset we couldn’t even get that. Like seeing the way they dealt with Kiryu in this game.. I feel like I got fucking shot in the chest (no need to be so dramatic). This was supposed to be a send off to Kiryu? After 3,5, and 6 being a send off? Like how many fucking send offs can you possibly fucking give Kiryu? If I knew this was going to happen I would’ve rather they just killed him off of tetanus like Dean Winchester.

It sucks knowing the journey I spent with Kiryu during all the fucking games I played ended up with so much disappointment. I woild literally wake up mad almost every day after chapter 7. It was that serious for me. There were other things besides Kiryu’s side of things that really upset me (the entirety of the Tatara Channel subplot, the mini games with Ichiban ended up being SA’d because a man being SA’d is funny apparently, Hanawa’s death, Seonhee being one of the first women (besides Daigo’s mom) in the game who’s a cool mafia boss for only half her bond interactions to be flirting with fucking Kiryu, them implying she is into women and then doing literally nothing with it, Saeko’s drink links revolving around some irrelevant man who asked to marry her when she got mad at Ichiban at the start of the game for that, to the point of ghosting him, Zhao and Joongi being complete fucking after thoughts, especially Joongi.. Zhao and Ichiban do not interact in the game at all whatsoever, only one plot related sentence). I fell in love with Kiryu for a reason in Yakuza 0. From going to 0 to possibly one of the worst send offs in any game I’ve ever seen; is fucking heartbreaking. I really hope they mean it this time because I cannot sit through another game with Kiryu in it unless he isn’t at peace with his children, where he is truly happiest. Please leave Kiryu alone and let him go.

Summary: It has been 2 years since they saved the future. Now the only thing left is to head towards it.

Notes: I had a bad case of 'Write the ending first' and this is what happens. This is the ending to the fix-fic series I have been writing. So, if you are waiting for the rest of the series do not read this. Inspiration happened out of order, so the story is written out of order. It can still be read as a one-shot.

Two years. It's been that long since they stopped Arc Cradle. In that time frame Crow had somehow managed to become part of Sector Security. A feat he never thought he would never accomplished. Just goes to show how much the city has changed for the better. Recently, he got a letter from the Shingon League. A pro dueling league. Crow had not thought about going pro at all. Just settling down in the city taking care of the kids in Satellite. It was a huge opportunity, that he should have jumped into immediately. But, "What about everyone else...?"

He did not want to leave them. The bond means too much to him to just leave. So he called up Yusei and the two managed to get the group together for a party.

The party started of terribly. Everyone seemed to be on edge, wanting to say something but no one knew how to start. Crow and Akiza arguing most certainly did not help matters. The tension finally broke when the twins yelled that they were going to go live with their parents. It started the domino effect of everyone spilling out what was going on. Akiza reveled she was leaving to pursue a career to be a doctor. And Crow... he was still on the fence about leaving. Never got to say anything because Jack barges into the building commanding the attention of everyone. at the end of it all Jack and Yusei agree to a duel, one that hold everyone's feelings.

Crow had invited Akiza to meetup with him. He wanted to apologized for arguing with her at the party. They met up at the cafe down the street from Poppo Time.

"Hey... I wanted to apologize. At the party...." Crow started.

"Its okay. Truthfully, you kind of helped solidify my choice to become a doctor." She said. Crow was definitely confused at this. "'Maybe true psychic power is to heal poeple.' That was what you said. It was what made me think about my path and helped me to realize that my powers... that I can heal people. So thank you Crow."

Crow was happy that Akiza found her lot in life. She had to go meet up with Yusei soon and Crow had his own plans too. The duo hugged each other goodbye.

"Oh, Akiza."

"Yes."

"Don't forget to give Yusei a big ol' smooch." Crow winked and made a kiss face.

"Why you!" Akiza turned bright red. Since Crow had no love interest, she had no rebuttal. So all she could do was stew in red hot embarrassment as Crow's laughter faded into the distance.

Crow sat next to the grave-sight. It was the last time he would get to come here for awhile.

"So I am leaving the city.... It was something that has been a long time coming. I'm going to become a pro duelist and reach the top. But that not the only thing I want to do while on the circuit. Pearson, I want to teach. I want to impart my knowledge behind on people just like you did with the kids and with me. Thank you for everything."

It was words that Crow wished he had the chance to say when he was alive.

Crow said his goodbyes to the children. It was very tearful. After all the crying, they saw their big brother Crow off with smiles on their faces.

The morning of departure came, and everyone was lined up on the empty highway. With Yusei at the lead, they all drove together one last time. Above them the Crimson Dragon appeared, and their marks shined. One-by-one the each of the dragons appeared in the sky. The Singer marks had not activated since the Arc Cradle incident. So, this indicates the end of them having the marks. All of the marks returned to the Crimson Dragon; there was no need for them anymore. It flew off into the sky, leaving behind a roar. As if to say, 'thank you, now go and live your lives'.

Yusei sped up and came to a stop. He raised his hand up and everyone clapped it as they sped by. Jack, Akiza, Leo, Luna, and Crow all drove together until it came time to take their separate paths. The road split off and each of them took a different route. Crow could see his friends fade away into the distance. It was sad while at the same time a happy feeling. Over in the distance he could see Satellite. The place where it all began. That is when it hit him, he was finally free.

Now the only thing left to do, was soar onto the future.

As someone who has been putting Mine and Jo (well, specifically RGGJo, but the premises still apply) in Situations since 2020… It is exceptionally hard to get them in the same room but with the power of mental illness we can make it happen.

Mine started out by poaching more profitable families from under their umbrella organizations, right? The Arakawa Family has always been fairly well-off for a third-tier family (if Masato's allowance is any indication), particularly compared to the Nishikiyama Family who weren't bringing in any profit at all, and Mine has pretty good instincts in terms of sussing out potential.

So it would be worth dropping by the office (probably to get turned away with Yet Another Lecture about codes of honor, Arakawa's pretty old-school). But. You know. Jo Would Be There. I feel like Jo may have considered it a missed opportunity in terms of the family's prosperity (though it's not like he can speak over Arakawa), since Mine's terms are insanely good from a business point of view, although it ultimately proves to be for the best when the Nishikiyama Family and Hakuho Clan dissolve.

On the other hand, very fun to think about what Mine would be in for if he attempted to blackmail them into submission As Per Usual, or what he'd even be able to dig up if he pulled out all stops and looked into them.

Mine does have a tendency to make way more enemies than friends, too, so maybe someone puts a hit on him and the Arakawa Family (i.e. Jo) is assigned to it. The Only Thing That Can Kill Mine Is Himself (Allegedly) so it wouldn't work out, obviously, but it would be epic… Mine could take him…

Or say Mine recovers from Dying and wants to disappear. The whole homeless quarter thing's a "secret," but the Arakawa Family must have some kind of reputation if people specifically go to them to start their new lives. They could be the ones to ship him off to Yokohama. I've always said that plot point makes it so pretty much any dead character could be brought back if it's believable enough that they could know about the Arakawas.

Hell, Mine didn't HAVE to join the Nishikiyama Family, they were just the first "in" he could find and he stumbled upon them basically by accident. It could've been any family. And perhaps if he joined the Arakawa Family instead, his quest for bonds could've had a bit less heartbreak… one or two new dads who're soft on him because he reminds them of their son… Jo wouldn't have anything to complain about either, Mine'd be the top earner for sure…

Or they just happen to be the two guys at the Poppo who happen to be tall enough to look over the shelves and they spend the whole time avoiding eye contact and then never meet again.

Many such scenarios…

with the power of mental illness literally anything is possible and i know now without a doubt this is SO TRUE
