Vlad sighed, his tone softening ever-so-slightly. He shifted to face Danny, and something turned in the boy’s stomach at the look in those ocean eyes. Not so cold as they were during dinner, they seemed to hold something tender in the shadowy streetlights. He was almost certain of it.

“I…” He started up without a goal in mind. Only knowing that he couldn’t leave it. “I need to- we need to talk.”
