Polygon Reveals "AggLayer" as a Revolutionary Paradigm for Scalable Blockchain Integration
Polygon Labs is at the forefront of driving a revolutionary change in blockchain design and scalability with its announcement of the AggLayer protocol. This forthcoming protocol, slated for launch in February as part of Polygon 2.0, signifies a pioneering effort to transcend the limitations inherent in existing blockchain models.
At the heart of AggLayer's innovation is the utilization of zero-knowledge proofs (ZK-proofs), a sophisticated cryptographic technique. By harnessing the power of ZK-proofs, AggLayer seamlessly unifies diverse Layer-1 and Layer-2 chains, effectively tackling the challenges posed by monolithic and modular chains. The result is a novel solution that promises scalable and user-friendly interactions within the blockchain space.
AggLayer aims to redefine user experiences, providing a platform that enables seamless interaction with applications and assets across different blockchains. The strategic deployment of ZK-proofs ensures the protocol's ability to execute secure cross-chain transactions and establish unified liquidity pools. This strategic move eliminates the complexities associated with current bridging processes, paving the way for a more cohesive and accessible blockchain ecosystem.
In contrast, the market journey of Polygon's MATIC token adds an intriguing layer to the narrative. The token recently witnessed a significant market development as it breached a two-month support barrier. The confirmation of a bearish Head and Shoulders pattern, coupled with a dip below $0.70, hints at a potential short-term downtrend. Against this backdrop, investors and traders remain vigilant, carefully assessing the implications of these market dynamics as they coincide with the impending launch of the AggLayer protocol.

White supremacy and the unattractiveness of Gaming in (white) Men
So, I was browsing on TikTok, and user (@) derrickthemindfulgamer (who has come across my timeline more than once) was talking about a website called "DEI Detected".
"DEI has been taking our culture for too long already, it is time to push back. Vote with your wallet!"
Effectively, it's a website designed to encourage the white supremacist, the smelly boot of the gaming space to boycott games developed by studios who hire sensitivity consultants, Black, and non-Black devs. Or games centered around (and written by) Black and non-Black identities.
This also includes games that are tweaked or patched for pre-existing issues, or issues that gamers raised a complaint about (if the devs didn't take it upon themselves to amend it without prompting).
His reaction was primarily amusement and bewilderment. Particularly because the intention of the website, designed to financially damage the games through boycotts, could also be used to direct interested parties toward games that aren't about what the website believes should be the standard of games. (The downside of course would be driving traffic to the site and boosting its ad revenue.)
The gaming side of TikTok in general seems to believe that bad actors are working tirelessly to reignite the GG movement (GG 2.0). And to that, I would say, typically the best way to handle that kind of behavior is to just never give it any fuel for its fire. Let them kick up a fit and bitch about people playing and making games that they enjoy.
The issue with that, of course, is that our mainstream gaming media and news outlets thrive on this kind of behavior, and have often encouraged it for the sake of revenue (if they aren't in support of it).
It's very much akin to the behavior that the Democrats displayed when they proactively encouraged Trumpet's campaign for the presidency back in the 2010s (and now in the 2020s), and legacy media fanned the flames.
Right now, there's naught but crickets, so I'm not terribly concerned. But I wouldn't be surprised if it kicks off one day and everyone from Polygon to Kotaku will be fanning the flames, and the bad-faith actors will be reveling in it.
It got me thinking about the news circulating about a poll where an overwhelming majority of people (presumably women) voted that men being gamers, or being heavily invested in gaming at all, was an unattractive trait.
The person doing the polling was (allegedly) a Right-Wing YouTuber (Liz Wheeler). What one considers unattractive about the still predominantly white and male gaming space, and what a Right Winger considers unattractive about men's gaming (at all) is probably night and day.
The whole thing caught fire on Twitter, and there was a lot of memeification and jokes about it. But also bafflement. That, or commenting on exceptions or outright rebuttals. The intention of the poll had successfully started up an online discourse about it, but it has since lost speed.
The thing of it is, even if that poll had been done in good faith and not by a reactionary right winger, the general behaviors in the gaming community, as defined by the DEI Detected website, don't disprove the idea that folk might find that hobby unattractive in men because of those sentiments.
That is to say, there is still a big concentration of men who make gaming their entire personality, who work to push Black and non-Black folks out of the games industry and community spaces altogether.
The sentiment regarding women engaging in the FGC and Esports has not disappeared. Neither has the toxicity women and people of color face for using voice chat in FPS online games or even playing games on Twitch. I think we've just done a better job at making those opinions extremely... unattractive to hold. So now only the most vitriolic (and generally most invisible) online reactionaries feel bold enough to say it for attention.
Gaming, comparatively, has the highest barrier for entry when it comes to establishing a strong enough groundswell where Black and non-Black folks can take place. Even with stories that aren't about constipated white men, exploitative depictions of (cis, white) women, and hyper-violence, they're not the norm.
The so-called hobby of gaming itself is more of a luxury than it is a genuine hobby, and the people who are typically 'othered' in the space (who make a niche of it) are exceptions, not the rule.
It's not enough that said folks and community largely keep to themselves, and have, as the atypically white and entitled gamer cries about, been making games and stories about themselves or particular groups.
The rebuttal "Go make your game, then!" (when faced with criticism of a game someone may have otherwise enjoyed beyond a few aspects) has never been a genuine call to action. Reactionaries have never really wanted the underrepresented to enter the industry or community with their stories.
If anything they're almost reassured that the expenses necessary to pursue game dev and writing for games are extremely high for underrepresented folk.
It's the same kind of energy AO3 stannies exude when someone criticizes the website's numerous issues and offers ideas for improvement. When they say, "Go make your own AO3", they don't really want that. They're reassured by the fact that coding and website building and upkeep (nowadays) are costly and the endeavor is unlikely to happen any time soon. If ever.
So when games like Control, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Banishers of New Eden, Alan Wake 2, Usual June, Fields of Misteria, and other stories featuring white women, Black/Brown actors and characters hit the market - they lose their shit.
No matter the developer - they can't ignore it and just play the games that cater to them. Alan Wake 2 choosing to focus on a Black woman character instead of just two white dudes, is a threat to the status quo they know serves them specifically. So we end up with websites created by men who need their foothold in white supremacy reaffirmed through the financial deficit of games like Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn.
So, in this context, if this makes gaming as a hobby an unattractive preoccupation, I can't say that I blame the person who holds that belief.
But again, that poll, like the DEI website itself, was not made in good faith.

old pics from last year under the cut for comparison.
I decided to approach the new ones differently: cooler angle, something in the forground to give it more depth, slightly different pose for him and just an area light with a cool blue instad of an orange light I've spawned in the old pics bc there is no orange light down there when you want to enter the Afterlife.
idk what happened — maybe it is the ray tracing — but for me it feels like I did pics in an entire different game. like those below are from an older Cyperpunk game, yet it is the same game (pics ar not made with update 2.0). I'm just so in love with how realisticly they can look in the first moment until you notice, oh it's all pixels and polygons.

Sorry to ask! I've been trying to find good resources to learn how to mod (both to create my own but also do mashups) and cannot seem to find any on my own that I can comprehend. So many rely on having basic knowledge of modding, and I'm at an assumed 0% of even where to begin. Do you have any resources you could share? ;w;
I long lost most of my guides but I'll make a walk-through for this here, with pictures.
HAIR MASHUPS:
Say you want to mash up a hair that's viera only with a hair that every other race has, like my longer styled for hire mod.
Find the hairs in Textools, and then EXPORT them as .fbx:
Next, open blender and import the hairs in from the dropdown file menu. It'll look like this. (NOTE THE FILES ON THE RIGHT SIDE! THESE ARE ALL VERY IMPORTANT!)
Now expand the files on the right side so they look like this. You'll be immediately joining the pieces together.
Select from the N_root of the hair you're stealing parts from, and drag up to the N_root you're making the base hair. HOLD SHIFT! Otherwise it'll be a bad boy.
and be sure to have ALL the things under that root node selected like I have it.
It'll drop the hair down to the ground like this. Click the orange box on the right hand menus and then, one piece at a time (don't select them all and try to do it, just won't work) rotate them to 90 degrees.
Next, join the bones together. They're those triangles.
SAVE! BEFORE! YOU DO THIS! Blender likes to crash randomly, but especially with "join" functions.
Select them either on the sandbox, or by holding CTRL and selecting the N_roots in the files.
Now you have one bone for all the hair pieces to work off of. You will have to reassign bones- i will show you later in the guide.
But now, we get to some very very important parts! Discussing node pieces.
First of all, before you do anything- look at their names. Au Ra Male is "1301", Viera male is "1701." I'll be renaming the Viera's pieces to match the Au ra's pieces in a minute, but don't start with that.
Instead, look to the numbers on the right. Those are the NODES. The numbers after the "." are just different parts, but the numbers BEFORE that are the actual different pieces!
0.X nodes will have different TEXTURES AND ATTRIBUTES than 1.X, 2.0 nodes. THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR TEXTOOLS! Pay attention to what pieces of hair are in "0.X" and so on.
But for the X.1, X.2, X.3? As long as they're all on the same node, you are free to join them.
IN A LOT OF OLD HAIRS THEY WILL HAVE A LOT OF PARTS! Feel free to join them if they're under the same main node!
Now, the Viera hair honestly can be one piece. It's got main hair and some fragments. So, I joined them together like how I would bones.
THEN!
I renamed them to match the naming structure (including this green thing in the dropdown) but put them on a whole new main node! (NOTE: see, it's 2.0 now instead of 0.0)
That's MOST of the technical bits out of the way.
Now we focus on modeling the hair. There's two tabs to model under. "Modeling" and "Sculpting."
Modeling is for deleting/moving individual pieces of polygons/deleting entire polygons.
This is the tool I mainly use: Poly Build. It allows me to click and drag polygons by their verticies and make new ones.
If you make new polygons, you have to triangulate your build when you're exporting your save to a new .fbx!
When you have "poly build" on, you can hold "Shift" and delete polygons or verticies.
(If you need to join verticies together, use the select tool and hold CTRL and click on the verticies you want to join one at a time, right click, and go to "merge at center" or "merge at first/last" depending on what you need)
Sculpting is for the entire shape of the hair you have highlighted.
Here are the tools I use in Sculpting:
The top one is "Grab", it grabs onto a vertex and pulls on it SHARPLY, so use it for very accurate things.
However, the other one that I have selected in that picture is "elastic deform." It grabs a VERY LARGE AREA and pulls on it gently, I use it for shifting things around by a large margin.
NOW! Let's say you did everything you want. You deleted, you moved things, you joined things.
Now, assign a bone. The part of the hair we moved from Viera doesn't have a bone anymore! So sad. So go back to "layout" and click the part of the hair the viera hair is on, and go to "Modifier properties"
Ignore the part at the top, just click on "object"'s box and select "n_root" and it'll have bones now.
You did it! Wow, look at that hair!
(results my vary)
Now you save it as a .blend once more, just to make sure it's there in case you fucked up somewhere.
Once you've done that, you're going to save it as an .FBX again.
Name it what you want, untick "add leaf bones" and "apply modifiers", while also selecting "Triangulate faces" if you NEED to- if not, don't bother.
You now have the hair modeled out. This... was only half the journey. Now you need to harvest the Normal and Multi layers of the hair you joined in with your base model and make a new texture.
To navigate to the different texture maps, it's on the upper right.
Remember, Normal files are _n, and Multis are _s
NOTE: TEXTOOLS ONLY ALLOWS FOUR TEXTURES /APPLIED/ ON HAIR. You don't have to delete unused textures, but you can only use four of them max.
Since my hair uses Viera hair 14, I go to Viera hair 14 on textools (note, for midlander based hairs you'll probably have to go to the midlander hair menus for the textures. You will see why in a moment.)
Export these as .dds, extract them from the folder they go to (lower right again) and now go alllll the way up to hair 157 on MIDLANDER.
Even though this hair is being made for au ra, it's ALL based on midlanders! IT'S A CONSPIRACY--
Next you click "more options" on the lower left, and this will pull up. Click the dropdown for "backfaces" and click "show backfaces"
then click the button "use unique textures". After you do that, it should look like this in the menu, and click "save"
You now have a blank texture.
Press "import" and put the _n texture of the hair on the normal, then use the dropdown on the upper right and go to multi and import the _s there.
REMEMBER THE TEXTURE NAME, it'll probably be something like Acc_C or Hir_C!
Once you've done that, it's a matter of uploading the .fbx.
Go back to au ra hair 157, press "import" on the "models" tab, and click your .fbx. Then, don't have any of the boxes checked (unless you are a miqote, then it's UV1 to [1,-1]) and press "open editor."
This is the part where I told you to remember which Root Nodes applied to which pieces of hair.
The base hair is on 0.X and 1.0, so all we care about is editing rootnode 2.0 in this guide.
Go to Rootnode 2, click the dropdown, click custom, then type in the Hir_B or acc_c address you need, then hit import!
BEHOLD, ART
Now you load into game, check if it works. If it does, go to "mods>create mods>basic modpacks" and select the pieces you changed.
Ask or DM me if you need anything else :)
Extra tips: if you want to scale things, but are having difficulty because the scale point is way too low- go to layout, click on "object" and "set origin" to "geometry," then press "S" and scale easier.

Red vs Blue (Update 2.0: Modelling)
Modular modelling was utilised to efficiently model repeated structural elements or quickly build the bigger final appearance by combining different smaller model pieces. While also preventing a single model to have too much polygons and potentially slow down the rendering time.
By referring to the drawn sketch, several identical pieces were identified and modelled individually. I started modelling from the bottom towards the top.
Whenever there is any uncertainty or feeling that the structure does not make sense such as odd roof support, some specific research and searching for reference images to clear any doubts during the modelling progress. However, due to time constraint, it was modelled to appear accurate to the general audience but not truly authentic.
One of the challenging moments during this modelling process was to model the roof. This is because Chinese styled roof tiles are unique and its final appearance is quite different from most modern roofs. To achieve the desired look, lattice and array modifier were utilised. When designing the first roof tile, the polygon count was significantly reduced to avoid long render times, as the viewer would be far from the roof, making high detail roof tiles would be unnecessary.
The base structure was completed by assembling smaller modular pieces, with similar components instanced to optimize the rendering process later.

Lido Finance: A Comprehensive Guide to Liquid Staking and Decentralized Finance on Ethereum
Lido Finance Overview
Lido Finance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform focused on providing liquid staking services primarily for Ethereum 2.0 and other proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains. Traditional staking often requires users to lock up their tokens, which limits their liquidity. However, with Lido, users can stake their tokens while retaining liquidity through derivatives. For instance, if a user stakes ETH on Lido, they receive "stETH" in return, a liquid token that represents their staked Ether and its potential staking rewards. This derivative can be traded, lent, or used in other DeFi protocols, allowing users to remain flexible with their assets even while earning staking rewards.
Key Features of Lido Finance
Liquid Staking: By providing a staked token derivative (such as stETH for Ethereum), Lido enables users to enjoy liquidity while earning staking rewards, a feature that sets it apart from traditional staking protocols.
Multi-chain Staking Solutions: Lido initially focused on Ethereum but has since expanded to other PoS blockchains, including Solana, Polygon, and Polkadot. Each blockchain has its own liquid staking derivative, making Lido a versatile choice for users across different ecosystems.
Decentralized Governance: Lido is governed by LidoDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization that oversees decisions on protocol upgrades, fee structures, and validator selection. LidoDAO token holders can participate in governance, proposing and voting on changes within the protocol.
Partnerships with Validators: Lido collaborates with professional validators to secure the network and ensure optimal performance. By distributing staking responsibilities across multiple validators, Lido reduces the risk of centralization while maintaining a robust staking infrastructure.
Smart Contract Audits and Security: Given the significant assets held in Lido, security is a major focus. Lido’s smart contracts are rigorously audited by multiple independent firms to minimize the risk of vulnerabilities.
How Lido Finance Works
Staking Process: When users stake assets with Lido, they receive a derivative token, such as stETH for Ethereum. This derivative token mirrors the value of the staked assets, including any staking rewards accrued over time.
Yield Generation: Users holding Lido's liquid staking tokens (e.g., stETH) automatically earn staking rewards, as the token appreciates in value. These rewards are typically updated daily, reflecting the income generated from staking on the native blockchain.
Flexibility in DeFi: Lido’s liquid staking tokens can be used across various DeFi platforms. For example, users can lend stETH on platforms like Aave or use it as collateral to borrow other assets, adding versatility and potential yield in addition to the staking rewards.
Benefits of Using Lido Finance
Increased Liquidity: Users are not forced to lock up their assets, which allows for greater flexibility in using them within the broader DeFi ecosystem.
Passive Income: Staking with Lido enables users to passively earn staking rewards without the need for direct participation in the network’s operations or prolonged lock-up periods.
Lower Barriers to Entry: Unlike traditional staking, which may require a minimum amount of tokens, Lido allows users to stake any amount, democratizing access to staking rewards.
Risks and Considerations
Smart Contract Risks: While Lido’s contracts are audited, they still carry risks inherent to any smart contract system.
Centralization Concerns: Although Lido works with numerous validators, some users have expressed concerns over centralization risk, as Lido has become a major player in the staking sector, particularly on Ethereum.
Future of Lido Finance
Lido continues to expand its staking options and aims to support additional PoS blockchains, further solidifying its role in DeFi. With Ethereum’s transition to PoS and increased interest in liquid staking, Lido is likely to remain a key infrastructure provider, particularly as demand grows for accessible and flexible staking solutions in the DeFi space.

A Comprehensive Review of the Polygon Ecosystem and Polygon 2.0
Polygon is a Layer 2 scaling solution for the Ethereum blockchain, designed to address the challenges of scalability and high transaction fees. Launched in 2020 and rebranded from the Matic Network in 2021, Polygon provides a secure and scalable framework that allows developers to create decentralized applications (dApps) with high throughput and low costs. It utilizes Proof of Stake (PoS) and zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) Rollups to enhance transaction efficiency while maintaining security.
Polygon 2.0, introduced in 2023, marks a significant upgrade in the ecosystem. This iteration aims to build the "Value Layer of the Internet," offering unlimited scalability and liquidity across interconnected chains. Polygon 2.0 is designed to support an ecosystem of ZK-based Layer 2 chains, all linked by a new cross-chain coordination protocol, allowing seamless cross-chain communication without additional security concerns.
The upgrade consists of various Polygon Improvement Proposals (PIPs), outlining technical plans for the new network. Key proposals include:
PIP-17: The introduction of the POL token, which will replace MATIC as the native gas and staking token. POL will support staking, community ownership, and governance within the Polygon ecosystem.
PIP-18: This proposal details Phase 0 of the Polygon 2.0 upgrade, which includes the transition from MATIC to POL and enhancements to Ethereum contracts on the network.
PIP-19: A proposal to update the native token on Polygon PoS from MATIC to POL, ensuring backward compatibility while improving the ecosystem.
Polygon 2.0's vision is to democratize access to the global economy by creating a decentralized, scalable, and user-friendly network. Its emphasis on community participation and governance ensures that Polygon remains a leading platform for blockchain innovation.

How to trade STEPN GO cryptocurrency on coinmapai
In the summer of 2022, StepN became popular, and players earned income by buying sneakers and doing daily exercises, which became a major trend in the cryptocurrency and technology circles. Now, StepN has launched a new 2.0 version - STEPN GO, which is the third game developed by FSL. Although STEPN GO is still in the testing phase and the player base is still small, its improved income mechanism and design have attracted widespread attention
MAJOR UPGRADES TO STEPN GO
1. New Token GGT
STEPN GO introduces GGT (Go Game Token) to replace GST in StepN. GGT is deployed on the Polygon chain and has no quantity limit. Since its launch on September 5, the price of GGT has fluctuated greatly, but has risen steadily recently. As of September 12, the price has reached $10. GGT is mainly obtained by completing daily outdoor sports tasks, and the circulation is managed through token destruction and daily cap mechanisms to reduce inflation.
2. Shoe level and attributes
STEPN GO increases the upper limit of the shoe level from 20 to 60, and adds Charm and Karma. Charm helps players get more clothing fragments, and Karma affects PvP leaderboard performance. These attributes can be increased by consuming GGT or GMT.
3. Shoe rental function
The new version introduces the Haus system, which allows users to rent out their unused shoes, similar to a sharing economy platform. In this way, even if they don’t have time to exercise, shoe owners can still earn extra income, while also reducing the entry cost for new users.
4. Social interaction and anti-cheating
STEPN GO enhances social interaction features such as interactive maps and PvP leaderboards, and introduces the SMAC-7 anti-cheating system to ensure the fairness of the game.
New user threshold
In the early days, STEPN GO had strict control over invitation codes, and new users needed to obtain an activation code before they could start using it. Amin, as an old player, pointed out that the entry barrier for new users is high, which also helps maintain the life cycle and stability of the game. Currently, users can obtain invitation codes by giving away shoes, renting shoes, or participating in official events, but invitation codes are still scarce in the market, resulting in an imbalance between supply and demand in the market for rental shoes.
Summarize
STEPN GO has significant improvements in revenue mechanisms, shoe attributes and user interaction. Although the new version is still in beta, feedback from players on its profitability and payback cycle has been generally positive. With further development and updates of the game, STEPN GO is expected to become a more mature blockchain game platform.

MATIC Migration: POL + AggLayer = Prosperity
The largest mass media convince us that absolutely nothing interesting happened on September 4, 2024. Only here and there, on the last pages of famous publications, boring news flashed about some update in the Polygon network... How tedious, let's scroll through it! This is for nerds. It is much more interesting to get stuck in TikTok or tap Hamster Kombat.
However, there is nothing surprising: people are used to not noticing significant events that affect their own lives. The dinosaurs of the late Mesozoic also indifferently chewed grass or a smaller brother, watching the combustion of a giant asteroid entering the earth's atmosphere.
Nevertheless, the importance of this technological solution cannot be overestimated. So, on September 4, the MATIC token was converted into POL. The goal is grandiose: to create a cross-chain interoperability protocol called AggLayer that will bridge the gap between first-layer blockchains, like Solana and Ethereum.
The token migration is a major step in the implementation of the new Polygon 2.0 standard. It will provide virtually unlimited scalability and unite all the key blockchains into a single whole. Hopefully, we will soon be able to send tokens to any blockchain as easily as transferring money between different banks.

Polygon has recently upgraded its MATIC token to a new POL token, effective September 4. This change transforms POL into the network’s main currency for gas fees and staking, and introduces new opportunities for revenue generation beyond what MATIC offered. The upgrade, part of Polygon's broader Polygon 2.0 vision, aims to make POL a highly productive token with multiple revenue streams. While the migration from MATIC to POL is complete, holders don’t need to rush as staked MATIC will automatically convert. This update also supports Polygon’s AggLayer protocol, enhancing cross-chain interoperability and scalability.
