How Good Is Bread...Really? Tanya Hennessy x ModelsPrefer Palette REVIEW

If you’re Australian and have a Facebook account, then you’ve probably heard of Tanya Hennessy. Tanya has graced my feed multiple times with hilarious and relate-able skits and videos, and late last year this amazing female comic brought out a cosmetic line with ModelsPrefer.
The entire collection sold out in most stores within hours, which isn’t a surprise considering this is probably the single cutest and most unique palette I’ve ever seen. But how good is it really? ModelsPrefer are known for being a fairly hit and miss brand, does this palette live up to the hype? Today, I’ll share my thoughts.

Thoughts
In these reviews, I think I’ll start with the packaging.
The packaging is super cute, especially if you’re familiar with ModelsPrefer and their typical packaging, it’s not the greatest looking stuff out there. But this looks good. The palette is a cute peachy cardboard material and comes in a black sleeve with rose gold foiled text, very trendy and attention grabbing colours.
Opening up the palette we have Tanya’s signature on the lid and what I would have to say is some of the cutest design work ever created within makeup. The palette itself is black with rose gold foiled illustrations of carby foods like pasta and cupcakes and doughnuts. The actual eyeshadow pans are in the shape of BREAD! I have seen some interesting pan shapes before but never in the shape of toast... I love it! 
The pan sizes are quite large which is nice because it really allows me to dip my brush in and pick up heaps of product. Each shadow actually contains a far amount of product, which is good because this palette has quickly become my daily favourite and I don’t want to run out of it too quickly.

Let’s crop in on those shadows a second and talk about the colours.
From left to right, we have the shades:
“Proffessional Sitter” - Matte cream shade
“Buffet All Day” - Metallic gold
“Cardio Is Hardio” - Matte deep warm toned brown
“Unsupportive Bra” - Matte rose 
“Brown” - Matte light brown
“Cake For Dinner” - Pressed gold glitter
“Day Drinking” - Shimmer champagne
“Pantless” - Metallic rose gold
The colour range is very nice and wearable. I personally love the shades “Brown”, “Cardio Is Hardio” and “Day Drinking” for a natural soft glam for everyday wear. “Cake For Dinner” is an insane glitter and I love using it on days where I feel like being extra. 
The formula is actually fairly decent for what you pay. They’re by no means mind blowingly pigmented, some shades definitely perform better than others. “Cardio Is Hardio” pretty much blends right away and has almost no pigment to it, however with a good eye primer and patience, the colours can be builded up. 
I do think the colours really reflect the theme of bread pretty well, and is a nice choice. However the rest of the collection is very centred around bright colours and even the marketing images are bright coloured. I feel like I would have loved to see some bolder shades in the palette.
Final Verdict
This palette is actually fantastic for anyone who is looking for everyday wearable shades, but can elevate to a night time look if needed. I feel like ModelsPrefer have done really, really well at curating a fun yet effortless colour story that can suit almost everyone. The names are funny, the packaging is very personalised to Tanya herself and definitely reflect on who she is as a female comic. I feel like a lot of makeup brands should take a page from ModelsPrefer’s book in this regard. 
This was a limited edition palette but you can bet your bottom dollar that the next range Tanya Hennessy and ModelsPrefer bring out, will be in my collection straight away.
