A equipe paulista ocupa a 2ÂȘ colocação, atrĂĄs apenas do lĂder Botafogo.

Felix Vasquez, 60, a veteran leader of the Indigenous Lenca people, was shot dead at home in the Santiago de Puringla, a rural community in the department of La Paz, western Honduras on the night of 26 December [2020] â just weeks after reporting death threats linked to his work. [...] Vasquez had been involved in the defence of Indigenous land rights since the 1980s and was well-known nationally for organizing opposition to environmentally destructive megaprojects such as mines, hydroelectric dams, wind farms and logging, as well as for helping dispossessed communities recover ancestral land titles. [...] Vasquez had reported being followed and monitored at home, while two other Lenca leaders were jailed on trumped-up charges [...]. Vasquez had also recently announced his intention to stand as a candidate for the progressive Libre party in the March 2021 primaries.
His death comes almost five years since the assassination of the celebrated Lenca leader and Goldman prize winner Berta Caceres who was shot dead at home in March 2016 after suffering years of threats and harassment linked to her opposition to an internationally funded dam. [...]
But hopes for justice are low. âFelix was very smart and a great strategist whoâd opposed extractivism for more than 35 years, thatâs why he was killed,â said Roger Medina, a friend and lawyer who represents local Lenca communities. âWe live in a dictatorship, so Iâve no doubt that this will be another crime against another Indigenous environmentalist that will go unpunished.â
On Tuesday [29 December 2020], local media reported the killing of yet another defender, Adan Mejia from the Indigenous Tolupan people [...].
Honduras became one of the most dangerous countries in the world to defend natural resources and land rights after the 2009 coup ushered in an autocratic government [...].
Hundreds of defenders have been killed and disappeared, while many others have been silenced as a result of trumped-up criminal charges.
This year [2020] has been particularly grim.
In July, a group of Black Indigenous Garifuna land defenders were forcibly disappeared by armed assailants in pol!ce uniforms.
Eight water defenders from the Guapinol community have been held on remand throughout the pandemic despite international condemnation of the prosecution linked to their peaceful protests against a polluting iron oxide mine. [...]
In La Paz alone, at least 40 megaprojects have been sanctioned on Indigenous territory without consulting local communities.
Marlen Corea, 32, vice-president of a collective of Indigenous and campesino environmental groups in La Paz who worked alongside Vasquez, said: âEvery single community leader is threatened, without exception, as part of the intimidation campaign to silence us and stop our resistance to projects to exploit natural resources imposed on our territory without consultation. Today, I sent you messages but i unsent it because I feel like itâs too drama and I donât want you to get sad also. I just said na there are days when I want to give everything up and itâs true. Sometimes, I donât see the point of everything anymore and itâs so tiring to always wake up na walay gina look forward btaw. Now, I cry almost every day and Iâm so tired of this na doe like canât i just be happy?? :(( Iâm not used to feeling like this and although itâs been 6 months, idk itâs still really hard for me.
You know, times like these make me realize na I really only have myself. I know, I have you and I have friends and family but it makes me guilty and shy to burden you guys. When we were together pa I got so used to having you one call away, one chat away with even the slightest frustration, naa gyud ka pirme. Gamay lang nako nga sapot or sadness, naa gyud ka and you served as my comfort, but now I dont have you anymore. I know youâre still there but iâm no longer a priority anymore and i understand that. Promise, i try my best to accept na you cannot always be there for me. sometimes, when iâm sad and share to you, bsag sakit kaayo na dugay ka mureply or hours after na, i accept it gyd cos i know iâm not a priority and iâm still thankful na i get the chance to talk you. thatâs why i do my best to hold myself together gyd in times na i feel so alone. i always do my best to accept na you and i, dili nata same ug gaka feel. your love for me is not on the same level with my love for you anymore, and thatâs okay. i should try my best to not burden you na with my problems because youâre no longer in a relationship with me, you donât have to share my problems na. i feel so guilty sometimes na mag share cos i feel like iâm holding on to you and ikaw gusto na mag let go. iâm trying gyd to just deal with all of this myself but idk, youâre just very special to me and ikaw ra gyd ang person nga kaya nako ignan sa tanan nako gakabati. when it comes to you, i am able to open up my heart but i know i should not hold on to you so much because you have another life now, one without me.
You know I even get so shy to chat u first thatâs why sometimes mag hulat nalang gyd ko mag chat ka because if i chat first, i feel like iâm just being a burden and iâm just disturbing you. aish i sound like a sad gurl doeee idk why iâm being like this na
Sorry Eric for everything. Sorry for the burden. These past days have just been hard, iâve been crying every day and i feel so anxious doe for the coming months aishhh iâm sorry sometimes i just want to be out of your life na cos i want u to be happy doe and i feel like iâm holding u back but i also canât imagine my life without u in it doeee :( but if u want to go and leave, i will accept it doe u know dat. if it makes you happier, i will do anything jd.
update: ate pol asked me why daw uban ko medina issa naka cry ko uy hahahha i feel so lonely gyd here in cdo doe pirme rako cry and maoy here issa wala ko ka storya this place making me feel so alone aish iâm so emotional these days maybe cos dug-on nako next week đ€Šđ»ââïž

Book Collection
I had to dust down my bookshelf and it was a good opportunity to take some photos of my books! This is most of my collection, though some are up on my really high shelf and so were not included ^^; If I clean that Iâll just add a follow-up. (also long post and really bad photos Iâm so sorry)
So first of all are my two most favorite series ever, the whole Septimus Heap series + the Pathfinder trilogy by Angie Sage, and the Mistmantle Chronicles by M.I. McAllister (Iâm missing the last book though....). I love them too much that even after being taught to disembowel literature for my Creative Writing course, you canât ask me for an objective critique. I suppose some people will disagree and say that you should look at your favorite things even more critically, but I just canât. Iâm not good at critiquing anyway.
Here are three of my favorite short novels. I lean towards fantasy most of the time, but these three were very well written fiction (Because of Winn-Dixie is realistic fiction, and both A Single Shard and Island of the Blue Dolphins are historical fiction, I think?) A Single Shard is really good, I want to look at Linda Sue Parkâs other works.
After settling on comics as my thesis I ended up adding much more visual lit and art books to my collection. I rarely buy novels now, unless a really intriguing one catches my eye at a booksale.
So hereâs my manga collection! With an obvious bias towards Akira Himekawaâs LoZ mangas (ironically I still havenât bought the OoT one, which is the first of the Zelda mangas I think?) I wish I could buy the other volumes of Silver Spoon, itâs a really good read. The KH manga I was luck enough to catch at a booksale for only PhP 65, which is hardly above $1! The Zelda mangas I bought at Fully Booked (same goes for my art books) I wish there was a Fully Booked closer to me, the only other bookstores are National Book Sale (which are 70% school supplies and 30% books and usually donât carry comics) and booksales.
Now for Filipino Komiks! The reason I got really interested in comics as an area of study is Rob Chamâs silent graphic novel, Light. Before that, me and my family have been reading whatever volumes of Pugad Baboy we could get, so the really ratty looking ones are the ones weâve managed to keep up to the present time (I also have the giant copy of Pugad Baboy X but didnât get to include it here). Thankfully, National Book Store stocks Light and Lost, but that is for usually for bigger malls (they used to have Pugad Baboy, but now I rarely see it there, but my copies of Kikomachine Komix are from there too). Dead Balagtasâs Tomo 1 (which is really gorgeous!) I was able to get at a comic event my college organization held at the university. However, Ella Arcangel, Elmer, 12 and 14 were bought at Komikon, which I was lucky enough to attend in 2018. Sadly, Komikon is probably the only best opportunity to buy most Filipino comic stuff, and I live too far from Manila to go every time. I wish I can go again. I was able to meet sir Pol Medina Jr. and sir Gerry Alanguilan at Komikon, I even got my copy of Elmer sighed. Rest in peace, sir Alanguilan :<
Maybe Iâll make another post detailing more Filipino komiks stuff? I really have a lot of feelings on this subject haha.
Now for miscellaneous English comics. I included Arzach though that book is a novelization of certain stories (it does have some illustrations though!) Hopefully I can buy an actual compilation of Arzach comics sometimes, itâs something Iâm really interested in. That aside, most of these books were from the Big Bad Wolf Booksale (look, book sales are just my weakness, ok). I really enjoyed these two volumes of Flight and I hope to buy the others sometime. Vogelein I got from...surprise, a book sale! And I really love that one too. Whatâs not to like with fairies, even clockwork ones.
Now for the jewel of the collection...
The big and beautiful art books which I may or may not have deprived myself of a few lunches to be able to save up enough (also convenience store food dinners wooh! But please donât copy me, eat healthily when youâre in college!!! >:0)
I also have the Zelda Goddess Books and the BotW art book, which I I think I showed before in a Zelda collection post? But aside from that, here are the Art of Ghibli books which I thank Fully Booked for stocking. Howlâs Moving Castle was my first purchase because Howl, but man do I love the Nausicaa ad Ponyo art. I was also super, super lucky to get the art book for Kubo and the Two Strings at the Manila International Book Fair! That and a Japanese-only copy of Haikara Walker made my arm ache but I was so stoked to get them. (aand I forgot to include my Splatoon art book and Haikara Walker here. Oops.) I also have sky longing for memories/The Art of Makoto Shinkai up on the top.
I think thatâs about it, but I very ready to discuss any of the books above if my rambling didnât bore you ^^;
