#Pokemon vs lions

This always bugs me, when you compare Pokemon to out of universe things there is something that I always get annoyed with.

Every Pokemon isn’t one thing, in my eyes Pokemon have 5 distinct ways of evaluating there strength/abilities

In game mechanics - this is what move it can learn and its stats

In game lore - this is stuff revealed in plot and through Pokédex entries (you could split the plot and entries into two different categories)

The card game - that shit is wild

The show - that shit is wild

The manga - oh boy is that shit wild

So when you ask me can 1 of every Pokemon defeat 1 billion lions it depends. Through raw mechanics, it’s hard to say because we have no real life comparison but the answer is probably no. If it was lore, then 1 billion lions don’t even stand a chance.

The earth is a billion times bigger than the smallest country in area. That's how big of a number it is.

I get it. Pokemon strong. One arceus easily takes on 100.000 lions.

But suppose we had an unlimited supply of lions.

Arceus will run out of energy eventually. So will all other Pokémon.

At that point, we only used a finite number of lions.

All I'm saying is that number may be well under a billion.

I'm so sorry, but Pokemon World Champion Wolf has already spread the word of why the Pokemon would win. It's not even a competition I'm afraid. The lions stand no chance. You must accept this.

I am using the ultra beast entries because listen, they are basically just an invasive species of pokemon, from another dimension. I am doing this due to the lions vs pokemon debate ignoring the ultra beasts. Like they only focus on the fire snail and the legendaries.

okay that's a kinda hard one tbh. uhhhh. i feel like it'd be kinda close? there's a lot of really powerful pokemon, even ignoring legendaries there's like, gardevoir making black holes and crap. but yo-kai are also all really strong and they could probably, like, cause in-fighting. plus i think there's more if you count puni puni and shit. i feel like the pokemon would probably end up winning though? i don't think yo-kai watch has as many yo-kai on par with gods as pokemon does pokemon-

All i can say about the whole "a billion lions vs all the Pokémons" is that it’s all fun and games till we gonna have a moment like this when the lions face Pyroar:

Ok I saw the 1 Billion Lions vs 1 of every Pokemon debate on twitter again and wanna add something to it.

One thing I think we should do is separate it into 4 different categories since Pokemon is such a wide spread thing with so many different mediums and rule sets.

TCG logic vs Lions

Anime logic vs Lions

Videogame logic vs Lions

Lore logic vs Lions

TCG:

I actually know nothing about the TCG so you'll have to discuss that in the notes

Anime:

I haven't seen all of the Pokemon anime but its fair to say that this would probably be the most evenly matched. The Lions having an advantage in Numbers and the Pokemon in basically magic idk. In the Anime Pokemon are very similar to animals, though arguably more sentient and capable of communication with humans wich could be an argument for higher intelligence. At the end I think the Pokemon could win simply by the nature of basically being magical creatures.

Videogames:

Similar to Anime logic, but honestly considering Pokemons limited move poll and pp + only seeing attacks hit a max of 2-3 aponents at once, its fair to assume that videogame Pokemon could in fact, not beat 1 Billion Lions

Lore logic:

Yeah no debate here going by just lore you could probably make a team of 6 (to be fair legendarys and ultrabeasts) and wipe out the Lions without to much issues. Lore for some singular Pokemon is actually insane, a big amount of overgrown cats isn't gonna be able to do much I'm afraid.

Reshiram and Zekrom are powerful enough to destroy the world,

Solgaleo and Lunala can move Numerous light-years in a few seconds,

Necrozma can devour stars,

Palkia and Dialga control Space and time respectively and together they created the universe,

Giratina is more powerful than either palkia or dialga,

Arceus Created Palkia Dialga And Giratina all in an instant and is shown to be more powerful than all three combined.

Lions:

1,000,000,000 is a lot of lions.
