Why does Duchess think spritzee are stinky?

because they are! spritzee have evolved special glands called scent pouches that produce a fragrant oil, which they spread throughout their feathers. this scent overwhelms predators' sensitive noses and can even stun foes in battles! it used to be very fashionable for nobles to train spritzee and keep them on their shoulders just for their scent. there's some pretty cool antique kalosian guides to what to feed your spritzee for the best scent profile. in the early 1700s, cinnamon was one of the most popular things to add to a spritzee's diet.

paprika's current diet has him smelling a bit pepperminty, so duchess is a big fan.
