Hey there! I’m Auburn, a Pokémon breeder who specialises in canine-like Pokémon, especially Zoroark! I’m located in Armour Isle (or the isle of armour) in Galar, and I’m trying to raise the Zoroark population there, since when I arrived, there were only a small handful in an area cut off by water, when they used to roam all over the island. Their populations had dwindled due to invasive species which we’ve been working hard to rid, and irresponsible trainers catching them, solely because they think they’re ‘cool looking’.

My team right now consists of:

Growlie! A big ole arcanine with a kind heart and a fear of little children, who’s been in the family for generations.

Squeaks! A baby zorua born with dwarfism, who was too weak for me to release into the wild, but she’s living her best life as my companion.

Little one! A second baby zorua who was unfortunately drowned a Tentacruel that was too close to shore. By some miracle, however, the sound of his mother’s wails and cries brought him back, and he lives with me as a hisuian zorua. Aside from a fear of water that we’re slowly remedying, he’s doing great!

Darla! An Aron I caught incredibly recently, to help with protection when we’re wandering around the island. Growlie does a good job for the most part, but sometimes he just can’t handle it on his own.

So I actually recently got a new addition (it isn’t a wailord :< to my utter dismay) sooo…

Milk Tea! I don’t know much about her or what she is yet, but according to a couple people she is a Mewtwo. She’s a baby right now and can’t do much other than cling to my waist, she’s only about 7 days old at the time of typing this, and I got her as an egg from my mum’s lab partner. She’s a lil cutie though.

And, the final one is a little weird. Her name is North, she’s an adult Zoroark and is Little One and Squeaks’ mother, but she’s not..technically mine. I never caught her and she was one of the only Zoroark on the isle when I arrived. She doesn’t live in our house and doesn’t have a pokeball, but she’s almost always nearby, though she seems to be in charge of most of the other Zoroark and zorua here.

There’s another Zoroark who’s similar, named Wolf, but he’s much less sociable than North is.

Probably the nerdiest thing I’ve ever done 😅

Went to GenCon dressed as the NPC trainer Pokemon Breeder! Old school style! Wanted a Pokémon egg so I made one to match in game. Pic is after a long day at the con, wish I took better pics. But people got it, took some pics, and mainly people seemed to think it was cute and enjoyed it. Some even asked how many more steps I needed and asked what I was hoping for lol. It was a fun and cheap costume! I think the green shoes were the most expensive part just bc I had to order them. Can’t see it but I’m also wearing her brown pants! I saw one other npc trainer, the classic Hiker.

It was fun!

Who wouldn’t want a massive wife that you’re forced to live away from due to her living in deeper waters and you being a ground based Pokémon who gets violently sick on a boat

          "I don't think I've seen one like this before. She's hurt . . ." Mari winces, looking over the small flying-type on the ground. 'It's a wattrel. A strange-looking one, at that. They're seabirds most common in the Paldea region,' Saga describes. 'It must have been flying inland when last night's storm came in.' Carefully, Mari tries to scoop the injured bird up, only to receive a sharp, defensive bite from the shiny pokemon. "Ow! Ow, it's okay—you're okay! Easy!" Ignoring the pain, Mari manages to find a good grip, and lifts up the wattrel until it seems frozen in fear. "You're okay . . ."

          From their little camp spot, Nicole looks up as she heard Mari approaching. Both Pua and Hyla playing with their chew toys as she gently plays tug of war with them. The sound of Mari’s voice is followed by trills and shrills of discomfort as the little bird in her hands squirms uncomfortably.

          Jumping up from her spot, she jogs over to the fledgling trainer to look at the purple bird in her hands. “Is she okay?” There’s a great deal of worry on the breeder’s face as she stares for a moment before going off to grab potions and bandages.

          She didn’t know fully what was wrong with the little bird, but she’d try to find out so she and Mari knew best how to help her. “Le’s see wha’ we can do fer her. Some potions an’ maybe some food might help her out.”

i know that people treat the theoretical concept of pokémon being real as more of an aesthetic kind of thing (not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that) but it just seems almost uncreative to just do the same thing you'd normally do but there's a pokémon there when there's so many cool pokémon-specific careers across different canons… you don't want to spend your time figuring out the best way to raise and care for a pokémon? I don't get it.

         "I did!" How could she not? It was a sound she was all to familiar with. That sound of rattling, of little banging. The pokemon inside the egg Mari had been carrying for her was trying to seek their way out. Although the movements of the egg were a little lazy, in her opinion, clumsy even. Like they wanted out, but also weren't sweating it just yet. Just a test to see if they could do so yet. If nothing else, they would be meeting their new friend very soon.

          Carefully placing her Totodile on the ground, Nicole pats for Mari to sit next to her. As she did, she opened the incubator so the egg could have more freedom to move and wiggle as it needed. No need for the Pokemon to be born in a tight and confined space. Reaching in, she carefully picked up the egg and it was evident on her face just how bad of an idea that was.

It was so HOT. She's absolutely sure just touching that shell was burning her hands. It was a fire type, and it had to be kept in abnormally warm. Quickly putting it down, she tried to wave the burn off of her hand as she watched the egg start shaking even more now.

          There was a crack, a chip, and Nicole could see a tiny red hand poking out of it now. The little chirrups that followed as a leg soon followed as it tried rolling around and trying to poke out. Still with burnt hands, Nicole reached forward to help pick the egg open.

          As she did, it bit her. The only thing she could do was flex her hand to ignore the pain as much as possible as she carefully pried her hand form the newborn's mouth. And had to pull her hands back. Now with burns and a bite, they hurt! Looking to Mari with an apologetic smile, quite pained as well, she looks to the Pokemon still trying to get out.
