I think people are too focused on the "Gaia" thing in the speculation about the next Pokémon region. A few previous code names were also Greek. Now it's also been leaked that it's going to be set on an archipelago, so I personally think that the Caribbean, New Zealand or even Indonesia are more likely candidates. With "Gaia", I'm kinda thinking that there might be plans to lean more heavily into the environmentalist themes Pokémon usually has. I'd kinda say with that information the Galapagos islands would be a shoe-in given those two things, but those are already the inspiration for Lental from New Pokémon Snap. With "too much water" as a hint I'm going to lock in the Caribbean as my final answer, and not just because I personally think it would be a really cool region that I've had designs for myself.

Still creepy though. The description sounds like the shadow synergy stones and how it was making Mewtwo talk about Gaia and everything. Hopefully any shadow stones across the Pokémon regions stay underground.

Look, I love Pokémon Gaia to bits. It's my favourite fan game. It it so faithful to the official Pokémon games that it FEELS like an official Pokémon game, minus the anachronism of seeing Gen 4-6 Pokémon in a GBA game. But there's just… One… GIANT FLAW.

There's a market where you can purchase Eggs that can hatch into every single Gen 1-6 Starter Pokémon + approximately 20 other rare favourites like Riolu, Zorua, Vulpix, Axew, Togepi etc which sounds FANTASTIC for team building, right?

Except this wonderful amazing Egg Market is located in a City that you can only visit JUST BEFORE THE EIGHTH GYM where your team would be around Level 50 so if you want to use any of these newly hatched cool Pokémon on your team, you have to level it up 49+ levels.

Seems like a HUGE oversight to put it so late in the game?!?!

Especially because Pokémon like Houndour, Vulpix, Torkoal and all the Fire Starters are only obtainable as Eggs from this market which leads to a severe lack of Fire Type options to add to your team if you didn't pick Chimchar or Piplup as your Starter (because you get a free Charmeleon if you pick Piplup. If you pick Chimchar you get an Ivysaur) I think the only other Fire Types you can get before the Egg Market are Talonflame, Pyroar and Flareon.

Wanna know the worst thing about it?! THIS COULD EASILY BE SOLVED!

This is where the Egg Market is, in Edashore Town. Seems like a pretty late game town, right? It's on the other side of the map from the first Gym location, where my character is.

Except… THIS IS WHERE THE THIRD GOD DAMN GYM IS! THERE IS LITERALLY A SINGLE ROUTE CONNECTING WINDMIST CITY AND EDASHORE TOWN. THE ROUTE IS LITERALLY CALLED EDA-MIST HEIGHTS! NAMED AFTER HOW IT CONNECTS THESE TWO SETTLEMENTS!

But it's blocked off by an NPC!

The Third Gym is a WAAAAY more reasonable place to be able to access the Egg Vendor! Your team is in your mid-late Level 20s at this point! So leveling up a Level 1 Pokémon to Level 20s is much more convenient!

The other two Routes connected to Edashore Town are a bridge to the east and a cave to the south. If you want to put a roadblock in to stop players from accessing the late game routes, just say the bridge is broke and there is a cave in. Those are way better excuses to not be able to progress than "THIS NPC CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Edashore Town could have been a fun bonus town to visit while you're levelling up for the Third Gym but NOOOOO. Seriously, whoever made Pokémon Gaia needs to fix this.
