A small 'this is how you use tumblr' for the people that haven't been here very long. These are in no particular order, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask them!

Since I probably did not mention a lot of things, you are welcome to add to this post with your own advice.

a) Reblog posts. if you like it, reblog it. even if you have zero followers and ESPECIALLY if it's art or writing of any kind. We will see the reblog in our notifications and that alone brings joy. One reblog can start a chain and push the post onto many people's dashes.

b) Tumblr is not a very functional website, if you want to survive without losing your mind, there are two things you need: xkit rewritten and dashboard unfucker. Play around with the settings until it is to your liking. Additionally, change to firefox if you haven't already and install ublock origin to get rid of ads, tracking etc.

c) If you go to your settings (account! not blog) you can find this under dashboard at the bottom. Turn off at the very least 'best stuff first' since that will fuck up your dash and not give you posts in chronological order.

The rest are a perfonal preference but it will keep your dash tidy and easy to control if you turn them off, too.

d) Apropos settings—get a profile picture, a header, write something human in your bio, anything. Otherwise people will assume you are a bot and block you on sight.

e) Blocking! Do it generously and whenever you want, this is how you keep whatever remains of your sanity. It's not a lethal offense, it is (usually) not even seen as rude or anything along those lines. You block people and they block you and everyone is happy.

f) Under account settings you will find this:

Just like with blocking, use both options to your heart's content.

g) Tumblr is not like other social media platforms, spam liking & reblogging and going three years deep into someone's account is NORMAL and encouraged. You can search a blog by post type, tags, or even go to the archive and scroll through the posts there.

h) Lastly—interaction. We already went over reblogging (I mean it, REBLOG), but there are also replies and asks. If you add something to someone else's post please behave like a kind human being and don't be an asshole; based on my experience, that's easier said than done. On top of that, the tags are ALSO used for communication, go unhinged, ramble, leave your thoughts, or simply use them for organisational purposes. Everyone loves a good insane tag wall.

An open inbox (either anonymously or with your blog attached) is to be used! Please send people asks if they have them active, use it like DMs or a comment section, use it to recommend something, ask questions, participate in an ask or prompt game—we love asks here.

last tlou post for a little bit but. i don't really read the fic part of the fandom often anymore, but since interacting with any the last of us post puts like five of you guys on my dashboard inevitability i have one request. (mostly towards abby and ellie) (heavy on ellie, you guys show up the most)

PLEASE start making your y/ns have some diversity, add uniqueness to your fics, im tired of getting cookie cutters!! i don't want petite, fem, shy lamb characters in almost every fic. give me someone like dina or something. ellie has canonically dated cat and was in love with Riley, both of which are pretty tomboy style. give me a tomboy y/n.

go farther than tomboy, i want to see those girls fall head over heels for a butch. not flannel and jeans like you some of you think butches are, i want a REAL butch. physical labor and hypermasculine butch.

add some diversity to the trans genre, all it is transgirl ellie/abby. not too much of a complaint, i love it, but i just wanna see some diversity in that. give me enby or transmasc ellie. better yet make y/n the trans one for once. or both of them. t4t would be great to finally see.

001. hello fellow trainer! welcome to my blog where i write my beloved little ashy boy. i have enjoyed pokemon since the tender age of five & to this very day, yellow & gale of darkness being my personal favorite games! i have been rping for 15+ years and have yet to get out of this chair. my blog is strictly selective & private, so i will only interact with my mutuals. i will not be responding back to the following messages: want to rp? can we be mutuals? etc. i'm sure you are an amazing writer with wonderful muse(s) but this is my decision to follow, please do not take it personally if i don't follow back, as this is due to comfort & to keep a tidy dashboard. i will end up soft blocking when i deem it necessary: if i find your muse makes me feel uncomfortable all of a sudden, i never found our muses could connect, or if the dash is clogged as i do ghost a lot. i don't have high standards, but there are somethings i do take on direct level when it comes to rping. i won't be following hub blogs as well. if you have sides, i will look through them but they must be pinned in order for me to browse them.

002. i am crossover & original character friendly. however i must have some info of your oc & any verses they have before we can write together. i also need to know what series your muse(s) originate from for better understanding & writing perspective, as this makes my life a whole lot easier to know what we can do during interactions. i would love to partake in any kind of plotting, though i am a very lax role player & it isn't necessary. this goes without saying, but godmodding, metagaming & powerplay is forbidden. there can be some exceptions, but this does not allow you to have full control while we write.

003. please do not pressure me for replies, i work a 40+ hour job in a stressful environment. i also have add/adhd, so i get distracted very easily. i also forget a lot & feel swamped most times. i only write when i am motivated & have enough energy. with all that being said, my inbox & dms are always open for any new interactions. just be patient when & if i am sporadic with them.

004. i won't be writing any nsfw as my muse is plot locked at the age of 10 in canon. there may be dark scenes that may contain death however, as my muse does indeed die a few times during the series. this will be on the most rarest occasions, or may not be present at all. i don't tag triggers, but if need be i can & will. just give me a holler if anything needs to be tagged correctly.

005. length varies to what i can come up with & what my writing partners bring to the table. this doesn't mean you ever have to match up with mine. i enjoy making stories at times & this all ties down to reply speed. format is small text with html color coding. you can format our threads however you like, so long as it is readable. also, please trim your posts for my poor ocd brain.

006. this blog contains multishipping in different timelines and verses. good chemistry & enough interactions are required for any dynamic questions, but never be afraid to ask if you want something planned as i am open for romantic/familial/platonic ships. i don't practice exclusives minus hightouch's dawn but i do with mains.

007. no drama. no hate. no name drops. if i see anything of sort in the inbox or dms, it will be deleted upon arrival. role play is a hobby & for fun, let's keep it that way. so please, do not harass any of my writing partners. if you are wary of someone i interact with however, you may politely inform me. but i absolutely will not tolerate for personal disliking towards another. anonymous asks are forever closed simply for me to focus on threads & in my opinion, i had never found anons enjoyable to answer.

Hi! You don’t know me, I’m not a mutual and I’m new and essentially inactive so far on Tumblr aside from setting up my profile, so please prepare for an extremely random interaction. I’m clinging hard to the anonymous function here. I’m a somewhat new writer on ao3 in the Hannibal fandom. I’m mid 30s so maybe that’s part of it, but I know no one in the fandom world at all. Not in person or online. I just finally decided to try out writing after many years of reading and I’ve been loving it. Like you (based on your pinned post), I’ve historically mostly written academically and professionally, and flexing those muscles in this way is such a pleasure. I’ve read a lot of your stories on Ao3 and I loved them all. And you pop up a lot on the Hannibal dashboard on Tumblr and seem to be a pretty kind person, so I thought you might be someone I could ask this somewhat awkward question without judgment: how did you go about building your fannibal community (I’m just going off of tumblr comments in assuming that you have a fannibal fam)? Now that I’m writing, the urge to chat about random Hannibal thoughts or bounce ideas is overwhelming, and I get the impression most people have their fannibal crew as an outlet for that. Right now I’m just annoying the hell out of my completely disinterested partner who thinks I’m losing my mind lol. So I’m trying to figure out if there’s something I’m missing about how people connect in this world or if it’s just Tumblr and Ao3 and a stroke of luck? funny you should mention annoying the hell out of your partner because SAME lolol that's what drove me to start this account in the first place.

so. i'm going to attempt to give a coherent response here, please bear with me.

when i first started out, i pretty much mass followed anybody who had a hannibal-related account and then just started interacting with people. it was mostly just commenting on or reblogging other people's stuff, and i felt wayyyyyyyy out of my comfort zone because, historically, i've been a massive lurker.

then i decided i wanted to do my monthly hannigram fic rec posts because i was tracking that data anyway and i just wanted to do something with it other than just letting it all rot in the spreadsheet never to see the light of day again. and turns out, a lot of people like to ask for and give fic recs! so that was a cool way to find cool myoots.

and then i got the itch to write and started to post Reciprocal Alchemy and was utterly blown away by the response people had. off the top of my head, @incidentsofunknownorigins, @coffee-in-rain, and @serri-i were all very vocally supportive from the jump and i pretty much was like, "hi we're going to be friends, no you don't have a choice, no i'm not sorry" lolol

and then i just kept writing and more people kept engaging (i'm still geeking over the fact that so many people enjoy my writing and are kind enough to make sure i know they like it <3) and here we are?? i think it was helpful that i linked my tumblr at the end of every chapter or fic that i post so people who find me on ao3 can come say hi here as well.

oh and i posted an insane amount of content in a very short amount of time for a popular event (kinktober was almost the death of me lolol) and that resulted in a wide variety of people seeing and reading my stuff.

Hey guys, this is my first pinned post so please bear with me as I try to approach everything that feels relevant here. My name's Cody, and I'm currently a baby member of GH! Like my group status, I am also very early on in most Hoyo games, and as such don't have extensive knowledge of every character and region. There is a lot to take in and read, so I hope you'll show me some grace with that. I am more than happy to listen and learn, however, so please talk to me about your favs without worry! a cheat sheet for where I'm at in each game goes as follows: Honkai: Star Rail - Early Penacony (with hints of knowledge about Amphoreus) Genshin Impact - Late Inazuma Honkai 3rd Impact - I have never played this one, gang.

I don't have any triggers I wish to be tagged when threading with me, but I do ask that you preface any plotting we have with your own! I do my very best to check on my partners and remember triggers and important information, but I am famous for forgetting things. Should I mess up and fail to tag something of importance, please reach out to me and I will correct it as soon as possible. I'll do my absolute best to keep everyone's sensibilities in mind, but mistakes do happen.

I encourage reaching out to me at any time, whether it be a ping in the server or a dm on discord. I love plotting or even just listening about rants and headcanons about the characters you write. Everything you give me makes me a more informed writer, and more confident when we write together. Of course, I will often do my own research for things I'm not familiar with, but it always helps to hear from my partners. I likely will not check Tumblr IM's, but I will stay vigilant for those who are dashboard only.

When it comes to shipping, it's not something I'm actively pursuing for my portrayal of Gepard. I take ships at first come first serve, and only with muses who share great chemistry together. Of course, that chemistry should be built on a solid foundation of several interactions and the trust of two muns! While I'm not seeking it out, if our interactions do bloom into something, then I'd be happy to plot and discuss. I am fine with one-sided feelings and even flirting, however, one-sided feelings I would need some discussion on. Any romantic or suggestive contexts for asks will be automatically placed into an AU situation to preserve canon continuity.

I'm very excited to write and form exciting, new relationships for gepard with each and every one of you. With that in mind, I would like to say that while Gepard is not opposed to adventuring outside Honkai Territory, he likely won't unless pressed. I know this might limit some interactions with muses who likewise don't leave their respective homes, but that is just how Gepard is. With enough persistence, it is very possible you might get him to stray from home for a little while!

I am not really comfortable writing NSFW. This is just personal preference for myself. I've got nothing against the practice, though. If you want to reply to an ask and put some spice on it, just let me know in dm's first.

As far as formatting goes, I use small text with bold color text for any speech. I do this for my own enjoyment and because something about small text makes it easier for me to focus on. Should you have any difficulty reading my posts, please let me know! I will forgo any formatting that is making it a struggle for you when we write. Otherwise, I will default to my preferred way of formatting.

01. GENERAL INFO (for non-rp blogs). Besides being a roleplayer I am also a hobby gif maker, personal blogs are welcome! Basic Tumblr etiquette applies: Don’t steal, repost or edit my gifs. If you want to insert a single gif into one of your posts please use the gif search function. Make sure you don’t reblog my roleplay content which includes tag games, writing examples, headcanons, threads and answered asks. Speaking of asks: I will generally react in-character whenever possible but I am not an IC ask blog.

02. DISCLAIMER. I am not affiliated with the creators of The Boys or the actor Karl Urban and I don’t own the character Billy Butcher. I claim ownership of my own written headcanons and texts. All graphics/aesthetics, gifs and colorings on this blog are mine, up from 2024 until present. Older promos and edits have psds credited in their respective posts.

03. CONTENT WARNING. To interact with me, you have to be 18+ (mun and muse). The Boys is an R-rated series and this is a general trigger warning for mature content such as — strong language, graphic violence and gore, physical and mental abuse, mention of sa, mention of child abuse, alcohol addiction, mental illness, terminal illness, trauma, sexual content, weapons, drug use, political and social commentary, sick humour, satire and overall rude behaviour which can be expected from this muse. I will only tag some of these on a regular basis. I use "trigger cw" and my n.sfw tag is "usft". Please let me know if you need a specific thing tagged. I don't have a lot of triggers but I would ask you to tag spiders and horror jumpscares in gifs for me.

04. MUN ≠ MUSE. It should go without saying but at the same time cannot be stressed enough. This is a morally grey/villainous character. If you are easily offended we’re likely not matching well. Butcher can be tremendously rude and aggressive, he swears excessively and is quick to insult your muse if he dislikes them or feels provoked. Make sure that you can handle interacting with such a muse and do not take anything from him personal or too serious. But if we started writing and, for any reason, you feel discomfort please communicate it. I’m always willing to take a step back and sort things out.

05. INTERACTIONS. Best way to get started is through sending me prompts or having prompts/opens available on your blog, so I can interact with those! I have some starter- and interaction calls and I will post opens occasionally. I just got started with Tumblr rp in early 2025, so my blog is a bit empty and I'm still learning and figuring things out. Memes and prompts are always accepted, they never expire. Please try to link to the post you've send me something from, it makes my life easier, but I won't get mad if you don't. My inbox is open to everyone but starters and threads are for mutuals only. Don't continue an answered ask or reply to an open if we're not both following each other.

05 a. FOR FAKEVZ FOLKS: I am very reluctant to roleplay or talk in-character in dms, for different reasons (exceptions can be discussed on rare occasions). Please respect this as an important boundary. I'd rather use my dms for plotting purposes and checking in with my writing partners. However, I am open to short form writing on the dashboard which includes IC-Talk, if you're interested. I'm also willing to write on a sideblog but this option is heavily limited to not overwhelm myself. We should have interacted, plotted or known each other for a while. I do not rp outside of Tumblr (Discord, Wire, Docs, Forums, etc.)

06. WRITING. No godmodding, power play, meta gaming. I also don’t like forcing or rushing certain dynamics that don’t feel like natural character progression. Plotting beforehand is welcome but not mandatory. If it ever feels like being stuck we can pause the writing and have a small plotting session between scenes or even for the same scene. I am a big fan of the “yes, and” approach, give me something to work with. I don’t have an estimated length for texts, it always depends.

07. REGARDING AI. My blog is strictly and firmly against the usage of AI. I will never use AI for writing or to generate images. If I ever accidentially reblog something AI-generated please let me know, but be respectful while you do so. I do not wish to write with you if you use AI, don't ever feed my writing to an AI, I do not consent to this.

08. FORMATTING. I don’t do a lot of formatting. I prefer small font, my writing is usually continuous text with no line breaks for dialogue. Let me know if this is difficult to read for you and I will adjust, no questions asked. Please try to trim your posts if possible. Generally, feel free to format your text as you wish but here are some things I have issues with: Excessive spacing between words (triple space and higher), excessive bolding or italicizing to a point where it distracts me; all caps, text from font generators (captions and highlighted phrases are perfectly fine but I can’t read a whole text in those fonts).

09. SHIPPING. I’m multiship and multiverse, every ship takes place in its own verse if not communicated otherwise. I rely heavily on chemistry, don't force things. The occasional smut might happen but I’m more interested in exploring dynamics outside of romantic shipping, such as allies, enemies, enemies to friends, found family, etc. and I'd love to have a setting where I get a chance to write Butcher as an unhinged villain and diverge from the canon liberally.

10. FOLLOWING. I will likely follow you first if I stumble upon your blog through community tags or shared mutuals and if I like your muse(s), your writing, aesthetics or all of the above! You can be sure that I have read your pinned post and rules. I follow every blog out of genuine interest and curiousity, not to collect follow backs, but please understand that it’s impossible for me to reach out to everyone. Don’t get offended when I forget and also never feel obligated to become mutuals. If you softblocked me in the past and I refollow you it’s accidentially. Hardblock me if you don’t want that to happen, I won’t take it personal.

11. ACTIVITY. My blog is labeled low activity. I am here for rp, but I like to do lots of other things on Tumblr, too. There’s periods of time where I don’t have the energy to work on drafts or talk to anyone. Rest assured that you never did anything wrong when I disappear for a while. What I’m not willing to do is constantly giving activity updates on a schedule. I might make a post on current stats every once in a blue moon and if I go on hiatus for longer I will highly likely make a post about it.

12. DON’T BE A CUNT. I have zero tolerance for homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, sexism, zionism, hateful comments in general, out of character drama, gossiping, constant negativity, passive aggressiveness, vague posting, guilt tripping, gaslighting and other similar behaviour. Just be a decent person and we’re fine.

Going on a Riddler fanart break

I'm having a break from posting Riddler fanart to Tumblr. The backlog will still be posted on Cara and Instagram (both @ tbalderdash), and if the break is long enough for it to catch up I will post things made during the break on there before Tumblr. I will still be posting bird art here. I will still post fanart for other fandoms here if I make any (I am currently undecided about non-Riddler DC). The break will be for at least a month. I will probably come back when the OCD medication has kicked in for a bit. Thank you for all of the support on the last post. I don't want to take a break, but I have to for my mental health.

"Organised" ramble about reasoning (this is heavily influenced by neurodivergence/mental illness and I am not trying to sound like an entitled/ungrateful twat. I don't want to guilt trip anyone, please don't feel guilty):

The Timezone Curse: Tumblr has a reverse-chronological dashboard. I am British. I live earlier than the majority of the userbase. I have no idea what time to post things so they don't get buried. Recently I've tried to stop waiting for the exact right minute to post things, as it doesn't stop them from flopping.

Likes vs Reblogs, (and OCD?): I will preface this and say: a lot of this is my brain's fault. Since Likes don't do anything to spread things, my brain gets upset when things keep getting Liked without Reblogged. I know this is silly and irrational, but I can't help it and this is the main reason why my brain is suffering posting fanart. I hope medication will fix my feelings. Additionally, OCD brain keeps trying to find a reason: Am I dislikable? Is my art bad? Does it have no appeal? Is it aphobia? Did I do something cancellable without knowing and now everyone hates me? I (think I) know the answer is people just don't use this website that way, but my brain is never sure. This is why I don't have the problem on the other websites, every like helps the algorithm and actually means something in my brain

The combination of the Timezone Curse and lack of reblogs means my art often gets barely any reach (or reach my brain deems meaningful). I desperately want to feel like part of the Riddler fandom community. Unfortunately, due to Tumblr making me suffer (overwhelmed by compulsive need to scroll entire dash, repulsed aroace, and simple posts being able to make me ruminate unpleasantly for a long time) I find it very hard to follow new blogs or connect with people on this site. I love birds, but I need Riddler interaction. I can't look at much fandom on other sites, as they have barely any/no tag filtering, which means I will suffer if I look for him.

Why it's just fanart and not birds affected by this: I started off as a fanartist with no expectation to get big with birds, so I had a que sera sera attitude and I post them whenever they're ready, I didn't expect to get big. I am more fulfilled when it comes to the bird interest (more community interaction + every day can have different birds out there + people in my real life are interested in birds). Additionally, the bird art spreads a lot more (due to bird blogs reblogging). Bird art is my "job" art (it is where I plan to make money from) whereas Riddler is where my passion lies the most (I still love the birds but I have many other ways of interacting with them without needing art). This means I get more emotionally invested in the Riddler art than the bird art

Is art becoming a compulsion? This applies to the birds as well, but since they're "job art" it doesn't matter too much. I keep being worried about not posting enough Riddler art, and feelings of social media sometimes overshadow the joy of creating - I keep thinking about posting, rather than doing. I get too anxious to make art that is "unpostable" (eg: self-insert and him hugging), especially due to the fact I'm trying to get more professional. I feel like there's more I want to expand on this but it's been too long and I'm tired. This break might help me do more high-quality art instead of having to churn it out out of fear of everyone forgetting me.

With that, I have a small question for you: how do you successfully promote your fics on Tumblr and/or get people to read them? I've been getting more into writing fanfiction recently but I'm struggling to promote it / get ppl to read it and I was wondering if you have any advice!

okay, first off, let me say how legitimately touched i am to receive this ask. truly, it means so much that someone would say this to me about my writing! i'm really glad you enjoy reading my things 💗

now, as for promoting my fics on tumblr? if i'm being honest, i really don't know how my fics gained the popularity they did. i've been writing on tumblr for quite a bit, probably 4 or 5 years now, and i've only started to gain any sort of "popularity" this last year or so

i think if there was one single piece of advice i could give, it's this: make friends on tumblr. whatever fandom you're in, start following people in that fandom, and more importantly, INTERACT with them. comment on their posts, reblog things they create, and if they write, read their writing and leave comments! don't just follow the "popular" or "big" people in the fandom either, if someone is posting for your fandom give them a follow and start interacting!

i can't guarantee this will increase your readership. but i will say that participating in fandom, especially as a creator, is a million times more fun with online friends. and by making these online friends, you definitely increase your likelihood for more interaction of your own!

fandom is very cyclical in nature. when you start interacting with someone, it will make them want to interact with you in turn. this is how you make mutuals. and when you have mutuals, you have people you can count on a bit for interaction. and this interaction helps spread your work around! even if the only people who reblog something you wrote are your mutuals, that means your writing is ending up on who knows how many peoples' dashboards!

again, some of it is kinda just luck. the times that my works have gotten very popular is when i found a little niche that needed some writing - mainly a long, explicit fic for a ship tag that had neither long nor explicit fics whatsoever lol. if you have a niche you can fill, i say go for it! but that really depends on your scope of interest for the most part

the best thing you can do, i feel, is to create the fandom circle you want to see. post things fandom-related outside of your writing. interact with others in the fandom. these things will help to drum up a following based on your fandom posting, and therefore attract more potential readers

and last but not least, my final bit of advice is this: don't stop writing. i know how disheartening it is to not receive the feedback you crave on something you worked hard on. it really, truly, sucks. and it can feel hard to be motivated to keep going without that interaction. but if nothing else, keep trying. i've been posting fanfiction since i was about 11 years old. i'm now 20, and again, my stuff has only gotten "big" over the last couple of years (though what everyone considers "big" fandom-wise is quite subjective). someone out there someday is going to love your work, i promise 💗

Hi, I'm sorry you're having a hard time with people tagging your posts when you don't want them tagged with ship, I know most people will not look at the original tags if something is reblogged to their dashboard and just reblog and tag as they usually do, and people when they ship something will tag any interaction between the characters as ship. So like you said, probably a better idea to put in your original post. I think just adding "please don't tag as ship !" or "this art has platonic intention, so please don't tag as ship !" would actually be perfectly fine, maybe a smiley but i don't think it comes across as rude or mean either way, it's completely reasonable.

Personally I don't think lots of people would mind that sort of boundary, and the people doing it now most likely have no idea you have it. Anyone who does mind such an easy boundary (you aren't even saying shippers cannot reblog! just to not tag!) and gets mad that you put it in the post then is not worth your time.

~ Personal Projects and Settings ~

Acts, Promises, and Faith (commonly abbreviated to "APF"): My main ongoing original fiction project, with a clearly defined cast and setting and (almost!) a clearly defined overarching plot. Set on an artificially magic-infused planet known simply as Mimue, it follows a catgirl shapeshifter as she struggles to deal with love, loss, the baby(?) eldritch spider that crashed through her roof last night, and the most powerful person to ever exist taking a personal interest in her journey to bring that spider home. The main story is not currently published, and will likely not be for years, but I do hope to make it into a webcomic someday. Or a book. Or a game. Or just... something.

Outside of the main protagonist quartet, the setting as a whole has an abundance of side characters (and not so side characters), most of which feature in some shape or form in the official stories I have published on Ao3! These side stories also contain major insights into the lore and overall status of the world at large, and I always have ideas in the back of my mind for how I can make more stuff like this in the future. Just make sure to read the content warnings on all published works, and know that none of those were published in anything close to chronological order 👉😎👉

It is also important to note that you should treat all of those aforementioned stories as you would expanded universe material for an already-existing show or franchise- with the incredibly notable exception of one reoccurring character in particular, a majority of the cast given focus in the Ao3 fics do not star or otherwise provide a major role in the plot as it's written right now. I'm essentially constructing this universe backwards by first introducing everyone to Glup Shitto instead of Luke Skywalker. But that's okay, because now you can have both as your blorbos in the end! Everyone wins!

I am always accepting asks and inquiries about this world, because I love it to death and I love my blorbos to death and Rigel is my favorite character I've ever made ever.

Overall genre: Urban... ish fantasy character drama, leaning slightly towards low fantasy in general. The technology level in most of the world is equivalent to America in the early 60s, and magic originates from an outside force/gift in this setting, but is also pretty much seamlessly integrated into society by the modern day. While the story and themes are closer to darker melodrama than light-hearted action adventure, the world is distinctly not grimdark and the plot is mainly motivated by and through character actions and beliefs throughout the narrative.

Notable Content Warnings: Depression, allusions to suicide, drowning, burning alive, occasional gore, PTSD and C-PTSD, unreality and hallucinations from the prospective of the primary protagonist, body horror

Main Tag: #apf for general content, #apf info for more specific information about the world (these posts are not up-to-date most of the time, upfront worldbuilding questions are always preferred!)

Where to read it?: The APF anthology collection on Ao3 currently contains every published story I've ever written in ideal reading order! You definitely don't have to follow it in the slightest, it's just a suggestion due to how many fics there actually are. This setting also has its very own discord server, but for security reasons if anyone wants to enter it they'll have to DM me personally. Go on, give it a shot, I certainly won't mind!

"Above": A work-in-progress name for a mostly sandbox (no clearly defined plot) setting about various gods, angels, and demons getting up to mischief across time and space. Dramatically darker in setting and tone than APF, and far less grounded to boot.

The world of "Above" is currently split between two eras- the "past" era, where a newly-born Seraph named Reguel tries their best to follow the wishes of their god, and the "present" era, where the King of Demons campaigns to end a millennium of torment from his cruel patron deity. At its core, it's a science fantasy setting that ends up focusing 99% of its attention on the duo of god-created fantasy races and very little on the already scarce sci-fi elements. Outside of lore about the gods and their creations, the rest of the world is merely a backdrop to demon and angel tomfoolery. To this effect, the actual "main cast" features funny jesters, friendly demon kings that use emoticons every five sentences, murderous malewives intensely in love with their giant goth girlfriends, and one (1) very sexy butler. Truly, some treats for everyone to enjoy.

Also, demons in this setting are floating mood ring space cannibals. That's really just something you have to experience for yourself to understand.

While there is an ongoing askblog based on this world, the events of that blog are not strictly canonical and will probably never be declared as such for spoiler-related reasons I cannot get into... but I'm also not saying the blog isn't canon. Just like APF, I'm always happy to receive and answer asks about this setting, so feel free to send any when you feel like it!

Overall Genre: The past era is a fantastical tragedy, while the present era is largely a nobledark adventure story. The world of the past is seen only through the eyes of an unreliable narrator, while the present is told through many different perspectives across many different species and locations.

Notable Content Warnings: Everything in the book. Psychosis, self harm, cannibalism, gore, dissociation, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, C-PTSD, parental abuse, parental neglect, abusive relationships... this is a dead dove setting, through and through, and it does not pull its punches. Particularly in the past era, but the whole world in general is a dove actively dying inside a paper bag.

Where to read it?: As this is largely a sandbox freeform setting, there's far fewer defined ways to access information about the setting and lore. The most notable proper story is God Have Mercy on Them, God Have Mercy on Me, a work-in-progress epic set in the past era that describes Reguel's early life and the choices that led them to where (and who) they are today. It has an absurdly slow update schedule because I write in my free time and it's insanely long, but many of its twists and turns are truly something else. One day I will finish it, and on that day it will be my magnum fucking opus. Probably. Maybe. Who knows, really.

The other option is @xx-hail2theking-xx, a currently ongoing roleplay blog centered around King Paimak and his merry band of cannibals. Unlike all other blogs I've managed in the past, it has a clearly defined act structure and is planned to end after a certain point, but that point is still far off. You don't necessarily need to read through the entire blog to jump into the plot at this point in time, but it certainly wouldn't hurt!

Also I've worked on it for like a year and made a bunch of art and writing just for it and it's kind of just my homemade self-imposed summer art project now. In a wacky demon sort of way.

The simplest way to explain the overarching plot- the very loose, very improv-based plot- of both blogs I run is essentially that there are two concurrent stories running back-to-back. In one, a recovering drug addict struggles with terrifying concepts like "having morals" and "caring about people", while in other the self-proclaimed King of Darkness and Everything Evil has to contest with a madman that wants to wipe out all of reality and build it anew and has already done so once before.

Oh, and the recoverer is the brother of the King's spouse. There's a truckload of complicated roleplay lore associated with each and every character from this setting, and it's almost impossible for me to single-handedly cover it all- especially considering I don't own half of the major cast.

Nothing is currently being done with them right now, but rest assured at any given moment I am rotating Caeru in my mind like a rotisserie chicken.

Overall Genre: Darkly comedic character introspection drama, and grimdark action adventure with a heavy focus on worldbuilding and characters.

Notable Content Warnings: Addiction, drug abuse, excessive violence, PTSD, C-PTSD, self harm, suicidal tendencies and thoughts... okay, maybe this one is kind of a dying dove too.

Main Tag: #rp stuff dwbi for primarily general RP content, while #hag for Hood and Greylu's verse in particular (the King of Darkness' verse)

Where to read it?: @official-saltbag and @darkness-regins respectively, however the quality of my old (and I do mean old) writing found on these blogs is inconsistent and contains many plot points and characterization choices I'm not sure hold up well today. While I hold no lingering resentment or specific apprehension about the blogs in general, I would much rather someone read my current work if they are genuinely interested in my writing style... and also they both completely lack a chrono tag, so good luck properly reading through them without a saintly amount of patience.

Mistakes, Curses, and Mockeries: APF's semi-sequel, but only in the sense that Deltarune is technically a sequel to Undertale. Set in the same world and continuity as APF, but decades into the future- with a completely separate cast and story structure to boot.

One year after the death of his family at the hands of a mysterious robotic "red devil", a young noble named Equuleus comes to the horrifying realization that he's stuck in a year-spanning timeloop. And in every loop, no matter what, widespread disaster and chaos runs rampant by year's end. Potentially at the very same hands that led his family to ruin.

And thus Leus makes a vow; Force a future where everybody lives, or die trying.

...naturally, it turns out "die trying" can be taken very literally in this exact scenario. Things only spiral from there.

Overall Genre: Fantasy mystery adventures, with a touch of character drama and time shenanigans for spice. Steampunk-magitek-medieval-fantasy mixing pot of a setting with the occasional downright cyperpunk jumpscare. Keeps threatening to become a psychological horror and I keep having to bat it with a stick so it chills the heck out already. (It is doing the exact opposite of chilling the heck out.)

Notable Content Warnings: Major character death, dehumanization, dissociation, existential terror about forgetting everything that you are, insufferable nihilists, potentially even more insufferable fatalists, colonialism

Where to read it?: well first you get a shovel and second you start applying it directly to my skull to get the brain out for advanced noclip telepathy strats... is what I'd usually say, but there's actually a singular fic set in this setting now! I know, I'm shocked too.

HI!!!! i remember you too, i always get really excited when artists i like come here. tumblr is the only website i really use for myself and not just to post art, so it means i get to follow them and interact with their art 🥺 i ditched deviantart for everything that isn't posting art and bitching about the website via status updates lmfao, the new inbox and watched deviants tabs are so... out of the way and counter intuitive. hate it there.

anyway, I've written a general tumblr how-to post because there's been so many exoduses (exodi??) from other platforms over the last few years, but I don't think I've ever written one for artists? or at least I can't find it if I did. so here are some hot tips 😎👉👉

NUMBER ONE BIGGEST RULE: if you're an artist and you want to actively gain a following and curate your art, please have a separate art blog where you post exclusively or near exclusively art. it's ok to reblog a post here or there, but tumblr is a website About curating and having specific blogs! it's not that people don't want to see or hear about the artist behind the work, but they don't want 43289 unrelated memes and posts for fandoms they're not in 😅 admittedly i have skipped following some good artists here because their reblogs completely drown out their art and clog my dashboard. people really like curated blogs, almost every artist has a separate art blog 'round these parts. (it's completely fine to post WIPs and text posts discussing your art too, some people would like to see your process!)

speaking of curating: tags are your best friend! tumblr tracks the first 20 tags I believe, so use the first 20 tags to add your important search terms. this is where you put anything you'd want to turn up in the search. really you probably wont have more than 10 of these tags. after that you are welcome to ramble in the tags or use organizational tags for your specific blog.

not sure how to tag? search up what terms you'd use to try to find your own post if you were someone else, and see what tags popular posts in that tag used. you should ALWAYS use the #art and #artists on tumblr tags, as well as any relevant common trigger/content warning tags :D here's how i do it:

FOR FANDOM POSTS: where applicable, I tag Fandom, Fandom Acronym, Featured Characters, Featured Ships, and sometimes #[fandom] fanart and/or #[fandom acronym] fanart. FOR ORIGINAL POSTS: you can tag your art medium (digital art, traditional art, sculpting, etc), the general aesthetic or themes, time periods, and if it features your OCs you can use #oc and their names so if people want to see all your OC content they can find it. admittedly i mostly post fanart so i am very spontaneous with the tags i use on my original art posts lol

4. shorter captions seem to be preferred by the masses, I personally either dump my extra comments in the tags of the original post or I'll put them under a cut. unless it's extremely relevant to the post, like explaining ideas or headcanons

5. have all your handy links in your bio! you can use basic HTML coding to insert links with text and put in line breaks. you should have links to other socials (or something like a carrd that links them for you) and your support streams, like shops and tip jars and patreons. and ofc a little about you and what people can expect to see you draw!

6. have your inbox open! you don't have to take requests, but sometimes someone will throw a brilliant idea at you that you may Coincidentally be inclined to draw. it's also just fun to interact with people who like what you do! sweet comments go a long way

7. last one i can think of - do a seIf-reblog at some point in the day. people live in different timezones and not everybody finishes their dashboard. personally I schedule posts for 12 pm cst and then one seIf-reblog at 8 pm cst. it's also okay to reblog your older artworks for new followers to see, especially if you haven't posted in a while. TV airs re-runs and so can you B)
