Annabeth being Jason’s sister in all but blood...yes!
Platonic Jacabeth because damnit Annabeth is a big sis and Jason deserves to be held and have more family.
Jason just one day  can’t keep it together, he’s tired from the quest and he just wants to go back home.
But what is his home?  Would they even welcome him back? Does Reyna hate him? Do they all hate him? All of that on his mind.
And he snaps at Annabeth in anger one morning, just growls at her.
All for 5 seconds before this look of horror comes onto his face, that he doesn’t even hear the glass he’s holding shatter.
Because he growled...because the son of Jupiter shouldn’t growl. He doesn’t growl...that’s what monsters do and he is human, he is his fathers son and he can’t... And he’s panicking and he doesn’t know what to do...
And than Annabeth is holding him.
She’s holding him in her arms and gently rubbing his back. He doesn’t remember crying but he is. “It’s okay” she says, she sounds confused and he doesn’t blame her. “I’m sorry I didn’t...I didn’t mean...” The words get caught in his throat and tears blur his vision and on his glasses.
He’s just so tired.
Annabeth frowns, looking at the others over his head and silently directing them out of the room with her eyes. Everyone hesitates, but leave without a sound.
Her arms are wrapped around Jason, a protective and comforting hug and it seems silly but Jason feels like he’s being shielded from the world just by being in her embrace.
It was like when Thalia...and than Lupa used to snuggle him on stormy nights when he was scared.
Part of him feels pathetic but he doesn’t want to let go of her, but she seems to know that because she just holds him closer and he rests her head on her shoulder as she ruffles his hair.
“You okay?”
Jason shakes his head despite every part of him wanting to deny it, he looks down ashamed.
“Is there anything I can do?”
All she gets is Jason burying his head into her shoulder and clinging to her. Her heart breaks, he looks so lost and afraid. She gently takes his glasses off, lest they get damaged and put em on his head.
“Do you...do you think I’m a monster?”
And by the God’s does he sound so scared, of her? That she would turn him away? They knew about little of Jason’s past, that was fine he would share if and when he was ready.
But they had heard of the Wolf House from Percy’s short time there, for Jason who was raised there, she couldn’t even imagine it. Because Jason acted so different than you’d think one raised by wolves would act, that she almost thought he left unscathed.
But he hadn’t.
He just got better at hiding it, and the second he couldn’t he crumbled. Expecting nothing but hate and to be turned away. Her leg had probably fallen asleep and she knows the others haven’t quite left but are lingering in the corridor in concern. Jason Grace had wormed his way into their heart with his bright smiles and kindness.
She had kept an eye on him, first because of Percy, than because he was Thalia’s brother that she didn’t realise she treated him as if he was anyone of her younger brothers.
Her heart broke for him, she rested her head on his.
“Never”
Annabeth said it with such conviction that it took Jason aback in shock. “I’ve seen many monsters, fought them and been hurt by them. Those that walk in human skin and those with scales or fur and you, you aren’t a monster. You are family.”
It was a sentiment she knew all of them shared, and if Jason curled up in her arms and started to sob into her shoulder with just this feeling of relief and just letting himself let out what he needed to, she didn’t know but she held him either way.
Annabeth knew that she would never let him feel he was a monster...and having some words with Reyna when this was all over because if the camp, either of the camps had ever let him believe that...
They wouldn’t have Gaea to worry about.
