shrimp often arch their backs and use their hind legs to clean their swimmerets, which they normally use to swim! pregnant shrimp like the larger female in the back also carry their eggs in their abdomen and use their swimmerets to fan water through the eggs, thus oxygenating them. these two will not stop breeding, even though amano shrimp are not actually able to successfully reproduce in fresh water. I suppose it means they're happy and healthy in their environment!

i spent $20 on this aglaonema pictum tricolor today but in my defense it's been on my wish list for a year and i promised myself a plant as a reward for getting an iud. and look at it
#i think they should have discounted it because of the sad leaf and it's also way overwatered and i am afraid it will get root rot tbh#but they didn't have another one#these things are so cool i hope i dont kill it#he is in the bathroom windowsill because its the only one reese cant terrorize#i briefly googled it in the store and it looked like the online prices were fairly comparable and of course it's a gamble ordering plants#off the internet anyway#they also had some very cool pitcher plants but i think i would definitely kill those#i have to go get some dirt for repotting#me#plant diaries
