Fat Actor Googy Gress. (1 of 2)
Googy Gress has 80 credits according to IMDb. Some of these are voice credits.
PHOTOS
Googy Gress, circa 2000
His first film was The First Turn On!! in 1983, an independent film in which he was featured and was naked for a time. He was one of the main characters in this film.
- 11. His next film where his name is included in the Beginning Credits is the 1986 TV Movie Babes in Toyland with Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves. I am not sure if he was padded in the belly for this or not. Other films in this time period suggest he weighed less. Photo 7 looks like he caught Keanu checking out his butt. A lot of butt pictures after that. I don't think that was padded.
12. - 13. Promised Land in 1987 with Kiefer Sutherland and Meg Ryan was next.
14. - 15. Vibes in 1988 with Cyndi Lauper and Jeff Goldblum. His name was included on the poster for the movie in which I call 2nd tier. 1st tier is the Star or Stars. Their names are either over the title or in a larger font, often both. 2nd tier comes next, sometimes followed by a 3rd tier.
16. The next photo I have is from Apollo 13. He was also in Wayne's World 2 (tiny role) and The American President during this time.
17. In 1996 he appeared, for the first time in episodic TV, in an episode of Frasier (3;14) where former fiancee Diane Chambers visits him and presents a play she has written which is very familiar to Frasier. Googy plays Ned in the play, who is essentially Norm.
17. In 1997 he appeared in ER (4;1) where he projectile vomits on Dr. Noah Wyle.
18. Later in 1997, he appeared on The Practice (2;13), as a complainant asking if he has a case against his female dentist who he says felt him up as he was going under sedation.
19. In 1998 he was in Armageddon as a NASA Tech.
20, In 1999 he was in Blue Streak with Martin Lawrence as a Desk Sergeant who could be bribed with pizza. Googy was also a regular character on TV series G vs E (no photo) in this year. He appeared in all 22 episodes.
21. Later in 1999 he played The Overlooker, an alien, along with other fat actor Jay Leggett in Star Trek: Voyager, both were heavily made up and unrecognizable in rubber masks.
22. In 2000, he played a small part in Me, Myself and Irene with Jim Carrey.
23. - 26. My favorite photos of the group. In 2001, he appeared in an episode of Dharma & Greg (4;13) with fellow chub Jim O'Heir. I hope there was an afterparty when the show rapped. Or maybe it was private.
27. 28. Final photos, 2002, NYPD Blue (10;5) he plays a small role as Requisition Manager(?) for the precinct.

Which of the Lost Boys do you think is the most likely to…
Be mistaken for a celebrity?
Have visited the most states or even countries?
Have a collection of books that they may or may not have read entirely?
Speak a foreign language fluently?
Identify types of flowers?
Have the most body count?
Be a sadist?
Be the best at math?
Give someone the wrong directions (intentionally)?
Be an extra in a zombie movie?
Have read a Harlequin book?
Win at trivia?
Give the best hugs?
Fall from the tree?
Enjoy pineapple on their pizza?
Which of the Lost Boys do you think is the most likely to…
1. Be mistaken for a celebrity? Just imagining like modern AU and somebody comes up to David like “has anyone ever told you that you look like a young Kiefer Sutherland?” This works for canon timeline too but they’d probably be like “hey you look like the bully from Stand By Me.” (if I’m not making a joke about their actor I think the answer might actually be Paul just because he really has that like hair metal look going on, I could totally see someone mistaking him for [insert blonde rockstar here])
2. Have visited the most states or even countries? Hmmm my personal backstory for Marko has him hitchhiking cross-country to California, so if I’m being true to that, he’s the answer.
3. Have a collection of books that they may or may not have read entirely? The fandom tells me Dwayne likes to read so I gotta pick him (he might not have read all of them but he’s at least read the communist manifesto lmao). Bonus points to Marko who I’m certain has a collection of diy punk zines.
4. Speak a foreign language fluently? I think we got a couple options for this one. If you support Italian Marko he’s an obvious one. I think one of them is at least conversationally fluent in Spanish if they’ve been living in Santa Carla their whole lives, though, like maybe Dwayne.
5. Identify types of flowers? This feels like David to me, he would absolutely surprise you by knowing the names of the night-blooming flowers you pass on a late-night walk with him.
6. Have the most body count? I love that with these guys I honestly can’t tell if you mean body count or body count. Kills I think it’s whoever’s been a vampire the longest, so probably David. If we’re talking sex, I… still think it’s David, actually, but Paul’s giving him a run for his money.
7. Be a sadist? Once again I’m like, soooo, do we mean sexually or. homicidally. They’re all pretty brutal when they feed, though whether that gets their rocks off or if it’s just the bloodlust is anyone’s guess.
8. Be the best at math? David maybe. This is hard for me because they’re all so gay.
9. Give someone the wrong directions (intentionally)? Paul and Marko would absolutely do this to fuck with somebody and think it was so hilarious.
10. Be an extra in a zombie movie? Honestly I wanna say Marko, I feel like he would enjoy it.
11. Have read a Harlequin book? Oh it’s somebody’s guilty pleasure for sure. Maybe Marko?
12. Win at trivia? I feel like they’d all have their strong suits when it comes to trivia. They’d make a pretty good bar trivia team actually lmao if they could rein in their competitiveness and not start fights with the other teams.
13. Give the best hugs? I think I need to hug each of them to test this out and best answer this question. My initial reaction is Dwayne though, he just looks like he’d give good hugs.
14. Fall from the tree? Other than Michael you mean? I feel like Paul would.
15. Enjoy pineapple on their pizza? Oh I feel like this would be such a debate amongst the boys. Paul would love it, Marko would think it’s sacrilege, David and Dwayne would refuse to pick sides but I think secretly they like it.

Quote
Successful people can afford to engage in countersignaling—doing things that signal high status because they are associated with low status. It is a form of self-handicapping, signaling that one is so well off that they can afford to engage in activities and behaviors that people typically associated with low status. An example from Ogilvy Vice Chairman Rory Sutherland: If you’re a top executive, turning up to work on a bicycle is a high-status activity because it was a choice and not a necessity. But if you work at Pizza Hut, turning up on a bike means you can’t afford a car. Or consider arriving “fashionably late” to a social gathering. For most people, there is an opportunity cost of socialization for arriving late. Each additional minute past the start of the event is a minute you did not spend interacting with others—maintaining and enhancing social bonds, forming potential business partnerships, seeking profitable opportunities, and so on. Tardiness is a bad habit for most people. But for high-status, prominent individuals, the opportunity cost of being late is comparatively smaller. Their social connections are already assured, their reputations already established, their economic positions already secured. A final example of how countersignaling is differentially costly depending on social position: If you are an extremely successful author, you don’t have to self-promote your writing anymore. You can wait for others to share it and simply retweet or re-post their endorsements. Some don’t even do that. Some writers are so well known that, despite having millions of followers, they literally don’t promote anything they write on social media. That is some strong countersignaling. Countersignaling is a poor strategy for new writers (or podcasters, or musicians, or others in creative domains). People just starting out should look at those who are a little ahead of them. They’ll usually find that novice writers who are accruing some success regularly post their stuff online and ask others to share it. One form of countersignaling is excess humility. It increases status for those who are already high status, but humility decreases status for those who are not high-status. Summarizing her research, Leslie K. John, a professor at Harvard Business School, has written: “Humility is admirable. But if someone requests information or an answer that requires you to reveal positives about yourself, you should oblige. Research indicates that when someone details an accomplishment in response to a direct question, others don’t judge that person as any less agreeable…we found that if you’re given an opportunity to brag—for example, by being asked, ‘What are your greatest strengths?’ or ‘How did you finish that so quickly?’—forgoing it can raise suspicion. We found that not answering or being coy about such questions may cause people to think you’re neither trustworthy nor likable.” A bestselling author who never posts about their writing seems humble or above it all. An aspiring writer who never posts about their writing seems shy, or unconfident, or unserious. A lot of successful people talk about how their achievements are primarily due to luck (a humblebrag). Don’t listen to them. Even though they are right to some extent, you’re more likely to excel if you look at people slightly ahead of you. Besides, whether you are looking for moderate success (generally within anyone’s grasp) or extreme success (which requires a lot of luck), hard work is still a requirement.
Be Wary of Imitating High-Status People Who Can Afford to Countersignal

Evil Dead Rise
“Evil Dead Rise” banks entirely on Alyssa Sutherland’s performance and puts little into every other aspect of the movie.
Ellie is a single mother raising three kids on her own. Her sister, Beth, comes over to visit to tell her that she’s pregnant. During dinner, Beth accidentally brings up the sensitive topic of her husband, so the kids are asked to leave and get pizza. On their way back, the kids experience an earthquake. The earthquake causes an abandoned part of the apartment to reveal itself. The kids decide to explore and find a mysterious book.
The start of this movie was very promising. After thoroughly enjoying Fede Álvarez’s “Evil Dead” and seeing the high reviews for “Evil Dead Rise”, I was pretty excited. I love it when modern horror installments use contemporary ways to pay homage to the originals and there’s this great drone shot meant to emulate the Deadite POV shot from the originals. There’s also a surprising gore scene in the beginning that just threw me into the action and I couldn’t be more hyped. The opening title was also super creative, so I knew I was in good hands. Then, the movie comes to a grinding halt. We’re introduced to the main family and they just seemed like they hated each other. All of them seemed defined by one character trait, which made it hard for me to care about any of them. On top of that, the older brother’s dumb decision to explore an abandoned part of a decrepit apartment building that just witnessed an earthquake and was scheduled to be demolished next month annoyed the hell out of me. It’s such an idiotic move that only makes sense when you realize the script needs a way for this kid to find the book. Also, why was the book here anyways? 2013′s “Evil Dead” had clear rules for the audience to follow, but “Evil Dead Rise” seems content with not explaining anything. Then a huge chunk of the movie just revolves around the family slowly getting infected one by one. I’ll give credit where credit is due. Alyssa Sutherland is fantastic in this movie. She can definitely carry a horror movie on her back. There’s some decent gore throughout, but nowhere near the level of the previous entry. I think the filmmakers were trying to achieve a happy middle ground with the tone by having the comedy of the original trilogy and the brutality of the remake. For me, it missed more than it hit. The people in my theater seemed to enjoy it, so I guess it’s all subjective at the end of the day. Still, most of my theater was cackling at the trailer for “Strays”, so I don’t know how much I can trust them on what they think is funny. I think the ending of the movie missed the mark completely. This is a spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the movie already, but the Deadites become this human-flesh-spider amalgamation. This feels like the final boss of a video game, but doesn’t feel practical at all. They’re now slower, louder, less dexterous, and are a bigger target. I get that it looks creepy, but it just seems like a downgrade. After everything is done, the movie reminds you that the main chunk of the movie was technically a flashback. It reveals how the victims at the start of the movie were connected to the events that unfolded and it’s such a barebone connection that I don’t understand why they bothered with it in the first place. I definitely think this is probably the least inspired entry in this franchise. I know that most people are loving the movie so I’m in the minority here, but I thought it’d be worth detailing why I didn’t enjoy the movie like everyone else.

This week Everything was set, all who were going were ready and so we went to see Evil Dead Rise and boy were those Dead Evil lol
Now in all seriousness I personally am not a big fan of the Evil Dead franchise I have seen the original trilogy and have it on DVD. We went to see the 2013 remake, I read some of the comics and watched the first season of the TV show (I plan to watch the rest at some point) but anyway with all that its not really one of my favorite things. Its more of a "friends" thing like I know ppl who think its the greatest thing and I take part in it becasue they like it. I kinda see it like Zombie stuff I'm not a huge fan of Zombies and it takes alot for me to get interested in that but I'll watch Zombie stuff to make certain friends happy. So with that I wasn't really super interested in going to see this but I went anyway. and it was an alright movie I can say it was very wet and gooey and plenty of sticky bloody messes everywhere lol there was plenty of gore and and grossness but it was so over the top at times that it felt kinda silly in away
As for the story you kinda start at the end of the movie first like the opening sequence is kind of like an epilogue in the grand scheme of the entire story but after that it does a "the day before" type of thing so the entire movie takes place all in one night. It follows a Mother and her 3 kids as they are packing up and getting ready to move becasue the apartment building where they live s being torn down at the end of the month. During the night a storm is raining heavy as the Mother's Sister shows up for a visit. During this the Mother sends the kids out to get a Pizza and on their way back an earthquake happens which opens a hole in the parking garage to a hidden chamber where one of the kids goes in and finds a book "Bound in Human Flesh and penned in Blood" and of course does the stupid thing and takes it home along with some old vinyl records and then while home they are messing with it and open it and release the "Evil" turning their Mom into a Deadite and then she goes on to infect others turning them into one too and it is up to the the Aunt and the kids to stop it if they can..
Now I have to say The visuals and practical make-up and all that were all excellently done the production design on this was pretty amazing. The ripping of the girls scalp off around the first was kinda cool. and the weird monster things where all the Deadites merged into on creature was interesting also and that whole thing with the wood chipper was something.. lol and all the crazy stuff they had Alyssa Sutherland who plays the Mother Ellie do was pretty good but yeah It was all pretty crazy tho
Now I can say it wasn't really scary I didn't feel that it was I didn't jump at anything or feel scared at all it was all I just feel that it was all pretty wild and over the top. I did feel it was a little weird at times and like I said it was all very gooey and blood soaked I do feel that the acting was good and very intense and like I said Alyssa Sutherland who plays the Mother Ellie as soon as she get possessed she totally steals the show!! and everyone else did a great job too I think while filming this they probably had alot of laughs
but other then that it was an alright movie they did do some references to the original movies this one is suppose to have no ties to the originals but they do use some familiar lines and a chainsaw is involved lol but yeah like I said it was alright. If you like the Evil Dead series/franchise you might like this one.
