Carrot Up was made following Lazy Devs' Shump Pico-8 tutorial for beginners. It's a great tutorial, 100% would recommend! The architecture and code are from the tutorial, and I created the theme, art & audio and tweaked the design here and there to make the game more friendly for chill/casual gamers like myself :)

You can also play it straight from Pico 8 as I uploaded the cartridge to the BSS!

Suggestions for Farming Game Items/Themes/Decors

What's a physical feature, hairstyle, clothing style, or something else visual about your character in a video game that you always find lacking.

This can be things like birthmarks, natural hairstyles, unique hairstyles (my fiancé always wants long curly pony tails for guys for instance), a type of eyewear, etc etc.

I've been working on a game and I'm trying to include things people don't often get to have for their characters.

Color palettes and color ramps are also appreciated!

So I've been trying to make one game a month. I have really been enjoying making games in pico-8 before which I was developing a lot of game projects in love2d so the switch wasn't that difficult since they are both Lua. And Lua is an extremely simple language by comparison to many out there now. Pico-8 provides a very succinct and simple but wide range of primitive functions for making games.

So here is a screen cap of development what was intended to be November's game. Development will probably go into December, we will see if there is a separate December game or not.

February is around the corner which means I got to speed up with the Assets if I want any chance to actually finish this game during the time given since we are allowed to work on the assets and visuals.

Design and colors might not be final. I did a couple of tests on how I want it to look considering the simple I do it, the faster I will be able to work and animate the sprites.

Very likely keeping the 4th one, I'm also trying more forward-looking sprites instead of top 3/4 like I usually do.

Going to be tagging everything related to the game jam as "The girl the coyote and the rabbit" while I think of a better title for the game.
