Notes: It's the summer of 1993 and Nicole is trying to balance being Waverly's girlfriend, Wynonna's best friend, and how to keep Nathan from falling off the rails.

There’s long tables stretched out, lining the walls, and more in the middle. There’s big records with labels on them: ‘Rock’ and ‘Blues’ and ‘Country’ decorated with music notes. She tries to take it all in, the sound and the lights and the colors of the tape spines staring back up at her. 

“Pretty great, huh?” someone whispers in her ear.

Nicole doesn’t turn to look at Mattie. “It’s…”

“Like Christmas morning."

Notes: It's 1981 and Mattie's Music Forge is opening it's doors for the first time. Nicole and Wynonna are 10, Waverly is 8, and Curtis has all the best advice.

She hasn’t said the words out loud much, not after New Year’s Eve. She’s been holding onto it for a few weeks, laying in bed at night and staring at the same ceiling she’s been staring at for almost twenty-three years.

Notes: After the start of the New Year in 1994, Nicole is going to make some changes. And the first is moving out of her mom’s house. The second can only become a reality if the first thing happens.
