My mother walked with him (I def. need to take a picture from them together), so they did not trained much but they did super well.

We haven't heard anything Harry's written since 2021 so not much, though she is mentioned in As it Was. Harry’s House was written in the pandemic and released later. I think of it as:

casey murphy made a hell of a case for herself to be one of the three world cup keepers

alana cook to me just seems inconsistent. she has great moments but makes stupid mistakes and gets beat running back in defense. def room for improvement, I'm unsure about her making the world cup squad once tierna starts playing

crystal dunn is kicking ass and taking names per usual

ashley sanchez had a not so great tournament. she seemed so out of sync with the rest of the team.

horan is being run into the ground. props to her for being able to get through this tournament still standing, she had great moments and is a solid force in the midfield

andi has great presence in the midfield and I think she has a great chance of making the world cup

lynn and rodman both had good games , love watching them zoom across the field

pinoe has truly taken her role of coming off the bench in stride *cough* unlike carli lloyd *cough*

Dai sondaggi risulta che gli italiani non ritirano la loro fiducia al governo Meloni in nome dell'inchiesta Santanché. Perché dovrebbero dimettersi? Perché la Santanché ha mentito!?

Qualcuno ha forse chiesto le dimissioni di Draghi e Speranza quando mentendo - e sapendo di mentire - dissero agli italiani di vaccinarsi che non si sarebbero ammalati?

Panico in studio alle parole di Senaldi.

La conduttrice domanda retoricamente: "però sei vivo?!"

Arriva lapidaria la risposta. "Per miracolo!".

Senaldi aggiunge: "A me non cambia nulla se la Santanché ha fatto un falso in bilancio, che è tutto da dimostrare. Ma che ci abbiano fatto vaccinare con una menzogna...".

Done! 😁 - Well, I of course do not know how much fun the author had in assembling the book. But I doubt it was more than I had while reading.

As I do not read Italian I often feel cut off from a lot of valuable sources on Eugène's life. This book does help at least a little with that. I am particularly grateful because Cesare's memoirs seem to be the most important (only?) source for the incident when Eugène insulted his Italian troops, an incident that caused a major disgruntlement between him and general Pino and would have dire consequences, Pino of course being one of the major actors in the Milan riots of April 1814 that ended any attempt to install the viceroy as king of Italy and caused Eugène to leave the country forever.

Of course the book now leaves me with a ton of additional questions (which, for the record, is a good thing!). Mostly, as this seems to be my current pet peeve, I would love to know more about the author and the date and story of the book's publication. If I interprete Cesare's Wikipedia page correctly, these memoirs were first published in 1826/1827, which would connect them to the growing Italian nationalism, to the Carbonari movement and the first stages of the Risorgimento in upper Italy.

Which would explain why Cesare occasionally has dying Italian soldiers hold inspirational speeches about their home country before they draw their last.

On the other hand, it's curious that Cesare de Laugier seems to have received his decoration of the "Légion d'Honneur" in 1819 - i.e., from the Bourbon monarchy? Cesare seems like an interesting fellow in any case 😁.

I also feel like, while recounting the march to Moscow, he really may have followed his personal diary and notes, for the story of the retreat he often simply paraphrased Labaume or Ségur. There are plenty of instances when he at length describes events that he was not present at.

In any case, I highly recommend this book for an additional perspective on the Russian campaign (and because Eugène is mentioned in it - even if not always favourably).

The Lodgepole chipmunk (Neotamias speciosus) is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae. It is found in the U.S. state of California at elevations from 1,500 to 3,000 metres (4,900 to 9,800 ft). The Lodgepole chipmunk has a variety of common names including: Tahoe chipmunk, Sequoia chipmunk, Mt. Pinos chipmunk, and San Bernardino chipmunk.

The Lodgepole chipmunk spans from the high Sierra Nevada, San Jacinto, San Bernardino, and San Gabriel Mountain ranges of California into the Lake Tahoe region of the west central corner of Nevada. This species lives in subalpine coniferous forests made primarily of several species of pines (Lodgepole, Jeffrey, Ponderosa, and Sugar) and firs (Douglas, white and red). They can be observed foraging around and on top of rocks and fallen logs, which make up the forest floor.

Several different vocalizations are used by the Lodgepole chipmunk during both courtship and when frightened by a predator. During courtship, visual displays can be shown through the action of tail flipping and body postures of both sexes. Alongside visual displays, during courtship males and females utilize chips and whistles. When frightened or alerting others, the Lodgepole chipmunk produces a high pitched "whisk", a shrill "tsew", as well as the series "pst-pst-pst-a-ku" in a rapid and repeated manner. After caching food throughout the spring and summer months, hibernation begins at the end of October and lasts until early to mid April, a five-six month span.

The Lodgepole chipmunk is an omnivore, feeding on both animal (mammals, birds, bird eggs, small invertebrates arthropods, and insects) and plant matter (leaves, flowers, pollen, fungi, and seeds). Like most rodents, this chipmunk engages in the foraging behavior of caching and storing food in order to survive the long winter hibernation. Through its diet, this chipmunk ingests seeds, which may not be completely broken down through the digestive process, and then defecated and dispersed throughout its habitat. Similarly, the Lodgepole chipmunk also disperses ectomycorrhizal fungi. This kind of fungi is important to forests, allowing for trees to subsist by increasing their water and nutrient gains. By dispersing spores, seeds, and pollen, the Lodgepole chipmunk plays an important role in the maintenance of the forest and mountain ecosystem.
