Cyclops and Alucard

✦These two are the easiest to explain since I've thought out their relations to Beetle much more often. As in I think about all of the angst more frequently. ✦These two are basically like dads to Beetle (to make up for the one they don't have-/j) Just two autistic dads and their equally autistic son. Cyclops is the one who always hypes them up over even the littlest things, he'll go tell Alucard and they'll be like "Neat 👍". That's the best Alucard can give, and it's more than enough for Beetle. ✦Beetle also makes drawings for them and they both fucking live for it. Cyclops hangs it up on his wall while Alucard keeps a collection hidden in a drawer somewhere. Also, if someone made fun of Beetle or made them upset for any reason, they've got two reckoning forces to answer to. No one hurts their son.

Pierre and Spike

✦Another two who are similar. For Pierre and Spike, Beetle is chill with them, and they are chill with Beetle. ✦For Pierre, Beetle doesn't mind him, and finds some enjoyment in his company. They enjoy the extra noise whenever he's just talking to either them, Spike, or any of the goth punks for that matter. It feels a bit empty when he's not there. ✦For Spike, it kind of intimidates Beetle, just a little. But they know that Spike means no harm and is just there to vibe. It made a good person to talk to whenever Beetle was feeling overwhelmed or anxious over something, and he would sometimes offer some advice every now and then. (which is one of the few times Spike would actually talk) ✦Also Beetle saw the gay coming, they know what those two are. (because i'm a full supporter on Pierre and Spike being gay and in love)

Hanzou

✦In Hanzo's case, the two are more acquaintances than anything else. Not to say that they don't have a few things that they bond over. The two are just more mutual each other than most of the group. ✦Beetle enjoys their passion for Japanese culture and the willingness to understand it. They let Hanzo yap to them whenever they get the chance, and Beetle will yap to them sometimes. They will then talk about Japanese things relating to their interests. ✦Overall, the two just enjoy having each other around.

Cassandra

✦The one who started it all. Cassandra and Beetle's relationship is interesting, to say the least. For Beetle, they see Cassandra as sort of the top dog, the big cheese. They have a lot of respect for her, especially since she's the one who brought them into the group in the first place. ✦For Cassandra, however, Beetle is baby. Beetle is precious, hold real gentle. She has a lot of faith in Beetle when they start fitting into the group, seeing how well they get along and how quickly they're adapting. Beetle is always willing to help out with anything, so long as it isn't extremely illegal or harmful. ✦Beetle looks up to Cassandra for a lot, and Cassandra finds Beetle's antics endearing even if they nearly give her a heart attack from time to time. Which makes their falling out all the more heartbreaking.

*the story of the shooting is very similar to SFA’s

Short Summary of lore:

After the shooting, Hanzou, Spike, and Pierre were the main deaths and Cass was heavily injured. Damien was able to find them and offered a trade to use Hanzou if he revived them and Cass agreed, hoping for vengeance anyways.

Damien failed against Otis and Hanzou was left on the verge of death but Alucard saved and patched them up. Cass saved Damien from dying to fall damage (L + ratio). Damien stayed to himself and licked his wounds while gaining a “small” obsession with Otis.

Cass convinced Damien to revive Spike and Pierre but they run away. Cyclops goes on a trip to North Korea (hideaway at home). Heroes of Pico's School happens.

After the game, they basically become vigilantes to fight crime/enemies to feel better about themselves and have a different outlet of whatever emotions they want.

Descriptive Rant:

The reasons the goth punks were inducted are somewhat the same as LCA. Hanzou and Alucard felt understood by Cass, Cyclops felt as if he could be more confident and strong against his enemies.

Spike and Pierre are somewhat similar to Cyclops as bully victims that basically want revenge and similarly cowardly but not as kind as him.

Hanzou gets revived by Damien and stays loyal to Cass; lowkey has a crush on her. They work for Damien purely bc Cass allowed him to borrow them. After the botched mission on his end, Cass bans Damien from using her friends (this is the start of her attachment to the goth punks).

After being revived by Damien, both Spike and Pierre remembered Cass insulting and killing them and felt betrayed as a result, running away from the goth punks to live a different life.

The goth punks go back for vengeance the same time the überkids take it over and they slowly reacquaint with the ng trio and start a truce. After they stop the überkids, they leave like nothing happened and Cass collects some über technology to placate Damien. Some time later, Cass hears about Convict and helps out against him, leading to her proposing an alliance.

Cassandra

“You Terrains have intrigued me so much that I have an offer to make. Let’s start an alliance. I can give you all the info and technology we have left and can scrounge up, and you get us acquainted with Terrain society and these three back into it.”

Cass was a bit of a stickler for rules. She grew up with the Penilian ideals ingrained. ‘Trust no one but yourself and your family.’ These ideal get twisted in her mind and her family becomes the goth punks and she gets disillusioned of Penilian society anyways.

Penilian society describes themselves as a family -a giant one- but thats bc it functions mostly like a beehive; royalty are the main ones to birth children. The “worker penilian” may adopt the larva and help raise them. There are schools centered on specific topics for the commoner larva to choose but royalty choose for their larva.

Cass grew up as the child of a duke, so closely linked to royalty. She was taught and mastered fighting and the use of magic, which is why she always carries a demonic grimoire. They also prepared her to be a good leader, which she used those skills for the goth punks and gathering them (manipulation was apart of it).

She was sent to Earth, with a few others, and monitored with a device as an example for others of Terrain society and any weakness of it to take it over. Her failure was aired live and she ended up banned from Penilian after Damien’s failure and her showing protectiveness over her gang.

Majoring in Politics

Alucard

Alucard grew up in a big household with his parents, siblings, aunt and uncle, cousins, and grandparents. It was pretty crowded so not many people would notice if a child or two was missing home for a while.

He, an older sister, and his cousin Osmose were experimented on in a secret room in their basement. That sister died to an “illness” and he and Osmose never got along well.

He also never got along well with Cyclops and Hanzou bc he sees bits of himself in them.

While Alucard hung out with Cass bc she understood him, his main reason was his own thoughts of revenge against his family. He never does act out any revenge, he’s a sheep in wolf’s clothing.

He was a bit bitter if the idea of an alliance but follows Cass either way.

Joins College at the same time as Otis, but not majoring in anything yet.

Cyclops

Cyclops grew up neglected. He family keeps to themselves and only gave their children the basics to life. He’s the youngest in the family and was always the butt of a joke.

His family life didnt stop him from being nice in other places but bullies quickly smothered that idea, making him wish to scare them off and everyone who picked on him. His last straw was losing his eye to one of his bullies and his parents did nothing about it.

He stuck with Cass bc he knew just hanging out with her would scare people off and she was nice to him too.

During the Heroes of Pico’s School, he wasn’t actually at North Korea, he was a shut in at home. He was hiding for a long while at home until Cass called him over to help with the convict situation.

Now, Cyclops ends up with the long end of the stick in the future. He doesnt work on the violence side of the group anymore but he becomes the designer/maker of everyone’s vigilante outfits. Cass and Damien had some say in some say in designs of some outfits but they were at least polished up by him.

He also designed the logo, came up with the name and goes back to his name, Cyril. He also talks to Spike and Pierre every now and then after meeting them again when they were 19.

Majoring in Fashion Design

Hanzou

They a middle child close in age to the eldest. Most of their parents attention was on their older brother who was the smartest and and their younger sister who was a spoiled golden child. They was always in the background and craved affection from others.

In middle school, they found out they were mixed japanese, which lead to their obsession with the culture. Hanzou was shunned for their loud and “obnoxious” behavior but they found a place of comfort with the goth punks.

They’re just generally excitable, and wishes no harm on others, but when Cass asks for their help in the shooting, they didnt want to disappoint the few people who was close to them.

After being revived by Damien and experimented on as a result, their brain flipped a switched and not only did they stay unwaveringly loyal to Cass, but became a bit more violent. Theyre the opposite of Alucard and Cyclops in terms of violence; they dont crave it necessarily, but is very willing to carry it out.

Their personality is generally the same since childhood ignoring their capabilities of violence.

Majoring in Game Design

Damien

“You want me to be your engineer? And that’s not even the funny part… you’re trying to bribe me with my worst fucking enemy, hah. Y’know what, fine. I got nothing else to do on this shithole of a planet. Maybe i can find a way to take over it myself with this.”

Damien is an arrogant guy that fully believes in only himself. He was raised by a commoner penilian, aka a worker, and hasnt gotten the ideals ingrained in him. His guardian neglected him and made him raise himself. He snuck around into classes that interested him and is a quick learner, catching the attention of royalty and leading to him being educated deeply in bioengineering and magic. His genius was the reason we was sent to Earth but his lose was the result of his lone wolf personality and overconfidence in his fighting ability. He was taught a more supportive role but he was never that way, always trying to the initiative.

He has a loose understanding and ability to use manipulation but its a bit basic compared to Cass’. He could mostly gather people who would only use each other but couldnt fabricate a close bond like Cass had at first.

When Otis defeats him, he gains a major obsession over their strength and ability to defeat him thats somewhat overshadowed by his promise of vengeance; also a bit mixed together.

When he does become the engineer for the group, he actually takes a more supportive role to “observe” and also wait for Otis to join.

Double majoring in Bioengineering and Theory of Magic (magic is ingrained in terrain society)

Despite their many issues and absences, they were all able to complete school around the same time as the ng trio.

Damien had to get fabricated docs of being homeschooled and caught up tho.

L.A.’s largest Jewish neighborhood was the site of an anti-Jewish riot on Sunday, as a pro-Hamas and Hezbollah mob attacked Jews and blocked access to a synagogue where an Israel real estate fair was taking place. At around 11 a.m., rioters gathered outside Adas Torah Synagogue in the Pico-Robertson area and came mask/kefiyyeh-to-face against Jews who had come to rally in support of Israel, responding to a call on social media to turn out after recent Israel real estate events in other cities, including Teaneck, NJ and Toronto, drew antisemitic hordes, and one in Brooklyn was preemptively canceled because police would not guarantee the safety of attendees.

LAPD riot police responded to the chaotic scene and eventually cleared the area in front of the synagogue. But what happened in between is drawing ire from Jewish community leaders.

Political consultant Noah Pollak posted on X that he was at the synagogue and that the LAPD “let the Hamas supporters take over the sidewalk in front of the shul and block its entrance. In fact, LAPD had formed a cordon around the front of the shul to keep Jews out and Hamas supporters in. I tried to enter with my kids through the front door and was turned away not by Hamas supporters but by the LAPD. Anyone who wanted to attend had to use a secret back entrance.”

Shouting now familiar slogans including “Long live the intifada!” and “There is only one solution, intifada revolution,” the crowd quickly grew violent, punching and shoving and weaponizing bottles, sticks, and even their sign handles to attack Jews. Bear spray was also used, including against journalist Cam Higby, who posted videos of the attack on social media.

Police made only a single arrest – for carrying a prohibited “spiked flag.” They are reportedly investigating two allegations of battery.

Echoing coverage of the Israel-Hamas war, many news outlets framed the incident as a spontaneous “brawl,” “outbreak of violence” and “violent clash” (CNN’s take was “Violent scuffles break out between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and counter protestors in Los Angeles”) – yet this was anything but a random, unforeseen occurrence. Community activist and former Los Angeles City Council candidate Sam Yebri posted on X that “these terrorists told us when and where they were coming. For a week, we pleaded with our elected leaders to speak up. Not one made a public statement condemning these extremists.” He said elected officials “told LAPD to stand down and not intervene… Fortunately, proud Jews and well-organized Jewish groups stepped up to prevent a mass casualty event and the total destruction of the Pico-Robertson.” The Palestinian Youth Movement LA and Code Pink LA were among those behind Sunday’s riot.

“It’s like the media [are] bending over backwards to be politically correct,” the founder of Americans Against Antisemitism, former New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, told The Jewish Press. “The people that appeared at the synagogue [in Los Angeles] were radical Palestinians, Arabs, others who were there to disrupt. There are no two sides to that story. There is only one side, there are the good guys, and the other, the evil guys.”

Yebri said what occurred in front of the synagogue is “a dark stain in the history of Los Angeles. Violent extremists who proudly praise Hamas and Hezbollah marched outside an Orthodox synagogue in America’s most heavily Jewish neighborhood outside of New York – where my kids go to school, where my family worships, where my family eat and shop – and brazenly terrorized Jewish Angelenos with impunity and without any consequence. These violent masked domestic terrorists bludgeoned Jews, vandalized synagogues, schools and stores, keyed cars, assaulted anyone who appeared Jewish blocked Jews from entering their synagogue, and chanted for the genocide of the Jewish people. These violent masked domestic terrorists are now dispersing into Jewish neighborhoods hunting Jews and causing more destruction and vandalism.”

Indeed, videos of so-called “Jew-hunting” on the on the streets of L.A. that same day have circulated on social media, one showing stick-wielding thugs exiting their car to attack Jews, and another showing a mass of screaming protestors, having moved on from outside the synagogue, making their way down the block of a Jewish neighborhood threatening residents.

“Pro-Hamas and Hezbollah extremists violently attacked American Jews in Los Angeles and the politicians ordered the police to do nothing to defend them,” wrote Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. “Radical leftists and Islamists are ruining our country.”

Late Sunday night, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass issued statements denouncing the morning’s violence, specifically condemning the targeting of a house of worship. President Biden also issued a statement of condemnation.

Meanwhile, on the East Coast, a Jewish woman and her husband were attacked and beaten at their children’s graduation at a Brooklyn elementary school last week. Members of an Arabic-speaking family at P.S. 682 in Gravesend threw the man to the ground, grabbed his legs, and kicked and punched him. To the tune of “Free Palestine!” “Gaza is Ours!” and “Death to Israel!” the man was put in a chokehold and assaulted with a sharp stiletto heel the couple alleged.

The Jewish mom and her husband, a Dominican who is Catholic, shared their story with the New York Post after police refused to classify the incident as a hate crime. The NYPD is now investigating the incident further. “They targeted my family because we are Jewish,” said the woman, whose 10-year-old twins witnessed the assault, and whose 16-year-old was punched in the face after trying to help his father. While trying to video the assault, the mother was also attacked, pulled by her hair from behind and knocked to the ground by a woman shouting, “I will kill you.”

“The other side is saying, ‘Oh, they started it,’” Hikind said. “We in the Jewish community should be very, very concerned about the future…I say that because unfortunately, there’s no leadership as far as I’m concerned. These incidents happen, there’s no plan, there’s no plan to deal with everything going on…There are so many situations that don’t even make the news, so things are even worse than what we think they are.”

In an incident which did make the news last week, a mob of teens attacked a 41-year-old hasidic man late one night in Williamsburg with traffic cones and bottles while shouting antisemitic slurs. The NYPD hate crimes task force is investigating.

As of May 21, antisemitic crimes were up 55% in New York City compared with the same time last year – amounting to 143 incidents, according to the NYPD. Nationally, the Anti-Defamation League reported a record high of 8,873 antisemitic incidents in 2023 – a 140% rise over 2022 – with 5,200 of those occurring after October 7. The period of October 7 through January 7 saw a 361% rise over the previous year. Figures for 2024 are not yet available.

“There are no consequences for antisemitism,” Hikind told The Jewish Press. The message violent demonstrators get, in his words: “You’re free. Go ahead and do it tomorrow again.”
