Ok so just this comparison is not good.

On the right you have the official drawing of Apollo, made by Kazuya Nuri, to present the character.

On the left, it's the look at 3d models for Dual Destinies : the point is not for the 3d models to look good, it's just to show what they are. That's why all the characters make a very neutral pose that doesn't match their personalities ; 3d models are like dolls.

If you want to compare, then take Apollo full Body illustration from Dual Destinies by Takuro Fuse, that is a good way to highlight the differences of style.

What I just want to say is don't make unfair comparison, try to take two elements that where made with the same technique/in the same goal.

i just played swooning over stans and...help i'm so obsessed with these two now..here is littles headcanons for them when they are both in love with you :-)

warnings : swearing (thank you stanley), gn!reader, using they/them pronouns, mention of child abuse

smarter than stan, he tries to make you more open around him, asking you about personnal stuff and trying to comfort you when things gets too hard for you to tell, he even experienced to make hugs (bc my dude is awkard) and he purposelly hugs you in front of stan while you are crying about something related from your abusive parents, bonus point if you say : "oh ford..what would i do without you..", he would look at his twin, sticking out his tongue in a proud grin, revenge is a plate you eat cold they said

when you are all watching a show on the t-v and that it's his turn to choose the movie, even if he is dying to watch a documentary, he puts an horror movie and sits next to you, watching you take his hand as a loud noises his heard or hugs you if you are too scared

when you both work and you pass out on a table, he first puts his long jacket on you, and if it gets too late, he takes you in his arms to put you in your bed, all while him and stan are having a "who is gonna look the more angry at eachother" contest

when stan swears , he likes to take him back, especially if you don't like that either (or if it's not the right moment or the right place to do those) of course it doesn't stop him for saying : "for fuck's sake" or "fucking little nerd" while you laugh with ford

Pomme, the french egg

So I did a post about the french streamers (and their characters) and their mischaracterization I could see from time to time (https://www.tumblr.com/odusseus-xvi/724443078442778624/hello-helloooo-friend-hi-i-just-wanted-to-say) But I realised I didn't talk about Pomme, who has arguably the MOST mischaracterization I can find :

Most of the fandom see her only through English or other languages streams (BBH, Philza and Maximus mostly recently) limiting their views of her in general, but because of that a lot of people don't seem to know what her personnality is like, and most of the time in fanarts or fanfics she just feels like Talullah (which people also mischaracterize) but french, a little sweet girl in a little dress, so I decided to do a little summary of what she is like and some of her traits that you may have missed :

What people do get right is that she is most of the time polite and empathetic, that people get, though they tend to simplify her to only that.

She is very intelligent (learned a bit of create with Aypierre) and likes to both theorize and gossip with Baghera.

One of her parents is ETOILES !! She is a good and competent fighter ; just a few days ago she went and did a Nether Dungeon with Phil and Etoiles while Talullah worked on her garden. Her main weapon is a Moonlight GREATsword, a GREATsword, a BIGASS SWORD. She participated in infiltration missions in Federation Buildings alongside BBH, and Aypierre, in which she saved her father (Aypierre) from being caught and interrogated by Cucurucho

She has developped a deep paranoïa when it comes to the eggs' and her own safety ; between the combination of the attack of the code on her a while back, where she lost ten totems in mere seconds, an attack so strong that the admins went "ok my bad, we went a little far" (Draw her with golden scars !!! The tens of totems that saved her !!!), and the explosion at the Wilbur Party where she lagged just enough that she wasn't tped as fast as the other eggs and saw parts of the explosion. She is now scared of explosions, and always on the lookout (She also shows from time to time that her inventory and hotbar is constantly filled with gold apples and splash regeneration potions.) : During Etoiles' solo fight with the codes, when she saw the first "Dapper is down" message, and that she knew Phil was AFK, she went and pressed the OVO button HERSELF immediatly, and she got there faster than Forever !!

She is a really good writer, her diaries are praised by her parents everytime they read it, and she decided it would what would represent her in BBH's Egg Museum : She built a library where she will put her books for everyone to read. She is also a good and patient builder, with particular attention to interior design : While doing that she has shown a bit of maniacal side : She LOVES symmetry, and is irritated very easily when it doesn't go that route : One time Etoiles was teasing her by putting random blocks in her build and she went "PUT THAT GRASS BLOCK DOWN !!!" and when he continued she just left without saying goodbye.

She doesn't like to lie or steal things, she is honest in that way, BUT she often dodges questions either by saying things like "Don't worry about it :)" or by trying to guilt trip the asker by looking sad or drowning herself. She aslo picked up from Baghera the way she buries herself when mocked or shamed.

She can have a very dry and aware humor coming from Antoine's irony and cynicism and Aypierre's teachings.

Also fun fact, because of timezones, her default state on the server is sleep deprived. She is a sleepy egg.

TL;DR : She is a sweet Badass, and I'll stand by that. I need more fanarts of her with scars, her sword, dark circles under her eyes, and LOOKING LIKE THE GENTLE BADASS SHE IS !

Hi ! Today I am posting my first ever astro observations ! Hope you like it! (if you do, there is more to come *mischevious smirk)

Aries rising men

-> Aries rising men tend to look either really "primal" or like a greek god that fell from the Mount of Olympus.

From the ones I have seen (which is rare like where are they hiding??l) they have thick straight eyebrows, are taller than average, tend to be on the skinnier/leaner side and tend to have a prominent cranium.

-> They also often look mad/like they are about to start a fight or they are just pissed off 24/7 (it's similar to Scorpio risings RBF but it's not as intense or shady it's more like "the fuck you're looking at ugly ass" lmaooo)

-> I knew a guy who was an Aries rising and he described himself as a professional hater. He loved cursing at people and just getting pissed off. He admitted that himself by saying stuff like "i love hating on people" and would, without any shame, try to find any opportunity to shit on people (just for fun though lmaoo)

This attitude/anger issues/cursing at people 24/7 can also be seeing in Vinnie Hacker for instance. *He is an Aries rising and the way his only screentimes in the Hype House show was him treatening to beat people's asses is so funny to me help-

Also , Vinnie Hacker to me (obviously) falls into the "greek god looking" type of Aries rising men.

Men and women with aries stelliums often radiate libra energy for some reason. 

They look really elegant and feminine. They usually have really good manners, they are really soft spoken and sweet. They are super polite and charming. They seem generally approachable and have a nice smile on top of that.

-> Her appearance and singing is really angel-like. She sings with a really sweet and soft voice, usually about love.

-> She comes off a little shy at first, but mostly well-mannered and polite. She also smiles a lot.

-> The gentleness in the way she talks and the "Let's not make it political" screams Libra to me. All about keeping the peace and the harmony.

-> She is known for her fashion sense, which is quite "girly".

I also see a lot of men saying she looks "feminine", she has a lot of fanboys and they seem to adore her softness and her nice personnality (in addition to her beauty). A lot of them act a bit possessive towards her. it's like she brings out this "i'll provide and take care of you" type of energy out of men lmaoo

-> I knew two guys with aries stelliums who came across really calm and composed, which sounds completely opposite to what Aries are stereotypically described as.

(one of the guys had a taurus rising and his stellium was located in the 12th house so maybe that is why he seemed much calmer and almost melancholic?)

Scorpio rising women

Scorpio rising women tend to have square/ rectangular and straight body types. Their shoulders tend to be really prominent and squarish.

They are also usually of a smaller height, or just smaller than average. They also have a pretty prominent forehead and prominent cheekbones.

The Ryu Shi Oh treatment

Oh boy do I have a lot to say.

So Shi Oh is the CEO of Doogo right ?

When we first met him we saw that he was violent and he did not care about being physically violent.

His introduction scene came in episode 1 when he was in that bus thingy watching Nam Soon stopping the plane and being head over heels for her. He is fascinated by her

At the beginning we dont have much info about him : all that we know is that he is the CEO, the one dealing the drugs, violent and scared of nothing.

Then we see him doing his little business drug and wanting to find Nam Soon, then he do finds her.

The chemistry is there at their first scene. Shi Oh is fascinated by her and really likes her, he wants to know more. He is jealous as he sees her having fun downstairs with Hee Sik.

Somehow she comes to aid him at the office, he trust her, he is fascinated by her, by Tsetseg.

The more we see them the more we see a new side of Shi Oh.

Not only do we learn that he can be very tender, soft hearted, he worries about her, cares about her. He wants to help her get a citizenship, drive her home, wants to help her find her own home. He drives her home personnally, they have meals together. He helps her putting her bag well on her shoulder, helps her with her jacket.

She is the only person which can makes him smile.

He is interested in her, and truly cares for her.

Not only that but we also learnt about his past, which he is starting to share with her as well.

He was an orphan and was adopted into a russian mafia group, which truly mistreated him. He could not eat if he did not win hand fight, was clearly being beaten up. We are only starting to see of his abuse, physical and mental.

The fact that he is opening up to Nam Soon (Tsetseg) and explaining that for him friendship and love were never an option but that with her it is finally something he can imagine is so important.

He also confessed and is vocal about his feelings. He trust her, he wants her by his side.

We also saw them bonding multiple times, being away from their natal countries, missing something, Being honest and wondering what their places in society is.

We also saw her standing up for him against her mother. Which he deeply appreciated. She always cares about him and asks him whats wrong

There is this phrase that I really like that nam soon said that was about your place in life : wether someone is in the dark or in the light and she said that he was in the middle. Searching for his light.

We saw in the last two episodes that he keeps thinking about : Nam soon could be his light, he wants to be in the light.

He is trying his hardest to break free from the mafia and the drugs and the antidote are that door to freedom for him.

We also saw how deeply he was worried for her when she did not come to work, how worried he was that it was because of his confession, but also when he took the drug he asked her to stay away from him, why ? probably because he was scared that he could hurt her.

Now the problem is that we are getting at the end of the drama. Soon he will find out that Tsetseg the woman he loves and trust is not who she pretends to be. And he is going to be broken hearted.

I don't see a good ending for him, the most likely cases can be cut to 3 :

Mafia finds him first and kills him since he is disobeying them

The police will arrest him and he will end in jail

He dies during a police operation (I could totally see a scene where he dies in Nam-Soon arms thanking her for making him feel love and friendship for the first time in his life)

Now that is why I am mad. It is extremely unlikely that he will have a happy ending, that he will be with Nam Soon

Which to me is so unfair.

Yes he did hurt and kill people but he is a victim as well.

He has trauma, and a really heavy huge one. It is not a vilain which does it without reasons or only for his pleasure, he is doing it to free himself from the mafia and from his trauma.

What he definitely needs is a therapist. He needs to heal from the pain in his heart.

What makes it so unfair is that I know he is not gonna end up well, he will either die or end up in jail.

And I hates it.

I want him to be happy, to be at peace. His whole life was suffering and trusting no one.

And now that he finally trust and love someone he is gonna lose her. He is gonna lose everything.

I just wish that for once, he would be happy, he would be forgiven just like the girl who tried to kill Nam-Soon.

I wish that he could be with Nam-Soon and heal properly with his trauma.

All those scenes that shows his trauma and childhood is to make us feel for him, feel sympathetic. Only for what ? For them to kill him off (probably).

The message that will be send out will be that even if you have trauma and you start to heal from it, is that there is no way of healing, there is no way of being free.

Shi Oh deserves the hapiness, he deserves to be with Nam Soon.

And I know that he will not get it

I recommend you check out the website of the RATP (Paris' public transportation system) right before coming as the elevators don't always working because of maintenance or accidents. Here is a link of the stations supposed to be accessible. If you have a chair, here's a page for the Paris aéroport's system. You might also get free parking (check the visitor question at the end).

PS - I don't know about other companies, but Carrefour has started doing "calm hours" twice a day for people with sensitivity issues. This page will show what restaurants are accessible.

Messrs Payne and Rowland's Adventuring Agency

Part 1: The Arrival of Young Crystal - 23

Getting there! This is going to get some SERIOUS revisions before it ever goes near AO3, but the general idea is built and at 13k some for the draft, I'm guessing it'll be a decent sized story xD Now, if someone could tell my gdoc to behave and stop pretending like I didn't write a couple thousands of new words in that whole Crystal & Charles v the early supermarket shift session, that would be great.

It's surprising how fast some things become familiar. They found an alleyway at the edge of the residential areas, calm but not quite deserted, and they're waiting for Mr. Payne to finish his incantations with a game of boulder parchment shears that Crystal is, as usual, winning with almost frustrating ease.

She'd have less luck if Charles actually paid attention to it, but at this point she's come to expect the way he keeps an eye on the mouth of the alley and another on Mr. Payne, always on the loukout for danger. Crystal is leaning against the wall beside him, aching and tired and looking forward for her not-a-treehouse of a room, with its comfy bed and its soft light. She is also, despite Charles' best efforts, still pissed.

"It's just not fair," she whispers angrily, trying to angle her mouth away from Mr. Payne, just in case now is the time he decides to pay attention to her again. "I don't even know how I did what I did! It's not like he can't learn combat spells in his precious books."

"You're really convinced he's jealous of you, aren't you?" Charles chuckles, and turns back to the front of the alley just in time to miss the flat stare Crystal throws his way.

Shouldn't he see it too? He said he and Mr. Payne have been partnered for longer than Crystal has been alive. Presumably. So how can he not see the way Mr. Payne grimaced every time Crystal's magic came up after their fight against the sea creature? Well, maybe he sees it and he's just trying to sweep it under the rug, but somehow Crystal doesnt think so. It would seem too... well, too underhanded, from what she's seen of Charles so far.

"I can't think of any other reason for the hostility," she says. "Other than him being a stuck up ass."

"You have to be a little patient," Charles says, finally turning back to fully look at her. "We haven't had anyone stay with us this long before-I know you don't remember right now, but most people would be unnerved at having an unexpected guest stay in their home indefinitely."

Crystal winces and looks away from Charles. He's not wrong. She is an imposition, she doesn't need her memories to realize that, but where the fuck else is she supposed to go? She has no idea where she's from, or what she can do aside from hitting things hard and apparently hurting them with her mind, it's not exactly the kind of skillset the city seems to need. Even if it were, well. It's not like she's seen an abundance of women in the city guards--there are some, yes, but not many, and all older than her. She can't sit on a bench until she's old enough to join.

"Ah," Charles says as the door of the agency clicks open. "Here we go."

He follows Mr. Payne inside, leaving Crystal literally on the outside looking in. The walls show the dark green of the office, always the first room they see upon arrival, which kind of makes sense. It's elegant and no nonsense, but not austere, at least not unless Mr. Payne decides to make it so. There's a sense of personnality in it, Charles' trinket mixed with his colleagues' books and manuals, and after almost two weeks coming back to it every night, Crystal has to admit there's a comfort in seeing it, too. She wonders if that's what it feels like for them. Coming home. She wonders if there's a place out there that'll give her the same feeling twenty years from now.

"You will have to make a choice eventually," Mr. Payne calls out, appearing in Crystal's field of vision like a particularly miffed ghost. "If that could happen sooner rather than later, we would all be quite grateful."

Crystal rolls her eyes and steps in, carefully hiding the small pinch of relief when the spell lets her in again. She bites her gauntlets off, first, then gets started on the rest of her buckles with a grunt of annoyance. Charles said she'd get better at it, but it's been a couple of days and frankly, right now she's not seeing it. At least she mostly figured out how not to snag her hair when she takes her breastplate off, but that doesn't prevent her from glaring at Charles when he comes in and chuckles at her.

"Shut up," she grumbles, stepping into the office and going straight for the bookshelves.

overall, is a lyrically beautiful album. there’s so much emotion in the music and her delivery. her imagery is so beautiful as always. personally, i won’t say i love it but it is so so impactful. releasing 31 songs in one project is unheard of so i tip my hat to her ability to tell these stories with such grace and eloquence through such a marathon of an album. i like that you can hear bits of her previous albums in some of the songs and it is a very mature project imo. you can tell how much this meant to her and how much of herself she’s poured out. its an overall ~7.8/10 for me but i would recommend everyone to give it a listen

In defense of Abby Clark

I've been watching 911 for 3 years now, but I've always kept to myself and haven't interacted with a lot of people from the fandom. This changed recently because of my excitement for canon bisexual Buck (and the very real chance of canon Buddie) and my for you page on Twitter is now full of tweets about 911. It made me realize how many people hate Abby, to the point of sometimes advising people on skipping season 1 entirely (which I don't get because why would you willingly miss an entire season, especially one that set most of the characters and their relationships with each other?).

I think it's totally fine to dislike her but sadly, some people seems to need to twist the reality in order to look good while doing it.

As of today, I have watched the entire first season again (and the first few episodes of season 2) and thought I'd question some stuff that are presented as facts to new fans :

She was abusive/toxic toward Buck:

Where ? Like, really guys.. Where ?

First of all, I think some people are turned off by the age gap. Nothing wrong with having your own preferences. But there's no reason to make it into something it's not. Nothing in the show even hint that Abby targets younger men. There's also no scene where she tries to use his age against him. When we can hear her thoughts about him, she's never thinking about him in a predatory way and while she does seems to be a bit self conscious about her age, that's it. It's not even an important part of the plot.

Also, you know. Relationships with a big age gap between two (or more) consenting adults aren't inherently harmful, especially when the characters are fictionnal. Buck is absolutely not "too young" to date her. He's an adult man who's considered adult enough by people around him to take decisions about people's lives every day.

Sure, the way she gets his number is very questionnable, but she tells him the truth very openly. I think it's one of the many times in the show where the characters are shown being unprofessional and we're supposed to suspend our beliefs about it.

Also, if you consider this preying on Buck, do you realize the amount of women he has preyed on by using his status as firefighters? We know he dated or had sex with women he saved before, which is pretty creepy when you keep in mind that it means they might feel like they owe him a date (or more). And yet we all know his intentions are absolutely not to manipulate them into anything. So why is it so difficult to also assume Abby's intentions were absolutely not to prey on him? She seems to be happy to see someone in their work field recognize her skills, and feel like she understands him. She seems to just wants to connect with him, whether you interpret it as a romantic interest from the beginning or not.

She went away to Dubling at a key point of their relationship :

That's because she's a well written character, who's personnality doesn't revolve around her romantic relationship! That's a good thing! She's a normal woman, who spend years taking care of her mom, pretty much on her own for the most part, and she not only watched her mom's state worsen, but she also watched her suffer and loose her sense of self. And it's so tragic that her mom dying is the only thing that can truly make her free. She seems to have given up many things (including a relationship) to care for her mom.

Obviously leaving to go to Dublin wasn't the best thing to do for her relationship but to be fair, she certainly seems adamant that she's going to come back. Also, I think it's good writing! This is a woman who's far more than her romantic relationship, who lost her mom and who's realizing she doesn't know herself. It's only natural that a person like her, with self respect and a lot of life experiences would understand the importance of some selfishness, especially because she's been selfless for so long. Her mom sacrificied many things and she doesn't want to do the same!

She ghosted Buck

Well, actually... She didn't? I actually remembered that too since it's often presented as fact by some fans but she seems to have broken up with him in a way that is obvious enough that (at least) Chimney realizes. I'm not saying it was well done, of course and she probably should have been a thousand times clearer but it does seems she tried to end things. We can't be a hundred percent sure of what was said between them so it's difficult to know if part of it isn't also Buck not having the experience of a serious relationship ending/being a little bit in denial. But interestingly, certain fans seems to think it's completely her responsability.

We can assume she might have been a bit careless with it, but again, I think it makes sense for her character, who cared for her mom & her job so much that maybe she's becoming a lot more selfish now.

But no matter what you think about it.. This is absolutely not the proof of a toxic or abuse relationship. It doesn't erase the actual happy moments they shared together, the way they both improved through that relationship and it's literally the only time she messed up in their relationship, that was obviously about to end anyway. And if you can forgive/understand Buck for cheating on Taylor.. Why can't you at least not rewrite their actual relationship?

She didn't trust Buck when he was accused of being a cheater:

Again, she's not written as one dimensional character who's existence only rely on her romantic interest. Sure, she trusts Buck (and she does end up believing him) but it's understandable that, while she's going through the first stage of grief, she might not have the patience or energy to listen to her boyfriend defend himself in the very public place where everyone saw him being accused of cheating on you. It was very brief and she wasn't even mean about it. Come on.

Athena hates her:

I see people making edits of out of context moments to try and say that Athena (and the others) always disliked Abby.

To be honest, that one feels a bit sexist. So because Athena is not jumping to hug her it means she hates her? Female characters (and real women) can be not super close without hating each other. Honestly, they both don't look like they really care about the other, and that's all. And that's really not a big deal.

And I think it's the same for the other characters. Bobby seems to respect her a lot and actually helps Buck improve his relationship with her. The other characters don't seems to care for Abby and it's not like they really interact with each other anyway.

Conclusion :

Basically, I wish people would just say they don't like her instead of using moral reasons to make themselves look good for disliking her. And I would also add.. I've seen some of those people says they want complex female characters. Are you sure this is what you want or do you just want female characters who are easily disposable when they're not needed for your favorite male character? (it's not a judgement, I just think people should be honest about that)

And personnally.. I kind of like her. She's always very tired and we don't necessarily see the best moments of her life but I think that's the point of her story in the show. And I'm so glad 911 gave us so many women who are in their 40s or older (Athena, Hen, Karen, Abby...) and who are living full and rich lives. It's so very refreshing and I love that they never tried to make Abby look younger. She has wrinkles! She never tried to convince herself or other people that she was young! It's not even something she really cares about!

And I do think that, as much as she messed up in the end, she was a very good influence for Buck, and it's pretty sad to deny that part of his story. Her age actually helped with that because her life experience means she wasn't too impressed with him and was able to stand her ground which I think Buck liked. She challenged him! It helped him see that he is able to have a serious relationship (which I hope will be used for Buddie hehe) It's pretty great imo and I'm glad she was a part of the show.

Dracula and Lisa ☕️

OH BOY OH BOY INTERACTION LETS GO OK SO

I actually have two ways of looking at their relationship: One is "if Lisa is Elisabetha's reincarnation" (wich hasn't been confirmed canonically as far as i'm aware ?), the other being, obviously, is Lisa is her own person and not Elisabetha's reincarnation. in both scenarios she pegs Dracula

So to start with the first one:

Love them, they're cute, there's something poetic about Mathias' wife coming back for round 2 as Drac's wife. It's pretty heartwarming, ESPECIALLY considering Lisa brought Dracula's humanity back just by... being her. I don't think she tried anything special. I see it more as something like a "beauty and the beast" kinda story, where the beauty didn't try to change the beast (at least, not actively), but her personnality was so charming that it brought back to life what had died centuries ago in the beast, and encouraged him to be better. And this change is probably what charmed Lisa too, if we consider that she has no memory of her past life (maybe a few flashbacks here and there ?). The only problem is that Dracula changed for HER, not for himself nor anyone else. So, of course, when she died... he had no reason to continue on the right path. He couldn't see any reason, at least, because of his grief and the traumatic memories of losing his first wife.

But yeah, in this version, i see them having a pretty wholesome relationship. ON THE OTHER HAND...

In the context of Lisa NOT being Elisabetha, MAN, HOW THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS NOT OKAY. I mean from a story perspective, it's very interesting, BUT OTHERWISE, LISA, MY GIRL, YOU DESERVE BETTER-

Do I need to explain how toxic it is for Dracula to get in a relationship with a woman just because she reminds him of HIS DEAD EX ?? Going out with someone just because they look like your ex IS ALREADY BAD ENOUGH I MEAN OERIGHSERLGKNESRMLKGN YOU NEED TO GET OVER YOUR LOSS FIRST ?? THE WOMAN ISN'T A REPLACEMENT, SHE'S NOT SOME OBJECT YOU CAN PROJECT ON Y'KNOW ??

Ok hold on i'll explain in a little bit more details:

So, in this context, after 400 years or so, Dracula is STILL not over Elisabetha. Can't really blame him, she's like, the whole reason why he turned into a vampire in the first place... But then Lisa appears, and Dracula immediately sees Elisabetha in her. She's not her, but in Dracula's mind, it's the same thing. He cannot see her as someone else, as her very own person, and say (probably think) he is in love with her, when truly, he's in love with the illusion of his dead wife. And clearly, he'll treat her right ! This "restoring his humanity" thing is still very true, but it's not because of Lisa being herself. It's because she looks like Elisabetha (both in body and mind. I mean we don't know much about Elisabetha but i like to think she was a very smart, kindhearted woman as well), and Dracula has never been able to truly differentiate the two, wich isn't healthy for ANY of them. I can even picture Dracula slipping up and directly calling her Elisabetha at one point, when he was very sleepy (not even remembering it afterwards). Lisa definitely knew, but delt with it anyway, because she knew she had a "good" effect on him (and we know she was ready to sacrifice herself for the "greater good"). It's thanks to her that Dracula calmed down for a few years. Plus, i do think she loved him sincerely, to the bitter end... Dracula did too, in his own twisted way (like he did LEON but that's another story for another day)

But if there's something that both version shares is: Dracula... is SO BAD AT DEALING WITH THE DEATH OF HIS LOVED ONES. HE'S- HE SUCKS AT BEING MENTALLY AND EMOTIONNALLY STABLE. And not JUST THAT, but he also seems to be VERY emotionnally dependent on Elisabetha and Lisa. The whole "he's ready to destroy the world for his lover" is DEFINITELY NOT AS ROMANTIC AS SOME PEOPLE THINK. IT'S TERRIBLE. THE MAN IS INCAPABLE OF MOVING ON NO MATTER HOW MANY CENTURIES PASSES- GUYS IT'S BAD. OUR MAN IS NOT OKAY. And i find it SO GOOD AND INTERESTING. The big bad of Castlevania, the man, no, the MONSTER everyone fears, responsible for LOTS and LOTS of innocent deaths, many curses, even went as far as re-creating the RAREST and most POWERFUL of stones and making a deal with Death itself to steal a powerful vampire soul (consciously provoking the death of his best friend's betrothed in the process)... his lover die and he is CRUSHED. DESTROYED. RUINED. HE CAN'T EVEN THINK NOR CARE ABOUT HOW BAD HE'S HURTING HIS OWN SON. OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER. IT'S JUST PURE HATRED TO COVER THE INTENSE GRIEF. It's honestly tragic. And i LOVE IT so much... had Lisa decided to be a therapist instead of a doctor, maybe he wouldn't have turned the way he did lol

ANYWAY... i think about Drac' a lot. Less about Lisa/Elisabetha ngl but i can't think about the Dark Lord's sentimental shortcoming without thinking about them.

So Liam was my first ever andromeda romance (listen, he was cute and friendly and passionate about what he did, I couldn't resist), and I think what a lot of people dislike about him is he usually takes risks first and only tells others about them when they either blow up in his face or work out. Which isn't ideal in the current situation where communication is key to survival. He is used to making quick, potentially risky decisions on his own due to his background in crisis response and rescue, which, as i mentioned, doesn't really work on a crisis this big. Also, he clashes with Vetra, but given their different upbringing and views on life, it can be understandable, but a lot of people dislike him for it. I do feel like he is a little stuck in the way he handles the world around him, but he isn't as bad as some of the fandom makes him out to be, since he does show willingness to grow. So, overall, not my favourite character, but he isn't as bad as some of the fandom makes him out to be. In my opinion. I am a little iffy on Cora's general personnality, but that's because I don't know her very well and never really take her anywhere since I feel like our personalities wouldn't mesh well. The way she handles some things irritates me (same with Liam), but she has more nuance than she is usually given credit for, from what i can tell. -blue anon

I think it's Andromeda writing and pacing that's not giving him justice.

Mass effect writting was always corny in a way, campy more accurately. Cliche but fondly so and the pacing was just right. Most importantly, it was self aware. The writers knew the tropes they were leaning into and it clearly showed. That's why it hits so hard when a twist comes since you get used to expecting to know what comes next.

In Andromeda the pacing is thrown out the window since it's an open world game. Making scenes with Liam either feel too rushed or too spaced out depending on your playstyle and how many times you talk to him. Sometimes it felt like he's moving too fast, other times like he's giving me the cold shoulder.

Even his speech feels...rushed? It's bite sized scenes. Not giving him enough time to fully talk and express his thoughts. Compare any of his scenes at the start with that one scene with Kaidan where he awkwardly explains his backstory at jump zero.

Was it convoluted and painstakingly long? Yes but it gave him time to shine. Players who cared about him enjoyed the exposition a lot, especially with how much he was opening up. He spoke in details and stuttered a lot because it is true to his character.

Meanwhile when liam talks about himself, it feels chopped and out of place because of his writing. Like I know chopped, and the way his speech jumps from point A to Z immediately without any letter in between just makes it feel like a fever dream. It's like you're speaking with someone who's trying to say many things at once and you end up leaving not sure what the fuck the two of you were even talking about.

A lot of Andromeda writting suffers from trying to be hip and cool while being corny? Like you can't be camp if you desperately attempt to be genuinely cool and modern, these things contrast. Liam is a character that was clearly ment to represent a casual chill guy with a chaotic side and modern tones. Not too wild like Peebee but not too non-human like Cora, he's new but not new new.

So he ends up being written like what a kid imagines a cool guy to be and it doesn't work in his favour at all.

You have to look past a lot of bad writing to see his genuine traits and core ideas shine through is what I'm saying. There this muddy fog between you and the character he was meant to be.

Because he's exactly like you described! But only after you have all the pieces to his personality and be able to filter him from the horrible game writing.

Liamn was very interesting to me at the start. Like you immediately focus on him after creating your character because he is directly opposite from you during the scene and you can't help but stare at him. It was organic and so beautifully done how he was seamlessly introduced, catching your attention.

But man it is downhill after that. There is just....nothing below the surface, a thousand yards empty stare. Kaidan and Ashley felt like actual people most of the time while Liam and Cora always felt like characters in a videogame.

Like of course you'll say that, you're a character in a videogame. They were never immersive and never gave their tropes any rest. Delivering their roles of being characters perfectly and making you aware you're playing a game.

I am giving him more chances, since your ask, I've started taking him with Vetra along on missions just to hear their dialogue because nothing makes characters shine like conflict.

And it's...tame. fine. Okay.

Mild.

Boring.

Delivered like a first time stand up comedian on a stage who keeps shuffling their cards loudly before reading from them.

I wish they actually made them hate each other like Ashley used to do with other companions. I wish they gave him some claws or gave Vetra a spine. I wish they revealed anything interesting besides vague comments about vague past events with vague characters we never mention by name because fuck making commitment and actually developing character backstories huh?

They never commit, never reveal much. Just vagueness.

I love Jaal but he too is becoming very boring. I mean fumbling an interesting character like him that's basically the curent closest thing to an actual alien ingame is almost impressive for Andromeda.

I liked Jaal and Liam interactions but it never went anywhere. Liam is supposed to be this risktaker, act now think later and the personification of the phrase "curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back" and yet he can't actually do any risk taking with the game constantly holding him back.

A fucking movie night is the biggest thing he can manage? I expected strip poker with alcohol energy drinks potion mixing from this guy and we just get movie night??? That gets delayed back????

I love the guy but I am disappointed.

So I get you. The way you see him is for who his character was supposed to be, the way I wish he was given justice in his portrayal. But not what he currently is ingame.

J'aimerais d'abord remercier tous mes collègues du plateau pour les presque dix ans de compagnie amicale et inspirant. C'est vous qui faites le movie magic, et vous le savez: Il n'y a rien qui est plus magique que d'assister à une équipe de feu dans le jus créer un nouveau monde au complet avec que leurs mains, leur imagination et leur collaboration. Personne d'autre ne peut comprendre c'est quoi travailler ensemble avec les gens comme vous-autres qui ont chacun leur propre super-pouvoir. Mes heures sur le plateau étaient les meilleurs de ma vie.

I am intensely proud of the work I did as a script supervisor, especially of the sustained exertion it took to get that good at something that demanding, and in my second language! I feel lucky that I found my calling, that for almost a decade I got to do a job where I knew that once I got to set, all my other worries would disappear. When I was on set I was in my element, I was laser focused. I was my favourite me. I am grieving the loss of a career that I loved so much and that I worked so hard to build. (So hard. You have no idea how hard. How much effort I put into making it look easy.)

But now that I have finally acknowledged that I won't be able to go back to it, I find that I am enormously relieved. The fact is that in order to do what I did on set, I had to push myself to the very limit of my capacity when I was off set. Well beyond anything sustainable.

What a relief it is now to no longer be straining to be exceptionally good at something exceptionally difficult.

I have spent my whole life pushing myself outside of my comfort zone because that's the only way to really excel. But looking back I realize that the expectations I have set for myself have been absurd. That I have always pursued careers that were well beyond my physical capabilities, or that demanded inhumane hours, or required a level of self-discipline and self-motivation that were completely inappropriate to my temperament.

Script supervising was the closest I ever came to finding the perfect career for me, but even before I got sick, it was clear to me that the only way it would be sustainable was if I could always insist on having an assistant to do the paperwork. Very few script supervisors in the industry can demand that.

My whole life I have been told that I should be more ambitious, that something-or-other should be easy for me because I'm so smart, that if I just had the right attitude I could do things that I actually find nearly impossible. And my whole life I've felt like I was drowning.

Whenever I have tried to make a realistic assessment of my abilities and accept my limitations, I have been told that I'm being "too hard on myself" and that my "negative attitude" was what was keeping me from reaching my goals. But this misguided advice just made it harder to set healthy goals in the first place. I have spent the great majority of my adult life nowhere near my comfort zone. It was exhausting and stressful. These people were right that I should have had more self-confidence: then I would have believed that I know myself better than anybody else does.

It took being completely incapacitated by illness to realize that I have spent my entire adult life feeling inadequate for not meeting the well-meaning expectations of people with only the most superficial understanding of my situation. What a relief it is to no longer be trying to "live up to my potential".

I'm just grateful that I'm young enough that I still have a chance to build myself a life that actually goes at my own pace. A life where I put myself first.

I just read your analysis about Akane and I wanted to know if the new chapters changed some stuff on how you see him or not? :0

I personnaly don't really believe Akane is a people pleaser in canon. He is just genuinely nice as Aoi said, not even hiding his real personnality to the school who knows he complains and has obsessive tendencies. (That's my view on it of course I just want to know what you think!) He always help most people of the cast naturally too, even if he complains.

And for the love he has for Aoi I think most of the problems are solved with the latest chapter too! (If you don't wanna talk about the canon version of Aoi and Akane's relationship because you don't like it I can understand though!)

I just wanna know your opinion on it and if maybe you had some new ideas after the new chapter! What do you think will happen to him after this chapter? I am curious to know in which direction the manga is going!

nope, i don't think anything's really changed - he's just being more honest with aoi and the little group of friends around him at the moment. the entire sunflower trio is a group of fakers, and i stand by that! (affectionate intent, i love the sunflower trio i promise.. they're my favorite!!)

based on what aoi said in chapter 84, it's pretty clear akane is an obvious people pleaser. she says he would complain and all, but he'd still do it even when he doesn't want to. he's not benefitting from it, he's just pleasing other people.. to please them. that's all there is to it. he isn't really nice, per say, as he is a sarcastic asshole to those he actually trusts - he is still hiding his real personality from his classmates, as he's shown differently around lemon, teru, and nene- and recently around aoi too. (towards the end of ch 96, he isn't going "let's get married!" every two seconds and is just expressing worry. he sounds a lot more like himself)

look at the way he acts towards teru in his room (with aoi by his side) compared to the way he acts in other chapters around more people. akane isn't really as nice as he seems, but i understand how easy it is to think that way. his classmates just describe him as polite and kind because that's the only side of akane they know.

i still don't believe aoi and akane like each other romantically. it's very hard to change my opinions and i've just looked Way too deep into their relationship.. they love each other as friends since they're all the other has. they just confuse that love for something else. but that's a whole other analysis on it's own, aoi and akane have a very complicated relationship that's hard to understand in general

and about the next chapter, i'm sure it'll be teru and kou talking about their fight, as well as other important things they mean to tell each other- like mitsuba, teru's whole backstory, etc. to be honest i have no clue where the manga is going as i genuinely didn't expect this outcome, but i'm very excited to see what comes next!

Im sorry to intrude but I’m wondering how did you watch season2? Did you watch it without knowing anything or you got spoilers from tumblr about the kiss? I really tried my best to stay off tumblr for 2-3 days lol and it’s freaking hard!!!

The team were really hyping it up on their social media about the ‘will they won’t they’ with so much hints for the canon avatrice!! but i was really not expected to see the kiss in e8!!! We learned to have low expectations so that we don’t disappoint. But man oh man I was so happy already in ep5 with that moment of Ava’s near/ death and they share that eye-gaze like in s1 my heart melted. Then the kiss came my heart exploded!!! Everything leading up to that scene was so beautiful!

I wish that this show is something that got ordered for 4-5 seasons in advance so the writers get more room to give us more slow burn. But let’s hope for renewal of season3.

I wish that Mary would have come back (sister Dora entrance wouldve been perfectly if it was Mary!!! I was watching it on my small screen phone so I couldn’t see clearly at first if it was Mary I was happy for a few seconds :( only to be disappointed when she said she’s sister Dora). And they kinda did dirty on Lilith. Make it a complete waste of her redemption at the end of s1!!!

First off, you're not intruding at all, always very happy to talk about warrior nun with people!!

I watched the show completly spoiler free! I blocked all the tags i could think of (it was a big ass list) just to be sure, and watched it on thursday during the afternoon, so not a lot of people had the time to watch and post about it. Feeling very lucky for that one, i was glad to be spoiler free!

And i have no idea why, but i knew they were gonna kiss. They built it enough in social media, and i have watched and read a bit of interview of the crew, they know what they're doing. They didnt come to mess around with queer people. They wanted to do good. So when they started hyping up Avatrice, and Kristina talked about knowing which episode would be the fan favorite, i knew we were getting a kiss. But i think that just made the watch even more interesting, cause for the whole show i was just waiting for it to happen!! When they're dancing in the bar, when they're talking in their appartement, when they were just staring at each other tenderly, i was Screaming at my screen for them to kiss.

And same, i think the show is well made for a 3 seasons arc, so i hope we do get another one. They set it up real well with that "there is a divine war coming", and i hope we get to see that!

I know what you mean for Mary, she was one of my favorite characters. I don't know what happened, know she wasnt in s2 for personnal reason so they had to work around what they already had. One thing i love is that we had no body, and no real confirmation of it? Vincent said it to Lilith, but if she wanted to come back for a third season, it would be super easy to write her in! Maybe she was in hiding, maybe Adriel kept her prisonner, maybe some random person found her and for all of s2 she was slowly healing, for real it would be super easy to just figure out something, so i am keeping hope for that, even tho i probably shouldnt.

As for the Lilith storyline, i have so many thoughts. I am currently working on a post, cause there is A Lot to unpack (and by working on it i mean i have been thinking about making one) and i, personnally, really like where they are taking her. I was disapointed at first, cause i love a (morally) good demon, but i think i know what they wanna do with her and yeah anyway i have thoughts that i will eventually share, maybe, if i get around to actually do it and people have an interest in that.

And no need to apologise for writing! I would keep my ask closed if i had a problem with it, i think its a real fun way to bounce thoughts off each other and developp a thought process and a fandom! So yeah, thanks for the ask!

At first I was angry that Felix and Kagami took advantage of Marinette's distressed emotional state just to "ask her for help" with their situation, when Felix is the one who mostly got them into this mess by giving Gabriel too much power. I was even more infuriated by the fact that never once did Felix bother to express regrets or apologizing for what he did in Strike Back.

But then, after rewatching Felix and Kagami representation, I thought to myself : "It's almost like Felix is really trying to justify his actions, or at least give a proper explanation to the one he wronged the most to get the peacock miraculous".

And then I thought : "Why would Felix even want to make Marinette understand the why of his actions and where he's coming from ? If not because he's starting to regret that he hurt her in Strike Back ?"

We could argue that Felix revealed his past and reasons just to further convince Marinette to help him and Kagami, but I don't think it's that simple.

Because come to think of it, Felix doesn't seem like the kind who would share his past and personnal wounds and trauma to somoene he barely know, unless he guenuinly trusted that person and wanted them to understand his pain.

To me it could only mean one thing : Felix may not regret doing what he did to ensure his own survival, but he may regret that he hurt Ladybug, and by extension Marinette, in the process.

And maybe Ladybug's own actions in Emotion (and later in Pretension) when she chose to trust that Argos would make the right call, made Felix rethink his judgement about the heroin.

All his life until Colt Fathom death, Felix had been forced to do things he didn't want, and to have the magic jewel that could take back his life as easilly as it gave it to him, he went as far as helping a crazy supervillain to ensure that the man could never use the peacock miraculous to kill him.

But when Ladybug accepted her defeat with a smile, and let Felix have the freedom, the kind of freedom Felix lacked during the majority of his life, maybe this simple act of faith from her touched Felix more than we realize

I means just look at his facial expression during their confrontation :

That doesn't look like the face of somoene who really wants to poof Ladybug out of existence like he did with the others. If anything he really hesitated here, and it wasn't because he would lose the ladybug miraculous by doing that, Felix confirmed before and after that if he couldn't get to make his wish he would just transform the world with his own powers.

Not to forget, prior to that, Felix accused Ladybug of being somoene who decide who can have powers and who cannot, and we speculated that he may have sented for killing Strike Back to deal with the sentimonster threat.

But when Argos thought that the power of Red Moon went out of Control, Felix may have finally started to understand in what position Ladybug was against Strike Back, against a sentimonster that was sthreatening all Parisian lifes, and sentimonster with a terifying power created to harm, just like Red Moon.

And just like Ladybug had no choice but to sent Strike back to the sun to get rid and the threat, Felix felt he had no choice but to release Red moon from her existence to avoid any risk of losing control and endager people that Felix don't want to harm.

So yeah maybe after Emotion or Pretension, and even more after getting closer to Kagami, Felix really started to rethink his choices and regret his villainy. Trying to get the one he hurt to fix his mistakes is certainly not the right solution, and maybe Felix is doing it for selfish reasons, but I want to beleive that a part of Felix wants to do good, wants to redeem himself.

I want to beleive that becoming one of Ladybgu's ally will make Felix becomes a better person, and that we'll see him guenuinly apologize to Marinette at some point in season 6.

And about Felix giving back the ring with part of Adrien's amok to Gabriel in Strike Back, I hope he did it because in his mind, as long as Gabriel still had the other ring to control Adrien, he though it was useless to hang on to the other. Thus Felix still came back to Paris to try and free Adrien from Gabriel's control in season 5 during Emotion, by poofing Gabriel out of existence (wich by the way wasn't that bad of a solution ^^' if he had just got rif of Gabriel and Tome that is, and spared the rest of Paris)

It doesn't mean that Felix did that much of good after Pretension, or that he was totally redeemed in my eyes, but at least he is on the right path toward becoming more heroic. I still think Felix could have helped Ladybug a lot more, and I dare to hope that the only reason he haven't done so was because he was afraid that Gabriel would target Amelie in retaliation (This is why Felix made Amelie pretend that her son dissapeared and didn't came back to her, so Gabriel wouldn't have the idea to target his step-sister in order to get back the peacock miraculous)

The imagery in this - Felix, my heart :( And the way it was all done in those white suits / masks, like they were blank sheets for others to draw upon.... When he finally takes off the mask and shows his true face, then faces the 'camera' directly and asks when why his father didn't love him, it's just so powerful. This was one of the most moving scenes they have ever done.

Interview: Bad Nerves

Back in September, I went to the great Tropical Riot festival in Ullastrell, near Barcelona, to watch awesome local and foreign bands play. The main reason for my presence was Bad Nerves - who are still one of my favorite bands ever since I saw them play live at the Old Blue Last back in 2017. This time, the band had some time for an interview before the show, so we took a stroll around the catalan village of Ullastrell while catching up. They were headlining that night and the crowd went wild (see my photo below).

Join us as Bobby and Jon tell me about their lives in Essex, their live record Alive in London, getting by as a band, meeting Green Day and more.

Are you guys still living in London ? I remember you told me so back in 2017.

Bobby: I actually lived in London for a year, in 2017.

Jon: Now we live in Essex. It’s east London-ish.

Bobby: Just slightly outside of it ! We all come from Essex.

Jon: London is just not cool anymore. During the pandemic, so many venues shut down. What little scene we had really suffered. Now I never go there really.

Bobby: It’s very expensive.

What’s your life like when you’re not touring ?

Jon: It’s so boring ! We have quite normal lives I guess.

Bobby: I spend a lot of time writing and recording. We do go in the studio and rehearse.

That sounds amazing. Do you guys manage to make music full time now ?

Bobby: Not really. Financially, definitely not.

Jon: We all have other jobs, apart from some who lost them recently because of doing the band.

Bobby: I haven’t had a job for about 10 months now.

Jon: This is like, the crunch time where we have to make it work, because all our jobs are getting fed up with us going away all the time. There’s still bills to pay.

Bobby: It’s a different thing when you’re a bit older trying to do a band, because you don’t live with your parents. If you’re fortunate enough to live with your parents when you’re younger, like we were – we don’t have that privilege anymore. A band is not the easiest way to make money !

Jon: There’s a bit of a myth about our band at the moment. I read online that people are saying ‘they have loads of money !’ It’s so far from the truth !

Bobby: Yeah, and some deal with an american label. What the fuck are they talking about ?

Jon: That’s not how it works. We haven’t seen a penny.

Bobby : They are helping us with tour support, to go to America.

Jon: Or else, we wouldn’t be able to afford to go there.

Bobby: We don’t make any money personnally from this band. Not yet. We hope it’s going to change. We’ve been at this our whole lives and we have yet to make any money. It would be nice to make enough money to pay our rent. That would be a dream.

Jon: Money has never been the motive though. We’ve been doing that band for six years and never really bothered about money up to the point when we needed it to play shows.

Bobby: We break it even for the most part, but the whole band/business side of it is just waiting for money to come in from shows, because there’s a huge delay. You don’t get paid straight away, months pass and you need that money to buy the plane tickets to the next show, and sometimes you haven’t been paid for these shows. And then you’ve got no money, and you have to pay for those plane tickets with whatever you have.

I expected it to be bad, but not that bad.

Jon: We sound really depressing ! (laughs)

Bobby: We’re not depressed. It’s fucking great ! It’s not easy, but it’s fucking fun and worthwile.

Can we also talk about your latest releases, like Alive in London ?

Jon: That was recorded at the end of our first headline tour, in a funny bar in London called The Basement. It blew us away, because up until that point – we played England a bit, but no one ever really seemed to care that much. And then we did a run of our own shows and a bunch of them sold out. We decided to record the last one because it was in London.

Bobby: We didn’t even really know it was being recorded. Our manager said ‘I’ll record it !’ and we replied ‘yeah, whatever.’ I didn’t even remember !

Jon: It was the most insane show, in a tiny pub in London. The recording cuts out because all the recording equipment overheated. That’s why the record is so short. You can hear it break halfway through. I’m surprised no one died at that show to be honest ! (laughs)

Bobby: It’s the hottest show we have ever played ! I remember seeing Sam coming off stage – he had so much steam coming off of him, and he was just sitting hunched over. I didn’t know if he was alright !

I also wanted to talk about how you said in an interview that you wanted to bring rock and roll back to the masses.

Bobby: There’s loads of bands that we love who have scrappy recordings. We’re trying to do more modern-ish and powerful recordings, but with that scrappy character in it. In that sense, that is what we’re trying to do. Because mainstream radios don’t really play this scrappy punk. So we’re trying to get some of that scrappy stuff and give it a more modern recording.

Jon: We’re trying to influence younger bands to play a style that’s a bit forgotten. You don’t see a lot of kids doing it. Now, we’ve seen a few bands pop up who play this style. That’s the reason we do it, passing the torch !

I think we’re from the same generation – growing up, rock and roll was still on the TV and on the radio. We had bands like Green Day, Oasis, The Strokes, etc. Those bands introduced us to rock and roll. I share your vision, we have to bring it back, even if it’s-

Jon: -Just guitar music ! Going to festivals as a kid, it would be all guitar bands. And then that just died out and it started being, I don’t know, Beyoncé or something.

Bobby: It’s nice having a mix of genres in music, but it seems that rock and punk are shut out of a lot of mainstream. Is that because rock and roll is more prone to being protest music and half of the corporations that control this industry don’t want that shit playing ? I don’t know.

Could you guys also tell me more about Green Day ? Have you met them in person ?

Jon: It’s funny, because they say you shouldn’t meet your heroes. I started playing bass because of Mike Dirnt from Green Day, and they are the nicest people ! They’re lovely. I’ve met a lot of bands, and they are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.

Bobby: We played a festival in Czech Republic, Rock For People, and they were headlining. We watched them play this crazy healine set. Afterwards they invited us to come and meet them backstage. It was just us, them and maybe one or two roadies just sitting there and talking about music. Billie said he really loved the record !

Jon: It was surreal. Billie has been super supportive. He messaged us all the time. He truly cares about the band, posts our stuff. A true legend.

Bobby: You’d expect these rockstars to be ego maniacs, and a lot of them are. But not those cunts ! It’s funny because they’re one of the last bands around from our generation still going, that we genuinely like. We met Green Day’s manager and he said that Billie sent our record to him. The thought of him sending our record is surreal.

What can we expect from Bad Nerves in the future ?

Bobby: We’re just going to keep writing songs, playing gigs until… we die ? (laughs) We’re going to keep putting out records that we like, which is hard to do. It takes time.

Jon: We want to make our stand on this kind of genre in years to come.

Bobby: It would be nice to be able to look back and think ‘we had a good go at it.’
