Hi I'm new to Tumblr. I joined because I wanted to learn more about astro and generally all things witchy. On a journey of self discovery.

Eclipse season is quite shifty and I've been hearing that I shouldn't manifest anything in this time. Is it okay to cleanse and re-energize crystals. Also, with the eclipse season my body feels off especially my head, it feels like I have to remind myself to breathe. I'm basically like spraying essential oils or lighting incense to relax me. But I feel like using sage would do the trick but that feels more ritualistic because I usually say what I want as I burn it. Is using sage okay?

On the other hand, cleansing and re-energizing your crystals is generally considered a grounding and centering practice. It’s a way to maintain the purity of your tools and keep them in sync with your energy. So, you’re on the right track with cleansing them.

In terms of your temporary fogginess, using sage for cleansing is perfectly okay as these very personal rituals can be as elaborate or as simple as you prefer. You can absolutely use sage for cleansing without any specific incantations, tools, or actions if that feels more comfortable to you. The most important thing is to find what resonates with you and brings you a sense of peace, whether that be something ‘traditional’ like sage or rosemary for cleansing as opposed to, for example, my preference for lemongrass (I personally feel it helps to cleanse my mental energy and helps me focus, hence my personal connotation of lemongrass with cleansing my personal space). In a nutshell, do what feels right for you.

Eclipse season does affect people differently, and feeling off or needing calming rituals like essential oils and incense is quite common. Ultimately, your spiritual path should be a source of comfort and empowerment, so do what feels right for you.

Entry #13: Intersectionality and Privilege

Over the past three weeks, I got to understand how my own identity reflects in the foreign country I am in. I am a straight, white male in a country that supports everyone together as a family. Throughout all of the accommodations we stayed in the past three weeks, every single one had a gay pride flag in the front office, showing their support to students and visitors who stay in their accommodation. My own intersectionality makes me view New Zealand as a very open country, able to accept anyone, no matter what gender or race they are. New Zealand is one of the most diverse places that I have ever seen, and continues to expand more and more due to everyone welcoming for who they are as a person, not based on their skin, religion, gender, and many more. A New Zealander could have trouble fitting in a different country, pretend if a kiwi travels to the states, everyone will welcome them in, sure some people might be more tense than others, but most people in America view each other as all the same. During my time in New Zealand, one thing I tried to do was speak when spoken to, not try to be loud, and give everyone their personal space. One thing that New Zealand really taught me was to be a better pedestrian while walking up and down the streets of every city, considering I am not used to the driving pattern. The relationship between my sense of privilege to those I have encountered in New Zealand is quite similar, the rumor when you come here is that everybody is quiet, until you are one on one with a kiwi, they will talk your ear off, and have many of the same beliefs as me. I am not the type of person to wonder what religious group they believe in, what gender they are interested in. I just like to talk to people about their country, and if they want to bring up their personal beliefs, I will listen and express mine, but I do not want to start a conversation like that. Everyone here is extremely nice and open to different opinions and views on society, which is what some countries need to work on.

When you can tap into those internal guides, your path becomes clear. I read this article and they quoted a representative using the word, "empathy" in regards to women. “Pro-life Americans struggle for the day when abortion violence will be replaced by compassion and empathy for women and respect for weak and vulnerable children in the womb,” said Rep. Christopher Smith, R-N.J. Just so everyone knows the definition of empathy is: "the ability to understand and share the feelings of another". If Republicans/prolife individuals ACTUALLY had even a little empathy for women they would realize that shit happens. You can't force an unwanted pregnancy. If the woman wants an abortion they're gonna go out and get one. Forcing anti-abortion agendas will only increase this " abortion violence" The logical thing to do is to keep it legal so it eliminates unsafe abortion practices. Here let me break it down for you I, Danielle Hollars understand that YOU don't support abortion, so I wouldn't expect YOU to get one. I would not pass a law forcing you to get an abortion because I know as a logical empathetic human being, that I can't force you to get one. You, passionately opinionated individual, WHO HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BENEFIT OR NOT BENEFIT FROM ADVANCEMENTS OF MODERN MEDICINE , should empathize with me and realize that it is backwards barnyard crazy to use the government to dictate your own PERSONAL beliefs.
