Aura looked terrible. Her hair wasn’t brushed and she looked like a zombie. She barely spoke at breakfast, her arrows that usually flew straight barely hit the targets, and she didn’t focus at arts and crafts. She had promised to let you teach her how to fight with a sword after lunch, because she was terrible at it, but she hadn’t shown up.

i actually really like that hades immediately believes percy about kronos- in the books it was treated as this impossible thing and i think hades being so ready to believe that is actually believable considering where he lives. and also considering the personality we see from hades in the books

You and Percy had planned to spend the evening hanging out after a long day of training, but the second you stepped into his cabin, you could tell he was already exhausted. His eyes were drooping, and he barely had the energy to smile as he pulled you close for a hug.

“Hey,” he mumbled into your hair, his voice soft and sleepy. “I missed you.”

You chuckled, hugging him back. “You saw me like an hour ago.”

“Still,” Percy said, pulling back to give you a tired grin. “That’s a long time.”

You both sat down on his bed, and he wasted no time in laying his head on your lap, his hair spilling over your legs. You started absentmindedly running your fingers through it, smiling at how his eyes immediately fluttered closed.

“You’re so tired,” you said softly, not really expecting an answer.

Percy hummed in agreement but didn’t move. He just snuggled closer, one arm wrapped lazily around your waist. His breathing started to even out, and you knew he was about to fall asleep.

“You should go to sleep,” you whispered, leaning down to press a kiss to his temple.

“Mm, not yet,” he mumbled, even though he was clearly already half asleep. “I wanna hang out with you.”

You smiled, knowing that in a few minutes he wouldn’t be able to keep his eyes open any longer. “I’m not going anywhere, Percy. I’ll be right here.”

He shifted a little, his hold on you tightening as he let out a content sigh. “Love you,” he murmured, barely audible.

Your heart swelled, and you bent down again, brushing a kiss over his cheek. “Love you too,” you whispered back, watching as he finally gave in to sleep, his face peaceful in the dim light of the cabin.

With a soft smile, you leaned back against the headboard, still gently playing with his hair. Even though Percy was completely out, his presence brought you comfort, and you knew there was nowhere else you'd rather be than right here with him.
